Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: ( Amos 8:11).
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. ( John 12:32).
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. ( Luke 4:20).
I write this post basically as an indebtment to myself as to failings in fulfilling the Great Commission. The enemy would like to have us all rendered useless; sitting in the sidelines or not having the fullness of joy as we spread the Good News. Many of us no doubt are tired; of this old world and its decrepit systems; the flesh and the Devil in whatever order their situation finds most applicable to their individual misery. This bad news about the inevitable events of the end times can't be dealt with effectively if there is still baggage holding us captive. In our flesh we simply can't fathom the meaning of all of our comforts being taken away which can happen in persecution now and today; but surely is coming in spades after our removal from this place.
Now the world when we are with the Lord in heaven will be relieved that they can finally initiate their view of utopia; according to their own desires for a world of their own imaginations when the man of sin comes in his own name yet eventually declares himself to be God. Whether they are not fully cognizant of the event or more likely deliberately rejecting the truth because they didn't love it; they will find this Antichrist irresistable. Whether it is filling the Western European vacuum since World War 2 of a dictator of charisma; or a religious fulfillment of all faiths including no doubt ALL of apostate "Christians" left behind the New Age prophecy of our "reeducation" will commence and the "evolutionary leap" for mankind set in motion.
Hi again "Lisanne" nice to hear from you, Jesus is a real topic of conversation, that never goes away, and will never die. We belong there with Him.
Many have prayed for me over the years, and that Jesus has held his hand over me I am pretty sure. So thank you for your intercession. Remember He care for what was small and weak.
Reading today
1 Cor 4:6-13 There is a lot going on in the world today. And in Israel even more. Maybe there is some fake news thrown in too. Such as increases stress and uncertainty. Let them go. Because here it says; we are already full! We live in a time where this has great activity, immorality and idolatry we can only trust the Lord. But as we see, my family and relatives alsow, they have begun to search anyway. It is of all times, we have our inheritances which are a sure act in relation to the Lord. And He does not take away anyone who has intended to come to Him. And I agree, how much chocolate spread and stuff should we have that day. But you know, to me it seems like we're in some kind of labor. Because I've already had relatives back home who really need help. And this is where the Lord helps us to distinguish who truly sees their own condition. And we have to remember Luke 4:4
Thank you for the conversation and may the Lord continue to give us wisdom and the spirit of understanding so that we can see and hear and distinguish right from wrong. Amen in Jesus Name. Love you, continue to love yours. Not all ppl have the ability to love and share, it is actually a great grace. See you.
If I'm not mistaken, under Jewish law, and please don't quote me on this because I would have to go search where I had read this, but there were always two separate deeds involved in property ownership. The way it worked was if I sold you some property, there would be an open deed and a sealed deed. The sealed deed would be locked away in a safe place and I as the original property owner would be the only one who could break the seal and take back the property.
Even though you bought the property from me, if at any time I decided to take the property back, you would have to forfeit it back to me by law because I am the original and rightful owner. It doesn't seem fair, but from what I read, that's how it worked. Again, please don't quote me on this. I would have to do some further research as time permits.
Now, with Christ coming and being the only one qualified to break the seal on this scroll which I believe is the property deed to the earth, this is where He takes back full possession of what is rightfully His.
So yes, God is the rightful owner of all of creation. Something else to consider is that when God created the earth, He gave it to man (Adam). But through Adam's sin, he forfeited it over to Satan. When we read the account in Luke 4:5-7 where Satan shows Jesus all the kingdoms of the world, Satan tells Jesus that he will give all of this to Him if He would just bow down and worship him.
Satan is asking, do you want the authority of all these things and the glory of them, because they are mine? It was given to me and I can give them to whomever I wish. Jesus didn't even respond with a response of you can't do that. The reason being is because Satan was telling the truth.
Dear "Ruben" These are hard times we live in with many different things that lure us away from the Lord's way. In this we need the Holy Spirit. When you have been given a heavenly gift to distinguish between good and evil. Then it is so that we must fail and learn from all things, right? So no one must condemn you, not even yourself. We must be Jesus's. He will lead you home to Him. As long as we repent from our hearts, I believe that the Lord Jesus, who knows all things, is a forgiving God. He was even God in the Old Testament. Forgiving God. I recommend you read the Old Testament. There you can get real information about how God is and works for His cause. If you have done so, read it again. It is important that we do not give up. You must pray in faith. We will not get anything done if we do not believe what we are asking for. Therefore, we must all know the Word of God. Know what we are talking about, simply. We have received everything, you see. But the problem is for us to see it, live in it, believe it and give thanks for things that we have not yet seen. No one is trained right away, no one ever will be, so you're in good company. And we have to believe that we'll get what we ask for. So we shouldn't be there now, always be happy, give thanks for all things, preach the gospel. Because dear friend, it is the words you say that confess who you are. Understand me correctly: Even Jesus used the words against the spiritual world we struggle against every day. Look in Luke 4:1-13. All the words that Jesus answers with are in the OT already written down in the Word of God, Amen we pray for you Ruben that you will wake up from the confusion. Be cleansed in Jesus Christ Holy Name Amen!
