Pray to "God" there is only 1 God, and he knows who he is!
Ephesians 4:6
"One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray he responded:
Luke 11:2
"And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth."
Jesus asks us to pray to the God the Father, in His Jesus name:
John 16:23
"And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you."
Christ's union with believers is described as similar to the union between a husband and wife. "They two become one flesh." Paul said that in his flesh dwelleth no good thing. Apart from Christ dwelling in them, Christians cannot be good or do good because there is only one good who is God.
Sinners can become possessed by the devil but if they do not become possessed by the Holy Spirit they shall never enter heaven.
Luke 11:24-26
King James Version
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
To continue what Alex said: The HOLY Spirit : John 4:25, John 14, Luke 1, Luke 3:16,22, Luke 4, Luke 11:13, Acts 2, Mark 13:5-37, Luke 12:12, 2Timothy 1:7, Galatians 5,
It seems that there have been maybe 6000 years of recorded history from Adam to know. Genesis tells us that day and night began verse 3 (Day 1) But we do not know how much time elapsed between Genesis verse 1 and 3. Time did begin with creation, as any movement requires time (rotation of planets, burning of gases in a sun for example).
Romans 1:20 tells us that there is a revelation of God in nature. And Scripture is His revelation as well.
So, things that are discovered in science is part of this natural revelation, but science is not as exacting in this topic as the age of the earth because it was not directly observed by humans. Time was not recorded before humans were created and kept track of the days and seasons. So, we can certainly inquire of science what is theorized and also found in artifacts. many of the things concerning space, laws of nature, and age of things is presented by way of mathematical calculations and physics. Way beyond my comprehension for sure. But, even so, I am glad that there are curious and intellectually brilliant people who delve into these things. Think of Galileo and Copernicus who proved that the earth was a sphere, not flat, and that the earth rotates and orbits around the sun. Many religious top dogs of their day condemned their ideas, but these have been proven true after all.
The Scriptures is not a history or science book. It is God's revelation to mankind for us to know He exists and what He has done, said, and promised. It is our manual for salvation, not our science text to explain all of the mysteries of the created world.
Within the context of spiritual revelation and natural revelation, there is a vast amount of knowledge in both that we will never discover in this age. In the resurrection, we will know so much more, but even then, we will never know all that God knows nor all there is to know about Him. Yet we will know what He deems is needed for us to be eternally satisfied.
"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:"
Because science says that, but the bible shows around 6,000+ years Matthew 1:17
"So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations."
You have from the beginning to the flood then the 2000 yrs since Jesus was crucified as well. Now before Abraham you men living 8 t0 900 years.
So if a person wanted to be biblically learned in the age of the earth you can study it in Chronocals where the genealogies are listed from before the flood and the age of each person.
Science is based on man's theory 1 Corinthians 3:19
"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness."
So does it matter, you either believe or you don't if you do believe then God's word is the authority remember man doesn't believe the creation, they believe a large mass exploded and trillions of perfect round planets, moons, and stars came from that explosion. Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
A believer's source of information, beliefs, and opinions is God's word. For out of the fulness of the heart speaketh thy lips. Read God's word, for faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
Truth is ;. It doesn't say ,.. so we will not know that answer,. till we get home , an have our original spiritual body back an total recall of the whole situation
If the earth is around 5 billion years old and let's say it is then my question is why did God choose to create the earth 5 billion years ago instead of 100 zillion years ago?
I Hope our Father will direct you to the Truth (which is His Word) and that the Spirit will draw you towards it always.
Everyone will fall into one of these two situations:
* Isaiah 6:9-10 - i.e. They have eyes and ears but are unable to see or here because the Spirit of Truth is not in them. They are essentially satisfied as they are.
OR
* Luke 11:1-13 - i.e. They believe that God is reliable to His Word (that His Word is not vanity) and if they earnestly seek He will give reliable answer.
I recommend following the Luke 11 method. Your success in your search for Truth will be directly related to your faith (i.e. effort) in His Word (Which is to say, pray for Truth and understanding of His Word, and always follow that up by opening up the scriptures and studying them intensively in expectation that He is Reliable to His Word). 'Religious freeloaders' are not rewarded with anything that you will be searching for.

