When referring to passages that are cross referenced; there are the obvious ones such as events described in more than one Gospel; for example. The presence of such is often a nearly identical passage; but the viewpoint of the author tied in with the particular message the Spirit of God is conveying will often either bypass a point or add something to the context. Such would be the case; for instance with the subject of divorce which is in Luke and Mark (where remarriage is ALWAYS considered adultery); and in Matthew where two passages allow for the so called "escape" clause based on what is translated "fornication". Further insights on that subject are something to be covered elsewhere; although in this case I would point out that this is the only Gospel (Matthew) that discusses Joseph's desire to "divorce" his wife (who was in fact a woman espoused to him but nonetheless according to the culture had the same legal constraints as one who actually had consummated the marriage).
Sometimes something seems to pop up in unexpected places in the O.T.; Hosea 13:14 is a good example. Within that text there is talk of destruction for the Edomites and Israel's judgments in particular then this suddenly crops up in the middle of that discussion. That book itself is a very interesting tale as to God's demands of Hosea; and what may seem on the surface to God going through conflicting emotions. There are of course many prophetic texts such as what I have gone over recently about Christ found in the Psalms; many verses of which were quoted by Christ Himself read part of Isaiah 61 but stopped short of the prophetic implications in the text for the return of Christ (see Luke 4:16-17).
There are certain things which are more general than others; most prophecy does have multiple applications. This may tie into the personal applications for a Prophet and a future Messianic one. Part 2 to come...
a. in the example you gave, it would be quite appropriate for you to rest on your seventh day, even if that day should fall on any other day other than Saturday. Personally, I would just call it my rest day & not my Sabbath as to some folk that might infer that I'm recognizing & observing the Jewish Sabbath & changing it to 'my Sabbath day'; but maybe that's another discussion.
b. in relation to God's Command to Israel to "keep the Sabbath (the seventh day) holy" & as to "what day to start or stop"(your comment), I would suggest the following. Israel, from the time of the giving of the Law, knew exactly when their working week (or rather, days of toil & wandering in the desert) started and stopped. You may recall the Scripture in Exodus 16:25-30, where God provided manna for six days & the people had to collect extra on the sixth day to tide them over for the seventh day (Sabbath). This continued throughout their wanderings so they had a calendar of sorts to mark out their days of toil & their day of rest; the arrival/cessation of manna never failed. This 'calendar' never changed since then & even when Jesus went through the corn fields on the Sabbath ( Matthew 12:1), or went to read in the synagogue on the Sabbath Day ( Luke 4:16), He never upbraided the Jews for observing a day that was not the very same one specified by God in Exodus.
And for today also, I believe that the Sabbath Day falls on the Saturday (as per the Gregorian calendar that we use), as Jews also recognize it & observe it. Chabad dot org, confirms that Chanukah begins this year on Sunday, December 18 and ends on Sunday, December 25 (with December 24 being their Sabbath - Kislev 30). I hope this helps a little.

I read your posts, but I do not reply as much anymore but if I may. The statement Jesus was fully God and fully man, I have heard others say as well. From the time Jesus was born until He was resurrected and ascended back to heaven can this be truly said?
We read in John 17:1-5, shortly before Jesus was arrested, He prayed to the Father to be restored. Jesus left it all behind for us, the only begotten Son of God. The Bible does not clarify what that glory is, but whatever it was, it was lacking in Him while He was human. Jesus came as a human being and had to deal with life as we do, Heb. 4:15, and was obedient to the Father, Phil. 2:6-9.
Jesus was sent to fulfill the law and the prophets only man could do that. Jesus is the Messiah/Christ that God promised and sent, the Anointed One, the only begotten Son of God, and when He was baptized, He was anointed with the Holy Spirit without measure to do the will of the Father that sent Him, Matt. 10:40 Luke 4:18 John 3:34-35 John 5:30-31 John 17:21.
Jesus is now back in heaven with the glory He had at the right hand of the Father and will reign until all enemies are put under His feet, 1 Cor 15:25 and we know the last one is death, Rev 20:14.
There is no other name above His, Phil. 2:9 and no other name where there is salvation, Acts 4:12.

