something else. Wool is not wool till it is spun.....your interpretation of this verse is way of the mark.
  • Josh - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 5 years ago
If you already formed your opinion then why did you post your question pretending to be a real question? If this is about making some kind of public statement this is the wrong place for that. Jesus was a middle eastern Jew who walked a lot in the sun, so He was the same skin color as middle eastern Jews are today. If someone is trying to make Jesus into a certain skin color to earn fictional points for their own 'team' that is racism and that is wrong.

In this verse John describes Jesus as having hair like white wool and snow. The prophet Daniel wrote that he saw the Ancient of Days, describing Him as having hair that resembled wool ( Daniel 7:9). Seen as having such a resemblance to God the Father, Jesus is eternal. His white hair suggests He is wise, experienced, dignified, authoritative, pure, and glorious.

    Hi Gary,

I am very happy that you liked the post I put together of basically "sins or evil things" we should stay away from. I added a couple things though most of it is from the NT. I actually started taking notes of these things and have all the verses that I would like to share with you as it seems you are taking notes of these things also for your sermons. This will give you all the places, and a couple more, where I got those things I posted:

    Mark 7:20-23, Romans 1:21-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:16-21, Ephesians 5:5, Hebrews 12:14, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, James 1:19-22, Colossians 3,

As some things are noted in several places so I had to delete things so they would not show up twice.

Knowing this may help you preaching to others I am very thankful to put in my little bit to help. All glory to the Lord.

God Bless you on your journey brother Gary.

    Alysha,

You have been given some very good comments on this. I pray you look past what "skin color" Jesus Christ was and just focus on His Word. The Lord searches hearts.

Just to be clear also you state "the furnace is like a chimney" and liken it to a charred pizza. The Greek word used for burned is "pepyrmens". Basically meaning "fiery or to glow". Not charred. Glowing with Glory.

You can believe what you want but I pray you keep your focus on things above. Not of this world.

    God Bless.

Interestingly, in Hebrew, Adams name means MAN. Eve's name means, man with a WOMB.

I guess that's not helpful with those of the gender reassignment culture. Good News on that, is, Jesus died for all of mankind.

God "so loved the world" that He gave His one and only son; so that whosoever will call on Him, may be saved.

There's still a chance, so preach the Truth in LOVE, and allow the Holy Spirit to do His Work.

    Michael.

I errored on previous reply. I believe

Hebrews 6. is talking to believers, BUT not about SALVATION. If we can loose our salvation can we be restored? Every one sins, no one is perfect. Romans 7 ect..

Jesus is our advocate with the Father if we do sin. 1John 2:1. ect..

    Visiting the text.

Hebrews 6:4-6. For it is ""IMPOSSIBLE" for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

IF THEY SHALL FALL AWAY, TO RENEW THEM AGAIN UNTO (REPENTANCE) seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

IF THIS VERSE IS TALKING ABOUT SALVATION THAT MEANS YOU GOT ONE CHANCE. "" FOR IT IS ( IMPOSSIBLE ) TO RENEW THEM AGAIN!! If you sin it's over!

    Read on. NOTICE VERSE 9.

Hebrews 6:7-9. For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

    9) But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and THINGS THAT ACCOMPANY SALVATION, though we thus speak.

The Entire Msg to the Hebrews is about maturity.

they was under persecution and was still mengaling in Judaism.

Fruit and gifts accompany salvation through the Holyspirit, Not Judaism.

Salvation and SANCTIFICATION is by the work of the spirit and is a GIFT "un Merritted."

This Way is called God's election.

Romans 9:11. (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, NOT OF WORKS, BUT OF HIM THAT CALLETH;)

2 Timothy 1:12. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

    God bless

    A Genesis Explanation

It's all over the Bible, in different places: search the words: 'upside down'. However it has NOTHING to do with "Old Earth Theory" about creation. That's a cult.

The Bible which is a record of ONE person: Jesus; the Word of God. Genesis to Revelation leads up to the end of this age. 2 Peter: earth will burn up.

What scientists have long sought to explain=

TIME, FORCE, ACTION, MATTER: explained in Genesis 1:1. How did it happen and WHO did it? The Godhead: the Father, the Word of God, the Spirit.

