We Can see even David knew Jesus was coming way after his death. His writing's indicate that

he knew Jesus and God were one!! The battle is won we only have to stay focused on Christ either until we are call home or he coming back to rain.

I understand that those who have rejected Christ now or died not having heard the Gospel are consigned to hell. And there is no second chance for anybody. Hebrews 9:27, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement". The decision we make in this life is the one & only opportunity we all have. It's a message many don't want to hear - but if we don't tell them, we have sealed their fate.

To know that your experience of re-birth by God's Spirit is real, is found in the testimony from God's Word & by the witness of His Spirit to your heart.

There are many Scriptures that tell us, what God has done in a truly repentant, confessing sinner, is a declaration by God. And if God has said it (through His Word), then He cannot lie & He is faithful to perform it in your life. Look at: John 3:16; 1 John 1:9; 2 Peter 3:9; Acts 2:38; Luke 15:10; 1 John 5:4; 1 John 2:29 are just a few.

Not only from God's Word that He wants all to repent & turn to Him, but also His Spirit witnesses to our hearts:

Romans 8:16; Galatians 5:17,22; 1 Corinthians 12:7 ff; 1 Corinthians 2:14 are some for you to consider.

So these verses declare God's ministry to us to assure our hearts that we belong to Him, i.e. we have been born again by His Spirit. But for each of us, the Spirit's ministry can be specific & special. One may see God doing mighty things through him that blesses many. Others, can have a quiet confidence in the promises of God & willing & able to share with others what God has done in him. But in all cases, the indwelling Spirit is there to assure you, comfort you, direct you, teach you & give you a hope for the future, which an unbeliever simply cannot have & enjoy.

Sometimes, the initial reception of the Spirit can be quite dramatic, whether in outward manifestations or an inward contrition & resulting joy in salvation. If you've had that experience, be assured of His Presence in you. If you've been baptized in water, here is another great testimony of an inward response to God's Work in you. But if you're feeling empty & no different from when you were unsaved, then you need to examine yourself whether you have come to God in the way that God has prescribed or to check whether you are harbouring any sin that stops His Spirit from fully working in you. I can't know all about you from where I am - you will have to search your heart & life & be honest with God.

This subject has been dealt with a number of times & recently I've share a few points on this with one brother, Rodney, who also wanted to discuss the subject. So, if you're interested, you may find my response to him on Page 4 or 5 (about 2 days ago) on these 'Discussion' pages, rather my rehashing everything again to you.

However, I was also interested in your last comment: "since i have pointed this out i have been pushed back by my ministry." Are you saying that you presently attend a Fellowship which meets on a Sunday & your 'Sabbath' views are having an adverse effect on your ministry? If you are of the belief that it is wrong to worship on any day but the Jewish Sabbath, then you need to change Churches - I can't imagine that if I faced such a dilemma, how I would ever enjoy fellow-shipping with such believers. May the Lord help you to find peace on this matter & also to enjoy a fruitful ministry.

Jehu was a King in Israel, in the days of the prophet Elisha. As most of the Kings of Israel were considered as 'bad' kings, who were given over to idolatry & the practises of the heathen about them, we see Jehu, who in part was 'good' in his 'obedience' to God. But he too succumbed to wicked acts later on. Rather than re-tell about his reign, you can read about him in 2 Kings chapters 9 & 10, beginning with Elisha anointing him as King over Israel. Jehu reigned for 28 years.

Yet in Hosea 1:4 we read: "And the LORD said unto him (Hosea), Call his (Hosea's son's) name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel."

The name 'Jezreel' means 'God will scatter'. And this was a specific name to indicate how God would deal with Israel as they continued to hear but disobey God's Words to them. And the "blood of Jezreel" will be avenged against the "house of Jehu" (i.e. not just to King Jehu but to his son Jehoahaz who came after him & succeeding generations (Jehoash, Jeroaboam II & Zechariah). This account of Jehu is interesting: when you read of the blood-thirsty dealings that Jehu had with his enemies, we see that he did it in accordance to God's Will. Yet, Jehu is now accused of doing wrong (in Hosea 1:4). So when you come to it in your reading of 2 Kings, please bear in mind, that it was one thing for Jehu to demonstrate obedience to God & yet there can still be an attitude of doing that act of obedience with the wrong motive. In Jehu's case, in his 'obedience' to God, he was actually doing it also out of self-will & of personal ambition & hatred. And of course, both he & his progeny who sat on Israel's Throne, gave themselves to idolatry & wickedness. So this good king, Jehu, did not just turned out bad in the end, but was condemned for his (& his progeny's) wickedness.

And just to your other question about the Godhead: that's correct, when the term Godhead is used (as in Colossians 2:9: "For in him (i.e. in Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."), it is understood that the Trinity is spoken of, as the Godhead in His Fullness constitutes the Person of His Son & the Person of His Holy Spirit.

If any of the Persons were absent, then the Godhead (or, Trinity) would be incomplete & God wouldn't be God as revealed in the Scriptures & to our spirits. His Fullness & Unity are expressed as God the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit: "these Three are One" ( 1 John 5:7).