Love u in Christ and never loose hope. And stand against it, not let your heart be worried. Jesus is for all of us, He want to save all. Be free in Jesus name, Amen. Be happy and joyful that you have learned and known Jesus Christ. Never confess the bad things in life, only forgivness
John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Isaiah 52:14 "As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:"
Belief in the Son was emphasized even by John the Baptist as a second witness as Jesus started His public ministry ( John 3:23-36). Nonetheless He often hid who He was; particularly early in His ministry ( Matt. 16:20 may be a later statement to this affect). As stated in my last post He often told people to tell no man about who did a miracle ( Matt. 8:4) so He didn't want any necessary noteriety. Those who didn't have eyes to see and ears to hear ( Matt. 13:16) simply thought He was a Prophet; or good man at best; or an illegitimate child to Mary ( John 8:41).
Given these facts and the blindness of man without the revelation of God ( 2 Cor. 4:4) we shouldn't be surprised by the world's expectations of a superman or bermensch as Neche called this individual. Men who didn't see the Lord as coming to save rather than destroy men were blind to their own state. They should have realized who Christ was regarding the clear prophecies particularly in Isaiah 53. There was a reason for the delay in what indeed will involve Christ coming to destroy His enemies and establish His Kingdom on earth; and some Jews seem to have the concept of two different figures to make sense of apparently diametrically opposed characteristics of Christ as suffering servant and conquering King.
The fact is that God planned it so the nation of Israel would be blind in part until the fullness of the Gentiles came in ( Romans 11:25). Given the fact that Naaman the Syrian and the widow who Elijah helped to feed and raise her child to life were Gentiles (Jesus enraged the Pharisees mentioning that God exclusively met her need at the expense of many others with similar situations that were Jews at that time ( Luke 4:25) was important.
In one sense Christ was different than everyone else in His humanity. His thoughts and life were pure yet certainly the enemy likely put thoughts of sins in his mind common to man such as lust; hating his enemies; etc. Being the Son of God Satan couldn't accuse Him of anything done wrong; and also had unique temptations as we see when Jesus was led into the wilderness to fast for 40 days. Making stones into bread isn't something anyone can do as a mere man. Throwing Himself down in a suicidal move wasn't going to fly and neither was worshipping Satan. The enemy may offer these things from time to time but only will succeed with Antichrist in the future.
Regarding my last post the Messiah WAS according to the Prophets supposed to come to rule and subdue the nations of the world but that was in the Second Coming; the first was as the suffering servant prophesied in Isaiah 51; hence Isaiah 61 was cut short in His temple proclamation ( Luke 4:16-30). Thus everything according to man's understanding was backwards. Jesus did not come:
As from a regal or wealthy family of notoriety although fulfilled the prophecies as being a descendant of David
To show off His Divinity by signs; wonders and miracles as brought out by the faithlessness of His own hometown ( Mark 6:4).
To allow Himself to be made King by force (as shown in a verse quoted earlier ( John 6:15).
To escape persecution; or to die a peaceful honorable death.
These things bring out what the world's standards are for the "Perfect Man" and who the truly perfect man was. Being considered a pathetic low life is what made Monty Python's sarcastic and disgraceful skit about the Crucifixion as "entertainment" in "Always look at the Bright Side of Life" means. In the next post I will examine further what the world is looking for (soon to be fulfilled in Antichrist); as their superhuman hero to save the planet.
And theearthwas without form, andvoid; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The second was Noah's food.
Genesis 6:17
And, behold, I, even I, do bring afloodof waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
The third is the church age and the Rapture inwhich was revealed to Apostle Paul in a revelation and we are living in it right now.
Jesus stop reading in the middle of the verse. Did Jesus Christ keep the third Gap Theory a secret ?
Luke 4:18-19
18 The Spirit of the Lordisupon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Note: Jesus was reading Isaiah 61:1-2 , but stop in the middle of chapter 2. Jesus knew the Church of Grace was going to begin.
What Jesus said that day was important in describing the times in which he ministered, but he closed the book before he finished the sentence in Isaiah.
Equally important as what he read before he sat down, was what he purposely did not read all of the verses
The sentence inIsaiah 61:2continues:
"and the day of vengeance of our God" - Isaiah 61:2
Why did Jesus Christ keep the resurrection a secret from the Twelve Disiples ? ? ?
