Hello Robert I would like to add to my comment. Remember Jesus Christ if he wanted to could have killed everyone that crucified him, but he didn t because he had such a peaceful mission to do. He is our example of a peaceful mission. This is another reason why the Jews did not accept him. They were looking for a fighter, a messiah to kill their enemies and bring the Jews peace during this time. However Jesus let them know that was not his job at this time. This is why in Matthew 10 34 he was letting them know that at this time he was not here to bring peace on the Earth. In Matthew 10 35 this is talking about the conflict of truth. This is not a physical conflict. This is a spiritual conflict. The word variance means dispute or disagreement. There are disputes about what is the true salvation plan during this dispensation of Grace. You have disputes over interpretations of the Bible. Jesus knew that this was coming. If you read further down he was letting them know that whosoever receiveth him receiveth rewards. However, in the end the truth will stand. The truth is that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. The truth is that a person must follow Acts 2 38 in order to be saved. The truth is we must follow peace with all men, Hebrews 12 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord

Hello Robert Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost, Matthew 18 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. He did not come to bring peace unto the world at that time. See the Jews during this time was looking for a messiah to come, fight, and kill all of their enemies and bring them peace upon this Earth. However, Jesus Christ mission was a peaceful mission to save people and to reconcile the people back unto himself, 2 Corinthians 5 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation This is why it is important to get save by following Acts 2 38. However, Jesus Christ does want us to follow peace with all men during this time of the Grace Age, Hebrews 12 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord You are correct those people in the Middle East was fighting Israel before Jesus came and they will continue fighting and threatening Israel until Jesus comes back and stop them. The Bible even talks about wars and rumor of wars, Matthew 24 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars see that ye be not troubled for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

V35 Jesus is a separater. Read Matt.10 34 and Luke 12 51. He did not come to bring peace during this 1st.advent. World peace does not come until Rev.19 11 the second advent. ist. People preaching world peace today are not scripitual and are minions of the Anti Christ. Read Dan.11 21, the Anti Christ will come in peaceably and with flattery. If your in a church that is preaching peace in this age it is a false gospel. Peace does not come to earth until the King of Peace returns. The only peace we have today is the peace that Jesus gives us at salvation and with others that are saved. World peace will not come until He comes at the second advent. These politicians from all nations talking peace it is a false peace and will not come but after the tribulation when He come back. Rev 19

AWESOME SUMMARY AND SUCH A POWERFULLY, PROFOUND SCRIPTURE!! I do agree that Matthew 9 38 should have been the first scripture in the 10th Book to have tied in the introduction of the work put before them. Wonderful breakdowns of suject matter....love this website. Thank you!!

This passage is very often overlooked by so many. Throughout history people are born into a religion etc. By this passage grace , people will endure to search for answers about the kingdom of God. Your belief structure will tested and through Christ grace, if you pursue the truth the truth will set you free.

Norm, you are being lied to! The truth is that Jesus loves you so much that He took your sin upon Himself and died for you. He gave you His life, in His death, and resurrection, that you might live you must believe otherwise you can 't have a relationship with God. Why would God have a relationship w someone who doesn 't want Him? You 're either w God or against God. Hell is where God is not. Heaven is where God is! Choose Him! Ask Him to give you faith, to open your eyes and to set you free.
  • Norm on Matthew 10:33 - 11 years ago
Jesus curses those who curse him. It 's an eye for an eye concept. There 's no forgiveness and no everlasting love from his father who will also deny you and cast you into the lake of eternal fire. Jesus is revengeful and his father executes the revenge.

We are in the end times, and the devil don 't care who he uses to get at God 's people. You would think home church home would be a safe haven, but all the devil needs is a person thats not living God 's word to strike. A Sleeper Cell It 's real.

God looks on the heart. If I was given the chose of dying or living I would deny my faith in my head but not in my heart, why, because my work here on earth is not finished. I still have 500 souls to assist in salvation, and I still have 700 saints to assist in receiving the power of God with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.

