I am reading these one at a time and responding to each if that is okay.
1) Life in Christ begins when an individual accepts Jesus as their Savior. It is here that they are born again, spiritually speaking, that is.
2) From that point, the individual must either
a) continue on the quest for spiritual life in Christ or
b) fall away.
3) If they fall away from Christ with the belief that they are still along the pathway to salvation, then they are mistaken in their belief and are on the pathway to not only hell, but are in danger of being cast out with Lucifer.
4) Hell is that condition of being denied salvation from sin, whereas being cast out is that condition of living with their father Lucifer, who hates them.
5) Both "hell" and being "cast out" are for the spiritually dead in Christ. Those who will be judged.
6) Those individuals who remain loyal to Jesus and follow him have eternal life and are saved from the just judgment of God for their sins. That is, they have salvation in Christ their God, from judgment.
7) Those who remain loyal to Jesus are free from judgment, while those who do not remain loyal to Jesus will be judged to go to hell or be cast out. Such will be the case for the beast and his false prophet, who are cast out with Lucifer ( Rev. 19:20, 20:10).
8) This is the parable of the sower where Jesus is the sower and some fall while others live ( Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, and Luke 8:4-15).
Why do we loose/leave our initial love for God? Simply because in the midtime we come to love something else more than God, whatever that might be. And people usually follow what their heart loves best, and if that is not God then it is somehting else And so they leave Him and the narrow path He wishes us to walk on.
In the parable of the Sower, the third case, Jesus describes a type of Christians, Luke 8:7, "And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it." and in Luke 8:14 He explains "And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection."
Why did those people bring no fruit? Because they left God and their life in Christ. Why? Because they loved some things more than God. They loved the pleasures of this life, the riches etc so they leave God and go forth for what they love more.
In Hebrews Paul raises our attention about something serious. Hebr 3:11-14,
"12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin 14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Sin can harden our hearts in leaving God and follow a wordly sinful life. It can deceit us. Our heart becomes evil and unfaithful. Even the cares of this life can do that. For if we live to aquire more and more and to please ourselves all the time we end up with no time for God. The eternal life is our priority. All others come next. We will not take anything with us from this life up there. We will leave them all down here.
In the scriptures there are examples/warnings of people who failed because they followed what in the midtime their heart loved more than God. Judas is the most well known case.
Chris has given you a good reply. However, if we examine the saying, "once saved, always saved," it can be true or false; we can use Scripture to support or refute it. So where does that leave us?
In John 3:16, it says that if we believe in Jesus, we will be saved. Jesus promises never to fail. Salvation is based on the grace of God, through faith, not by our efforts, Ephesians 2:8-9. Our salvation depends on the righteousness of Christ and God's mercy, Titus 3:5.
We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23-24. We are justified not by works of the law but by faith, Galatians 2:16. We are called not because of our works but because of God's purpose and grace given to us through Jesus, 2 Timothy 1:9.
Our salvation is founded on our faith in Jesus Christ. In John 10:27-29, we are His sheep, hear His voice, follow Him, and are granted eternal life, which no one can take from His hand. Our salvation is secure because it relies on Jesus' work. As Hebrews 10:23 states, we are to hold fast to our faith without wavering because He is faithful.
Conversely, there is the risk of apostasy or falling away. Luke 8:4-15 illustrates this. In verse 13, it describes someone who received the word with joy and believed for a while but fell away when tempted. This person was a believer who later turned away; individuals can walk away on their own.
We must live by faith and be led by the Spirit. Paul says in Colossians 1:23, "If ye continue in the faith." We also see in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 about the great falling away when the beast rises, along with many other verses too numerous to list that emphasize we must endure to the end, like Revelation 2:10, also we are told to hold fast. If we remain strong in our faith, nothing can take our salvation away.
I understand that some say those who fall away were never truly saved, but I do not see that supported by Scripture, and it may be false hope for one who is weak.
Persecution of Christ in His earthly mission: Part 2
Jesus' early life: Born in obscurity
Satan's attempt at destroying the lineage of Christ doubled down one the gig was up and Jesus was born. Thus; we have the fulfillment of of Jeremiah 31:15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. This prophecy is shown being fulfilled in Matthew 2 with the attempted killing of Herod of all infants 2 years or younger of male children and thus Jesus had to dwell with his family in Egypt until the angel informed Joseph that the danger had passed.
