    Apologies to all those I have subjected to my jesting over the years. That was bad. I should have known; I was enjoying myself too much.

    This is the foundation of the Christian faith. In order for US to be submissive, WE must first be submissive to those that are in place by GOD. They are for OUR good, Romans 8:28 says that ALL things are working for OUR good.

    I wrote a comment about the Lamb's Wife in Revelation 21:9... no so much a great mystery. If people read the Bible, found this verse, If you’re doing "Research" next time read the whole Bible.

    Ephesians 5:25-33, 32 Not so much a great mystery, if they read the whole Bible or find this part... Also Science is not the problem, it’s the scientists because it is written in Proverbs 1:4 "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding." To me, scientists are just trying to attack the Bible for an excuse for sinning, to not follow God, for what someone else did; Breaking Exodus 20:7 or grieving over death. Scientist should also do a little more "RE SEARCH" because I don’t like them making things, your just looking at what's is ALREADY there. You almost/sometimes describe what God does...but you can't do what God does Ecclesiastes 11:5, John 8:28 and 5:19...you will never know unless God tells you or gives you the power to do so. The so called "NEW PLANETS" and "GALAXIES" “we haven't discovered"... Genesis 1:16 "Evolution Theory"... Genesis 1:24-25...Monkeys breed Monkeys Putting aside or saying who lit the match? God, Yahweh, Genesis 11:9, for scientist's "Big Bang Theory"... Genesis 1:1-18, 1.

    @Jan,
    About verse 18- when Jesus states that upon this rock I will build my church. Jesus is making a direct reference to himself as the rock using 3rd person singular. Christ is the head of the church Ephesians 5:23, I Corinthians 10:4. That's why the church is also called the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:12-16. As for Peter being the 1st Pope or holy father, Matthew 23:9 states to call no man on earth your (spiritual) farther, for one is your (spiritual) father in heaven. That church is building on the rock of Peter is in serious trouble when Jesus states 4 verses later that Peter is become like Satan momentarily (verse 23) and Peter is married. Matthew 8:14 which makes me ask the question why priests, bishops, cardinals and popes do not marry? I Timothy 3:2 states that a bishop (Pastor, Deacon) to be the husband of one wife which is where one would find the criteria of a bishop, deacon.
  • Jill on Genesis 3 - 13 years ago
    We (women) weren't created as an afterthought or merely as an extension of man. God created us to fulfill Adam's need for an help meet ( Genesis 2:20). Ephesians 5:22-33 is also a great place to see the love of a husband for his wife. Verse 25 tells it best "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" Jesus loved us so much that He died for us; our husbands are to love us the same way and should be willing to sacrifice their lives for us as Christ did for mankind. That must mean that God wants men to recognize our value and worth as women.

    All we need is to put our trust in HIM, know the word and do what it says, HE'll do the rest. Loving and submitting to one another will happen if we put HIM first. Be blessed.
  • Baptista mburugu michuki on Ephesians 5:33 - 13 years ago
    Verse 21-33 Paul at the end remarks that this is a great mystery. I cannot find a better word to describe it. The bible compares the husband to the savior, even as He (Jesus) is the savior of the church, that He might sanctify and cleanse it to present to Him a glorious church, likewise to the husbands. You were never a perfect match when you married, many are the areas you will conflict with your spouse. It is your responsibility as the husband to iron out wrinkles and blemish from your spouse. The only thing is that you can't do this on your own, it calls for absolute surrender even as Christ surrendered for the sake of the church. That means you give up yourself for her no matter how you feel it doesn't count. There is so much more to discuss on this, looking forward to release a book on the same. God bless you all.

    This is one of God’s main commandments, this should be followed to the letter no ifs or buts; showing great love for one another and great respect even in bad times, live as one it’s not about oneself this pleases the Father Almighty who sits on high.

    @Andrew,
    Sir if I may say NO to your question. IF you do go out of the marriage you commit adultery and you as well cause your lovely wife to as well commit adultery. Please don’t do that. If I may say if a husband loves his wife that way Christ loves the church the wife shouldn’t have any problem submitting unto her own husband. You have to remember Christ loves the church unconditionally and gave His life for the church (born again sons of God).He gave it all we are to work in our marriage and be selfless and give our all no matter the cost. Love your wife be good to her, open the word of God with her pray with her. Ask her first. Be an example to her and when she sees you are faithful unto God and love God the Father. Be faithful to God’s house Andrew. Then she will love you so much and want to follow her husband in serving our mighty God. Andrew is she saved if not share the plan of salvation with her, pray, pray, pray. Hope I was some help. It is all because of Him (OUR FATHER). God Bless you and yours.
  • André on Ephesians 5 - 13 years ago
    @Cora,
    The question is most about submitting ourselves to the word of GOD or opposing our choice to it.
    But the word says, ''Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.''
    Submission is loving obedience by proper arrangement.
    The Bible continues:
    For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