No although I read a lot of scripture i didn't come across the one that I would like to have this has been nice to connect with you all it seems to me the scripture I'm looking for is in psalm or proverbs Luke 11:48 is what the scripture says but it doesn't speak about Jesus I pulled out the Matthew Henry commentary on the whole bible so I plan on searching more tomorrow Lord Willing thanks
Thank you David. True, translations have continued to evolve over time & often, & in an attempt for making it more understandable to succeeding generations, they have sometimes lost the original meaning of the word. I guess, those of us who read from the KJV are at fault also, as it is simply an 'older' English translation/wording of the original languages. And we know that we often need to go back to the originals to learn about the matter more clearly.
A recent example we've been dealing with on KJBO, is the matter of 'gods', where the original word is 'Elohim'. One can be pedantic & state that the word only applies to the True God, therefore every appearance of the word must mean that men, angels, etc. must also be 'a god' as well; whereas that generic name has other meanings which need correct application in context. Where I get troubled is when the newer translations do not remain faithful to the original languages because of their quest to make verses more understandable, or even omitting verses altogether.
In regards to 'devils', in Luke 11:15 we read, "But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils." In the Greek, the word is 'daimonion', from which of course, we get 'demons', & this is defined as 'evil spirits, heathen deities, demons'. However, the KJV chooses to use 'devils', which is also correct. I don't believe anything is lost by using 'demons or evil spirits'.
How to be free from Oppression - In Reply - 4 years ago
What you're dealing with is demonic. Unbelievers don't know they've been taken hostage.
Believers know they've been snared. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can break the ties that bind us. We pray and ask for HELP to break the bonds and be freed. We do that by depending upon what Jesus did on the Cross to set us free. He paid in blood. Satan nor demons have AUTHORITY to cross that blood and take a Christian captive. Whom the Son sets free, is free Indeed.
Faith in Christ stands up and takes that authority back! Ephesians 6. The Helmet of Salvation. Start pleading the blood of Jesus when THE TEMPTER shows up. The more scripture you know__the more ammo you have to shoot back at the evil. Read about Jesus 40 day fast after his baptism. "IT IS WRITTEN_____ " you fill in that blank with a verse, like He did. It absolutely works. We're weak often because we fill our minds with television, novels and video games.
FILL UP ON JESUS.

Roots... "The Works of the Flesh," Galatians 5:19-21.
"By their fruits you will know all men," Matthew 7:20. According to Matthew 6:10; 11:12; 12:29; 16:18; 18:18; 28:18 BIND: Spirit of Bondage
LOOSE: Liberty, Spirit of Adoption:

You're going to feel silly, because demons are invisible. Eph.6
On YouTube, watch Charles Capps: Authority of the Believer. Take notes. When you get free, tell others how to be free.
Don't be anesthetized by television. Read more New Testament Bible.
Ask God to help you make a comprehensive list of your sins.
Confess every sin that the Holy Spirit calls to your remembrance and accept God's forgiveness ( 1 John 1:9).
Seek forgiveness from all whom you have offended, and forgive all who have hurt you ( Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3,4).
Make restitution as the Holy Spirit leads you.
Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit according to His command in Ephesians 5:18 and His promise in 1 John 5:14,15.
Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Master; refuse to obey your worldly nature ( Romans 12:1,2).
Meditate on the attributes of God, His love, sovereignty, power, wisdom, faithfulness, grace, compassion, and others ( Psalm 48:9,10; 103:1-8, 11-13).
Begin your time of fasting and prayer with an expectant heart ( Hebrews 11:6).
Do not underestimate spiritual opposition. Satan sometimes intensifies the natural battle between body and spirit ( Galatians 5:16,17).
If you're married with kids, you'll still need to care for them. Attend to your duties, then excuse yourself back to your "closet".
I fast from food and ALL MEDIA. The idea is fast from food, AND feast on the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to shield you from interruptions, like phone calls, people who drop in unannounced or uninvited.
Have on hand, bouillon, fruit juice, lots of water. Jesus hungered after his fast. (he drank water.)
If you are diabetic or on serious meds, check your blood sugar if you feel bad. Dehydration will stop a fast.
Read the Gospels. Spend time in praise and worship. You can do this at work with headphones on. Whatever you do; no long faces. Bathe and dress normal.
Write Eph. 6 on a piece of paper and keep it before you. Don't tell anyone you're on fast. Just your husband. Satan will try to make you mad, feel unspiritual. Jesus used SCRIPTURE to counter attack satans attacks.
It's good to read aloud. We have gates: ears, eyes, mouth, a heart of joy. The Word goes in through all gates.
MI HA - Luke 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
MI this is Jesus talking I believe if he said (these ought ye to have done) I should do as Jesus said, It is in Luke 11:42
In the great day of judgement, who is the judge, and in what manner will you be judged?
Here's a hint:
Revelation 22:12-14
12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Don't believe Jesus will judge you as he states above?
Then believe what Jesus states here in scripture:
Matthew 7:14
14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
FEW WILL FIND IT!!!!!!!!
Stay focused on the true WORD!
Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Man can, and will deceive. If a man's words don't agree with Jesus Christs words/scripture then it is False, discard it!
Stay focused on the WORD.
Luke 11:28
"But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it."