Mark 9:9-10
9And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
10And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
Thanks, brother, I'm not the best at putting on paper my understanding. I know some Scriptures refer to the Holy Spirit as he, but the Spirit is the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God dwells in us, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 3:16 and, more. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that does the work of God, Romans 15:19, Jesus did the miracles by the Holy Spirit, Matthew 12:28, Luke 4:18, Acts 10:38, Hebrews 2:4.
Jesus said the words He spoke were not His words but the Fathers and God did the works, this was done by the Holy Spirit through Jesus. John 14:10. Jesus said the Holy Spirit/Comforter proceedeth from the Father John 15:26, Jesus said the Holy Ghost will not speak of himself but what he is told, so the Holy Spirit is under the direction of the Father and Jesus, John 16:13.
All the salutations are from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is not in any salutations. In Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb is the temple of it. No Holy Spirit, what I see in Scripture is the Holy Spirit is the conduit that God works through and now Jesus as well.
I hope this gives you enough info to see how I see the Holy Spirit and I know that is not what many believe. I do not want to offend and I hope I don't, but this is what I see in Scripture. I do not see the Holy Spirit as a person but as the power of God that surrounds this earth by which God and Jesus dwell in us to communicate, guide, and comfort us.
Was Jesus in heaven before creation? My understanding is no. Many will say Jesus is part of a Triune God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three distinct persons, all co-equal, and co-eternal so that would put Him in heaven before creation.
God is a Spirit John 4:24, so if Jesus were in heaven His form would be Spirit. Are there verses on their own that would support the Trinity, yes. But we must keep a verse in context and compare it to other Scriptures about the same subject and not start with the answer, or a preconceived idea. We should let the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit give us the answer and meaning.
A few thoughts. In John 1:1 what beginning is John referring to, the beginning of creation or the beginning of Jesus's ministry, when He was anointed with the Holy Ghost becoming the Messiah, Matthew 4:16-17. We see the same introduction in 1 John 1:1 and others. In Revelation 19:13 Jesus's name is called the Word of God is that saying Jesus is God?
God was manifested in Jesus through the Holy Spirit, 1 John 1:1, Luke 4:18, John 14:10. The life eternal that was with God was manifested on earth through Jesus that we may fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ 1 John 1:2-7.
I will not go on and on but to me, there is one problem the Trinity doctrine creates I cannot find an answer.
God is perfect and cannot change, in the doctrine that would be the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The law was made for man and a man had to fulfill it. A man who could sin had to live a perfect life without sin to pay the penalty. Jesus did and paid the penalties for sin with His death. God cannot die and God cannot sin nor can He be tempted James 1:13, so He could not fulfill the law. Jesus was born without sin as the first Adam but could sin, the first Adam was not obedient and sinned. The last Adam, Jesus, was obedient to the Father and sinned not Romans 5:19. If God sacrificed Himself John 3:16 is not true.
I also believe there were 2 Sabbaths that week. "The weekly Sabbath and perhaps the yearly"
Matthew 28:1 may suggest that.
"In the end of the "SABBATH" as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre..
From my research "Which may or may not be correct " In the original the Sabbath used here in this verse is in the Plural. (Sabbaths)
Also, this may have been the year of Jubilee
Jesus may have made reference to this in
Luke 4:18-19. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Q:"How does the time relates to the season for which the lives of the four beasts were prolonged?
A: In Daniel's vision the four beasts coming up diverse from one another owe to "the four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth,". They are as much under the command as the four angels "which are bound in the great river Euphrates./And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men."(Re.9:14-15;7:1; Dan.7:2,12)
The Law sets judgment and the books were opened' so there is only "now" that any man in his Son could be ensured from harm according to the everlasting covenant. "Now is the day of salvation established the day decreed for him guarantees their safety. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." The word of God has therefore how the two worlds framed by the word of God shall be completely reconciled. In these there is no place for disbelief since faith' the pure speech is the DNA of the family of God. For this reason Jesus would tell those who would seize him, "When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness."( Luke 22:53). Similarly time is associated with the Son and when he was in Nazareth he read from the day's portion of reading, he fulfilled the word concerning him,"To preach the acceptable year of the Lord".( Luke 4:16-19)
Knowledge of the holy is understanding which is written in every man. So inability to know the times is a proof that there is no place for the word of God in a disbeliever. "Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD."(Je.8:7). "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time," (Ep.5:15-17
God sent his Son as the true Light to the world and the Word had set his ministry according as the scripture may be fulfilled. "Recovering of sight to the blind" ( Luke 4:18) was one among them. Before him stood the blind. "When Jesus had said this, He spit on the ground, made some mud, and applied it to the man's eyes." (John9:6) Like chaff what is dust? Insignificant is it not? But Jesus told his disciples,"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet."(Matt.10:16). Whosoever and the dust of the house or the city and intrinsically bound. In geology dust is the result of the weathering process, but no matter, it represent the ungodly society of men. Similarly what is a shoe lace? Abraham would not even receive a shoe latchet,"And that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich." Wealth of the king of Sodom was of Satan who in according him pomp and privileges, made him a servant to sin. Abraham in trusting God for his blessings placed himself under the Law of the Spirit. The same Law governing the everlasting covenant made him observe a life of separation. The disciples were to shake off the dust of their feet for a witness.