    24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
    And to husbands, not submit yourselves, but
    ''Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;''

    So it is to us to take it or not.
    GOD bless you.
  • Tania on Ephesians 5:30 - 13 years ago
    This is one of the most profound words the apostle Paul ever spoke under the inspiration of God\'s Spirit. The verse attempts to describe how we are so intimately related to Christ. We cannot be separated from Him!...we that are His are so joined with Him that we are good as one. There is no distinction between us and Him. When we suffer, He suffers, when we are persecuted He is also persecuted for we are one flesh with Him! wow! Wow!
  • Cora Farmer on Ephesians 5:19 - 13 years ago
    I want to comment on the submission part of Ephesians. When God told a woman to submit to her husband; he also told the husband to submit to his wife. Most of you unlearned pastors never quote the whole truth concerning \"submission\". Besides, All husbands aren\'t in the Lord: Does that mean submitt to everything your ungodly says? The word submit means to go under, give in willingly, God designed marriage and he designed it where as both parties can enjoy sharing a life of love with one person. so why would God make it uncomfortable for a woman by telling her to submit to the man and he not submit to her? God is not an unfair God. Yes, wives should submit to their husbands in righteousness and the husbands should submit to their wives in righteousness. Let us study to show ourselves approved before God so that we will not be made ashamed when we share the word with others.

    I certainly dont agree with joking in church or in the pulpit. This is serious business. I hear too much joking and laughing of Christians these days.
  • Adam on Ephesians 5:22 - 13 years ago
    In modern societies, this seems to be a difficult verse to swallow for many. And it certainly doesn't mean unequal rights or that one person is dominating or dictating. But it's acknowledging different roles are ideal and most healthy in a relationship.

  • Donna Justice on Ephesians 5:10 - 13 years ago
    When read alone, I think it means that we have to persue God, but in context, the Bible explains that we once were in darkness (sin) and now we are in the light (we repented from sin) the next step is persue God..what He wants of us, how he wants us to live and treat others. It's bigger than going to church on Sundays...I pray with all my heart to "get it". To have true understanding...Not like today's ideas of preaching and church but it seems that they missed something in a big way and I want to find it. I want to find the true path, the way. I want to hear "well done, my child".