Verses 26 and on signify the future reign of Christ on earth; as to my eschatological bend; I would say the Millennial period is in focus here; notwithstanding all eternity afterwards. This is much like Luke 4:18 which quotes the first part of the statement beginning Isaiah 61 (verse 1) without verse 2 which states; once again His rule after the second coming. In general; however we feel about the Millennial period taking verses as anything but literal makes no sense when all those who are Post Millennial; for instance seem to take the prophetic verses of His first coming quite literally. This multilayered view is more common than not in the prophetic. It is clear in many of these Psalms that David when speaking through the inspiration of the Spirit spoke of Christ's sufferings and in that sense also suffered as we are today ( 1 Peter 5:10). In this Psalm; however it seems that everything is about Christ rather than David. No wonder God said that he was a "man after His own heart." ( 1 Sam. 13:14).
Luke 6:20 reads as, "Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God". And Luke 4:18, Jesus quoting from Isaiah about Himself, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor...". Whether in spiritual poverty or lacking in worldly goods, even having a spirit that is contrite before God, Jesus came to minister to these folk, that through their poverty & spiritual need they would ultimately be blessed; and post-crucifixion & the Work of the Holy Spirit, these are the broken spirits that will be affected and moved towards the Lord's Salvation.
I love to celebrate Christmas, I really enjoy the lights, the focus on our Savior. The generosity in the season. Christmas is a time of year, people remember more their fellow man, needs & wants of others. Christmas time reminds us of the joys of giving & putting smiles on others faces, teaching by love & kindnesses. Surprising a person with anonymous unexpected gifts, giving hope to people in desperation, food, clothing, volunteering, etc. warms their hearts, body & soul & sometimes gives them hope for a better ' tomorrow '. Christmas is the time of year people are more willing to receive from a Christian.....
We as Believers have an open door at Christmas unlike any other time of the year, to show the World who Jesus is, who the Church is.
When we remember those most "forgotten by others" showing them, they are not forgotten by GOD, it's amazing how even those around them are affected.

In Exodus 30:22-33 you will find the mixture of myrrh, cinnamon, calamus, cassia, and olive oil, it was to be considered sacred. The act of anointing with sacred oil emphasized that it was God who had ordained them with the authority to act as his representative. It was also symbolic of the one to come the Anointed One, the Messiah Jesus, who was anointed not with oil but the Holy Spirit/Ghost without measure, Luke 4:1 John 3:34.
You can buy it online, not cheap about 20-25 dollars an ounce or you can buy the ingredients and make it yourself the quantities are in Exodus 30, you just cut down the recipe, I don't think one would need that much, ha ha.

The same old straw man fallacy shows up again that God the Son isn't God the Father, but no one is claiming that. This attack on Jesus is repeated so much it seems to fall into the disingenuous and lie territory.

You need to understand what Jesus did after Adam and Eve sinned. They lost their dominion and authority to exercise it, to Satan.
Jesus would retrieve it in the future. He set aside his power, to be born as a Human. EARTH WAS MADE FOR HUMANS. Only a human could redeem it. Satan did not know what God was doing. When Jesus was anointed in Luke 4:18-19, His ministry began. He had all of His Powers returned to Him. He healed people, cast out demons. He had all AUTHORITY and POWER to do miracles. Satan was stripped.
Jesus IMPARTED THAT AUTHORITY into BELIEVERS only. His followers who received His Baptism of the Holy Spirit ( John 3), have the authority of Jesus to do the same things Jesus did: heal, bind and cast out devils/demons; cleanse the afflicted, raise the dead (spiritually). Concentrate on what Jesus did and imparted into His FOLLOWERS. Our FAITH IN JESUS is our strength to maintain our peace and healing.
Satan attacks our faith. HE IS NOT HUMAN. He has no authority to attack believers. But he still tries. He wants DOUBT to threaten and SHAKE OUR FAITH IN JESUS. If you let DOUBT enter your mind, it brings in other spirits to destroy your faith.
Our faith is precious to God. Turn back to when your faith was new & strong. Stand on Gods WORD. As Jesus taught, BIND THE ENEMIES and CAST THEM INTO OUTER DARKNESS.
Kick out DOUBT. Stand on Scriptures. Ephesians 6: scriptures are your SWORD. Enemies of your Faith are INVISIBLE. Perceive their Fruits: doubt, sickness, perversion, destroyer of faith. Ask Holy Spirit to give you the names. Only Bible will feed your faith. TV will erode it. Google Spiritual Warfare to learn how to fight back
Jesus sits at the right Hand of God, interceding for us. He wants us to prevail and have what we pray for.
Pray at all times. Be strong.
I learned a lot from studying Paul's life. He was miraculously saved! He thought he should go meet the Disciples in Jerusalem. Didn't quite go as he planned. Jesus sent Paul out into a desert with the Holy Spirit for 3 years! Anything presumptive was dealt with. So this applies to us too (sometimes). We have to be willing to go to the desert if Jesus chooses that. We don't.
If you are chosen to be a ministry gift (Prophet, Teacher, Pastor, Evangelist, missionary) the you need to sit with one of those gifts to see if that is where the Holy Spirit says to be "for a season".
Jesus did no miracles until he was anointed in Luke 4:18

