Daniel 12:2
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
John 11:11
After saying these things, he said to them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him."
Matthew 27:52
The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised
Revelation 6:9-11
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, "O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been
From what we do now in the scriptures; he was a man who pleased God and "was not"; he was the first man to be translated to heaven; then Elijah later on. Since it appears Elijah is one of the 2 last prophets then it is clear that he has NOT received as yet a resurrection body. If the principle of Heb. 9:27 holds forth; then the same would be said of Elijah; and hence these would be the final 2 prophets. This is controversial; but bolstered by the fact that Christ was said to be the first of the firstfruits; ( 1 Cor. 15:23) which was followed apparently by a resurrection of some of the saints from the grave at that point ( Matthew 27:53). The Rapture is the next phase along with the Resurrection of all the church age saints (it appears that perhaps the rest of the O.T. saints are resurrected later on in the Tribulation when we look at Daniel 12:2.
What we do understand is how to be a man after God's own heart and how that qualifies us for the Rapture and to escape all things to come; as well as the multihued of ten thousand times ten thousand angels also bolstered by Revelation 5:11. There are other texts quoted in scripture that we don't have copies of; even with the sermon on Mars hill by Paul as well as his comment to the Cretians being greedy and gluttonous came from secular writers (not a pleasant message to hear is true; no doubt). Scripture as a whole is intertwined with numerous cross references (a Dake's bible has over 100,000!) Some of these of course are questionable but in scripture it is clear that "thus saith the Lord" means certain things indeed happened.
..... Zechariah 13:7...Smite the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered...The Cross ...His death..Then i will turn my hand to the little ones his Children...When a seed dies it multiplies thus his Children of Promise...Behold me and the Children the Lord has given me...Are they not for signs and wonders Which are spirits as he said that that which is born of the spirit is spirit which are his Children...Our New Heart and New spirit...Its God himself that wants to turn our hearts to the Children which is the H.G...God swore by his very self when he made that promise of multiplication...Thus the Children the H.G. that is gona be born in our hearts and minds...But all this was hid from the wise and prudent but is gona be revealed unto babes...the H.G...When that BOOK is opened that has the words of life...That he wrote with his own blood...Plz note the Kingdom does not come till the Woman is in Child birth ( the Children that are gona be born in our hearts)...Unless you receive the KINGDOM as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in...And whosoever receiveth one such child in MY NAME receiveth me...There is a CHILD in your future which is the H.G. That Child of Promise...An Israel of God The H.G..

Jesus told them the only sign would be as Jonah, 3 days and 3 nights, but He confirmed the brass serpent was a foreshadowing as in John 3:14 and when He told them "When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he", John 8:28. My understanding and something to consider is it points to Matthew 27:50-54 when Jesus cried out the last time is when all these things happened.
The veil of the temple was rent, and the earthquake, and the rocks rent, and the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. The Greek word egersis, translated as resurrection here, is the only place in the NT it was used.
It means waking up, as from sleep, a rousing or rising up from passing out that I am sure Jesus did several times, but this last time when He cried out just before He died, all these things happened to show they have just killed the Messiah, the Son of God as verse 54 confirms all this happened when Jesus revived and cried out.
Death could not hold Jesus because He was without sin, Acts 2:24 and when God resurrected Jesus Jesus was victorious over death and is the Firstfruits of those that slept. We were slaves/servants of sin, in captivity, Jesus broke the bounds and led the captivity of sin, Rom. 6:6, and took us captive to Himself, Eph 4:8. He freed us from that enslavement or captivity to sin and when we are resurrected, we can say 1 Cor. 15:52-57.
In John 3:13, John wrote this after Jesus ascended, we see that for what John said Jesus was in heaven when John wrote this. Also, we see what Paul wrote, David has not ascended to heaven, Acts 2:29, 34, you would think if Jesus took people to heaven, He would have taken David.
Just some thoughts.
God bless,

