The doctrine of election is described as the "total depravity" of man according to the "TULIP" acronym which was credited toward; but not originated with Calvin's set of beliefs on predestination as one of the elements. Simply put; Christ looked down also and saw that there was no man in Isaiah 63:3; thus he renders justice and we are only made right through His sacrifice. If anyone else could have done it; surely Christ wouldn't have to die on the cross; or have to pray that if possible the cup would be spared

( Luke 22:42). It is obvious from scripture that "all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". ( Romans 3:23). There are; of course many other verses in both Testaments on that subject.

We could say that since Revelation indicates the fate of ALL who are NOT written in the Book of Life is to worship Antichrist ( Rev. 13:8) we all are going to turn away as your quoted verse in Psalms indicates. Obviously; some do come to God; but since repentance is a gift according to scripture ( Acts 11:18); and faith is also mentioned as such in Ephesians 2:8; it becomes clear that all good gifts come from above ( James 1:17).

This doesn't absolve our personal responsibility; and part of this mystery of election involves man's response or lack thereof to the same evidence at least with external appearance. The sticking point comes as indicated when Christ said "why do you call me good"? ( Mark 10:18). Seeing Him as God in the flesh only comes through Divine revelation ( Matthew 16:17). Others see Him as a "good teacher; Prophet or something else as the earlier verses in that passage indicate. Those people are not "spiritually discerned" ( 1 Cor. 2:14).

Finally; going back to Noah we have the lack of salvation available for hybrid offspring of the fallen angels; as well as those angels themselves. Therefore; a universal destruction occured; except for Noah "perfect in his generations" ( Gen. 6:9). This indicates pure human seed; not sinless

Appreciate your sincere question and Adam's response. Seems when the Bible speaks of salvation from our sins it refers to a present state, but eternal salvation is to those that obey him. Hebrews 5:9. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. Jesus said that he that endures to the end shall be saved. My understanding of born again it is interchangeable with conversion and transformation. This happens by the work of the Spirit and Word (water), washing of water by the word. 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. I am not aware that the blood of Christ has a role in being born again. My understanding it is for the atonement and remission of sins.

3rd, is this were loving GOD, hating your ._.__ comes in? Are we willing to serve GOD over love of family? Luke 14:26,

4th, Luke 14:27, not being a cross you put in your pocket, around your neck or on the wall: Micah 5:12,13, Deuteronomy 18:9-14, Nahum 1:14, Deuteronomy 4:14-20, Deuteronomy 4:23-25, I even have personal conviction about wearing a cross, since I accepted JESUS as my Savior at young age. Something just bothered me inside about it spiritually. Even though some were special "Christian" gifts. & many people wear them.

5th, One day recently, I saw a "Christian" bookstore selling crucifixion nails as jewelry. I cringed. Then I thought if someone was killed, raised again from the grave; would that person eagerly embrace another that had the weapon or thing that tortured & caused the pain & death, hung around their neck? or would they feel multiple emotions triggered by it? I thought of someone wearing a pill, bullet, ect. of a loved one, in resemblance, remembrance.

The Natural Man.

Part 1 of 2.

In 1 Corinthians 2:6-16, the natural man is compared to the spiritual man and the carnal man. Verse 14 says, "A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. This verse does not define the natural man, as such; rather, it uses the term to describe one who does not understand God's words and thoughts. The one who can understand God's words is a "spiritual" man (verse 15).

Dr. Henry Morris, in the New Defender's Study Bible, gives this comment on verse 14: "The 'natural' man, still unsaved, cannot appreciate spiritual truths. He must first understand Christ's atoning sacrifice for him, but even that is 'foolishness' to him (1:18) until the Holy Spirit Himself convicts him of its reality ( John 16:7-11)." Basically, the "natural" man is one who does not have the Holy Spirit residing within him. As Jesus said, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit" ( John 3:6).

Let's look at some other uses in the Bible of the word natural. In Romans 11:21 we read, "For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He spare you." In 1 Corinthians 15:44-46, "It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, then there is also a spiritual body. However the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual." Ezekiel 44:31 speaks of a natural death. Daniel 10:8 speaks of a natural color. James 1:23 speaks of a natural face, and James 3:15 states, "This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, "natural", demonic."

Some Christians manifest a different kind of flip-flop. It's a flip-flopping lifestyle. These are called flip-flopping saints.

Sadly, flip-flopping is the kind of action that negatively affects their walk with God. This kind of flip-flopping is a change of mind. It's a decision to reverse an earlier decision. Flip-flopping faith seems common among some who say they believe God one day but easily change their minds the next.

Apostle James wrote about flip-flopping Faith. He said, "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways" ( James 1:8). A double-minded man is someone that believes today but changes his mind tomorrow. This is the flip-flopping saint that can't be trusted. He is double-minded. He is not dependable, breaks rank, is lukewarm, and doesn't keep his word. The Holy Spirit says this person is unstable and double-minded. You should be careful around such a person.

