Are there any other bible verses referencing 'righteous anger' ? As Jesus had when dealing with the moneychangers at the temple in overturning their tables.

Thank you brother Spencer for taking the time. I lean towards this thought being what Paul was trying to say. I do agree that these verses do not lend much support if any to the subject of personal salvation.

I am a witness though to very many reconsecrations from what appeared be, by their own words, having been overtaken in sin. The very short story and I have my own too, are night and day changes in spirit, actions and love from coming through a repentance and then separation from the willing sin(s). The power of the Holy Spirit in some of these changes is convincing to anyone witnessing at the time. These experiences from separation by sin to repentance and reconsecration are good and edifying and keep the Church of God blameless. My thoughts are open to correction.

Psalms 51:11. CAST ME NOT AWAY FROM THY PRESENCE; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

In the old testament God's presence came amongst them and I believe empowered them.

The spirit even came upon Nebuchadnezzar and many others as instruments. Today he put his Spirit in us.

Hebrews 10:16-19. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

King David was a man after the Lord's own heart but he lost his joy and that's what he's crying out for.

Psalms 51:12. "RESTORE UNTO ME THE JOY" of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psalms 51:14. DELIVER ME FROM BLOODGUILTINESS, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

Hi ,does any one else think that the true sabbath is yet to come ? One day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day ,might not the true sabbath be the one thousand years reign of Christ over the humans left on earth ,wherein sin shall exist because humans still exist ,but sin shall be greatly dimished ? Could not the one thousand year reign of Christ in person from Jerusalem be the true sabbath ? All imput appreciated .

That is a very good question regarding the Saturday/Sabbath, and Jesus showed us numerous times that we can perform "good work" helping, saving a persons life, healing, feeding the hungry, etc.

Luke 6:9

"Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?"

Luke 6:10

"And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other."

So Jesus showed us we can do good things on the sabbath.

I believe as a Christian I should not work or try to gain for "myself" on Saturday/Sabbath. I should also not participate in any worldly activities ie: sporting events, going to movies, etc.

God is asking us to give him 1 day out of 7 to rest and give thanks. Is that to much for him to ask? I don't think so, especially if is so important to God that he says "REMEMBER TO KEEP HOLY THE SABBATH". Not something I want to handle lightly....nor God forbid - Forget!

There are millions of christians today that are comfortable forgetting the 4th Commandment - I thank God that I am not one of them.

Good Question, I believe Paul's Message to the Jews that may have possibly witnessed the crucifixion would not change if he spoke to those who haven't seen, as well as us.

Which leaves each view with the same problem, "Impossible to restore " When l consider verses 7, 8, and 9

I believe he's talking about what accompany salvation. "Maturity and fruitfulness by the Spirit, It's Impossible to achieve that under the Leviticus priesthood. That would be in the context with ch 4 and 5 and the following chapter, ch 7. Let's do a study on verses 6 and 7, I believe they speak of Growth.

Thiese are very tough verses to. e dogmatic, But can for sure rule out loosing salvation.

It is a lie to refer to people having a Human Spirit. Born to flesh with the Spirit of Death, Lucifer, which is totally "Crossed" out by the "Cross" and replaced with the Spirit of Eternal Life,Christ. The dead and buried with a Soul without a body that must Receive by its own words Christ. Say it, "I am convicted, empty, and need a Savior. This dead body is given the greatest of Gifts. Eternal Life through Christ! Born Again, The Soul now has a Body to express this individuality.

Hello brother Spencer, Is there a choice of Paul speaking in the Hebrew's 6 interpretations of this repentance being for the Jews alive who witnessed the heavenly gift crucified, being then only, in Jesus Christ at Calvary, that no other day will come?

As we know there's several views of Hebrews 6. Here's 4 commonly used.

1) Paul is talking to unconverted Jews that has been enlightened but turned back to Judaism.

2) Paul is talking Jewish believers to urge them towards Maturity, who's mengaling in Judaism, as did the Galatians.

3) Paul is talking to a mix of the 2 just mentioned 1 and 2.

4) He's talking about Jews loosing salvation.

Consider this verse you mentioned-

Hebrews 6:4. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

If I may just ask you one question concerning keeping the "Sabbath day" holy. In several places it states:

Exodus 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.

The question I ask is what would you say to someone who worked on the Sabbath day to help someone else or do something good/righteous?

The question, though, begs to be answered. Why did the Apostles never write to the Church to obey the Sabbath. I don't find the 10 commandments in the letters from Romans to Revelation. They speak only about the commandments - which refers to the commandments of the New Testament. Sabbath keepers always turn to the Old Testament books such as Exodus to say that we must keep the Sabbath. Why don't they quote from the instruction letters sent to the Church - Romans to Revelation?

I would answer, because the Apostles never instructed the Church to do so. In fact, Paul says the complete opposite.

Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH DAYS:"

I, personally, will follow Paul's advice - and let no man judge me.

Another break! My wife's folks live a couple thousand miles away so her brother is helping make decisions on what's next for mom and dad. Currently they are in their home. Meanwhile my wife dropped of our youngest (the youngest grandchild) at the country Christian school and is now driving further west and north to see our fallen brother's wife. I hope and pray that she can comfort this young man's wife with the love that is shed from above. We all have broken hearts right now and are looking to Jesus for His understanding in us regarding this family. Christian life is for real and is to the finish.

