An age-old question, next only to: the eternal existence of God. It can never be satisfactorily answered except what we learn from Scripture & understanding of human biology. Some have talked of a pre-Adamic race or Cain & Abel had older siblings: but these are not scriptural. We often imagine these two brothers were young when Cain took Abel's life. Yet, they could have been much older (it has been suggested: over 100 yrs old). Adam lived for 930 yrs ( Gen 5:5) so the likelihood of many more children after Cain: with as many as 32,000 at the time of Abel's death. Then the question of incest arises, even if Cain married a sister, cousin, niece. Medically, this would be a grave problem as also against the law. However, Adam & Eve were created perfect with an untainted gene pool & only after the fall, would incest become a grave issue. So if Cain married before the tainted genes were passed on, then his marriage to a sister could be considered & this became unlawful in Lev chaps 18 & 20.

Adam and Eve had other children, so Cain's wife could have been one of his sisters. The bible doesn't tell us specifically who Cain's wife was. At that time, they were allowed to intermarry. That would be incest to us and considered sin. It was sin then also. But we have to understand that at that time, God had not yet given the law, so they did not know that it was a sin.

Romans 5:13 says "For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law." So sin was not imputed before the law was given because there was no knowledge of sin. Nobody knew what sin was, though sin was there.

Hattie, as in all Scripture, one needs to see the context in which a certain passage is written. In Gal 6:1,2, Paul references his earlier lengthy message on the Fruit of the Spirit in contrast to the works of the flesh (please read Galatians 5). So when he speaks in 6:1,2, he says to use that same spirit of Meekness (5:23), if you find a brother or sister overtaken by a fault (maybe some sin or error in judgement), then you who are mature in Christ & in His Word, help that poor soul to get back to a life of peace & victory - I apologize here that I am paraphrasing liberally so as to help you understand the verses). And, "considering thyself lest thou also be tempted" means: do this act of love for your brother/sister with great personal introspection & care (i.e. don't do it thinking that you are superior - that you won't fall into sin as he/she did. See 1 Cor 10:12 for a warning in this regard). And then, to fulfil Christ's law, we must help in carrying other's life's heavy loads.

We get our new or glorified body at Christ's second coming. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:8 that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Here is my understanding of how this all works.

When we die as believers, our soul, or spirit, departs our body and immediately goes into the presence of Christ. Our physical body remains in the grave until Christ comes back. And by the way, we come back with Him.

1 Thess. 4:13-18 gives us the details about the rapture of the church. When Christ returns at His second coming, and again we come back with Him, unless of course, we are still alive when He comes back.

But, we are told that the dead in Christ will rise from the grave first, and then the believers who are alive on the earth, they will be snatched up, or raptured. So when Christ calls the bodies out of the grave, the body comes up, and in the twinkling of an eye, the body is changed into a spiritual body for our spirit to inhabit forever.

Matthew 28 this will be in the millennium period

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

1 Corinthians 1:17 Paul came not to baptize

"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect."

    Paul's gospel

    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Peter preached the death of Christ as a murder indictment against Israel

    Acts 3

    14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead;....

Acts 3:19 (May be blotted out?) Different from Paul

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,

James, it is wonderful to read that Jesus Christ is your blessed possession & considering the life to come is on all our minds, for sure. Philippians 3:20,21 tells us that our conversation (our citizenship/our life from now to eternity), is already in Heaven. When Jesus comes for us (in the Rapture), our frail, sinful bodies will be cast off & changed to become like His Glorious Body (i.e. we will be as He is in Heaven: 1 Jn 3:2). And for those who have already died, their bodies will arise from the grave (1 Thes 4:15-17) & together (both the dead & alive believers) will have their bodies restored to spend eternity with the Lord (whether on Earth or in Heaven). So for those who have died & their Spirits have already gone to be with the Lord in that instant ( 2 Cor 5:6-8), they will return with the Lord at His Coming & receive their new bodies. We have a glorious certain future ahead of us as we wait anxiously to see the One Whom we love but He Who first loved us in giving of Himself.

A third of the sun's path is darkened- the sun is moving, we are still!!- a third of its path is a third of a day- otherwise we are looking at 4 months of darkness

Just like Joshua commanded the sun to stand still.

We live on a flat earth-we are God's foot stool ; up means up and down means down-

Like clay under the signet ring

The line accross- the breadth of the earth; the face of the earth

Pillars, foundations, the sea being locked up,antartica all around us

The firmament over us ,with waters above us, the firmament strong as molten looking glass

Gods throne over above us in the north- over north pole mount zion

The world has created a system that is trying to exclude God. False science(opposition of science)

The ball earth with the sun in the center (idolatry), evolution, God removed from schools, prayer removed-Is it any wonder children are not taking the bible seriously?

We try to conform the Word of God

To the false science our kids are taught in school-WAKE UP!

For God so loved the world (this means you) that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

But God demonstrates his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried and that he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures and that he was seen of Cephas then of the the twelve and after that about five hundred brethern at once. For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast. John 3:1-8 tells the story of Nicodemus where Jesus tells us we must be "born again".

I pray that you find the way, the truth and the life !!