Jesus then spent most of his life as a humble carpenter (which I have stated before could have involved as some suggest; other construction and like pursuits). In any case He was fulfilling the usual practice of remaining with family until a traditional age of about 30; but it was part of a mystery as to the exact timing. We see that He then had 3 and a half years of ministry which mirrors that of the 2 Prophets in the Tribulation. During this time we see all sorts of persecution and sacrifice He had to make in order to make it to the cross which He certainly knew was coming well before He started public ministry.
It is an interesting thought that actually I just came up with. Jesus told others that you must follow God and not wait to fulfill obligations at home; and surely since Joseph isn't mentioned He very well may have left home around the time His own mother became a widow. That also reflects on the conversation which He was sought to have with His father conspicuously absent with his mother and brothers (see Luke 8:21). So He practiced what He preached. I will add that His request to John to dwell with her and take her in during His greatest suffering on the cross demonstrates that indeed He did have tender care for His own family and made necessary provisions.
One has to discriminate the OT from the NT. Many things in the OT are not valid in NT, eg in Psalms King David always asks God to take revenge against his enemies, which is something we should not do in NT, we must love our enemies.
Yes God is angry and dissapointed with the man He created. But when we talk about God's wrath we mean God distructing people not just the feeling of being angry.
So lets have a look in NT.
Jesus said in John 3:17, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
When the disciples asked Jesus if He wants them to bring fire from Heaven to burn the Samaritans since they didn't accept them Jesus said, "... But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.". Luke 8:54-55. Not to mention the case with that woman condemned for fornication whom Jesus let her free
We live in the age of grace. We must distinguish the spirit of the OT which was condemnation/punishment from the spirit of the NT wich is grace/mercy. We are "of another manner of spirit" in this age. So God is.
Doesn't it seem strange to you that God asks us to love our enemies while He is angry with them? Or is He not angry? He actually loves His enemies, that is why we become God's true children by also loving our enemies "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:..." How de we really become God's true children? By being in "His likeness".
The will of God is all people to be saved, If you search the word 'wrath" in NT you will find it always refers to the Judgement Day. Only in the OT and in Rev we can find it in this life. And to me this is another point that grace will not be available after the rapture of the church. People will have to be slaughtered to be saved. The grace will go together with the church and another age will start. I will not use the word dispensation since I am against that idea, but still the grace will be gone at that time
Many people interpret Luke 16:19-31, the story of the rich man and Lazarus, as a literal account rather than a parable. However, in Mark 4:11 and Luke 8:10, Jesus explicitly states that He spoke to others in parables. We must consider the entirety of Scripture when evaluating this story, as I have referenced only a few relevant passages.
If this story were literal, it would imply that individuals receive their rewards immediately after death. This notion contradicts the rewards are given after the resurrection, as indicated in Revelation 22:12, Luke 14:13-14, 2 Timothy 4:8, and 1 Corinthians 15:51-54, along with what we see in Revelation 20:4.
What was the purpose of this story? Is it our choices, what we have faith in, God, or do we crave wealth, or do we have faith, and charity, 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. This story shows the rich man rich in worldly things, but poor in morality, and Lazarus the opposite. This story also points to Jesus' death and resurrection, Luke 16:31. We see that is what happened, they still rejected Jesus after He was hung on a cross and died, put in a tomb, rose from the grave, and spoke to them for 40 days, and it did not convince them.
Luke 8:10 "And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand."
Mark 4:9-12 "And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them."
Mark 4:33,34 "And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples."
Matthew 13:33,34 "All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world."
Daniel 12:4 "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
Daniel 12:8,9 "And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end."
In the Bible, a PARABLE is an earthly story with a Spiritual meaning. Christ, God Himself, is the author of the entire Bible and He declares that "without a parable spoke He not".
Is not then every historical account in the Bible not only a literal account but also a HISTORICAL PARABLE teaching some aspect of the Gospel? ceremonial Law, lamb of God, book of Ruth, etc.?