I see your request was "before dawn " I hope you've made it into another evening.
1st I pray you will never be tempted to hurt, harm or destroy yourself ever. You are created by GOD ALMIGHTY in HIS image. Psalms 139, in Psalms 139:14, it says fearfully & wonderfully made, fearfully meaning; apprehension something bad will happen. Amazingly GOD knew & knows with each of us, we have the potential to do & choose bad._.._however HE created with mercy & calles us "wonderful" keep reading & amazingly we see Psalms 139:17 GOD's thoughts are " precious" towards us, they number more than sand, HIS precious thoughts for & towards us. & like David who wrote Psalms 139:18, we are still with thee, if & when we awake. Difficulties can seem impossible, even people of the Bible went through despairing of life itself, yet everyone that chose life over death, had a better end. In this earth & in the End. Revelation 11:18,
Jesus = Matthew 26:38-42, Luke 24:34,
Jacob aka Israel = Genesis 37:35, Genesis 45:27,
Elijah = 1Kings 19:4, 2Kings 2:11,
Not good; Judas= Matthew 27:4-8, 2Samuel 17:23,

Your question, who are the dead in Christ that rise first?
They were the Old Testament Saints, they died not having received the promise, eternal life through the resurrection of Christ Jesus.
When Christ was resurrected, they also were resurrected.
Matthew 27:52 And the graves were open; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Matthew 27:53 And came out of the graves, after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, (NEW Jerusalem) and appeared to many.
They were caught up into the air, and when we depart this body of flesh, in the twinkling of an eye, we are caught up, as they were into the presence of God, because you are married to him and have become one with him.
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a lamb stood on Mt. Zion, and with him an hundred and forty four thousand (symbolic, not literally 144,00), having his father's name written in their foreheads.
Revelation 14:4 ..... the are the firstfruits (of Christ resurrection) unto God and the Lamb.
Romans 8:23 And not only they (Old Saints), but ourselves also, which have the FIRSTFRUITS of the SPIRIT (life and truth in us) ....
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection .....
God Bless You!

We are all coming to the truth of God's word, God's doing and God's timetable.
Matthew 24
Christ is talking to his disciples about his coming again to them and the tribulation that must occur first, they didn't understand and most today don't understand.
Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, this generation (those to whom he was speaking) shall not pass, till all the things BE FULFILLED.
Revelation explains this, if you take it as the Revelation of Jesus Christ, and not something in the future, the generation living at the time of Christ saw the wrath of God that was poured out on Christ and they saw Christ appearing the second time as the Holy Ghost.
We have been in the days of Noah since that great tribulation was poured out on Christ, and his coming the second time as the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth .......
Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, the was a great earthquake: and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon (Christ) became as blood;
Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell to earth .....
Luke 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour and there was darkness over the whole earth until the ninth hour,
Luke 23:45 And the sun was darkened ......
Matthew 27:54 .....saw the earthquake .......
Revelation 15:8 ....and no man was able to enter into the temple (you are the temple), till the seven plaques of the seven angels be fulfilled.
God Bless you.
There is not two separate revelations in Revelation, it's one revelation, the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ .......
Revelation is not addressed to the seven churches, but to the angel of the seven churches.
Revelation 2:1 Unto the ANGEL of the church at Ephesus write ....
Revelation 2:8 Unto the ANGEL of the church at Smyrna write .....
Revelation 2:12 Unto the ANGEL of the church at Pergamos write ......
Revelation 2:18 Unto the ANGEL of the church at Thyatira write ....
Revelation 3:1 Unto the ANGEL of the church at Sardis write ......
Revelation 3:7 Unto the ANGEL of the church at Philadelphia write .....
Revelation 3:14 Unto the ANGEL of the church at Laodiceans write .....
Mark !3:24 But in those days (the wrath of God that was poured out on Christ), after the tribulation (that wrath of God, poured out on Christ) , the sun shall be darkened, and the moon (symbolic of Christ) shall not give her light,
Mark 13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall .....
Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth .....
Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness (the sun was darkened) over all the earth unto the ninth hour.
And the moon (symbolic of Christ) turned to blood, and covered the sins of creation.

