Hello Bob; This in depth studying of Biblical text is challenging. I am studying various aspects of context in this case. I am thinking that there was an event as described in verse four, and it was recorded. Why is it not recorded in earlier texts? Is a good question. Hopefully, the reason(s) are human involvement without satanic influence.

Bob, Yes sir, sure did. Deborah was used by the Lord when there were no stand up men left in Israel. An exception to God's Law order. But there are PLENTY of God fearing MEN left in the world today. But there are thousands of wicked women disobeying God preaching and teaching, when they ought not (if these women are saved at all).

Timothy learned as a child from his mother and grandmother AT HOME, just like I did, At HOME.

Mishael, you too have experienced great sadness & loss, but the presence of the Lord has been very real & overwhelming to you. I'm sure that your ministry & testimony is so much stronger & precious to those brought to receive it, as from the Lord. I was interested in reading about what took place just prior to your Father's departure. When I lost my Mum in '69 to cancer, my Dad was with her in hospital; I wasn't there. But he related to me that she was in great pain in those final moments & had laboured breathing. He felt in his spirit that her end was very near, so he asked the Lord to spare her more pain & to take her to Himself. She closed her eyes at that very moment & entered into Christ's Presence. Yes, we all grieve when we lose someone so precious, but as believers, we experience something that no one else does: at the moment when our time on Earth is done, all of Heaven is involved in the ushering away of the loved one & resultant healing to those left behind. Ps 116:15.

In these days who do we turn to? Mankind or our Father in Heaven. Who died and suffered for all our sins in this evil world?

Jesus is coming back soon, so His Father can have our Glory of Creation He gave us long ago. But Satan took us and put thoughts in our mind turning alot of us away from the Love we could of had. Is it no wonder thru my trials l now turn away from man. Alone l talk to my God. In my heart l here His replies. I write what l know to help others. I wish years past l had not stayed in this world of evilness. I learned the hard way to get to my Father now. Am so Protected by Him. Loved by His Strength. Helping the less fortunate and seeing through the evilness the enemy put in them- I try to help. But most of the times mankind does not know that the heart if completely open to the Word of God, could stand as a rock and not move when the storm's hit. For they could become a mighty warrior for the kingdom of God.....

As I understand it, the seals are still PRE-Tribulational, is that right? The corona/crown being the first seal seems extremely plausible.

Yesterday in Bible study I mentioned the rejection of Christ as he spoke in ancient Israel.Today I read this psalm and see,if in only some small part, the depth of hurt to him,in the midst of agonizing physical pain. And since this psalm predates his time here on Earth,he already knew,if only in word, what he would face, yet he gave himself for our souls.A love beyond degree.I thank God to be of the seed and tell forth what he has done.
  • David Orren - In Reply on Isaiah 11 - 6 years ago
Hi Patsy, I think some people see because they have eyes to read and a mind to think for themselves. To ask questions, and never to believe those who put themselves above us in having access to some truth based on our stopping to see and ask questions and not thinking for ourselves.

Thank you too Pam, for writing. I appreciate your kind words & I do heavily rely on the Lord to help me say/write what is needed. He is able to carry you through anything you may face. Remembering that the trying of your faith worketh patience (Js 1:2-5). The Lord bless, keep & sustain you each day.

Helena, Jesse has written correctly that these signs (vv 17,18), would be a necessary part for establishing the new Church & witness to the heathen around them. So even though the purpose of signs has generally ended, we cannot quench the work of the Spirit (the One Who gave Power & fulfilment to those signs). I say this guardedly, as I have evidence of mighty works of the Spirit when the situation required it. In the West, we don't see much evidence of demonic possession, maybe demonic oppression - there is a difference. In lands where there is idolatry & evil practices, we have seen demonic powers at work. In one instance, at a Bible Study in Pakistan, as I shared, a woman began to shake violently. It wasn't about anything I was speaking about, but, because the Holy Word of God was being read, that which possessed her was being agitated. A Pakistani brother then proceeded to cast out that foul spirit & she was released & was joyful again. How powerful is God's Word: our Sword.

God had made Adam and Eve with perfect consciousness and free will. God commanded them not to eat the fruit of the tree and when they eat, they shall surely die. But eating the fruit of the tree is purely Eve's and Adam's choice.

Even though Satan lied and deceived them, they have a choice to make and they knew the God how powerful and Holy he is. They didn't recall the commandment given by God but they went after their own will.

That's the reason God have punished Adam and Eve too.

Yes Lynn, it should be "feet" in the descriptions of the Seraphims. Maybe, it was a typo that was not properly proof-read before going to print. Also, (and I know you've not asked this), be wary of translations that are not faithful to the original manuscripts. I'm not aware of the translation you mentioned, but we do know that many translations have altered words or even omitted words to suit their whims & fancies. You would be on the right path with the King James Version (translated from faithful manuscripts), though if reading it becomes difficult, then the New King James or New American Standard Bible are preferable to the others. As well, if you don't understand something you read and if you are a believer in Christ, then His Spirit will help you to understand. Also, you can write here & someone will guide you.