You'd never hear it in the news; but on average, over 200,000 people die every day in this world. Do the math. There's an estimated 6 billion people in the world. If the average person lives to be 70-years old, that means 6 billion people will all die within the next 70-years (on average). If we divide 6 billion by 70, and then divide that result again by 365 days in a year, we get 234,834 people dying every single day. Of course, on some days more people die, and on others less. My point is that 6,000,000,000 people living today will all be dead within 150 years from today. It's either Heaven or Hellfire.
How tragic that the average Christian today has been choked by the cares and riches of this carnal world... "And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection" ( Luke 8:14). Oh, how the tears will flow in Heaven, from the eyes of believers who lived for the pleasures of this temporal life, who selfishly did their own thing, who worked all the overtime they could get; but hardly ever, if ever, told lost souls how to be saved through Jesus Christ.
Souls are dying, brother, do you care? Souls are dying, sister, do you care?
But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

"A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about." (v.34)
In order to understand the significance we shall examine from the life of our Saviour.
The golden bell alternating with a pomegranate upon the hem round about we need not count which is pure speculation. The robe of Aaron signified righteousness which refers to the robe that Jesus wore. "now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout./They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled." ( John 19:23-24)This robe signified a quality of great import that the Spirit inspired the holy man of old to mention it.
It was of one colour and was one long piece of woven work: "And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue".(Ex.39:22) The bells, with pomegranates "And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen"(39:24) the righteousness was Person specific. The four in number establishing Jesus Christ as the Word become flesh. It was thus we see Jesus among a crowd.( Luke 8:455-48).
The woman with an issue of blood touched his hem,"and immediately her issue of blood stanched./And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me."
The golden bell signifies faith and it made connect instantly.
The woman suffered for 12 years just as Jairus' daughter was 12 years old, "For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age,"(8:42). Luke groups two healings where the Spirit sets a tag on both so how we interpret his healing cannot go wrong. He sent his word and healed them from their destructions. Tag for gospel of Christ is 12. (Ps.107:20)
Luke 8:19 - Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
This word "press" is not talking about newspaper reporters. But of course, you already know that! This is the word OCHLON which means the throng of the crowd.
Luke 8:23 - But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
There came down a storm of wind on the lake; It's called a LAILOPS, which is hurricane force, hurricane force that sits almost 600 ft. below sea level, the Sea of Galilee.
Luke 8:27 - And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
The word devils is literally the word demons. He wore no clothes. That is one of the characteristics in the bible of demonized people. They don't like to keep their clothes on.
That doesn't mean that all people that don't want to keep their clothes on are demonized! He had devils or demons for a long time. He didn't wear any clothes, and he didn't live in any house. He lived in the tombs, the cemetery, where dead people are buried.
Luke 8:29 - (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
This word "fetters" in the Greek means shackles.
Luke 8:30 - And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
Legion means 6,000.
Luke 8:31 - And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
And they, (the demons), besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. That is the abyss where the demons are going to wind up as we know from the book of Revelation, the ABUSSO, the bottomless pit.
Luke 8:8 - And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
The term "let him hear" is not an invitation or a challenge. In the Greek text, it is a command. The one having ears to hear, and He says, hear! And what Jesus is doing is activating people's hearing, the ones who have a heart or an ear to hear, He is actually giving them the ability to do so.
Luke 8:14 - And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
The word "cares" is the word MERIMNA. It is usually translated anxiety or worry. MERIMNA, just as the general definition, means "to occupy the attention of the mind." Not to occupy the mind, but to occupy the attention of the mind. That is Satan's only weapon against a believer. That is what the Bible presents. Once you become a Christian, once you know Christ, Satan can't take your soul away from Jesus Christ. All he can do is keep our minds occupied and distracted from the things of the Lord in order to keeps us from growing spiritually.
Luke 8:16 - No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
In the King James text, every time you see the word candle, it is the literally the word lamp in all of its uses. And a candle stick is a lamp stand. It wasn't a candle.
No one when he has lighted a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under his bed; (that is pretty comical), but he sets it on a lamp stand, in order that those who enter in may see the light. I mean that is what it is for, so that you can see.