Jesus spat on the ground, a sign even as his blood is, that his life was on the line. Death and resurrection would come later. By the same token we have the miry clay mentioned in the king's dream. "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."(Dan.2:43) Iron is the brute force, a quality of the beast and other sons of perdition..("But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces,". Imposter churches are covenant breakers to compromise with Satan. They are servants to sin for praise of men. They shall be smashed and thrown to winds as was in the king's dream.
Finding an Attribute of God for the Letter X is difficult using and English word, but the Greek word "Xristos" but I am not sure if this is how it is spelled. Even so, I will go with this.
God is XRISTOS
This is the Greek equivalent to the Hebrew Mashiach (Messiah in English)
The XRISTOS is Jesus, the divine Father's divine Son incarnated to fulfill the promises made in the OT of a coming Messiah, one who is anointed and is the foretold prophet, priest and king. The Messiah was to conquer and free Israel from their bondage. The Jews believed that the Messiah would release them from the rule of the Romans as their Redeemer and proceed to rule the whole world with righteousness and justice.
The Bible also describes the Messiah as " the Holy One of Israel" The demons called Jesus this when encountering Jesus. Only God is the: "Holy One" of Israel, which, in the OT was a title for God alone.
At the temple when Jesus read from the scroll from Isaiah 61 He identified Himself as the promised Messiah saying, today this is fulfilled in your hearing" to the scribes and teachers.( luke 4:17-21)
Peter Identified Jesus as the Xristos, ( Mt. 16:16( when Jesus asked "Who do you say that I am?"
Jesus the Xristos, being God in the flesh is the long awaited "Seed" of the woman promised to Adam and Eve to "crush the head of the serpent, meaning, He will conquer the devil, his works, and sin. He did this on the cross.
The Jews are still looking for the coming of their Messiah, rejecting that Jesus is He and has already come to save them from their sins and will come again to rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords on the earth as He is reigning in heaven now.
Jesus is our Messiah in all the ways He has been prophesized to be according to what God meant when He promised His coming. The Jews got it wrong in the way they interpreted what the Messiah would be like and what He would do. Many people in the world today get it wrong when they see Jesus as only a great human person.
Again, I will return to what I said to you in my last post to you. I do not wish to engage in a prolonged discussion with you. But I have a few things to say to you concerning this post of yours.
I agree that Satan knows a lot that we do not know, but the Scriptures also say that things revealed concerning things that come from the Spirit of God are only discerned by those who have the Spirit of God dwelling in them. Satan did not have the Spirit, so He would not have known or understand a lot of things that God knew or even revealed by His Spirit in and through the prophets.
See 1 Cor. 2:14
Satan was a glorious creature who became God's opponent, not God's opposite. He is far lesser than God and does not have the attributes of omniscience, omnipotence, or omni-presence. He can implant ideas into someone's mind, but I don't read anywhere that Satan can read minds.
Also, to go back to your previous response to me, If you read Luke 4:1-2 and Mark 1:12-13 you will note that the Scriptures say that Jesus went into the wilderness to be tempted for 40 days. The word used for "tempted" in Greek means a continuous action. That is why I said that the devil was tempting Jesus "probing" or "testing" (the Greek word used for tempting means this) Jesus for 40 days. He was trying to find out if Jesus truly was the Son of God, whether He was simply human, or
I would to give my thoughts on "The temptation or testing/proving of Satan" and whether he knew Jesus was the Son of God or not in Luke 4:1-13.
First I would like to say I believe he knew Jesus was the Son of God.
I also believe he knew Jesus was coming to this world by way of the Prophet's and perhaps the first prophecy recorded given to him in Genesis 3:15. "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and HER SEED; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Immediately the line by which the seed would come was persecuted from there on.
The seed of the woman is biologically wrong and should raise eyebrows.
This is directly spoken to Eve but also depicts Israel.
Seed of the woman also depicts the father of this child would be God.
When we come to the prophets he can see a clear picture.
