He took not on himself the seed of angels ( the lesser glory ) but the seed of Abraham the greater Glory as Abraham was a type of God the father that offered up his only son God almighty told Abraham i am thy great and exceeding reward thus the true heavenly seed of Abraham IS God Almighty. ITS NOT ABOUT CHRIST TAKING ON THE SEED OF TH JEWS AS JESUS SAID B/F ABRAHAM WAS I AM. JEWS MUST BE BORNAGIN

Verse 18~Jesus himself dealt with being tempted by Satan shortly after his baptism. He can sympathize with us when we are tempted and he shows the way to come off victorious.

servant (cont.) The Born From Above are passed from death to life, from the power of Satan unto GOD. Remember how Cain's countenance fell, and he became so angry that he killed his brother? Because his own works were evil, and he was not respected by God because of HIS HYPOCRISY AND FALSENESS OF CHARACTER! It wasn't Abel who was the liar and the hypocrite! It was the one who despised the Saviour!

servant; however, contrary to the 'holier than thou' Pharisee, who wouldn't repent himself, but could only go about as an adversary and accuser of the Lord and His disciples; it was the sinners, the tax gatherers and the harlots, who repented and became disciples, who were justified in God's sight. Better look to the beam in one's own eye first!
  • Servant of God on Hebrews 2 - 8 years ago
Paul here quoting psalms and making the argument that born again hang their hat on that Jesus saved us from sin in the flesh by destroying the devil who is the fear of death. But the devil still holds sway on planet earth and born again are like the pharasee holding fast to false arguements that there salvation is assured no matter how hypocritical they show themsevles to be. God has no respect!

Steph: how shall you escape if you neglect so great salvation? Hebrews 2:3/ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelations 20:15 /--- hast redeemed us to God by thy blood--- Revelations 5:9 / Neither is their salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Rom. 9:10 - "..... that if thy wilt confess ..... "; meaning of the word 'confess' in BIBLE dict. - "An open profession of faith." Jas. 2:14, 17, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26. The WHOLE Bible works together; not just certain verses taken out of context.

God has given us his salvation on a platter of gold by offering his only SON to die in our stead. He went as far as bringing Him His SON to the level of mankind just to draw us back to Himself. Therefore let us all grab this great and wonderful gift of God with no delay before it is late, to avoid God s wrath at the end.

This has helped me in my understanding about spiritual warfare. We are all, by default, part of a cosmic conflict, whether we realize it or not. As citizens of Christ s future kingdom, we battle every day against the kingdom of Satan, from which we have been saved. Thankfully, we can be victorious, for our King defeated the enemy, through His death and resurrection Heb. 2:14 . The foe was rendered powerless, but his ultimate demise will come when our King, returns to set up His kingdom. In the interim, while we wait, our Lord wants us to draw faithfully upon His power and authority in other words, His provision --- for spiritual victory. To that end we must walk by faith, not by sight.

There is no other above name in heaven its Jesus. Because of his perfect obedience to our Heavenly Father God gave Jesus a reward because of his love. We must praise and thanks Jesus for redeeming us, his precious blood are his love and mercy to us. We are saved by God 's grace and not by works. We must seek the kingdom of God first and we must be Born Again in Spirit and not in flesh. Jesus is the only way the truth and the life whoever believes in him will be save and have life in abundance until rapture. Thank you Jesus for being faithful to your promises Amen

i understand the seriousness of the love of God,that He didnt spare His Son to die for me.He went to a level of lowering Him to a class of human beings so as for Him to understand us more better.Wonderful God.Obedient jesus.

Hebrews 2 is a great reminder to cling to the gospel of our salvation and give all diligence to draw near to the light and cleansing it provides by cherishing it. As we lay off the deeds of the body of sin and flesh we prove that we cherish the light and cleansing that the gospel provides. I could use pray for discipline.