Luke 8:2 - And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
Secondly in Verse 2, it tells us that there were certain women who were also part of this ministry caravan campaigning from city to city. It also gives us their condition, that they were healed of evil spirits and infirmities. Infirmities is usually translated sicknesses in the scripture.
But whenever it says devils or demons and sickness, Luke the physician is linking the two together, some kind of physical condition that has been brought about by demonic activity. Not all physical illness is from demons, or from sin. Well, actually the fallen nature, yes. But not all sickness is because of sin.
But Luke is linking these two together for us to tell us that these are people who were demonically affected, if not possessed, and they were healed of evil spirits and infirmities. The word infirmity literally means to be without strength. It is not the word for disease. It is the word for sickness, and it just means to be without strength.
Luke 8:4 - And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
A parable (PARA BOLE) is a commonly known event, known to man or in the community like farming, and other stories that are common to the everyday person, and taking a spiritual truth and putting it alongside of a common everyday story.
Not everything in the stories pertain to spiritual truth, but the heart of the stories does, and Jesus often used farming terms to express His truths.
Luke 7:23 - And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
The word offended means stumble over!
Luke 7:29 - And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
Again, the word "publicans" just means a tax collector. And they "justified God." And what that means, it is actually a Greek term for a Hebraism that means they declared God right.
Luke 7:41 - There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
So, Jesus says that there was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed him five hundred DENARII, 500 days wages.
That is a lot of money, almost two years' worth. And the other owed fifty, 500 and 50.
Luke 8:1 - And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
And it came to pass afterward, and in the Greek text it literally says in succession. This is the next thing that happened, but not exactly the same day or the next day. Some of these incidents are anywhere from three to six months apart as far as their proximity to each other.
Thanks brother Jesse for that very informative & enlightening explanation on the different parts of those garments. As I considered Luke 8:43-48 & the condition of the woman (both her emotional & physical states), my mind went also to John 3:1,2 concerning Nicodemus. Of course, these are two very separate events, but the similarities seem noteworthy.
Both the woman & Nicodemus had very clear pressing needs. The one for healing of her persistent, long-drawn-out bleeding condition & the other, of his desperate need to reconcile what his fellow Pharisees believed about Jesus & what was niggling in his own mind of the real truth about Jesus ("for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him").
They both came in secret/under cover to Jesus. The woman in faith coming under cover, completely oblivious to the multitude pressing upon Jesus ( Luke 8:45), risking being recognized, dragged out & beaten for her 'crime'; as was Nicodemus, in secret from the prying eyes of his peers & probable expulsion - using the cover of darkness, desperate to learn the secret about this Man whom so many hated & would feel justified in killing.
If either of these two came up openly to Jesus, in public view, they might well have not had their needs met, for reasons given above. But their great need for healing, one for a sick body & the other for a troubled mind & spirit, were greater than the probable results that would have come against them. Onto Page 2.
I do agree with you about the parallels in the bible. You make an interesting statement about His power going out exclusively to her. With such a huge crowd pressing against Jesus, so many people had to have been touching Him, but His virtue only goes out to her.
Sorry it took me a bit to get back with you. I needed to find my notes from a study I did several years ago on Luke 8:43-48 which I have outlined as "The Provision for The Hemophiliac." I wanted to share more about what this woman actually touched on Jesus' garment.
In Verse 43, we have this woman who had a constant hemorrhaging problem and she had it for 12 straight years. Since she had this kind of condition, she would have to wear a red robe, and she would have to call out "unclean, unclean" as she came near people. She was unclean to touch or to be around the public. It's interesting that "Dr. Luke" gives us a little information. She spent everything she had on physicians and none of them could heal her! So, she comes up from behind Jesus and her issue of blood stopped flowing.
Here's what I find fascinating about this garment:
Leviticus 15:25 tells us that if a woman has an issue of blood many days out of the time of her separation, if it runs beyond the time of her separation, all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation, she shall be unclean. She was unclean for 12 years.