One thing I never did as a streetevangelist is to pray for salvation for someone on a sidewalk, and leave them in the "blood of new spiritual birth." I called them the next day or day before Sunday; and offered rides to my church. I dressed as they dressed. We sat together on the pews. Some I took them to meet Pastor or see about water baptism if they wanted to be baptized.
Some came to spaghetti dinners at my house. Always lots of fun with music, and testimonies sometimes. I always remember how I was saved. I lost all my good time party buddies; they didn't want to go to church with me :(
I picked a Baptist church thinking it would be less scary. As it happened the Holy Spirit was there. The sermon was "the curse of the Occult." Music minister gave a word of knowledge about someone who WAS in the occult for decades. Come forward. I did. I was healed of all kinds of pain. A Baptist lady told me 75 times I was FORGIVEN.
Trust the Holy Spirit to help you in what you need. Ask for what you need. Let go of pride and false shame.

The beginning of John; much like Romans 1 indicates the Creation of God. However; the true light (God or Christ Himself) is NOT known in man's darkened; sinful state despite the evidences seen externally (v. 4-5). Verses 9 through 11 discuss Christ coming; not being known by His creation OR His chosen people. Verse 13 gives the first of a myriad of indications of God's election of who is saved; as it is not ultimately determined by the will of man. The rest of the chapter shows how Christ was supernaturally revealed to John the Baptist; and how He began to choose the 12 apostles who would someday judge the 12 tribes of Israel ( Matt. 19:28; also Rev. 4:10 showing O.T. descendants of Jacob as other 12 most likely).
John 2: This chapter illustrates how Christ would only be understood by those who are His own; even if it doesn't state anything directly. There were certain things to be revealed in its time; hence the miracle of the water to wine was perhaps a sort of local affair; and we see that there is no salvation message here; or any healings as is seen after He officially started His ministry after being tempted by the Devil for 40 days. ( Luke 4:2; Mark 1:12). This is NOT mentioned in John. A rare event when the disciples actually knew Christ was fulfilling prophecy without rather torturous explanations on His part was in verse 17 when they understood the prophecy of the zeal of His house. Verse 19 is the first of many verses hiding a meaning from the Pharisees as to what the Temple would be that was destroyed and would rise in 3 days (His body). The disciples wouldn't get it until after the Resurrection. This shows that Christ had to reveal Himself as God in the flesh only to those God chose to do so ( Matthew 16:17). We need also to see how ALL of Christ's ministry was an example of following God's plan; and speaking only His words as is seen in John 8:38 and other passages. He expounds on hidden truths to His own.

Plus, a lot of our difficulties arise from unconfessed sin and not doing God's will. We all have pet sins.

