This story is one that made me realize Gods people weren't so holy. They lie and then slaughter an entire city of men, then enslave women and children. And even Jacob is disgusted by it. They are not punished for their actions, and I see comments where people justify them killing. It never says he raped Dinah, only defiled, which she would be defiled period by having premarital sex in their eyes or by sleeping with an uncircumcised man. And none of us are supposed to kill. Ever.

Yes!! There was one time when I was just talking with Jesus, I asked Him to hold my hand. So I hold out my hand and asked Him to heal me of sickness and to wash my sins away, and I'm not lying when I tell you that after that I suddenly cried heavily for no reason. It was as if tears came out of me out of the blue. For me it was Jesus's hand who held me! Although I didn't feel Him physically, I definitely felt Him emotionally. It was a great experience for me!

why does say ,the circumsion by faith but the uncirmsiom through faith?

Hello Mishael ,i have been reading the posts on this site for quite a long time so i feel as if i know a few of you guys and girls but you dont know me ,im convinced that you are a clever guy and a faithfull Christian who has read all the Bible ,so you know already that we are called not to conform to this world ,we are called to resist our sinfull nature ,belive me when i say that i have felt like comitting an act of violence and i still do feel that way sometimes ,i know in my heart and from my Lord Jesus that that is not what he expects from me ,either on an individual level or as part of a group ,army ,country etc ,the natural man is strong in us all ,we want to protect the things and people that we love but we must fight against the natural man and love God and Jesus more than anything or anyone else , a true Christian must never under ANY circumstances instigate violence against any one else ,its a tough ask i know ,we are not even supposed to defend ourselves with violence ,we are not supposed to defend anyone else with violence ,Jesus faced all these temptations ,right up to the garden of Gethsemane when one of his disciples drew a sword ! One of the ways we can help our selves in this is to not put our selves in situations that might require us to use force ,so...we should not join willingly the armed forces or the police ,we know what will be required of us in those proffesions and we know that its not what we are called to do .

Hello Adam ,i absolutely get where you are coming from about Paul and his associates but in my mind they werent taking wages ,fellow Christians were ministering to them because they didnt even have what was necessary ,they were ministering food and clothing etc ,Paul had nothing ,we should never turn away from any one who doesnt have even the basics to be safe and warm and fed ,even if they are not Christians , my guess is that if Paul ,who had nothing felt as if he had excess he would pass it on to some one who needed it more than him ,he truely cast all his care upon the Lord as we have all read in his letters ,so yes ,i fully appreciate your post Adam but for me giving some one what they need to survive is not giving them wages its ministering to their needs ,to me wages is saying 'if you do this i will pay you for doing it ' . Paul had no problem with his eyes. That lie came from lost and confused theologians. He wrote a large letter by his own hand because he loved them. Usually, he would dictate a letter to a scribe wrote it down. He also testified of their love for him by saying that they would also pluck out their eyes and give them to him. You can read about his thorn in the flesh in 2 cor 11:23-30

"Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. If by that you mean, 'Was God deficient in any way by Him sending out His Word to be clothed with flesh & live on the Earth?" I would say, No. If that same Word which was given to the prophets to utter to the people & by that same Word God spoke to the people by His Son ( Hebrews 1:1,2), then Jesus is & always has been God's utterance to the sons of men.

One could also ask, 'By God sending forth His Spirit to do His bidding both in the heavens & Earth, is God changed by such an absence or deficiency of that Person from within His Being?' Clearly, No. God is Spirit - His sending forth His Word or His Spirit would not mean an absence in God's Deity or Holiness, rather that both the Word & Spirit are vitally & inseparably connected to the Godhead. And this is obviously what man is unable to replicate because of the limitations of our finite being.

In like manner, that Word made flesh, also exemplified in human form, God's Love, Grace, Truth & Holiness. Without Jesus amongst them, the people not only wouldn't have had God's Lamb sent for their salvation but would not have seen that God had indeed come amongst them (Immanuel) to visibly show them His Heart of Love for them; & that Love took Him all the way to the Cross. That He has gone all out to secure their hearts for Himself - but they rather called Him a devil & crucified Him. What will their end be?

The KJV bible references the cross a total of 28 times in the NT, I find no reference to stake, and also to fulfill John 3:14 he would have needed to be lifted up on a cross. I hope this helps.

It would have been something if Jesus set out similar to Melchizedek, with no record of birth etc. vs 4 Thou (Jesus) art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

verses 5-6 God calls Jesus "The Lord at thy right hand", and could have easily said "The God at thy right hand". God reminds us of sixth trumpet Jesus' day, the biggest one-sided battle ever, none like it afterwards. The Lord uses kings and armies of the earth to do his will, to fulfill scripture till time is out.

The man of God, Apostle Paul brings to light the need for Christians to accept the will of God in every circumstance because all the time it is for our greater good. In order to redeem from pride, Paul says he was afflicted. God taught him to accept and live with the pain because of his abundant grace available to him. Paul say if not for this he probably would have been talking only about his exploits. But God taught him to humble himself and rather glory in his infirmities. That's where our strength lies. To let people know that though i was weak, i could not help myself but God sustained me and brought me out.

The mere fact of even questioning in a public forum of whether we are free agents means you have it. eg- The two and a half tribes chose to stay and live in another area not originally designated by God. God is loving because He gives us the choice of choosing to obey or not. He is loving because He also tells us of the consequences. May the Lord's peace be upon all who choose to obey Him.

That was a lovely, God-led act you did Suziq, in giving a little gift to that elderly preacher. I'm sure he must have praised the Lord for your act of kindness & would have had a another confirmation from God of his important ministry - that the Lord was well aware of his service & providing this encouragement through your hands.

I would not have a problem with serving or ex-armed forces personnel in uniform in Church; and being in full dress uniform, they would be required to wear service medals. I would be very gratified & blessed to see that those who have been called to serve their countries, willing to lay aside comforts & security, to be found in a chapel declaring their submission & allegiance to the King of kings. This must speak volumes to them, as well as to those who worship & fellowship with those heroes.

Even though there are many more expenses & encumbrances upon Churches today, I still believe that they have grown too large, not numerically, but in dependency on the materiel, the latest in gadgetry & obligated salaries. This may not be a bad thing for sustaining or developing the local Church, but we have generally lost sight of what the early believers practised. The elders & deacons had secular jobs, ministry to the members or those outside Christ were done freely expecting nothing in return, & their worship places were in homes or in simple dwellings. The apostles or those in full-time evangelistic work received support from the Church (not by compulsion), and even Paul had to resort to his trade (tent-making) when finances got a little tight ( 1 Corinthians 4:11,12; Acts 18:1-3). So my feeling that any demand for a salary when members participate in Church ministry (preaching, music, maintenance of building & grounds), should not be the norm, but a freewill offering of service unto the Lord. Anyway, that's what I've always done & believe to be right before the Lord.