Please pay attention to the following verses. All evangelists agree that Jesus died on Friday.
Matthew 27:62-64
"Now the next day (after Jesus resurrection, Sabbath), that followed the day of the preparation (Friday), the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again."
Mark 15:42-43 "And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation (Friday), that is, the day before the sabbath,
Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus."
Luke 23:52-54 "This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on."
John 19:31 "The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."
John 19:14 "And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!" So it was the day before Passover. In that specific year Passover was on the last day of the Jewish week, that is on a Sabbath day. Now about the different time, 6th hour of the day, I don't know to be honest and I couldn't find or read any reasonable answer.
About those 3 days and 3 nights please read my post to GiGi yesterday, its too long to rewrite it.

...... Malachi 4 :1 For behold the day of the lord cometh that shall burn as an oven ( furnace ) and all the proud and them that do wickely shall be burnt up....Which is satan and his angels and mans adamic nature that is in rank with satan....Remember Jesus called peter satan simply b/c peter had not been converted just yet...Remember our God is a consuming fire and thank God thats what mankinds needs....A new heart and a new spirit...After our old heart and spirit is consumed by his fire of the H.G. WHICH IS HIS JUDGEMENT....Whom the lord loveth he chastens with the fire of the H.G....The day of the lord will indeed burn as a furnace and thank God for that furnace....The fire of the H.G. THE FURNACE OF GOD.
......I Dreamed one nite that went to heavens Gate and i asked the angels to see Jesus..Finally he came and i asked him to be with him and he asked me if i cd go thru the Furnace of fire and i replied yes....And he said step back till we get the furnace ready....And there was a phone near by and i called my mom and told her that i wd not see her again i was gonna die in the furnace of fire....And here comes an angel saying the furnace is now ready....Then i instantly became 3 ppl...My 1st person ran into the furnace and my 2 nd person ran to it also...But when my 3 rd person got to the door of the furnace i thought about my Children and i stopped....And i woke up crying praying plz lord be merciful to me sinner...That was back in 1968...55 yrs ago
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified
Him, and the evildoers, one on the right hand, and one on the left.
The robbers kept reviling Him alright but what Matthew doesn't prophesy is that one had a change of heart, but Luke does prophesy it in chapter 27 one reviled Christ, and the other rebuked the reviler
Luke 27:39 And one of the evildoers which were hanged kept up a railing on Him, saying, If Thou be Saviour, save Thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we are receiving the due reward of what we did: but this Man did nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, my Lord, remember me when Thou shall have come into possession of Thy kingdom
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? - Jesus said these words
Interestingly if it were written 1st person as "I" it could have caused much confusion especially when quoted. GOD's wisdom always amazing!
Also to clarify who, to point to His human side fulfilling prophecy, son of man, son of David: Psalms 8:4, Matthew 16:28, = 2Samuel 7:16,17, Jeremiah 33:17,18,
Ezekiel 2:1,3, Ezekiel 37:12,13, = Matthew 27:50-53,
Just like when he cried out: Matthew 27:46 = Psalms 22, was he pointing those who knew scripture, to the very prophecy? I believe He was.
Also, To show He was like us, flesh & tempted, suffered yet without sin: Hebrews 4:14,15,16, 1John 4:2,
Hopefully these are helpful

Now in verse Matthew 27:53 the word "egersis" literally means "rising" and is another way of saying resurrection, like rising from the dead. If I understand well, you mean that those people that were resurrected were the ones that Jesus meant in John 5:28-29 so as to prove to Jews that He is the Son of God? Right? But verse 29 says "And shall (the resurrected people) come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." So it seems to me that Jesus talks about the future resurrection of the dead and the consequent judgement. Anyway ...
Now I also have a question. What time was Jesus crucified? In Mark 15:25 it says 3rd hour, that is 6+3=9 o'cock in the morning. Right? But in John 19:14, it is 6th hour (12 at noon) and Jesus is still standing infront of Pilatus.