The KANAPH is the bottom border of the garment, the robe that the Jewish men wore. The TALLIT is the name of the prayer shawl. The KANAPH is the border on the garment at the bottom. Then there are these little tassels that hang down from the KANAPH and they are called TSITTSIT's (pronounced seat-seats). If you ever get the chance to attend a real live Jewish Passover meal, you will notice the little tassels that hang down off of the border, or the KANAPH of his prayer garment. And it's interesting because those cannot just be made by anybody.
I pray you find comfort with the following scriptures.
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3 KJV
"But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." Psalms 1:2 KJV
"And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink." Genesis 21:19 KJV
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 KJV
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name." Matthew 6:9 KJV
"Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid." Luke 8:35 KJV
Christ's ultimate sacrifice: Primary purpose was to do God's will.
In studying Christ's death on the cross and the resulting salvation of our souls it is no small thing to focus attention and time on such a matter on a regular basis. At least from our perspective the meaning to us personally must be considered with all due reverence for how He took us from death to life. John 17:6-8 makes clear that God was the one who gave Christ all the ones who were to be saved. The following verses ask for unity among them all; and to be in the world but not of it (in general). These verses prayed during His agony in Gethsemane are the summation of much of the earlier chapters in John clearly showing that God was the one who predetermined (predestined) all those who would be saved and hear His voice as His sheep.
However you slice it; there are some who will and will not come to Christ. Also God knows ahead of time who these people are so therefore certainly could have designated ahead of time who would be sheep and who would be a goat; who would be wheat and who a tare; etc. In other words; it wasn't up to Christ to give out any information that could lead someone to the truth in a merely intellectual manner and therefore much of His ministry was spent teaching in parables. Compare Mark 4:12 with Luke 8:12. The lack of insight given so that people can be saved is clear from the first passage; but Satan is used as the agent to blind men's hearts in the second example in Luke of the seed by the wayside.
There are as Deuteronomy 29:29 states some things in the Divine counsel which men are not privy to. Certain things can be searched out; however ( Proverbs 25:2). John 3:16 states that God so loved the world and sent His Son. We should keep in mind here that Christ came first and foremost to do the Father's will. All those called and chosen would be saved EXCEPT for the prophesied son of perdition (see Psalm 69:25; Psalm 41:9; Psalm 109).
"There met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way."
Casting out demons from taking over a person is nothing new. Heart of man is treacherous. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." (Je.17:9-10). The Spirit in dealing with this wants us to remember what Jesus he was there fore. The Evangelist inspired by the Spirit gives us in terms of Prophet Isaiah 'Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."(8:17). Jesus knew the demoniac spirit would not leave him with all his powers at disposal so a legion clamored while he himself did not know how to be himself. How he wanted to follow Jesus after he was healed is what Matthew is laying emphasis on. So 'the two possessed with devils' refer to two personality. This is corroborated by both Mark and Luke versions. According to the fruit of his doings "And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him."( Luke 8:39b)" Jesus searches the heart to give every according to his ways and saw the man could be helped. It was he took over his case and restored him to his family. By the same token the devils were unanimous where they wanted to go." So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine./ And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters."(8:31-32)
The loss of swine was most unspeakable to the city where livestock counted more than men. Our times have no whit improved on the heart most deceitful and desperately wicked at the time of Jesus.
The Superscription can be put this way, "And the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself." Whose seed is in itself makes the tree of life and the trees of righteousness as of one kind. Whose seed is in itself refers to the word of God sown in our hearts about which we hold a spiritual space.
Thus Adam would not find an help meet. He was the double for his Son and his mate had to match bone for bone and flesh for flesh. This understanding is what being based on truth did. God breathed his spirit into his nostrils and his living soul established his world 'in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,'. Now for the verse,
"But for Adam there was not found an help meet for him./And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;"
What does sleep signify? For Jesus here was no doubt with regards to Jairus's daughter. Before he would go in he said, "For the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn."(Matt.9:24; Luke 8:8:49-55) He was there as the Word become flesh but also was in the land of the living where his Father was the God of the living." The same two worlds we are discussing and it's frame of reference is not only the now but also the day decreed for the Son.
