Verse 6 shows that we need Jehovah God’s blessing in our lives. We can only enjoy any material things we have because God allows us to exist and find pleasure in different things. Our gratitude and knowledge of this fact should move us to put spiritual interests first.

Judas was chosen, but not by Jesus to betray him, God created us and gave us free will, when he put Adam and Eve in the Garden, it wasn't for them to fail, but the enemy came in, and therefore the fall of Man, It was in Judas heart and that's why the enemy chose him, it was already there and Jesus knew that, He(Judas) had a choice and he made it, and therefore paid the price for it.

Jot (cont.) Also as far as taking the Lord Jesus' words literally; AMEN! If we don't literally obey His words, we will not be saved! By Jesus' words we are cleansed every whit from sin, and made a new creation. By the words of Jesus Christ, the heavens and the earth were created; and there is nothing that exists that hasn't come into being, and is sustained in its existence, but BY JESUS' WORDS!
  • A disciple on Matthew 6 - 8 years ago
Jot; Just in case there are actually multitudes of sincere Believers with good and honest hearts; who really do think deeply about WHAT they pray; don't you think it might be a "little" arrogant to presume that praying the "Our Father" is heathen repetition? Leading the Assembly in prayer of the very words of our Lord is a good thing! Maybe you need to start praying, instead of attacking prayer.
  • Greg on 1 Corinthians 15 - 8 years ago
It is good to know that God provided a way to heaven through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus would not lie and would not come to earth just to be labeled a good person, prophet, or miracle worker. He came to end spiritual death for all those that would rely on His blood sacrifice for their salvation. Good works is not the answer if so than his blood is powerless. Works are corruptible not His blood

I'm so thankful to God for the death and resurrection of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. How wonderful to be under Grace than the burden of the Law!

God promises are real and amen God promises to send his angels and protect us and nothing by means shall hurt us.to trust in God
  • James on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Wonderful that it is Christ who saves through his death and resurrection. Although it is correct to be humble and sincere when coming to God through Christ the emphasis should solely be on his death and resurrection. Romans 9:16 “ So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” God bless you all and Praise to Almighty God for his grace and mercy.
  • Edward Palamar on Daniel 11 - 8 years ago
The error of ascribing moving the word "vile" from verse 20 to verse 21 began with the printing of the Coverdale Bible in 1535 A.D.
  • Edward Palamar on Daniel 11 - 8 years ago
Originally the word "vile", found in verse 21 both here and in most Bibles, was in verse 20 it was a modifier to the middle of the three kings of the north, verses 19-21. Only the Wycliffe and the Douay-Rheims versions retain this accurate description. I witnessed the rape incest of the king of verse 20 upon the wife of the king of verse 19 while in her womb, being the king of verse 21.
  • Jot on Matthew 6 - 8 years ago
Verse 7: "when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do" - Then in verses 10 to 13 he gives an EXAMPLE of a righteous prayer..
Certain denominations then REPEAT the EXAMPLE word for word for CENTURIES taking Jesus' words literally! Such a contradiction. And since when was the savior EVER literal?! His entire gospel was told in metaphors.
Our prayers should be unique and from the heart.