Hello Jesse
I agree with you that the parable of rich man and Lazarus is actually a real story but some details in this story make me have some questions in my mind. Fistly as I said before what are those flaims/fire? Since both persons have no material bodies but are just souls then how come the rich man is burned by flames(physical flames?). Secondly reading the story you will see the words torments/tormented in the English text in verses 23,24,25. In the greek text the word "basanois" is the word for torments in v23, which is OK. But in the other two verses the word "odynomai/etai" is used for tormented. But this word is mainly used in greek for spiritual/psycological pain, not physical pain. Why is then the rich man begs for water(physical water?)? Can it be that this story is just fantastic? Jesus just wanted to make people realize the consequences of not believing in Him and told a completely imaginary story? Just womdering.
Now lets go to Matthew 27:51-52
"52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many."
Fistly there is a mistake in the position of comma in verse 53. The comma is after the word grave not the word resurrection, so it becomes "And coming out of the graves, after his resurrection went into the holy city and appeared unto many". This is the proper sentence.
You are asking, are these all of the OT saints? My belief is no they are not. It says "many bodies", not all. Secondly iF they were all the OT saints, which they must be many many millions of them, the whole land of Israel would be full of them, vastly more than the living Israelites at that time, which I find hard to believe. I believe that those were godly people that have recently died and were resurrected, lived the rest of their lives as before and died sometime later on, like Lazarus bro of Martha and Maria.
To be cont...
What if there is not a COLLECTIVE rapture of the church?
Isaiah 27:12 ....and ye shall be gathered ONE by ONE, ye children of Israel.
What if the 144,000 (symbolic, not literal) are the Old Testament Saints that were resurrected with Christ?
Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose.
God Bless you.

Lord does not mean God. If Thomas said that to Jesus in the previous verse, it should be taken in metaphorical sense and not actual. I cannot accept Jesus as Son of God nor God for the following reason .1. Matthew 24:36
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the Son, but the Father only.
Here Jesus makes a distinction between what he knows and what the Father knows.
2. Matthew 26:39
My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me, yet not as I will, but as Thou will.
Jesus' will is likewise autonomous from God's Will. Jesus is seeking acquiescence to God's will.
3. John 5:26
For as the Father has life in Himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.
Jesus received his life from God. God received his life from no one. He is eternally self-existent.
4. John 5:30
By myself, I can do nothing: I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who has sent me.
Jesus says, "by myself, I can do nothing." This indicates that Jesus is relying upon his own relationship with God. He is not trying to "please myself" but rather is seeking to "please the one who sent me."
5. John 5:19
The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son does also.
Jesus declares that he is following a pattern laid down by God. He is expressing obedience to God.
7. John 14:28
The Father is greater than I.
This is another strong statement that makes a distinction between Jesus and God.
8. Matthew 6:9
Our Father, which art in Heaven.
He didn't pray, Our Father, which art standing right here!"
9. Matthew 27:46
My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Inconceivable if he is God the Creator.

This is somewhat similar to the message that will come out in the Tribulation. The Rapture may be hid to some; but the graves being opened up worldwide surely will NOT be able to be hidden. Clearly; by the sixth seal there will be no atheists. Thus; no Gospel message will be necessary to explain to the world that Jesus is Lord; but a declaration of the Kingdom about to appear on earth; and the judgments to come. In a way these events are characteristic of the end of each dispensation; when judgment is pronounced or at the very least the end of a given Kingdom or civilization when their transgressions come to the full ( Genesis 15:16).
There have been many discussions about this. People differ in opinion. James 1:5, I ask you pray for wisdom & discernment of truth.
Why do you ask, this question like this?
1st we have Luke 16,
Then we have Paradise mentioned 3 times, in: Luke 23:39-46, 2Corinthians 12:2-4, Revelation 2:7,
Out of the Grave: Ezekiel 37:12,13, Matthew 27:52,53, John 5:28,
Judgement : Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 7, Romans 14:12, 1Peter 4:1-5, Matthew 12:36,
Jesus being the 1st born: Romans 8:29-39,