When Jesus transfigured before the three disciples he merely showed the two worlds he carried about and it was same for Adam. He carried the same glory so he was naked but felt no shame.(Ge.2:25)
In 2:21 the Spirit speaks of a deep sleep which is not merely his sleep but with reference to the Son for whom he was a stand in. It is for this reason Elisha asked a double portion of his spirit. "And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me."(2 Ki.2:9). This is in context of the two worlds. 'Deep' refers to the death of the Son which would occur according to the scriptures in the day decreed for him.
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
This verse is a sobering reminder that "many are called; few are chosen". ( Matt. 22:14). We are reminded of the verse in Matthew 7:22 when people would claim they did many miracles in His name; but that He never knew them. Verse 24 needs further consideration. For the Father and Son to dwell within us ( John 14:23) we need a heart change; as it were. Without good soil; as it were there can't be fruit production ( Luke 8:15).
For Jesus to "commit himself" to someone means that He deems us acceptable "in the Beloved" ( Ephesians 1:6). Let that sink in; all of our "declarations" of faith; blessings; etc. are meaningless unless He has initiated that covenant; or bond with our souls. Therefore we see many examples of Jesus "weeding out" the crowds and individuals who claimed that they wished to follow Him as a Disciple. Counting the cost is a painful exercise; following Christ means an all or nothing proposition; something not palatable for many; in fact most who would claim to believe. As I have stated in previous posts; Jesus seemed to a large extent to provide food and healings to any who would request it. Yet He would challenge them for the reasons which He could see in their hearts for following Him (such as getting their fill of bread). Except for the few that would clearly come to worship Him and/or give God the glory we cannot be certain who is healed and actually came to true faith ( John 5:14 is a good example of this). Even His own brothers for a time didn't believe in Him ( John 7:5). Further exploration indicates that God must reveal Jesus to a person ( Matt. 16:17). May He enlighten our minds today as we ponder His Word.
To Alex7 - you continue to maintain that "...the good seed is the WHEAT" despite Jesus Christ's own words contradicting what you claim, as stated below:
"Now the parable is this: THE SEED IS THE WORD OF GOD." ( Luke 8:11)
Another scripture verse is this that confirms that the word of God represents "seed" and in fact "incorruptible seed":
"Being born again, NOT OF CORRUPTIBLE SEED, but of INCORRUPTIBLE [seed], by THE WORD OF GOD, which liveth and abideth for ever." ( 1 Peter 1:23)
So, my dilemma is do I believe you - who (presumably) is a 'man' who has NOT died and has NOT risen from the dead and has NOT ascended in Heaven - OR, do I believe the words in the Bible spoken by Jesus Christ Himself - supported by the Apostle Peters words also thereby making TWO WITNESSES that agree:
"...In the mouth of two or three witnesses [Jesus and Peter] shall every word be established." ( 2 Corinthians 13:1)
If I was to believe what you wrote, I would then have to say that Jesus Christ is a liar. I couldn't do that.
Given that Jesus Christ has both died, risen from the dead and ascended into heaven according to the scriptures and as both He and the Apostle Peter have affirmed that "THE [incorruptible] SEED IS THE WORD OF GOD", I have to reject your false claims.
In my post that responded to S Spencer, it focussed on the following statement:
QUOTE: "In John 15:2 and especially verse 6, Jesus is very clear that if Christians FAIL to produce unto God the required quantities of "spiritual fruit" expected, God the Father will remove them permanently from Christ. When that happens, John 15:6 says they become "withered" (spiritually) prior to men (or angels - Matthew 13:40-42) later gathering them prior to burning in the Lake of Fire." UNQUOTE
Instead of you addressing this very serious claim associated with Bible-based Salvation, you have chosen to refer to the parable of the Sower and the Seed and presented your "take" on what you believe it represents. I disagree with what you say because you open up your claims by saying:
- "the wheat is a Baby Christ".
There's nothing in the parable that says the "seed" is wheat or the "Baby Christ" as you claim. Jesus Christ's own words in scripture prove your claim here to be false, Alex7:
"Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God." ( Luke 8:11)
Given that you have this basic understanding of the parable wrong, it is pointless for me to comment on anything else in your reply.
You are replying to a comment by "Bagwill" 5 days ago:
Where in the Bible does it say that it's okay for women to be preachers.