More Distinctions In God's TWO Different Programs!:
Prophecy/Law: 15) The Two "Main" (of 12) baptismS = A) water, For remission of sins! ( Matthew 3:5-6Mark 1:4Luke 3:3John 1:31Luke 7:29-30Acts 10:37Matthew 28:19Mark 16:16Acts 2:38Acts 22:16Ezekiel 36:25)
B) "WITH" The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders! ( Isaiah 44:3Matthew 3:11Mark 1:8, 16:17-18 Luke 24:49Acts 2:17-18, 38 Acts 8:15-17Acts 11:16)
Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From {RDf} "Things That DIFFER!":
Mystery/GRACE!: 15) Only ONE Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION, Spiritually "Identifying" members In (The Body Of) CHRIST! ( Ephesians 4:5Colossians 2:12Galatians 3:27Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13) 'ONE' = not two...
Prophecy/Law: 16) Forgive others First, Then God Will Forgive! ( Matthew 6:14-15, 18:35; Mark 11:25-26; Luke 6:37)
RDf Mystery/GRACE!: 16) Forgive others Because CHRIST Has Already Forgiven us! ( Ephesians 4:32)
Prophecy/Law: 17) Taught how/what to pray! ( Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2)
RDf Mystery/GRACE!: 17a) we Are Exhorted to "...Make our requests known Unto God!" ( Philippians 4:6) While, At The Same Time, God "Teaches":
17b) Concerning our infirmities, we "know Not" what to pray "as we ought," But "The Spirit Intercedeth For us, According To The Will Of God!..." ( Romans 8:26)
Prophecy/Law {earthly!}: 18) "watchmen," {as CHRIST Told the Jews On the earth!}, looking for The "wicked one, the deceiving man of Sin" And "signs" ( Matthew 24)
RDf Mystery/GRACE {Heavenly!}: 18) ambassadors {As CHRIST Told Paul, From Heaven!} Looking, Watching, & Waiting For The Holy One, The LORD JESUS CHRIST {From Heaven!} ( Romans 8:18, 19, 23, 25; 1 Corinthians 1:7; Ephesians 6:12-18; Philippians 3:20; Colossians 3:2, 4:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:5-11; 2 Thessalonians 3:5; Titus 2:13)
Hi Karen First there is no comparison of God Almighties power in relationship to satans. In Gospel of Luke 11:20 Jesus Christ uses a figure of speech saying if I with the finger of God sort of like flicking an ant off your body no effort, cast out devils. Biblically Gabriel is a messenger for God Daniel 8:16 + 9:21 also Luke 1:19 + 1:26. Michael is for the most part a warrior Daniel 10:13+21 + 12:1 also Jude 9 and Rev.12:7.
Now karen that being said here's a few other references to other angels and what they were sent to do Mathew 4:11 angels were sent to minister to Jesus Christ after being tempted, angels were sent to sodom and gomorrah to get lot and His wife and daughters out of town with specific instructions to obey. so angels are messengers or agents sent by God to do His Work for man .
My favorite example is Hebrews 1:11 ministering spirits sent forth to minster for them who shall be heirs of salvation. So the battle is between the true God and His messengers and satan and His messengers, both sides have them. In His Service
Returning to God with All Our Heart - In Reply - 4 years ago
It is such a joy to meet someone who can barely believe the wonders that God is willing to show to those who love and are excited, about what He has prepared for us to find.
I decided a long time ago to believe every single thing God has said in His Word. It's not hidden to those who understand God is Creator; willing to show us the mysteries. Sometimes I go outside at night and just stare upwards...knowing that He's looking at me.
I threw off doubts, like Lazarus was encased in the wrappings of his shroud; after Jesus told him to come forth! Luke 11:43-44, 25-26
I was out at this bird sanctuary in a frozen January looking at cranes standing on floating blocks of ice. I remark how dead everything looks. My friend says, Not! Flips over a rock and I kneel down to see this whole "bug city" happily doing bug things. I've never forgotten how my unbelief turned into Wonder. When life looks really dead and standstill; flip over the rock.
Doubt and unbelief are killers. Life is way more interesting than television. I resent advertisers attempting to capture my loyalty to yucky hamburgers. I have a photo of a mother duck with 8 tiny babies on her back, and it makes me think of God. He is so much closer than we think. He loves us and wants to show us things...if we will just slow down and take a walk with Him. I guess Romans 1 captures my heart and loyalty to God, who has made all of this so we can clearly see Him.
Why is it so hard to tell others, like the Samarian woman at the well who met Jesus and ran fast as she could to tell others, COME SEE A MAN..who told me all the words of my life!!
He is on every page in the Bible. Your joy, gives Him joy in your life. Even on the dark, cloudy days. He's refreshing the earth :)
Maybe if we turn again towards our Lord, the rains will return and end this drought in our land?
Stop the famine, of not hearing the Word of God. Tell of his Mighty Love.
Hello Mary. If you're looking for what we term as the "Lord's Prayer", then you can find it in Matthew 6:9-13.
Please note, that this was a special prayer that Jesus taught His disciples ( Luke 11:1) because at that time Jewish Rabbis often gave their followers a special prayer or recitation as a part of their instructions & disciplines. We can use the Lord's Prayer very meaningfully today also, but shouldn't restrict ourselves only to those words, as our Heavenly Father wants to hear our prayers as the expression from our hearts (filled with praise, thanksgiving, & requests), given in faith.