Abraham refused to walk in flip-flopping faith. The Bible says, "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that what he had promised he was able also to perform" ( Romans 4:20-21).

Flip-floppers can never please God. Remember, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Don't let the seed of God's word fall on hard ground. Build your house on the rock. Scripture declares, "And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred" ( Mark 4:20). God rewards steadfastness.

Watch your walk. As already said, be careful around flip-flopping faith. Stagger not in unbelief but give glory to God. Think about this. "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" ( Numbers 23:19)

We are to not just talk about the Holy Word of God, but apply the Holy Word of God in our daily lives. I am not better than anyone, just better off spiritually speaking than most ( Matthew 7:22-23), but only because of how Jesus Christ suffered and shed His precious blood on Calvary's cross for all my sins and the whole world, for I am nothing and can do nothing apart from the finished work of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 64:6, ""But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

I do not want to be deceived in thinking that just by talking or hearing about God's Holy Word is enough for me to go to Heaven, when only the doers of God's Holy Word will make it to Heaven, and we are not saved by works, but by what Christ accomplished on the cross by offering up Himself as a living sacrifice for all of us. I have faced this very question in my own life at one time. God led me to James chapter 1 which talks about our faith being tested when we face temptations or adversity. It says "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing (this), that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have (her)perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." James 1:1-4. Much like Job in the old testament, whom didn't do anything wrong yet his friends accused him of it, God allowed the testing of his faith. When we go though trials, our faith is tested. God desires us to continue to trust fully in Him, which at times can be difficult, but God is faithful and tells us that the testings we go through are not more than we can bear. Our afflictions can also bring unity of the Body of Christ which is also discussed in James chapter 5: 13-16, "Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess (your) faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." 3rd, to me I understand this Psalms 11, & Psalms 11:3, appears to be written by David, it seems to point to when he was being pursued by Saul into the mountains. Please read 1Samuel 19:10, 1Samuel 18:29, 1Samuel 23:26, could David be referring to the foundation being destroyed referring to himself? 1Kings 9:5, Jeremiah 33:17, Psalms 132:11, being the promise of GOD to establish HIS throne through David?

I was studying Law in Michigan when they voted & allowed the horrific crime of "Partial Birth Abortion" it was described in detail. Where the woman would go full term, into natural birth then,._(the act I do not want to even speak about how) they do the horrific crime, Killing the newly born child.

It sounds like we're getting closer to the root of your belief. I noticed you used statements in the "If... then..." format to draw some assumptions. Here is an example:

You: "If we assume this passage speaks of Christians who get saved but then lose it again for violating the whole law of God then we must assume nobody will ever be saved in the end except those Christians who die immediately after receiving Christ."

The first part of your sentence is correct as James 1:1 says he's a Christian and he's writing to 12 tribes and is right away instructing them to not worry about temptations because their faith will build patience (verse 3). Most of Paul's books were to Christians churches too and it usually says this in the first verse of each. So, it's safe to say that yes, the book of James is for Christians.

While the first part of your sentence rings true, the last part is what sounded alarm bells. "we must assume nobody will ever be saved in the end except those Christians who die immediately after receiving Christ."

No, I don't know anyone who assumes that or where that idea comes from? Is it possible that you're engaging in black or white thinking and through that filter you aren't seeing a difference between an imperfect (normal) grace-covered Christ follower and a Christian who decides to denounce Christ and go in a different direction? One scenario is a normal person covered by grace while following the Lord, the other is someone who chooses to no longer follow the Lord- not covered.

Example:

Let's say you're driving down a freeway towards Seattle. You may encounter traffic, you may swerve to avoid obstacles on the road, you may even get lost and exit off and recollect yourself, you may even get a flat tire, but overall you're still following the path to your destination. However, if you at some point made a choice to turn around and go in the opposite direction, then you would no longer be going to Seattle. This is a metaphor for following Christ.

Marke, regarding 1 Cor. 9: 24-27 you said "Paul likens the Christian life after salvation to that of running a race. He is talking about receiving rewards and commendations at the judgment seat of Christ. He is not talking about running to finally obtain long-sought-after salvation offered in Christ but never vouched by Christ until the race is audited by Christ, in the end, to see if the race was run well enough" However, I disagree with your interpretation of this and will explain.

In v. 25, Paul states "And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible." You think this has to do with rewards (plural). However, this is singular. We compare this to James 1:12 "Blessed is the man that ENDURETH temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life (eternal life), which the Lord hath promised to them that love him (conditional promise!)." and Rev. 2:10 "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou FAITHFUL unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life (eternal life)."

In both James and Revelation there's enduring and overcoming. There are conditions to God's promise of eternal life.