MOUNTHOREB REPLY: Woman can prophecy not new info outside of the scriptures 2 Timothy 3:15-17. However, They preach what they have learned to others outside of the church or congregation. When asked a question about the bible. a woman can reply to anyone who is asking the question. even if it's a man, elder 1 Timothy 3 or someone in authority. but within the church or congregation 1 Timothy 3, a woman does not have authority over a man to speak to the whole church or Congregation 1Timothy 2:11,12,14 (unless there's no men available, if this is the case she covers her head within the congregation to PREACH 1 Corinthians 11:5;16 because of the angels in heaven) however, Outside of the building, yes a woman can teach others outside (family, neighbors etc.) Acts 2:16,17.
Jesus allowed women to speak to him and listen. even sit at his feet and ask questions. he allowed woman to speak and listened to them. and to follow him as he preached. Luke 1:36-38; John 4:7-54; John 11:20-29; John 20:11-18; Acts 1:14; Luke 8:1-3; Luke 10:38-42; Romans 16:1-5; Acts 18:2; Acts 18:24-26;
In marriage: Ephesians 5:21-33
These are all the scriptures I can think of. Revelation 22:17 "Its free"
In Philippians 2:12 Paul advices believers "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling".
Why fear and trembling? Fear what? Although the meaning of the verse is clear, I would like to point out another fear, not about our salvation but about our heart.
In Jeremiah 17:9, it is written "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" We don't really know our heart, we don't know how we are going to act when a temptation comes infront of us, that is why in the "Our Father in Heaven" we ask God to take temptations away from us.
In the parable of the Sower the 2nd and 3rd cases are about people who believed and were saved but still later in their lives they fell out,
Luke 8:13-14, " 13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection."
In the 3rd case it is very evident of where our heart can lead us if we are not careful in our spiritual life. Jesus said that "where our heart is, also our treasure is" and the opposite "where our treasure is also our heart is" is true. Jesus also asked us to love Him more even than our lives ( Matthew 10:37-39). Why? Because a. He deserves that and b. this will give us the assurance that we will follow Him to the end. If in the midtime we love something else more than Jesus then it is that that we are going to follow and not God, so we will leave our christian course. And that will lead us into trouble.
The resurrection made all things NEW, including your name.
Isaiah 62:2 ...... and thou shall be called by a new name ....
Revelation 2:17 ...and I will give him a white stone, and in that stone a NEW NAME written, which no man knoweth but he that RECEIVETH it.
Revelation 3:12 ...and i will write upon him my new name ...
If you don't YET know your new name, the word of God tells you what that name is.
You were married to Christ by his and your resurrection TOGETHER, the bride takes the name of her husband,
You were baptised in the NAME of Jesus.
There was only ONE BODY raised at the resurrection, and that ONE BODY was given LIFE by ONE SPIRIT.
1 Corinthians 12:27 NOW you are the body of Christ .....
Luke 8:11 .... the SEED is the WORD OF GOD .....
Isaiah 59:21 And this is my covenant with them (YOU), saith the Lord, the words that I (the Father) have put in your (Christ's) mouth, shall not depart out of your (Christ is the WORD, the SEED) mouth, nor out of thy SEED (your born again by the WORD of GOD----you become SEED) nor out of the mouth of thy SEED'S SEED (your are going to bear fruit---SEED), saith the Lord, from henceforth (the resurrection) and forever.
You are the BODY OF CHRIST.
Revelation 19:16 And he had on his vesture and on his thigh (body) written, THE LORD OF LORDS AND THE KING OF KINGS
Revelation 19:13 ...and his name is called THE WORD OF GOD ....
Revelation 1:1 The REVELATION (the revealing) of Jesus Christ .....
Revelation 1:11 .... I AM .... the first (man) ....I AM .... the last (man)
Exodus 3:13 .... I AM that I AM .... I AM hath sent ME to YOU ....
John 17:22 ...and the GLORY that thou has given me, I have GIVEN THEM ....that they may be ONE as we are ONE ...
You were given a NEW NAME, a gift of GOD, by the death and resurrecting of CHRIST.