So why would Satan even try to test the Son of God?
There's two things here to consider.
1) We have to consider verse 1 if Luke 4. "And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and WAS LED BY THE SPIRIT INTO THE WILDERNESS,
This was orchestrated by the Spirit! Jesus was presented to be tested!
Not to see if he would fail it was to show he was who the Scripture say he was.
2) Satan used the same method he used on Eve knowing she was flesh.
He knew Jesus was the Son of God but he tried to see if there was a kink in his humanity.
GOD's Kingdom is among us,not as a ruler of the world though the Power that it has,it yet is not ruling the nations, quite the opposite, who really is ruling them in whole world is the Devil- Luke 4:5-7-,he offered it to JESUS saying:All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them:for that is delivered unto me;and to whomsoever I will I give it.
The world is in the way the Devil likes,so where is the Kingdom of GOD?The Kingdom of GOD MUST be conquered in LITERAL fulfillment of Revelation 6:1-2; 11:15-18; 12:10-12,take a look.By the way, where is the warriors of GOD's Kingdom?Sleeping?Or,by analogy, being guided by the angel of Sardis or Laodiceans- Revelation 3:1-6&14-19?Terrible,so terrible as happened in the Samuel's time: 1Samuel 5:1-2 & 13:22-23,take a look. The people of GOD MUST awake though it be midnight,we are living in perilous times:2Tim.3:1-This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. But here's the promise of our GOD?
Ps.91:
5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7A thousand shall fall at thy side,
and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9...thou has made the Lord...most High,thy habitation;
10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11He shall give His angels charge over thee,to keep thee in all thy ways.
12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:..and the DRAGON shalt thou trample under feet( Revelation 12:9-11)
14...therefore will I deliver him:I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15He shall call upon me,and I will answer him:I will be with him in trouble;I will deliver him,and honour him
16With long life will I satisfy him,and shew him my salvation
Luke 2:28 - Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
So, Simeon takes Jesus up in his arms, and blessed God. Again, here is the word EULOGEO, for eulogy, speaking well of God, giving God praise and thanks for this baby.
Luke 2:47 - And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
Now the word astonished in the Greek text means to be struck out of your mind, to be mad, to be beside yourself. They were so astonished they were beside themselves. They couldn't contain themselves. They were saying I don't believe this. This is a 12-year-old kid.
And then it says, "Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing." The word sorrow in the Greek means to grieve with pain. They were frantic!
Where is their son, 12 years old? And he is wandering all over, and there were millions of people in Jerusalem. Who knows who might have kidnapped Him?
Luke 4:1 - And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
It tells us that Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit when he returned from the Jordan. After He was baptized, He returned from the Jordan, and he was full of the Holy Spirit. This word "full" in Greek doesn't mean full as in opposite of empty, but full as in the influence.
For instance, the Greek word in the book of Acts when the various disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit at various times, it means the Holy Spirit took over their human faculties. He filled their human faculties. There are times when the Holy Spirit is there. He is always in us, and He is always active, but he is not always using our human faculties to minister to others.
Lest we forget that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh-as you stated in a previous post, He is the Divine Son of God. He has both a divine nature and a human nature, but is only one person, the divine Son who is God. As God, He cannot be tempted by sin nor ever commit sin. But in His human nature He could be tempted by sin as Heb 4:15 says. However, sin He has no sin nature like us, all temptations to sin come from outside of Himself. Although He was indeed tempted daily by sin, His divinity did not allow Him to give into sin because the divinity of Jesus could not sin and the divinity and humanity of Jesus are two natures united in the one Person of the Divine Son of God.
In the wilderness, the devil did tempt Jesus repeatedly trying to get Him to sin in both His divinity and humanity. One of the things Jesus said to the devil in Luke 4:12 was that thou shall not tempt the Lord your God, both identifying himself as the God mentioned in the OT quotation Deut. 6:16 and He was telling the devil that He, Himself was the Lord HIS God. Jesus was God over the devil. He is God over every creature He created and that the devil was sinning against God when He tempted Jesus.
The humanity of Jesus was indeed tested, but in His humanity and in His divinity, He always obeyed the Father because the fullness of God dwelled in the incarnated humanity of the divine Son, Jesus. Jesus said that He and the Father are one and if You have seen Jesus you have seen the Father. Also He said that He, Jesus was to be honored just as the Father is honored, meaning they are equally God and share the same glory and deserve the same honor as God. ( John 10:30; John 14:19: John 5:23)
Jesus' humanity was filled with the Spirit without measure, His divinity had all the fullness of the Father and the Spirit as the divine Son in unity of the Godhead. No human is like that and every mere human has a sinful nature (not Jesus) and can still will to sin even with the fullness of the Spirit
Why is the NASB included in the parallel options? It's missing entire verses, and you know what Revelation 22.18-19 says about removing things:
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
This didn't used to be an option. This is a very sneaky way of corrupting the Word.