The First thing God created, was TIME. "In Beginning". John 1:2-5, Hebrews 1:1-16. Time began to tick for Creation and Man. For seasons and times.

    God Wills it

The Son ( Hebrews 1:5), The Word, speaks it

    The Holy Spirit performs it.

Mishael: this is enough to get you on track with what happened in Genesis the first day. Get a KJV study Bible that has Center Column references to further explanation (has tiny abc's imbedded in the scriptures). You don't need secular books to read this and understand better.

We know the earth itself is billions of years old. All sciences have evidence. Carbon dating.

Genesis 1:1 shows God creating TIME, first. It was created for mankind.

Maybe your daughter will become a great evangelist amongst the scientific communities? It was recently published that all planets had water on them. It was proven that the position of earth allowed perfection for life. Who did that?

Water on the other planets disappeared. Only Earth has the water needed for life.

Or she may study a named asteroid (star), WORMWOOD (named in the Bible), that is going to hit earth and turn water to be bitter and poisonous. (Book of Revelation) Until recently there were many pictures of Wormwood. Now I think NASA has taken them down to avoid mass hysteria, but they are still tracking it.

Brother Adam, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

You say there is two fundamental opinions among believers:

    1 Fight the good fight

    or

2 The battle is already won

To anyone who understands the scriptures, this is not two opinions; but, ONE TRUTH. We fight the good fight; BECAUSE, the battle IS WON!

You are unfortunately speculating something, which with all due respect, I beg to disagree as the Bible does not specify that Adam and Eve bore daughters before Seth came along. Remember the basic principle in a law. "If it does not specify, we ought not to specify and therefore does not allow us to speculate or even guess unless it is implicit. Does it make sense or not? Look at the first creation in Genesis Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 and see the implication between these two creation scenarios. What does the word say, about the condition of the environment then compared in Chapter 2? How the peculiarities of how the order of living things were created then? How do we explain those discrepancies? Thanks, for your interest to my curiosity. Take care!
  • The CURSE OF WRECKED DOMINION - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 5 years ago
Romans 1 shows us that just by creation, the world, and what is in it: God has clearly shown us that He made it, and us

He used DUST to make man. Dust under a microscope has ALL colors. God likes colors. Every color of the spectrum (colors plus black and white). God Himself is Spirit. The Holy Spirit is Spirit. Jesus's mother was a resident of The mid-east. Jesus's skin color was from his mom. He was not born with white hair.

The Revelation scripture is the Glorious, Resurrected, Triumphant, ready for Battle, Jesus The son of God.

Even Solomon had 700 wives, 300 concubines; different cultures, religions, colors, hair types.

Our only prohibitions from Heaven are: Do Not inter-marry with Unbelievers! To do so, brings much grief and idolatry into our relationship and offspring.

Clearly in Genesis where God was giving Adam his orders: Mankind had Dominion over everything EXCEPT Other Mankind.

It was MAN that took dominion over what they deemed, lesser mankind. God DID NOT authorize that. The story of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel clearly demonstrates the human perversion of what God said concerning dominion.

God introduced different languages, and people dispersed to their own cultures where they could speak their own language. The rich and powerful still took dominion over the working class people. It continues to this day.

There will be no justice until this earth passes away as prophesied; and the New Heaven and New Earth is established by God. Without satans presence, we will all see what God intended for us: IN THE BEGINNING.

I think God still prefers different colors in creation and mankind. Don't you? I know I do. I like variety!! I think nutty buddy ice cream is the Tops, but other people like popsicles and frozen yogurt. Gee whiz...can't we just be happy with what we got? WE KNOW that GOD is going to make ALL THINGS NEW. Everybody's Life Matters to God. Choose Jesus now. Rest in GOD and TRUST HIM.

    Hello Dan,

I quote your words: "To say that the 10 Commandments are no longer valid, is to say that God made a mistake when he created the 10 Commandments!"

Did God make a mistake when he created the commandment to circumcise at

Leviticus 12:3 "And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised,"

Why, then, did the first century Church change that commandment of God and say that it is not necessary to get circumcised in Acts 15?

