Just as truth with always have lies at opposite end of the continuum to have to contend with, so also those who love the truth in Christ Jesus will have those who want to make them suffer and will resist their best efforts. Jesus once said in John 15:18, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you."
  • Michael richardson on John 15 - 12 years ago
Here in John chp. 15 God is telling followers of Christ that we r going to b tempted in our daily walk. Because they hated Jesus therefore they r going to hate us.but we must smile and continue to show love to fellow brothers and sister.for this is right in the eye sights of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
  • Orlando on John 15:13 - 12 years ago
It was the AGAPE kind of LOVE that Jesus showed us. The highest form of LOVE that save us from the penalty of sin.

Is there an Official ON LINE SITE I can get involved with in the KING JAMES BIBLE (Not the perverted changed versions, but the 1611 KJV?
I am Self Learned with only THE HOLY SPIRIT teaching me. I have had a life long fear of Adding or Taking Away from God's HOLY BREATHED WORD, and for that conviction I am without any church, as all add and take away. I was CATHOLIC but GOD Reached down for me in love ( 2 Peter 3:9)and I heard and was saved on or about 10 January,1997 here at my home in Rota, Spain. At that time I was attending church at a fundamental Independent Baptist Church (BETHEL) at Rota, Spain, but I heard the Pastor changing and adding to God's Word, and now I am not in church, and that is not good for any soul. But when the pastor says GRAPE JUICE where God Breathed the word WINE into the mind of the recorder to record, WHAT authority does any man have to change God's Word? (The Wine thing is in most Baptist Churches seemingly of greater concern that the saving of souls, and that is so sad).I'll be 70 years old come 24 February, and soon I'll meet my time spoken of in Hebrews 9:27, but I am saved, and that not because I deserve salvation, because I am by far the very least of all of God's Children. GRACE plus NOTHING that is how I was saved, PRAISE GOD.

Praise the Lord..God is good in revealing The deepness of His word to us. In verse 1,Jesus says Iam the true vine, so that means there is a false vine also..As believers in Christ we must know that the world is the other vine that leads to destruction. In this life, When we found ouselves not connecting to God 's word we dont realise that we are connecting to the world. Bearing fruit is all about remaining in Christ and God can only purge us if we remain in the true vine.
  • Austine on John 15:4 - 12 years ago
You knw we ask so many thngs as christians, not realise that the word of God is practical(i.e we ask Gd to help us to bear fruits in our faith) wherelse only God wants us to remain in Hm continuasley. This verse awakens me into being practical to the word of Gd,nd stop asking what is already there, the only thng left is to find a way of getting it.Jesus did not say if u attend church services yull bear fruit,or if you pray much u wil bear much fruit instead He said abide in me first, thats the secret.

John 15:5 FOR WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.
He that stays in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.

John 15:4 No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither CAN YOU BEAR FRUITS UNLESS YOU REMAIN IN ME.

GOD CREATED US FOR HIS PLEASURE AND HIS JOY AND HIS PURPOSE. GOD IS HIGHLY HAPPILY GLORIFIED IF HUMAN BEING WILL FUNCTION FOR THE PURPOPOSE FOR WHICH HE HAD CREATED US. When the revelation about Jeremiah 10;23 was given me, I woke up from sleep and started to examine my self. The prophesy is all about Christ Jesus
John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.
    Revelation 4;11

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Since Christ loves us to the extent of dying for our sins, we who have been saved and redeemed back to God as a result of Christ's vicarious death are to recicrocate His love. We are expected from the point of knowing the Lord to live a concecrated life, a life totally dedicated to pleasing Him. It is said that one good turn deserves another. The only proof of our salvation and acceptance of Christ is our day to day right living, watchfulness, evangelistic zeal and a life of prayer. In summary, a true christian must live a life of obedience and service to the One he/she claims to believe in and love. "If you love me, keep my commandments"( John 15:14)."But why do you call me 'Lord, Lord' and not do the things which I say?"( Luke 6:46). Chrit will soon come to take those who are trully His and who are waiting for Him.( 2nd Timothy 2:19). May the Lord help us to repent of all sins, accept Christ and receive the grace to please Him in all things in Jesus' name,Amen.