Matthew 13:30 Let them grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye FIRST the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
The field is the world, both the seeds of wheat and the seeds of tares are planted together, they grow together and are harvested together, but one goes to the fire and the other to the barn.
During Christ time everyone was associated with farming, today not many know much of anything about farming.
The tares are weeds, yet they also bear seed, the farmer burned the weeds to destroy their seed; so they, the weeds, would not keep multiplying, the wheat is gather into the barn to be replanted and thus multiplying.
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: the SEED is the WORD of GOD.
Christ is the SEED, the SEED (wheat) is gather into the barn and replanted so it will multiply.
Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must go again (after your harvested) and prophesy again before many peoples, and nations and tongues.
Luke 20:36 Neither can they (the SEED) died anymore (you died with Christ): for they (the SEED) are EQUAL unto the angels; and are the children (the SEED) of God, being the children of the RESURRECTION (you were raised with Christ) ...
the new creation the new SEED.
Isaiah 59:21 And this is my covenant with them (the harvested SEED), saith the Lord (our Father), MY SPIRIT that is upon thee (Christ, the WORD, the SEED, and the WORDS (seed) that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy SEED, nor out of the mouth of thy SEED'S SEED forever.
The written word; through BELIEF of those written words, BECOMES the LIVING WORD:
The WORD of God is the SEED
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: the SEED is the WORD of GOD.
John 1:1 In the beginning was THE WORD (the seed), and THE WORD (the seed) was with God, and THE WORD (the seed) was God.
The WRITTEN words are just a WITNESS, of the LIVING WORD.
John 1:14 And THE WORD was made flesh .....
Romans 8:3 God (the Word, the SEED) sending his own son (the WORD, the SEED) as SINFUL FLESH ....
ALL FLESH (the WORD, THE SEED became flesh) died on the Cross with CHRIST: ALL FLESH arose a NEW CREATION (the WORD, the SEED)
Psalms 12:6 The WORDS (YOU, all men; the new creation, by the WORKS of the resurrection) are pure (living) WORDS: as silver TRIED in the furnace of earth (you were first made of dust), purified seven times (this is speaking of the living WORD (YOU) not the written WORD (the letters of the law).
The WRITTEN WORD has to become the LIVING WORD.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible SEED (sinful flesh), but incorruptible, by the (living WORD, made known by the written) WORD OF GOD, with liveth and abideth forever.
Isaiah 59:21 As for me (God the WORD, the SEED), this is my covenant with them (the new creation in Christ, by his resurrection), My spirit that I have put upon THEE (CHRIST), and my (living) WORDS that I have put in thy (Christ's) mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed (the WORD), nor out of the mouth of thy SEED'S SEED (the WORD) forever.
9) Stay close to Jesus and live.
Hebr 3:11-14,
"12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin 14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Judas is the most well known case.
see pt 3
God bless,

I will not use the word dispensation since I am against that idea, but still the grace will be gone at that time
Part 4
See part 5

(Part 1):
Luke 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the MYSTERIES of the kingdom of God: but to others in
parables; that SEEING they might NOT SEE, and HEARING they might not UNDERSTAND.
John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If you were blind, you should have NO SIN: but now you say, WE SEE, therefore your SIN REMAINETH.
John 9:3 Jesus answered them, Neither this man SINNED, nor his parents: but hat the works of God should be made manifest IN HIM.
God Bless You

Like Begets Life
The Superscription can be put this way, "And the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself." Whose seed is in itself makes the tree of life and the trees of righteousness as of one kind.
Thanks anyway, Alex 7.
Jesus allowed women to speak to him and listen. even sit at his feet and ask questions. he allowed woman to speak and listened to them. and to follow him as he preached. Luke 1:36-38; John 4:7-54; John 11:20-29; John 20:11-18; Acts 1:14; Luke 8:1-3; Luke 10:38-42; Romans 16:1-5; Acts 18:2; Acts 18:24-26;
In marriage: Ephesians 5:21-33
These are all the scriptures I can think of. Revelation 22:17 "Its free"
My thoughts on Assurance of Salvation
Richard, I continue my posts from yesterday.
God has given you a new name.

God bless you.
God bless you.