God is an awesome God, He only wants what is best for us His creation. He died for us on the cross so that we might have eternal life, nothing is free in life, so we have to earn eternal life by living our lives as He instructed us to. He did nothing wrong as He walked this earth, yet He suffered a curel death for us so that we can have an eternal life with Him in Heaven only because He loves us so much. He did not have to do it and we all could have gone to hell, because Adam disobeyed His command in the Garden o Eden. So I am so greatful for what JESUS did for us and I 'm willing to do whatever He commands me to, Praise His Hoy name. I love you LORD.

God is anything but a bully.............he knows Satan plan for us and he wants to save us from eternal death. By letting us know of his plan for us and how rewarding and merciful he is. At this time he is preparing a mansion for all who wants a better life. A life of peace and eternal love with him and the Father.

Greetings my brothers and sisters, While it 's great many if u are trying to interpret the words of the gospel, ie christ, Ur all missing the simplicity in this teaching, Many a time jesus showed aggression and anger, He wasn 't dull to react to any injustice, Jesus smashed up a synagogue because the evil doers were profiting from Gods name.. He also stepped on a snake and killed it, So basically the sword thing really means wat it says, Fight the oppressors, deceitful tyrants and manipulators of the word of god
  • George Hartwell on Matthew 10 - 12 years ago
I am concerned about verse 28. In this verse, Jesus is telling us to fear God as God is able to send us to hell. This does not sound like a loving God. It sounds more like a hateful bully who wants to rule us by fear. There is no love there. This God is not worthy of my worship and devotion. I 'm out of here.

This scripture is one of the most stirring of all, it clearly saith the god spirit can speak through us, does it mean just to empower us in speaking for the gospel , or to give us knowledge not of our own, or even to speck to our spirit without using language at all ? Direct to our spirit !
  • Gilbert on Matthew 10 - 12 years ago
He is telling them how to deliver his message and what to expect. Some people will love hearing it they will ask you to dinner so eat with them and stay there while your in the city. Bless those who love to hear his word and when they don 't shake it off and move on. It will be those people who never learn about Jesus and pay the worse price of all. People will judge you and speak against you. Some will even try to use the laws to have you judged. Those closest to you will be the first one to tell you about the times you failed. They will use that to reject him. It won 't be easy. It will be a constant fight to bring others to him.

verse 21 "And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. " View it as enlisting to be a christian soldier. The wife and children will beg the husband and father not to enlist. Stay home and be with the family. A brother will say, "Stay out of harms way, do not enlist ". But if the man listens to his family and does not enlist if he does not stand firm in his beliefs of what is right and fight for them, then all his family including himself, will perish when evil men attack. One must affirm, "Thy will be done, " and allow God 's love to flow by being positive and constructive. Nothing is higher than Gods loving care, all must work together for truth and good.

I like reading Matthew chapter 10, we can applied this chapter to our daily walk with God and his precious son Jesus Christ, God has given us that same power, that no matter what we might be going through, we are able to heal the sick, raised the dead, if we have Faith and believe, that what ever we ask in Jesus name it shall be done unto, Hallelujah, praise God, remember that God is the I Am Dahlia

I lost a companion.to not willfully ending their life..it wasenttheir self .. it was a force of "fear " itself.. she feared God cause she was a good person .. In her last text message to.me she stated " I 'm Lost " however the son.of God came to seek.and to.save those who are lost.. amen ! I.believe she is in the heart of Jesus and being loved with a greater Love than any of us can comprehend ...

Re Paul vs 34 35. It helps to remember Jesus is speaking all these words in this chapter to his disciples that were going out to preach. They would be terribly misunderstood and friends and family would turn their backs on them, for the gospel 's sake. This still happens today when people accept Jesus ' lowly teachings.
  • Martha on Matthew 10 - 12 years ago
Jesus ' comments here are better understood when read in the context that he was sending out his first group of apostles to preach. Since they were departing from the religious establishment he was warning them they would be hates and persecuted even by their own families. This chapter therefore to me foretells what would happen in the "name of christianity ". Even today we know of many who were rejected by their families because they chose the lowly way of Jesus instead of man made religion, my mother being one.

Fear not him that can kill the body and nothe the soul, but rather fear Him who can distroy both body and soul in hell. Fear has been the most most of many ' downfall. Fear has deprived the rewords of many in the name of human laws and traditions. But our Master is reminding us today Fear Not . Stay blest. i love you all