Genesis 2:2,3 (set Sabbath apart), Exodus 16:19-30 (significant differece on Sabbath) , * Exodus 23:11, Exodus 20:11 (blessed & set apart), * Exodus 23:12, Exodus 31:15, Exodus 34:21, Exodus 35:2, Leviticus 16:29-34 (atonement), Leviticus 23:1-10, (seventh day & Passover), * Leviticus 23:21-22, Leviticus 23:27-29 (atonement), Leviticus 23:28-32, * Deuteronomy 5:14, 2 Chronicles 2:4 (forever to Israel), * Isaiah 1:11-18, * Isaiah 56:1-8, * Isaiah 58:6-14,
Jesus observed Matthew 12:8, Mark 1:21, Mark 6:2, Mark 15:42, Luke 4:16,
Jesus set examples on Sabbath * Matthew 12, * Mark 2, * Mark 3, * Luke 6, & many more.
* please note the (*s) these were scriptures that showed compassion & the importance to GOD. (Opposite: Luke 11:42-46 hypocrisy)
By observing the Sabbath do we= Matthew 25:31-46,
Believers know they've been snared.
Spirit of Bondage
Manifestations - Fears, Addictions (Drugs, Alcohol, Cigarettes, Food, Etcetera...), Fear of Death, Captivity to Satan, Servant of Corruption, Compulsive Sin, Bondage to Sin
Scriptures: ( Romans 6:16; 7:23; 8:15; 2 Peter 2:19; Hebrews 2:14-15; Luke 8:23; John 8:34; Acts 8:23; Proverbs 5:2; 2 Timothy 2:26)
Spirit of God: Pure Spirit, Holiness, Commitment, Insatiable
Ever Increasing Hunger for the Holy Spirit.
You're going to feel silly, because demons are invisible. Eph.6
On YouTube, watch Charles Capps: Authority of the Believer. Take notes. When you get free, tell others how to be free.
Don't be anesthetized by television. Read more New Testament Bible.
** Luke 11:24-26 garnish means Bible and Faith
MI this is Jesus talking I believe if he said (these ought ye to have done) I should do as Jesus said, It is in Luke 11:42
The WORD!
God Bless.

Prophecy/Law: 15) The Two "Main" (of 12) baptismS = A) water, For remission of sins! ( Matthew 3:5-6 Mark 1:4 Luke 3:3 John 1:31 Luke 7:29-30 Acts 10:37 Matthew 28:19 Mark 16:16 Acts 2:38 Acts 22:16 Ezekiel 36:25)

( Ephesians 4:5 Colossians 2:12 Galatians 3:27 Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13) 'ONE' = not two...

Heavenly GRACE/Mystery fellowship, today? ( 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 1:3-9; Ephesians 3:9)
God bless you