If you agree that your definition of a Christian is different, then what is your definition? What exact criteria makes someone a Christian in your view?

My criteria is: believe Jesus Christ, repent/confess sin, and be baptized. Matthew 10:32, John 3:16, Luke 5:32, Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16. A Christian is a Christ follower, which is an action. It is an ongoing activity and responsibility to follow Jesus and obey Him and strive to live a holy life. It takes great effort to do this avoid sin. Look at Paul's struggle in Romans 7. John 14:15. Romans 12:2, James 2:26, John 8:11.

The gentleman I previously spoke about did all the above and is a Christian, but you said he wasn't. Why not? In your view is a Christian not a Christian if he sins just once, or twice, or does it depend on the sin?

And Jesus's followers were indeed Christians. A literal Christ follower is as true to being a Christian as you can possibly get. They literally followed Him around all day, listened to His teachings, believed Him, tried to emulate Him. Judas and Peter both denied and betrayed Him as Christians, because they had freewill to do so, just like Satan had freewill in heaven to do what he did, and just like so many Christians do today, by leaving, denying the faith, committing sin.

What is most sad is this Christian I referred to living in sin right now is doing so because of messages he's been told like you're telling. He's been brainwashed into believing he is already saved and he can now do whatever he wants- that it's impossible to lose his salvation. And now he's enjoying sin and doing all kinds of evil, because he was told he's saved and in the book of life. Christians who think they can get by with committing unlimited sin are completely ignoring what Jesus said. ( John 14:15). That's like slapping Jesus in the face. Romans 14:13. We are to not cause others to stumble.

Our current government leaves much to desire by way of leadership and love of Scripture. Covid 19 seems over whelming; our economy may be tanking; however, rest assured our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ is still in charge. Although it seems to be bleak, scripture tells us otherwise. Our redemption will come quickly. Know Jesus Christ-Know Peace; No Jesus Christ-No Peace!

1) In short, yes, Peter is warning about false prophets who left the true faith and, in short, apostatized. But, the warning that Peter is giving, is to faithful believers, to not follow them and become rejected as they were. Notice.

2 Peter 2:3 "And through covetousness shall THEY (apostates) with feigned words make merchandise of YOU (true faithful believers): whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."

The apostates want to make the faithful Christians into apostates too. Thus, the warning. Why? Because there is a real serious danger.

2) They were not just enlightened, they were true believers.

Hebrews 6:4 "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made PARTAKERS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,"

If you are made partakers of the Hold Spirit, you have received God's Holy Spirit and are a Christian. You have to safeguard that or God will take away his Holy Spirit.

Psalms 51:11 "Cast me not away from thy presence; and TAKE NOT YOUR HOLY SPIRIT FROM ME."

Jesus did say He was God. John 10:30, I and my Father are one.

Roman's 6:23a, for the wages of sin is death. The penalty for a "small" or a "large" sin is the same. The conclusion, death is the penalty, validates the thesis. All sin is equal.

Mom-in-law was born in Oklahoma in the dust bowl years. She was born pre-mature so they put her in a shoe box behind the wood stove and expected her to not make the night. Now she has many grand children all of which are faithful Christians except for the youngest grandchild whom is not converted. Many of the grandchildren have children already and are being raised in loving Christian homes and they know the faith and love of their grandmother and grandfather.

Thank you brother Chris, When I can I will write some more. Pray for my wife's dad and mom, mom is facing her last days as a faithful Christian, wife and mother. And here closer by is a fallen brother with a young family with maybe one converted child. He is now in jail. I have loved him since he was a young boy. The law itself will be judging him and it is our hope to restore his faith and place in Jesus Christ like mom-in-law and dad-in-law have carried to a very old age together. Back to making work happen. Thanks for the encouragement.

You've posted a lot of scripture, unfortunately many of the same scripture.

some refers to those were enlightened but not saved, "as many of us today but never coming to Christ for salvation " And some saved but haven't matured as you see here.

" Hebrews 5:12-14 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

And we see both groups in the verses you stated.

But Like a said and still say it's not talking about SALVATION in Romans 6.

Another verse you keep posting is 2 Peter 2:20 to make a point of losing salvation from a group that never had it. if you want to consider that verse let's start from verse 1.

THESE PEOPLE PETER IS SPEAKING OF HAS HEARD THE GOSPEL BUT IS NOT SAVED.

Brother Carleton. I agree that if a brother "be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted." ( Galatians 6:1).

As the apostles did in encouraging the Church to walk in the way of holiness, likewise must we give due regard to the brethren caught in Satan's traps. We have not been given the privilege to know any man's heart or his standing before God. We accept the testimony & the life of the believer as genuine, treating him/her with Christian love giving due care & concern. Likewise, the apostles taught or warned the believers, not knowing their true spiritual condition, but accepting them in the faith.

So, as I see the discussions here, it's not whether there is a Christian responsibility to help a fallen believer & restore him to faith by the power of the Spirit, but whether the fallen (away) 'believer' has considered his erroneous ways & his love for the world & its offerings having a greater appeal than what the blessed Lord has done & promised him. The question then is: is such a 'believer' truly a child of God, having no exercise of spirit, having no appeal & warning from the Holy Spirit to change course, but he goes on blindly & carelessly into damnation. Therefore, since we cannot judge the heart of man & how the seed of God has fallen into that soil, we are constrained to not cast judgement but find recourse to the fact that 'whom God saves, He saves entirely into eternity'.