John 15. is the verse which is very true and it shows us the right way to the everlasting life to the people of all the nations.

It gives us the formular we need to apply so as bear fruits in our christian lives. As we remain in Him,His life flows in us and through us thus causing fruitfulness.
  • Angela Bogaard on John 15 - 12 years ago
I would like to comment on the question about the verse JOHN 15:13/14. You asked where the guidance to this is. He IS the guidance, he gave us the holy spirit to guide us. He never said it would be easy, you will be tested. Many will be called, but few will be chosen,. Many people will fall. Where I am from there are/were many brave souls who have laid there life down for their friends. It is a hard road, but keep your eye on the promise, God does NOT lie. In the beginning there was the Word and the Word was God, and the word became flesh. Think of that, he came to give us the truth and the way, he came to to sacrifice himself to save us and give us eternal life. Is that not worth sacrifising your old ways for? The more you read his word and try to live up to his commands, you will see and FEEL it is the way. He is the definition of LOVE.
  • Jim Williams on John 15:16 - 12 years ago
What comfort to know it is not "God's will that any should perish, but all should come to repentance"; yet what a challenge it is to know He has given the responsibility to us to take the WORD and good new to them; --- now pray about it and God will give us His harvest, which brings joy!
  • Livinus Archard on Matthew 28 - 12 years ago
in Matthew 28 i can compare to john 15:5 .that [father{God} +son{Jesus}+The Holly spirit]=JESUS. no one can say that i love Jesus i don't love god while Jesus is God & is Holy Spirit.
  • Flegence Suneri on John 15:4 - 12 years ago
What happens after the second birth is that the Holy Spirit fills our spirit (ie. our spirit is merged inside the Holy Spirit). In other words we are baptisised by Holy Spirit and this is what is refered in John 15:4 as Christ abiding in us. After this, our spirits are expected to start absorbing the Holy Spirit in them by doing Godly things ie. studying the word, endless prayers etc and this is reffered as Christ abiding in us.
  • Veekee on John 15:16 - 12 years ago
I think this verse is talking about evangelism. Goin out 2 win souls for the kingdom and causing them to remain. By doing so,whatsoever we ask of the father shall be given us.
  • Sigmund Ivarsson on John 15 - 12 years ago
We are his branches only if we bare fruit. This is fruit of the spirit saved for the vintage of the wrath of God. If you have fruit of the flesh it is cast away and your branch is cut off. If you have a religious spirit then you bare fruit of the flesh. Not suitable for the last vintage. God saves the best for last.
  • Sigmund Ivarsson on John 15 - 12 years ago
Blessed are those that lay down their lives for others. You have a circumcised heart because of the authority that has been given to you. So you know what it is like to have such authority. I have the authority to restore the peace of your heart and help restore your life to innocence. To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord.
  • BJ on John 15 - 12 years ago
Having seen a couple of my friends lay down their lives at my command I have to say that john 15:13/14 fails to consider me having to face these brave souls families. where is the guidance for THIS?

We all feel loved when we receive gifts from those we love; could be our Mom, Dad, Boy/Girlfriend, Spouses, Aunties/Uncles etc but you see my friend the Greatest Love is expressed by giving what you value ....
    we all know John3:16.
  • BSP on John 15:13 - 12 years ago
This is the greatest expression of love that Jesus showed. To die for your friends is one thing, but to die for those who are your enemies or who are not your friends is just awe-inspiring. Jesus willingly sacrificing his life was one of the most moving and loving expressions the world has known.

i feel this passage is backed by john 15:13 and as a reminder but to also deny ourselves for our loved ones which is includes the enemy as we are not partial in love nor giving or protection.
  • CLETUS ISEK on Romans 9:16 - 12 years ago
In my limited understanding of Roman 9:16, the Apostle Paul was building on the Words of our Lord Jesus Christ written in John 15:5. Indeed, it is not on our effort that we are successful but the mercy of God working in us.
  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on 1 Corinthians 14 - 12 years ago
If ever men in a church are starting to step down from preaching then God shall choose a man among them to ordain him to preach in that church because it is His will that the fruit in that church should remain ( John 15:16) and with God nothing shall be impossible ( Luke 1:37) just as how Saul was told as His chosen vessel to bear His name ( Acts 9:15).