  • Samuel Bonaya Buya on Matthew 1 - 13 years ago
    In Mathew 1:1 Jesus Christ is son of David, son of Abraham. He was made seed of David according to the flesh ( Romans 1:4). He, as seed of Abraham was promised to possess the gates of his enemies. In Abraham's seed all the nations of the earth be blessed ( Genesis 22:17-18). In Mathew 1:18) He is Child of the Holy Ghost. He came down from heaven ( John 3: 13). This Child of the Holy Ghost was the word made flesh, the only begotten of the Father ( John 1:14). The Holy Ghost is the Father. The Holy Ghost and the Father are the self same person. God is a Spirit ( John 4:24) and you must be born of water the Spirit to see the kingdom of God ( John 3:5). God is the Father and He is the Holy Ghost. God was manifest in the flesh ( 1Timothy 3:16) For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham ( Hebrews 1:16). God was manifested in the flesh make atonement for sin and to purchase His church by His own blood ( Acts 20: 28). The Shekinah glory that was in that once filled the temple in Jerusalem took a body of flesh. He became God's Choosen Place of Worship, God's Temple that He choose to put His name, the perfect realisation ofthe old testament temple (Deutromy12:5-11). Jesus was God's temple and the Church is the temple of his body ( John 2:19; Ephesians 5:30; 2:21- 22). The church of Christ, the bride is the mouthpiece of the Holy Ghost for the commission was its not ye that speak but the Holy Ghost ( Mark 13:11) and again what Holy Ghost speaks the true church speaks the same ( Revelation 22:17), for He that is Joined unto the Lord is one Spirit ( 1Corinthians 6:16). Now the Spirit of the Lord that was on Jesus is in His church even as He promised: as for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD, My spirit that is upon thee and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out the mouth of thy Seed's seed, from henceforth and forever( Isaiah 59:21). The witness of the Apostles and prophets in the Bible is the witness of the Holy Ghost, for they were sent by the Holy Ghost ( Acts 13:4) and they preached by the Holy Ghost ( Galatians 1 :11-12). For the church to receive the blessing of Abraham the must stay exacty with the original gospel as Spoken by the Holy Ghost through His apotles
  • Takirid on Revelation 14:1 - 14 years ago
    Well Linda why don't we findout and see what Gods word has to say. And I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.” ( Revelation 14:1) As we have seen, this Lamb is the same as the Michael who cleansed the heavens by casting out the Devil and his demons. He is the Michael whom Daniel describes as “standing in behalf of the sons of [God’s] people” as he prepares to “stand up” in executing Jehovah’s righteous judgments. ( Daniel 12:1; Revelation 12:7, 9) Since 1914 this self-sacrificing Lamb of God has been standing on Mount Zion as the Messianic King.
    3 It is just as Jehovah foretold: “I, even I, have installed my king upon Zion, my holy mountain.” ( Psalm 2:6; 110:2) This no longer refers to the earthly Mount Zion, the geographical location of earthly Jerusalem, in which city human kings in the line of David used to reign. (1 Chronicles 11:4-7; 2 Chronicles 5:2) No, for Jesus, after his death and resurrection in 33 C.E., was installed as a foundation cornerstone on the heavenly Mount Zion, the celestial location where Jehovah determined to place the “city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem.” Hence, “the Mount Zion” here represents the exalted position of Jesus and his joint heirs, who make up heavenly Jerusalem, which is the Kingdom. ( Hebrews 12:22, 28; Ephesians 3:6) It is the glorious royal situation to which Jehovah elevates them during the Lord’s day. Over the centuries, anointed Christians, as “living stones,” have earnestly looked forward to standing on that heavenly Mount Zion, united with the glorified Lord Jesus Christ in his majestic Kingdom.—1 Peter 2:4-6; Luke 22:28-30; John 14:2, 3.
    4 John sees not only Jesus but the complete body of the 144,000 fellow heirs of the heavenly Kingdom standing upon the Mount Zion. At the time represented by the vision, many, but not all, of the 144,000 are already in heaven. Later in the same vision, John learns that some of the holy ones still have to endure and die faithful. ( Revelation 14:12, 13) Evidently, then, some of the 144,000 are still on earth. So how is it that John sees all of them standing with Jesus on Mount Zion? In that, as members of the congregation of anointed Christians, these have now “approached a Mount Zion and a city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem.” ( Hebrews 12:22) Like Paul when he was still on earth, they have already—in a spiritual sense—been raised up to be in union with Christ Jesus in heavenly places. ( Ephesians 2:5, 6) Additionally, in 1919 they responded to the invitation, “Come on up here,” and in a figurative way “went up into heaven in the cloud.” ( Revelation 11:12) In view of these scriptures, we can see that all the 144,000—spiritually speaking—are located on Mount Zion with Jesus Christ.
    The 144,000 have no part with the worshippers of the wild beast, who are marked with the symbolic number 666. ( Revelation 13:15-18) In contrast, these loyal ones have the name of God and of the Lamb written on their foreheads. No doubt John, a Jew, saw God’s name in Hebrew lettering, יהוה. In having the name of Jesus’ Father symbolically written on their foreheads, these sealed ones make known to all that they are Jehovah’s witnesses, His slaves. ( Revelation 3:12) Their having Jesus’ name also displayed on their foreheads indicates that they acknowledge being owned by him. He is their betrothed “husband,” and they are his prospective “bride,” “a new creation” serving God with heavenly life in view. ( Ephesians 5:22-24; Revelation 21:2, 9; 2 Corinthians 5:17) Their intimate relationship with Jehovah and Jesus Christ affects all their thoughts and actions.Thats the best I could do, and the rest up to you, weather you except this conclusion or not.

    Eph. 5:21 said (Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.) That means that we need to follow God's word 100% and fear what God can do to us or will let happen to us if we don't obey His word. Wives yes you must submit to your husbands in every way just like Christ did and dose to God. What you give to the one above you is what you get from the one below you.Always remember it's God Christ Husband Wife Children, then everyone else. Then means anyone outside of that, and yes even your Pastor, In-law's friends too.Submitting is God's way, so if you don't want to Truly Submit-Don't get married!! and Husbands read Vs 23 to 25 you have to submit to Christ and Love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it; That means you have to love your wife so so so much, you are willing to give your life for her!

    May God Bless you and yours

    Wine in itself is not bad, but taken in excess can lead to bad behaviour,like roiting, debauchery, use of bad language, etc.Afterall it is used during Mass. Being drunk in the in the Spirit benefits one with the fruits and gifts of the spirit which are peace,love ,joy,patience, etc.

    @Gahambo: It is a thing many Christians worry about as they do not know what it really means. Read Psalm 82:6 and Ephesians 5:1. Simply it does not mean "ye are God" instead it means "ye are gods".