Please, if you could answer, specifically, my 2 questions above, I would appreciate it.

    Thank you for your time.

    Good day.

Hi Douglas, there's a page on this website that may help:

    Link

The Bible isn't opposed to science- the Bible has plenty of scientific evidence of it being true. But there's a difference between real science using the scientific method and being open to new information vs. fake science where someone may have a scientific degree, but simply uses this title 'scientist' to state his religious opinion. So, in many cases where you hear 'science vs religion', it's actually religion vs. religion. And the burden of proof isn't on Christians to prove God otherwise He doesn't exist- that is a logical fallacy. The problem is we exist and we must explain how and why we exist. The burden is on EVERYONE to explain that and Christianity has a logical explanation and atheists have an illogical explanation.

If we see a building isn't it logical to believe in a builder? If we see a painting isn't it logical to believe in a painter? If we see an amazing design, isn't it logical to believe in a designer? No 'scientists' are claiming buildings were created by a big bang and then gradually evolved to become bigger more complex buildings. But strangely 'scientists' will blindly believe a random explosion from nothing created something which had lots of sexual relations with itself until it became a human being, despite no evidence for that. No one has ever witnessed such a thing, nor can it be reproduced, nor has any kind of animal ever been witnessed changing to a different kind of animal. Yet, strangely you have a religion built around it- atheism, but they just call themselves 'scientists'. No, that violates the scientific method.

The Bible actually has plenty of scientific evidence. You can see seashell and sealife fossils in the tallest limestone mountains in the world- 10,000' level and higher. I have seen them myself. That is evidence of a global flood- just as the Bible describes. Out of space. Have a great day.

Brother Simon, may CHRIST IN US grace us with His wisdom and His understanding.

I agree, we can only be born again BY RESURRECTION.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in THE FIRST RESURRECTION: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be Priests of God and Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

This happens before the second judgement in Revelation 20:11-13

Luke 20:36 Neither can they die anymore...

Christ is telling the Sadducees; who did not believe in resurrection, that the ones APPOINTED TO DIE with him on his cross would never die again.

Psalms 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come; and the people which SHALL BE CREATED shall praise the Lord.

Psalms 102:20 ...to loose those APPOINTED TO DEATH

Luke 20:36 ....being the children of the resurrection.

1 Peter 4:17 For the TIME IS COME that JUDGEMENT must begin at the HOUSE OF GOD.....

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose HOUSE WE ARE...

John 5:22 For the father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgement unto the Son.

2 Corinthians 5:10 We must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ....

We were RESURRECTED with Christ and Christ is dwelling IN US; therefore, Christ's THRONE is IN US and were are BEFORE the THRONE being JUDGED NOW by Christ (the word of God).

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed (flesh), but by incorruptible, by THE WORD (SPIRIT) of God, which LIVETH and ABIDETH forever. (you will never die again after you died ONCE with Christ).

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is APPOINTED unto man ONCE TO DIE (with Christ on the cross or later at the second death), but after this then the JUDGEMENT.

Hebrews 9:28 .....and unto them that look for him shall he appear a SECOND TIME (the first time was in the flesh; the second time in SPIRIT, you don't see him he is like a thief in the night) WITHOUT SIN UNTO SALVATION.

Having been called I am striving for perfection so I will be chosen. Good comments down below from Spencer, I admonish your good works as well as Richards. If the bible tells us that: Transgression equals the Law and the Law equals Transgression; then we look under "Tees" for the category "Transgression" and we find it not. I pray and hope for a "Transgression" category or "Radio button" Transgression.

Why? A favorite question of the ignorant and unlearned. I admonish the search engine Richard because the search engine presented over two pages verses with "transgression". Please add this category so I may write my sermons with greater efficiency unto perfection.

I am very thankful for this website Richard, actually I am extremely thankful for this website Richard.

    Brother Michael,

When Jesus speaks, he speaks the words from his Father - God.

    John 12:49

"For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak."

    John 12:50

"And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak."

Jesus states in John 12:50 "And I know that his commandment is LIFE EVERLASTING."

To say that the 10 Commandments are no longer valid, is to say that God made a mistake when he created the 10 Commandments!