  • Jesse - In Reply on Revelation 10:11 - 6 years ago
Rev. 10:8-11 is where John was given instruction concerning this little book. We see this same book in Ezekiel Chapters 2 and 3. This book is the title deed to the earth. But it is also the word of God. He's told to take it and eat it. The word of God is sweet to the taste. But the judgments are hard on the heart, and bitter to the belly.

It was always God's intention that God's people eat His word, that the word of God becomes our spiritual food, and that the word of God becomes part of us, and that we speak not just from out of the book, but out of our heart.

We're told to devour it first, not just memorize it or learn it with our mind, but to receive it spiritually, and devour it as the word of God. That's always the way it was intended to be.

So he said prophesy again, and he said you will do so in front of many people. To prophesy means to speak forth the written word of God that He has given to us, nothing added, nothing taken away. In other words, no new prophecy!
  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 14:39 - 6 years ago
If we take "Forbid not" as a command on its own, then you are quite correct that no one should forbid the speaking in tongues under ANY circumstances. Yet, all good biblical exposition requires that all Scripture, be understood in its proper context, with the background in mind & in line with other Scriptures. To use "Forbid not" as a command to speak in tongues without restraint (unless speaking/praying in private ( 1 Cor 14:4)), then we demonstrate a myopic & distorted view of the subject. The use of tongues is given to the Church as one of several gifts for its edification, but if there is no one to translate, then the gift is to be withheld, as the Spirit of God leads in the service. The instructions by Paul are ample in showing the correct use of this gift, more so because of its misuse & by those who wished to demonstrate a sense of superiority over others. And then, the opponents of the gifts quote 1 Cor 13:8-10: that all gifts are now redundant; but I don't share that view.

  • Wolfen244 - In Reply on Ezekiel 1 - 6 years ago
Paul, No. The "wheels as it were in the middle of a wheel" are chakras. That is precisely what chakra means - wheels as it were in the middle of a wheel. God is telling you to teach yourself to meditate using the seven chakras or spiritual centers or seven churches or seven seals - however you think about it. It's that simple. The spirits in the wheels are the mind cells of each of the seven seals. The four living beings only represent the 4 chakras in your torso as they are your animal or mindless chakras or earthly chakras as opposed to your heavenly chakras - on earth as it is in heaven.
  • Wolfen244 - In Reply on Ezekiel 1 - 6 years ago
Tricia, Take it by the numbers. ))) This vision was similar to Isaiah's visitation of 4 seraphs and Daniel's dream of 4 beasts and John the Revelator's Revelation when he was "in the spirit". They all had very similar "beasts with 6 wings". Ezekiel had the most attributes - 6 wings, 4 faces, rings so high they were dreadful, eyes all around and "wheels as it were in the middle of a wheel". 4 faces - calf, man, lion & eagle - are similar to earth, wind, fire and water as in the cryptogram in Ecclesiastes 1 and Genesis 1. Although yoga is a 4-letter word to Christians, those attributes point directly toward both yoga and another 4-letter word - meditation. Now it's up to you. Good luck Tricia

I find it interesting that God has given us such a glorious planet yet man spends trillions going to Mars.WHY? This is very funny. Mars is red. In Revelation satan and the beast are red. Satan is no dummy, he knows he's lost this planet, his former home. Is he dumb and desperate enough to try to make Mars his new home? Red loves red! I told you this would be funny! I need to be preaching our glorious somewhere. I'm a retired supply preacher in Tn. Also preach revivals. Love it! Please pray. God Bless. Great website!

You desperately need to follow the evidence not guess and by golly. John's "first love" and even Jesus' "first love" was NOT not loving Jesus. Here is a major clue. What was the one thing that Jesus valued more than anything that he actually lost for a few moments while saving us on the cross? That was his first love, John's first love and yours - if you are willing to follow the evidence laid out in the next verse. Good luck.

  • Wolfen244 on Revelation 2 - 6 years ago
All 4 of these letters to each of the 4 angels of the 4 churches that are used as symbols have both faults and virtues. In Ephesus as an example the virtue is "patience" while the fault is "left thy first love". The virtues give hope that each of us can reach higher still while the faults mean we still have a ways to go but we must do our best. To discover what our "first love" truly is you need merely decipher the next verse as it contains the conjunction "therefore". Go to the web and google search "first love" and you will obtain 2.5M hits all different without a distinction - you don't love God or Jesus or The Holy Ghost or Salvation or an assurance of heaven, blah, blah, blah. None of those articles uses logic, rhetoric or evidence. All ministers, priests, pastors, clergymen all say the same things using hillbilly logic.

However in verse 5 you have the answer as all of Revelation is written in symbols or figurative speech. Nothing is literal. Nothing.

The Bible's overall message is perfect. There have been some mistakes in copying and translating, but they are not big enough or important enough to discount the overall text! And NO, THERE IS NO CONTRADITION IN THE SCRIPTURES! If you think there is, I guarantee you are either taking something out of context or misinterpreting it. Go ahead, try to prove me wrong, you won't.

I think 'people thought' Jesus should give preference or deference to his mother and his disciples.

So Jesus asked the people, who is my mother and my brethern! For whosoever shall do the will of the Father, which is in heaven, the same is my brother and sister, and mother.

God's Family is expected to behave differently from how we treat our human family...not. We are to become more like Jesus every day. Esteem others....

Friend, Romans is a great book to read every day. It's not that big. You gotta go there to be user friendly to the unsaved. (My own thought).
