"And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds." There has never been a problem with news and information getting out among the people, and all Israel knew what was reported about Jesus coming into the world. We too have been told all things by God.

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." God in His great love and very good purposes has always had in His heart to save man, and to undo what the devil and sin has done to destroy us. Oh that all His works would praise Him!

To O. Bakre - I like the way you grouped the names together under one subject. Makes researching them easy. The Lord blessed you with that idea.

"And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons." Luke 2:21-24 8 days old according to God Almighty, 8 days.

"And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions." Luke 2:45-46

Luke surely was a man of great knowledge because he know how the people would react to unusual events and that word would be spread very rapidly which would ignite the explosion necessary for God plan to be implemented.

Imagine to have been one of those shepherds who got to witness a multitude of angels and then be able to go and see the newborn Jesus! I would like to have been one of those shepherds above anyone else in history!
Notice the shepherds were there at the manger but the wise men from the East were not. They followed the star and met Jesus as a young child.

The shepherds got a fantastic piece of news!!! I believe that after seeing the Christ, in their excitement, must have noised it abroad right there in Bethlehem. But guess what??? The peiple Having ears they listened but didn't really hear.....scriptural...

Bo is correct, praise God! Man's hell is the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience which will soon include world-wide angst, horrors and painful deaths never experienced before. Pray you escape this wrath!! Eternal hell fire is man-made theology tradition inspired by Satan. Wisdom of Solomon 11:26 But thou sparest all: for they are thine, O Lord, thou lover of souls. Luke 2:23 As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord Thank You LORD for Your Lovingkindness, for Your Mercy!

I wonder why God chose shepherds as the first to know of Jesus. I know it says the shepherds made it known 17 but who do they see out in the pastures day by day?

Reference to verses 3-4 and in Luke 2:21-22 we see Jesus as a child sympathies with all children. He is truly salvation for all. Praise God!
  • Juancho on Luke 2:14 - 9 years ago
Didn't know the gospel acclamation originated with THAT verse.
  • Robert Downey on Luke 2:2 - 9 years ago
One needs to keep in mind that the birth of Christ divided time between BC and AD, so he can 't be born in BC. In 1582 Pope Gregory didn 't do us any favors in not making the correction to God 's reckoning and that of J. Caesar. Luke has given us the correct clues, and Zumpt has it right.
  • Vernell rolle on Luke 2:52 - 9 years ago

Bozki, I think as long as we get right with God before we die we will be alright. Never knowing when we will die means we should be right with God all the time and ready to at anytime. Praise God for Salvation! And Thank you Jesus for saving my soul!
  • Jacob on Acts 10 - 10 years ago
Insight 's blind sight Matt 15:14 is contrary to Scripture in light of Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. He is the Lord at birth. That would qualify Him of having the Holy Ghost 1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
  • Ron Huff on Luke 2 - 10 years ago
I think Luke 2:1-3 was a fulfillment of God saying in the 39th chapter of Ezekiel 29th verse that he would bring ALL Jews back to their homeland. that 's the only time I know of that ALL Jews came back to Israel.