This may trip you up: Jesus is God. Roman's 1:20. In the process of time and Jesus's ordained ancestors: by the Holy Spirit, He endured Mary's pregnancy and childbirth,
In order to be born into Earth as a Human. He was both God and Human. Scripture says He laid aside His Powers to be born human. He lived on earth just as we do. Then as we see Jesus was baptized by John. "All righteousness must be observed." He was Anointed by the Holy Spirit, Luke 4:18 ( Isa. 61). He had all of His Power he had to lay aside for 30 years.
Satan wasn't really sure this was HE of Genesis 3:15. If he had known the plan of God, he would've tried to kill Jesus.
Satan is a CREATED ANGEL. He's not human. He only had what he stole from Adam: dominion and authority. Jesus came to Get It Back, LEGALLY. Satan and evil angels do not have human bodies. They have to steal one.
Satan still thought He had won after Jesus died on the Cross for the sins of all mankind. Jesus was in the tomb, right? Things started going bad for Satan real quick. Jesus went to hell, took the Keys to death, grave and hell from Satan. Jesus opened the prison and took the prisoners through the streets of Jerusalem. People saw the long dead saints.
ON THE CROSS AS A HUMAN, Jesus legally won back Power, Authority and Dominion over Earth, FOREVER. He shares it with His True Born Again Believers. Us.
After everything that is written is fulfilled, ALL prophesy;
Jesus will send Satan to the Lake of Fire. No more to be seen ever.
Knowing what's written in the Bible will make it easier for us; or something to be feared.
2 Peter 3, is the THE REST OF THE PLAN. You must be born again to see the Kingdom of God; to live with Jesus every day of eternity.

that's true in respect to accomplish what he wants to bring to pass according to what His Word promises. Even in our lives
we are so to speak spiritually untouchable as long as we walk spiritually in CHRIST althiough our physical bodies die daily.
We are warned by Christ that if an army comes with more men then we have; we have to assess our strength and plan accordingly. ( Luke 14:31). Since Satan is the "god of this world" ( 2 Cor. 4:4) and Christ never disputed with him about being given authority over the Kingdoms of the earth ( Luke 4:6) we only have 3 options. Namely; to either worship Satan; surrender to Him; or operate in the power of the Holy Spirit through Christ who has overcome hell and the grave and who exercises all authority over heaven and earth. ( Matt. 28:18).
The scope of Satan's rulership; therefore is interwoven throughout the world governments; institutions; and hierarchy. It is entangled throughout every false religion of the earth. The imaginations of men are blinded to the Gospel truth; and his desires are always to lead men to their destruction by giving them delusions that they can hold onto their possessions; loved ones; or positions in life forever. God therefore must do a miraculous transformation when one is "Born Again" so that they realize that they were headed for eternal damnation on the wide road until the narrow path was revealed to them. Satan himself can certainly fear Christ and knows that he is defeated; but there is no love for Him. If he can continue to control our lives after salvation and render us ineffective; we stand to lose our rewards and therefore risk an early departure from this life ( 1 Cor. 11:30).
Therefore; the war is won but many battles continue. We can be as Christ trusting God the road He has predestined for us in order to complete the works for us prepared from before creation ( Eph. 2:10). Pain and suffering are all necessary even though none of us can grasp it fully. As long as we are walking in the Spirit Satan cannot affect our soul. If we allow sin in any part of our lives; however God can and does use the enemy to oppress us. He can allow physical affliction as well as we see with Paul (2Cor12:8
In Genesis 2:2-3, God completed his creation by making the Sabbath holy and this sanctification and the blessing of the Sabbath then became a seventh day of rest.
Because God rested from all his works in creation, God's command of the 7th day of rest was also promulgated in the Mosiac Law that all Jews followed. See Exodus 20:8-11. This 7th day of rest or the Sabbath falls on a Saturday, which usually begins on sunset, instead of a Sunday evening. Throughout the Old Testament period, Jews have always congregated in their synagogues every Sabbaths (every Saturday evenings), for worship and hearing of the Law. The Sabbaths is based on the lunar calendar, and not the on the solar calendar. In the New Testament, we see Jesus in the synagogue as He was reading publicly the scroll of Isaiah,which spoke of the fulfillment of Jesus 'ministry. Jesus of course met on the Sabbath day( Saturday).
See Luke 4: 16-21. Noticed that on verse 16 of Luke, Jesus went to the synagogue just like any Jews of his time. It was customary. And certainly it was on a Sabbath day. There is one reference in scripture that mentioned Paul in Acts, about the monetary collection for the church on the first day of week. See Acts 16:1-2. Honestly, I think these verses speaks about the Sabbath where they assembled was on Saturday but never on Sunday.. because the Jewish calendar is carefully counted when the next Pentecost would be. (See Acts 16:8) so this all makes sense when we read the content of scripture regarding the Sabbath in a more precise understanding of the factual truth about the Sabbath day.
It was Constantine who changed the Sabbath Saturday into the "Sabbath " Sunday in 321 AD. It was a decree for all Roman Christians to rest back in the early days of Roman Christianity in the Roman Empire. Centuries later in 1582 the pope that you mentioned, changed the chronological timing of the solar calendar that we now have today with Sunday as the official Sabbath.
Scripture tells us the unclean spirits/devils knew He was the Son of God, Matt. 8:29 Mark 3:11 Luke 8:27-28. Scripture tells us Jesus is the Son of God the only begotten of the Father, John 1:14. Scripture tells us Jesus the Son of God was before this world John 17:5 2 Timothy 1:9. Scripture tells us Jesus the Son of God was the beginning of creation Rev. 3:1. Scripture tells us everything was created through Him Col. 1:16.
Scripture tells us to confess Jesus is the Son of God, 1 John 4:15. Scripture tells us God gave His only begotten Son, John 3:16. Scripture tells us to believe God gave His only begotten Son, 1 John 5:10. Scripture tells us God was made known in the flesh through His only begotten Son same as creation was through His Son 1 Timothy 3:16 Col. 1:16.
Scripture tells us we have salvation and eternal life only in Jesus Christ, John 3:36 Acts 4:12 Eph. 4:12 1 Thess. 5:9 1 John 5:13 Scripture tells us we can only come to the Father through Jesus, John 14:6 1 Timothy 2:5.
Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets and died for our sins, and the only way that could be done is in the flesh, the seed of Abraham, Hebrews 2. He experienced temptation the same as you and me, Luke 4:2 Heb 2:18, He had a brain and a will, Luke 22:42 but He was obedient to the Father. We now have a high priest in heaven that lived in this flesh just like us, Hebrews 4:14-16.
Salvation and eternal life only by the grace of God through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ's perfect life in the flesh, His blood shed for us, and His resurrection. We cannot deny the divinity of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God that was before this world, but no creed, doctrine, or statement of faith can be placed above or added to that we must believe to receive salvation and eternal life if scripture does not tell us we must believe. Truth is in the simplicity that is in Christ.

