    Luke 13;3,5

The word 'Repent' means a lot more than what people by nature have been conditioned to believe. It is the key principle of all the teachings of Jesus Christ and the axiom (basis) of the Word of God and a prerequisite and primary requirement for the salvation of mankind. It actually means the changing of spirits - to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).

For a better understanding and the 'spiritual truth' of what it means to repent, and learn how and by whom mankind has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9) and what people must do to be reunited with the true and living God, we invite you to seek Him according to the Spirit of truth ( Matthew 7:7; John14:17).

You need not that any man teach you ( Isaiah 54:13; 6:45; 1 John 2:27), as mankind follows after an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Rev. 12:9).

It is only by revelation of God that you will come to know Christ ( Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 1:16; Eph. 3:3,5; Rev. 1:1) and only then will you be able to overcome the spirit of this world ( 1 John 5:4; Rev. 3:21).

what was the main point in St. Luke 2:39-52?
  • Mishael - In Reply on Psalms 148:2 - 6 years ago
That's not true. His earth dad, Joseph, grew up with the Torah no doubt and had knowledge about the awaited Messiah. He just didn't know Mary had been chosen; and he had been chosen. Both were descended from King David; very distant cousins.

Slowly study Luke 1-2. Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart! Mary and Joseph both knew that Jesus was theirs only a little time.

    See also: Luke 2:33, 2:48, 51.

    1 Timothy 3:16

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." King James Version (KJV)

God never changes. Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Jesus never changes. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

God is the only Saviour. "I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." Isaiah 43:11

To the only wise God our Saviour... Jude 1:12

    God our Saviour. Titus 2:10

...we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour. I Timothy 4:10

...the Christ, the Saviour of the world. John 4:42

...the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 1:4

Neither is there salvation in any other (than Jesus): for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

...salvation... is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a SAVIOUR, which is CHRIST the LORD.

Note: This SAVIOR /CHRIST the LORD is born and HE shall establish SALVATION for all of us /mankind. Through CHRIST (see John 3:16-21) the opportunity to be SAVED is made available to all, thereby we can rightly return to JEHOVAH /GOD and avoid Revelation 20:15.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. Was subject unto them? Did they spank his little butt for worrying them?

Amen. It is sad and regrettable that men have done damage to the faith of many people and have successfully overthrown the faith of millions though corrupt and distorted translation of the bible based upon apocryphal MSS. Some relevant examples are: St. John 7:53-8:11 1 John 5:7 St. Mark, and in St. Luke 2:33 which calls Joseph the father of Jesus in the NASB, and other translations.

Jesus in my past l got on my knees crying out to thee in a harsh trial. I felt you so strong next to me, l wrote a song ON MY KNEES. I caught a glimpse of you and your white robe. How caring you were with me. I wrote that song of how l felt, when you were there. It later became a Blessing to many homeless and hurting people. I brought in two other strangers God sent me. Helped many. Am BLESSED!!

There are hidden gems of good examples in the Bible. Anna is a great example. Though briefly mentioned her faith was not forgotten by our Heavenly Father and she was mentioned in the gospel accounts. Though a widow and older in years, she maintained a good spiritual routine and remained active in God Service. We should imitate her example to remain faithful to God all our lives.

Glory to God for sending His own Son (God incarnate) to be born of a virgin and to die for us on the cross so that we could be saved from our sins. What a Saviour! I have not observed Christmas for over thirty years because I believe that mixing pagan tradition with His holy birth dishonors my Saviour. If God wanted us to observe Jesus' birth would He not have revealed this to us in His Word?