Luke 4: 4: And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Luke 4: 8: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Matt.25: 13: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matt.27: 35: And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
Mark 6: 11: And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Mark 13: 14: But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains.
John 7: 8: Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.
COMMENT: By omitting the word 'yet' the NASV makes the Saviour a liar, because he did later go up to the feast. (Joh
Luke 4:42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
Luke 5:16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. (NKJV and other versions said often He would do this)
Luke 6:12-13 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. 13 When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles:
Matthew 14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
With this and of course His agonizing prayer at Gethsemane where no doubt He was familiar with and spent other times in prayer there on His travels we see at various important and crisis points the Lord knew when to be even more focused; in some cases praying ALL NIGHT. This was after an exhausting day running around doing God's work; and often preceded more things the next day. More often than not crowds would come (such as when He discovered that John the Baptist had been martyred) and neither He nor the other Disciples could continue with the respite the Lord Himself initiated in their behalf.
Try to tell this to the average Christian in our country today. We note in these scriptures there was NEVER a time when any of the Disciples were said to be doing this; although the Lord rebuked them for not being able to cast out a demon without prayer and fasting. I am not aware of ANY verses talking about them in prayer; so it surely is lacking; you would think SOMEONE would ask the Lord if they could spend some time praying but as their naivete about His death supposing He was going to then rule as an earthly king no doubt prevented many of their efforts. Thankfully Pentecost changed things in that regard!
Hopefully this worm can learn something about prayer and my heart won't always be so cold.
Why would the Holy Spirit change His mind and leave out parts of verses like Matthew 18:11 "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost." is left out or in Luke 4:8 leaving out "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." or Ephesians 3:14 "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," NIV " For this reason I kneel before the Father, ESV "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father." What is your response to this?
The "walking in the park" example you gave was incorrect. These verses didn't just rearrange the words they left the words, edifying Christ, OUT. How do you think these versions glorify God when they are throwing His Son under the bus? I know that the KJB authors added books, chapters and verses but if that is the way it is written then that is the way God wanted it done. You have to believe, as I do, that either the Holy Ghost was in complete control of the writing of the KJB 1611 or you do not. To me it's that simple. I have a long list of scripture comparisons of the KJB to several popular modern versions and it's more then enough to think either God's Holy Spirit inspired the KJB only or He is a God who is dissatisfied with His original bible and wants it done over and over and over again. The NIV claimed that it only replaced old fashioned words with modern ones, but in the end it came up 64,000 words shorter then the KJB and had 3600 changes that affected doctrine like the examples I gave above.
Now people are so confused with so many versions out there they are desperate enough to ask some stranger on YouTube.
I know I'm what a lot of people call "KJB only" and in a sense I am but I don't believe people are condemn to hell if they use the modern versions. Their salvation does not hing on that. But I strongly believe they could be lead into believing false doctrine which could harm their walk with God, eventually leading to destruction. I went to a non-denominational church once and really enjoyed it until the pastor told me he didn't believe the KJB was written by God, his bible was the NIV. I stop going.
Here are just three examples of corrupt verses compared to the KJB: Matthew 18:11 KJB "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost." In the NIV and ESV: The verse is eliminated. It isn't there. A verse that speaks in plain, easily understood English that shows that Jesus is the Messiah, was eliminated. Luke 4:8: " KJB "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." NIV: "Jesus answered, "It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve him only." ESV: "And Jesus answered him,"It is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve." Ephesians 3:14 KJB: "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," NIV " For this reason I kneel before the Father, ESV "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father," (Again, diminishes the deity of Christ.)
I know it is between a christian and the Lord what bible versions they choose to use but I would think they would want the one God choose to give His children. I believe it is part of my respect for God"s truth to tell the good of the KJB and the harm of the modern versions. I emphatically believe the KJB is the Holy Ghost inspired Bible and meant for His children to trust and love. God Bless ;)
Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost, Matthew 1:20 of the seed of a woman/Mary, Genesis 3:15, and born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, John 1:13. Jesus grew up the same way that we do, Luke 2:40.
He was subject to the pulls of the flesh. He was tempted and influenced by Satan, Luke 4:1-2. He had a will and human desires, Luke 22:41-42. Although Jesus was filled without measure with the power of the Holy Ghost, and gave all things into his hand, John 3:34-35 Jesus humbled Himself and was obedient unto death, Philippians 2:5-11.