"Her" is speaking of a place: Heaven. It's similar to Wisdom described as female too. It's just how the writer described it. THE WHOLE BIBLE is inspired by the Lord.
God is Spirit. Jesus is fully God and fully Human.
Earth was created for Humans. That's why Jesus was born as a human. He came to save us from the loss of Dominion in the Garden of Eden; stolen by Satan.
The Day Jesus was anointed of God, Isaiah 61:1-3, the whole earth was in awe.

King David was a shepherd. Samuel anointed David King over Israel. It was YEARS before He made it to Jerusalem.
We have this same issue come up frequently. A preacher friend Iverna Tompkins ministers to Churches. Generally meetings with women. Sometimes the Pastor requests men or women to attend as a mixed group.
If you listen to a couple of her videos on Youtube__the message she delivers (the Word) is anointed. Everyone is blessed who attends.
On the Day of Pentecost in the Upper Room, IT WAS A MIXED CROWD. All of them received the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT. The room spilled out in the streets! Everyone heard the message (gift of tongues) in their own language. All 3 Mary's were there: His mother, Lazarus's sister Mary and Mary Magdalene.
The Holy Spirit came as a rushing wind, doors and windows blew open, and the fire of tongues fell on all those who were there. And everyone was experiencing the gift of tongues, they were prophesying and proclaiming Jesus as Messiah, King of Kings, Lord of Lords with all their strength.
People outside heard the sounds and rushed to see what was happening and they too heard their own language!
Jesus meant it to be this way THEN AND NOW. We are so cultured and PC you rarely see the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a church service. I've been in churches that allow the Holy Spirit to Come and Fall on us. He did. I walked towards the stage and the Power of the Holy Spirit was so strong, we all fell into a kneeling position. 2/3 of the church got touched or healed. The oil of joy poured on us and all the pressures of life and depression were lifted off.
Men or women are all able to pray ISAIAH 61 or Luke 4:18. We are all called to GO YE INTO ALL OF OUR WORLD and work in the Harvest. Do you hear that call?
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and anoint your message.
Receive the joy and fill your lamps with oil.