I believe that Satan is certainly hard at work here in this world, with so many people that now believe that Gods 10 Commandments are no longer valid.

    Dear Sir,

My heart aches with you at this time. I am so sorry that you have lost the love of your life.

God promises to comfort and help you, if you know Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior and he always keeps his promises.

*Nothing or no one can separate you from His love ( Romans 31:39).

He is the God of all comfort ( 2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

He heals the brokenhearted ( Psalm 147:3).

He promises to help you & uphold you by his mighty power ( Isaiah 41:10, 13).

His help is present & abundantly available and He will never leave nor abandon you ( Psalm 46:1; Hebrews 13:5-6).

He gives extra strength when we are weary ( Isaiah 40:26-31).

May you trust in Him and rely upon his promises.

    Love in Christ,

    Mrs. Curley Manning

    Salvation Scriptures:

there is none righteous, no not one ( Romans 3:10).

all have sinned and fall short of God's glory ( Romans 3:23).

the wages of sin is death, but God's gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ( Romans 6:23).

whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved ( Romans 10:13).

It's puzzles me how you admit they're in unbelief but insists they're saved.

If you're in unbelief you're not saved, and you can't loose what you didn't have.

Judas was a follower, did he loose salvation? Or did he ever have it?

Concerning Acts 10:44. Look at the previous verse.-

Acts 10:43. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever ( BELIEVETH ) in him shall receive remission of sins.

Yes, you get the Holyspirit the moment you believe. And when you do you will ABIDE, and want be broken off. "Refer to what Brother Jesse has already declared on this"

A Christian may start out fruitless but he want stay there, God is the vine dresser,

    Same concept here in Mathews,

Matthew 7:17-20. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A GOOD TREE CANNOT BRING FORTH EVIL FRUIT, NEITHER CAN A CORRUPT TREE BRING FORTH GOOD FRUIT.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

My thoughts would be go back and consider the verses already given

Hi Lauren, in 2 Corinthians chapters 10 & 11, the apostle has been forced to vindicate his apostleship - he actually found this difficult to do as he was the type who would put Christ at the forefront rather than himself. This would be a long study to examine both chapters, but if you read them again, bearing in mind that Paul was compelled to prove his apostleship to a Church that was carnal in the greater part & given over to listening to false teachers. The Church was fascinated by these teachers, for their knowledge, oratory skills & smooth words, so much so, that Paul, in their minds, was insignificant in comparison & also not at the same level as the other apostles. Even though he was "rude (poor, not with finesse) in speech", yet he wasn't in knowledge (the Truth): 11:6. Though any boasting does not glorify the Lord (as was seen in the false teachers who delighted to show their oratory prowess & wide knowledge), Paul would oblige them & boast a little to show that his credentials of suffering for Christ (11:23-30) were as good, if not of greater importance, than what the others had to show.

And yes, Paul did drift into sarcasm as he questioned their wisdom in receiving these false teachers ("suffering (allowing) fools"). They were more prepared to be brought into bondage again, being taken advantage of, even being slapped (v 20), rather than give credit to Paul, to his apostleship & his teachings amonst them. The Corinthian Church was easily led astray, not strong on the doctrines & teachings given to them. If a strong popular figure should arise, they would be easily inclined to give them audience. Paul's letters to them reveal much of his heartache for them.

There is a lot of I KNOW AND YOUR WRONG attitudes out here when it comes to The Word of "God", (yes spelled with a capital G by the way), but is it really getting us anywhere? 2 Timothy 2:23

(But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.)

    Titus 3:9

(But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.) When it comes to God's Word no one knows it better than God, go to him, pray for understanding and whatsoever in faith believing ye ask, ye shall receive! The preacher said it best in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.) God Bless and fight the good fight.

Could anybody help me understand II Cor:11-21? Was Paul being sarcastic here? Or is he saying, "Don't suffer fools gladly, let them smite you, take advantage of you..." Isn't the teaching contradictory, "don't suffer fools gladly" and "turn the other cheek" ? In the past, I have let people walk all over me, fearing to call people out on stuff, as though that were not loving them in Christ. Thank you.