To be the payment for sins of man and to be the Savior of mankind and destroy the works of the devil, Jesus had to be a human, Hebrews 2:14-18, the promise God made was to Abraham and his seed, that was Jesus the Messiah/Christ, Galatians 3:16.
Jesus the last Adam came into this world sinless as the first Adam and had to be laden with what we are as humans. The man Jesus, Romans 5:15, had to endure and overcome sin and rise above the influences of Satan to become the payment for the sins and this atonement made way for our deliverance from Satan's bondage, Romans 3:21-26.
He also was prepared to be a merciful and faithful High Priest, Hebrews 4:14-16. God sent His own Son to condemn sin in the flesh that the law could not do that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled, Romans 8:3-4.
Jesus the Son of God a human being had to deal with life as we do. He lived in the same time, space, and constraints as we do. He was born under the law, He became tired, He became hungry, He was subject to persecution, subject to pain, subject to the Roman rulers, He had to deal with all the things the same way we do, and all was the for the will of the Father, not His, Matthew 26:42.
Only in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth do we have hope, and are saved, Acts 4:12.
We are not joined with those outside the body of Christ so, what are we as children of light supposed to do in a lost dark world?
We are to bare light and that light is supposed to shine on Christ.
We are his ambassadors in a foreign land.
We are to display the work of Christ in our lives and the evidence of a new birth bearing fruit. By this all people will know we are his disciples, and the fruit (especially Love for the Brothern) will also Distinguish between a false teaching religion/teachers and spirit filled believers where the spirit gathers and energizes. This is the operation of God by the baptism of the Holy spirit.
SCRIPTURE REFERENCES; John 13:34-35, Matthew 7:16-20. 1 1John 4:20-21, If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
We are to Love the unbeliever, witness to them, and treat them with kindness and help them in a Godly way.
So, in what ways we are not to be unequally yoked with them? Many things can be mentioned but I won't get into that here.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
"The command implies that a great difference exists between a believer and an unbeliever. Generally speaking, the motivations, goals, and methods of a Christian are incompatible with those of an unbeliever.
Faith changes the character of a person. A Christian's highest ambition in life is to glorify the Lord Jesus and please Him in all things; an unbeliever is, at best, indifferent to such goals. "
Again, don't get me wrong here, we are called to minister to them in particular.
That is the Lords Commission. Luke 4:18.
It is our Great Commission to spread the Gospel; Matthew 28:16-20.
We do that with truth! We don't do it with lies and deception.
The Devil took JESUS up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And said unto JESUS; "All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it". Luke 4:6
Was it /is it true? Do you believe in what the Devil said to JESUS? The Devil is the father of lie, understand? John 8:44-45. Who delivered the kingdoms of the world to him?
What the Devil shewed to JESUS was no delivered to the Devil, he USURPED.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy... John 10:10
Satan's machinations: PART TWO (further study on Satan's affect on us as individuals)
Part Two: The battle of the mind.
In my last post; I ran out of space again; but was getting into the verse where Jesus told Satan to get behind him when Peter was stating that basically going to the cross was not fit for Jesus to do. This shows how Christ expects us as His disciples to rely totally on the Spirit to allow the flesh to be dead. Luke 4:8 is the other verse where Jesus says this to Satan after the temptations in the wilderness. We see a difference between Peter then and after Pentecost as Jesus foretold after he denied knowing him. In all fairness since ALL the disciples ran off their fear for their lives superseded their love for Christ. This truly shows how only trust in the Spirit of God will enable us to face death with courage should it be in the time and place God has chosen. As I have said before it is the end of a life of obedience that Christ and in fact all the Disciples except for John met their fate; the spiritual man grows and matures through self denial and service to that point.
Our thought processes are determined merely by our old man at birth. Thus characteristic behaviors and routines develop which tend to linger with us even post salvation. There are; of course the affects of nurturing vs cruel parents; abundance or poverty in youth which the Lord is aware of but also weigh in on the enemy's game plan. Of course with the mind along with everything else the enemy attacks us with the easiest thing to do is be determined to TRUST God and reject any thought which isn't captive to His (God's) will ( 2 Corinthians 10:5); compare with 2 Timothy 2:26. We learn to recognize the enemy's patterns after hopefully only a few similar assaults at our weakest points. We learn to discern the Spirit of God which is outside of self from Satan's devices; which always appeals to the flesh and exalting self. RUN IF IT GOES AGAINST SCRIPTURE!
"And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town."