Whenever we give all our attention, time, energies & finances to something that may give us satisfaction but not necessarily useful to us, then it becomes a problem & maybe, even sin. Since gluttony isn't generally considered as a major weakness by society when compared to other personal issues, it's easily overlooked, & we're just told to try harder to eat less at least for the sake of our health, as other problems of BP, cholesterol, diabetes, joint pain, etc. will ensue.

But the core issue with gluttony, as with other over-indulgences we might give into, is that there may be other underlying issues causing that or at least there is a failing of putting life's events in the correct perspective & balance. The Apostle Paul shared this: "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any ( 1 Corinthians 6:12) & "not all things edify" ( 1 Corinthians 10:23). He knew that there were many things he could lawfully do, but he had to reassess them whether by doing them, there would be any real benefit or even whether that act could bring him under its control. As a Christian, Paul was compelled to judge himself whether anything he did brought him under its power or did he still have personal control over it, thereby being the person God expected of him.

If food, any food, has control over your life - you find that the urge to eat even when there is not really an appetite to do so - when your health & appearance suffer because of it, then you know that your craving to eat is a problem - that your eating is not just to satisfy hunger but possibly a crutch to cover over some other issue. Your endeavour to lose weight is commendable, but the core issue of gluttony is harder to deal with & will require God's help & a strong mind & discipline. The pain in abstaining will be there, but the results of good health & being an over comer for the Lord's sake, will be your victory & joy.

Why does the Bible keep repeating to fear God? I've gone to church since I was a kid and am saved. Why does it say to fear him when I should Love him and look forward to going to Heaven to be with him?

I have had such a hard time with reading and learning all of my life. I'm the youngest of six children born into a Baptist Ministers family and am now sixty eight years of age. I have tried to read and understand the Bible for years and I haven't been saved very long so tonight as I started reading the devils starded the plan of interrupting me every verse causing my attention to fall off course. It was like the lord told me to use my recorded version of the KJV of the Bible and I did. Then the devil made the lord and we'll shout it out!,lightning not good. Then the lord hit me with use your tablet and read alongside with your recorded version and Praise God it's working. Then not only has he opened the door for just reading, he has given me commentary and discussion. PRAISE THE LORD AND THE KEEPER OF THIS.ORG of the KJV of Gods word for people like me. You'll meet me in heaven one day

Raising a family, working a couple jobs, sending kids to a Christian school. working long hrs. turned into more than I knew I needed. We fail to draw the line when it comes to those things that are important and those that are needful! Peace ,love and joy, were not evidence of a thriving family. Sin, poor decisions, unholy friends, only contributed to further dissimulation. The family that loves Jesus first , will be the happiest! Christ first in all things! Rich or poor put Him first!

That was a great testimony you shared, Michael. It was a joy to read of your fire for the Lord & His Word. May He bless you & encourage you in your endeavours for His Kingdom.

The Lord God has been so very loving wonderful to me recently! I can not stress reading his word enough and seek him with your whole heart you will be rewarded beyond measure if you persist in hearing only from him ! He can make your heart pure and give you a love for him that makes the world so non essential by comparison!

There are Scriptures that indicate that Jesus will reign on the Throne of David but not about any co-regency with him.

Isaiah 9:7, "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

Luke 1:32,33, "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end."

David will rise again at the general resurrection & may even figure prominently under the ruler-ship of Christ, but it will only be Jesus as seen & worshipped at His Throne.

I believe the way to understand this passage, particularly, "every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn", is that all who would stand against Israel accusing her will not prevail, as her heritage in God & performing the Will of God, will be a witness of condemnation to their false witness. This should have been Israel's experience & joy, yet as we know, they failed miserably, often departing from serving God to the worship of idols.

And for the Christian, we have a similar Scripture in the NT: Romans 8:31-34, "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."

Man may raise many accusations against us, but we are not to retaliate in anger or judgement, because it is Almighty God Who is on our side, & Who fights our battles for us. It doesn't matter what man sees or thinks of us - what matters is how God looks at us - & He always sees us through the Gift of His Son & His Sacrifice. We are children of the King: what can man ever think or do to us without God's Knowledge or intervention?

I'm unsure what part(s) of this chapter in Exodus 16 that you're having difficulty with, but here is an outline for you:

The children of Israel who were in bondage in Egypt were finally freed by Pharaoh to leave, after his land suffered mightily under God's Hand. So this Exodus 16 narrative finds Israel, under Moses' leadership in the Wilderness of Sin (also spelled, Zin). But as is human nature, they complained against Moses & Aaron for bringing them out into a wilderness where there was little to eat, unlike their time in Egypt where they didn't starve even though they had to work hard as slaves.

The rest of the account shows how God had then provided manna & quails for them to eat & what they had to do in respect to gathering the food sufficient for each day & an extra gathering on the day prior to the Sabbath (the day of rest). And the other thing that Moses had to do, was to collect some of the Manna & store it in a jar & it would remain as a constant reminder to Israel of God's provision to them. And this manna that was stored, never spoiled & remained near the Ark of the Testimony in the Tabernacle. All this was to show Israel, who had generally grown cold to God, how faithful God had been & will be to them because they were His chosen people & wanted them to find their delight only in Him.