Donovan, the meaning of 'generation' is important here. As we know, this word has been used throughout Scripture, but most today only understand it to apply to forty years. However, the Greek word 'genea' also allows for 'family, race, age'. Though the nation of Israel being (re) formed in May 1948 is significant to end time prophecy, the Lord's reference in Mt 24:34 to generation can only be applied to 'this age' = those alive prior to the closing of this age of unbridled sin. Jesus took his disciples to the Mt. of Olives & described the destruction of the Temple. His disciples asked (v3), when all this would happen. So Jesus describes what we refer to as the Great Tribulation, that would not only affect Israel severely, but would impact all people all over the world. Jesus doesn't give a date ( Mt 24:36) as this fact was known only to the Father. This could mean that Jesus, in his humanity, was not aware of it, or that the Godhead kept it hidden from us so we always remain ready.

Debra, there are references to Church of Christ ( Rom 16:16, Eph 3:21), but as a matter of fact, there are far more references to the 'Church of God' in the NT. I have seen in my travels: Grace Church, Church of Hope, Abba Church, Eternity Church, Heart of the City Church, plus many more; then there is Church of Jesus Christ (of the Latter Day Saints). Which is the true Church? Certainly not the 'latter'. Any church that claims to be the true Church of Christ or of God, will most likely have some cultish element within & we need to be aware. I've been to a Church of Christ & found them to be well founded on God's Word, so your meeting with a couple of them, appears to show a Church out of the mainstream C of C. Jesus Christ's Church is His Body; He is the Head (the Cornerstone) Eph 2:19-22, 1 Pet 2:4-10, etc. We are His Body ( Eph 4:15,16; Rom 12:4,5) & the Body's existence depends on the Living Christ & His Living Word. So please don't be troubled or deceived by their beliefs.

  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 14 - 6 years ago
That's a great Truth, Cathryn; the Holy Spirit can only be the One to make His Word meaningful & personal to our lives. Yet, God has blessed His Church with Spiritual Gifts ( 1 Cor 12) for her teaching & building up. He expects that those gifted with a prophetic Word or teaching it in Wisdom, will fulfil their calling joyfully & as such are answerable to the Lord ( Heb 13:17, speaks of those in leadership, which would involve teaching/counselling). So, Revelation really isn't a difficult Book, if we understand that much imagery is used (that which apostle John could hardly explain either) & timelines too, are cloudy. To me what would be more important in this instance, is that I know that the one who teaches from the Word, is indeed a man of God, gifted to teach & does so guardedly when the meaning or wording is unclear. There are many out there who will always seek to distort the Truth (Satan's ploy), & many believers fall into damnable heresies ( 2 Pet 2:1), but the Spirit will reveal.

Debra Miller - your concerns are well founded. Per those pastors of the C of C then I suppose all the people who died before they were created in the 1800's were never saved. You will also find the Seventh Day Adventists and the Jehovah's Witnesses had roots in the Millerite movement. Individuals inside these groups may be very faithful to Christ, but my experience with any large organization is not positive. Personally I believe small home churches are the future of the true church of the Lord.

Jesus said: Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Donovan - unless the United Nations, is the Lord, it was they who gathered and created the Israeli state in 1948. I think this is a counterfeit creation. Lucis trust publications (used to be Lucifer trust) is a printing arm of the UN.

Lucis trust about: History "The Lucis Trust was established by Alice and Foster Bailey as a vehicle to foster recognition of the universal spiritual principles"...."A publishing company, initially named Lucifer Publishing Company"

Support of the United Nations: "The Lucis Trust has Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) and World Goodwill is recognized by the Department of Public Information at the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO)"

Hi Debra, I have decades of experience with the Church of Christ and while I have found many loving and well meaning people, I generally disagree with the positions taken and how they conduct their church. Specifically I feel it is wrong to cast judgment on others Matthew 7:5 even within other Christians in the C of C denomination, and I feel 'works' is overemphasized as if some believe they can earn their way to heaven, and I felt that having relationship with God and Jesus was underemphasized, as well as the holy spirit underemphasized, and saying playing an instrument is a sin even though the Bible said David played a harp, etc. As if it's fine to play for secular music but not to worship God? For anyone who says 'unless you are baptized and attend regularly our specific church you will go to hell' I feel is unbiblical and God will judge them just like everyone else. Some call them a cult, and while some may be, I would not go that far for most. Not everyone who attends that denomination will necessarily believe all those things but many do in my experience. 1 Cor 10.

When God speaks of peace in this verse He is speaking of Himself in scripture. It is one reason why He has said for us to learn of Him....Example : Proverbs 3:5-7. Its our hearts God wants. The heart and mind is connected. Think about it.....when at a scene of an accident, what do we crab when sees the bad? Most people places their hand over the heart, because all issues is when our hearts. At PROVERBS 3:5-7 God is asking that we give all issues over to Him. He knew and knows now the more that we will not be able to carry life problems on our own. It's imperative that we truly trust God with our life and trials. I leave you with this, if one placed in my hands a 300lb rock and I weigh only 100lbs..... of course this is to much for me to hold or carry, I will either drop the rock or hurt myself from trying to carry something much larger than me. I HAVE LEARN life is just the same. Trust God and live.

Charles: obviously you have strong feelings about women generally. News media has poisoned our minds daily in some aspects. Flip side there are many women doing the best they can with very little. Not all.

I'm praying Malachi 4:5-6, on this generation of men.

'And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.'

    Isaiah 59:21, a covenant.

I have faith in God to perform this miracle.

God needs workers to send into the harvest.

This world system that makes us so angry at times is going to pass away. It cannot be fixed! We are on a rescue mandate. Like Noah, get them in the ark (who is Jesus).