As for "cast away", I fail to see the connection between being a cast away and receiving/losing heavenly rewards. Cast away means being cast our from Christ and His Kingdom. Continuing to 1 Cor. 10: 11-12 "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for OUR admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he FALL." Fall from what? Salvation! Also, in 1. Cor. 10:4 Paul says they drank of the spiritual rock, which was Christ. Yet, they were cut off and destroyed for not doing God's will. And we know idolators and fornicators won't inherit eternal life.

Matthew 4:4 was the Lord Jesus talking about "live" as to obtaining eternal life? One thing is for sure, he is not talking about eating physical food to survive, when studying the answer, we are to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, should this be interpreted as all that Christ taught? When studying the four gospels, the Lord Jesus taught four different topics, the gospel, the New Testament, the gospel of the kingdom and the new covenant. These are the words that came out of the mouth of God, if we are to obtain eternal life by believing these words and then living by these words through obeying them, then this message is about how to save the soul and body by faith with works. I have often pondered about James 1:21 where the apostle taught our soul is saved by obeying the Ten Commandments written in the heart of all Christians, as the new covenant. I seen the correlation between James and Luke 10:25-28 where the Lord Jesus answered the question on how to inherit eternal life, and stated it is by obeying the Ten Commandments written in the heart.

I suppose the question is whether the theoretical understanding of those who are producing fruit worthy of repentance (truly saved) is the issue; or your own walk. I feel it is important to point out the greatest enemy is our self love. We deem that something in our flesh is good; this can slip very easily into humanism. Our experiences with God can be confused with emotions which give us natural enjoyment in the flesh but are transient at best. Reliance upon our feelings to dictate what experiences are from the Holy Spirit of course without spiritual discernment can lead us astray. However; if we ask God as the book of James states He gives us wisdom. If we seek the truth; we will find it. As my last post suggested in response-it is the conviction of sin; judgment and righteousness the Spirit reveals to us; often in the presence of other saints who are more mature and therefore have a greater measure of faith and/or the Spirit. I don't want to say that there is no feeling with the Lord; it is better described as existent without involving the flesh; or outside our own created world in our minds as it were. We do learn to recognize it; however if we are His sheep we recognize and hear His voice and also when strangers are teaching falsehood we sense danger and get away.

I thought it prudent to encourage you also that Christ has overcome this world. There is no fear in true love. ( 1 John 4:18). Not quoted perfectly; but my point is that the enemy continually likes to accuse us before God. The fact that our Father doesn't change ( James 1:17-18) as the "Father of lights" is different than the enemy; who likes to dangle a carrot in front of us; then torment us when we fall for it. I will keep you in prayer as to your living situation-and that the promises of Psalm 91 can be applied to your life. In general; it is always best to keep God above people; yet we have to trust God to bring who He chooses in our time of need. Stay in fellowship.

Lets go to Genesis 3: 4-5

V4 - And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

V5 - For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

In that statement there a lie, a truth, and something hidden. That is really evil because people see the truth and then easily accept the lie.

The lie is that Adam and Eve will not die.

The truth is that Adam and Eve will know good and evil like God does.

The hidden thing is that since people get to know evil then they cannot avoid it. They become vulnerable to it. It is not the same with God. Read James 1:13 "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:"

God knowes what evil is but He is not tempted by it. His nature is invulnerable to sin. This is a huge difference between man and God.

The lesson? There are thoughts in our minds that are ours, thoughts from God and thoughts from satan. If a thought is from God then it is about smt good. If otherwise then it may be from satan. In this case don't go to a discussion with satan when he places thoughts in your mind. You cannot win, you wiil eventually fail. Do what Jesus did when faced him in the dessert. Answered him using the Scripture, because the Scripture is the truth. Satan also tried to use himself the Scripture by twisting it but still Jesus answered back the right answer because He knew the Scripture well. Lesson for us? We have to study and learn the Scripture, what it is written, what is meant, etc. And still when a bad thought comes to your mind, nevermind if it yours or satan's, just throw it away, don't think about it, you never know where it will lead you to. There is a saying I like " We can not avoid birds sitting on a tree but we can send them away"

Recently I've compared the KJV Standard on this website, to 1611 also on this site & The Jerusalem Bible 1970, when searching deeper. I also recommend an Exhaustive Concordance KJV, (best to get the translation you're most familiar with). It has every word written in the Bible for that translation. When I was newly learning to study the Bible I had NIV, & NIV Exhaustive Concordance. I then, went back to KJV but found the NIV Exhaustive Concordance, very difficult to use for finding scriptures, after becoming familiar with KJV.

The Exhaustive Concordance has the word your searching for in alphabetical order like a dictionary, then it has the original words used with simple definition in those original languages, then lists each time that same exact word was used. I've even found them online.