Jesus laid his hand upon the blind man second time and his answer establishes that he was the Christ, the Son of God. His laying hand is very similar to the shadow, an example we have seen in the Acts of the Apostles.(5:15) The shadow of Peter doubling for ' under the shadow of the Almighty." By sending him away Jesus was commanding to live by faith in God who as the Psalmist confesses, "in him will I trust."(Ps.91:1-2).In other words he was ordained to live serving Him so he was to seek fellowship elsewhere and not with the unbelievers. "Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure./...Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after."(1 Ti.5:22,24)
Calling was universal as the Marriage of the King's Son tells us. "Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage./ So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests."(Matt.22:9-10). But without righteousness no one will be admitted.
Kingdom of God is not about quantity but of life everlasting. "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost./For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men."(Ro.14:17-18)
Jesus at the end of the parable said,"For many are called, but few are chosen."(Matt.22:14). God knows who are his which has no expiry date. In his Son God has foreseen them and the word of God shall see it is fulfilled "But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land."( Luke 4:25) See the tag of Three and a half?
Do you believe that the will of the Father and the will of the Son are always the same or different?
Jesus was obedient to the Father, Jesus said many times it is not His will but the will of the Father who sent Him, the same as we are to do, John 4:34John 5:30Mark 3:35.
Do you believe that a human being can truly save all men from sin and death by a perfect life in their own will?
First, I will have to say it was the will of the Father, Jesus at the end even asked His father if there was another way but not Jesus's will but the will of His Father, Matthew 26:39Luke 22:42. We are told this is the foundation of our faith, Jesus' sacrificial death. God cannot die God is Spirit He has no blood to shed for sin it had to be a man, His Son, born of a woman.
John 3:16 God gave His Son not Himself 1 John 2:221 John 4:32 John 1:7Romans 5:82 Corinthians 5:21, God cannot be made sin, 1 Corinthians 15:17 Jesus died, and God raised Him from the dead, the first man to live a perfect life, the first fruits of those who sleep in death. 1 Corinthians 15:14 as said if Jesus was not a man who lived a perfect life and died and was raised from the dead all is vain.
The first Adam was the first man Jesus was the last Adam and the second man, 1 Corinthians 15:45-47. 1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. The law had to be fulfilled by a man.
How would a human being know that they are the Messiah from birth and thus know not to ever sin?
As we see Luke 2:51-52 Jesus grew up increasing in wisdom and stature in favor with God and man. Jesus was twelve years old and He knew His father was God, but it doesn't say Jesus knew then He was to be the Messiah. God also said He would raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, Deuteronomy 18:15, Isaiah 11:1-5Isaiah 61:1-2 confirmed in Luke 4:18-21. Romans 1:1-42 Timothy 2:8.
A correction: Where I wrote Jesus confirmed He was the Messiah, it should be Luke 4:16-21, not Luke 3. Sorry about that.
God bless,
RLW
I'll say glad to be outta here.
One more short post, I promise!
Love u in Christ and never loose hope. And stand against it, not let your heart be worried. Jesus is for all of us, He want to save all. Be free in Jesus name, Amen. Be happy and joyful that you have learned and known Jesus Christ. Never confess the bad things in life, only forgivness
Later he fed 5000 people with his baking talents
Instead of feeding himself
he fed the crowd that was following him
God does things in three's .
The first is the earth was made void.
Genesis 1:2
Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
God bless,
RLW
God bless,
RLW
Nicely laid out!
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Just a thought
God bless you Brother.
God bless.
Ps.91:
5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7A thousand shall fall at thy side,
and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9...thou has made the Lord...most High,thy habitation;

Matt.27: 35: And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

Agape.
We are to hold fast in our faith to the end.
God bless,
RLW
Part 2.
How should Christian treat one another?
See part 3.
John 10:10
Part 4 Trinity discussion.
Do you believe that the will of the Father and the will of the Son are always the same or different?
Jesus was obedient to the Father, Jesus said many times it is not His will but the will of the Father who sent Him, the same as we are to do, John 4:34 John 5:30 Mark 3:35.
Do you believe that a human being can truly save all men from sin and death by a perfect life in their own will?
First, I will have to say it was the will of the Father, Jesus at the end even asked His father if there was another way but not Jesus's will but the will of His Father, Matthew 26:39 Luke 22:42. We are told this is the foundation of our faith, Jesus' sacrificial death. God cannot die God is Spirit He has no blood to shed for sin it had to be a man, His Son, born of a woman.
John 3:16 God gave His Son not Himself 1 John 2:22 1 John 4:3 2 John 1:7 Romans 5:8 2 Corinthians 5:21, God cannot be made sin, 1 Corinthians 15:17 Jesus died, and God raised Him from the dead, the first man to live a perfect life, the first fruits of those who sleep in death.
God also said He would raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, Deuteronomy 18:15, Isaiah 11:1-5 Isaiah 61:1-2 confirmed in Luke 4:18-21. Romans 1:1-4 2 Timothy 2:8.
