Jimmy if you read farther down in 1 John 5:7 it says For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

I believe this passage is speaking of the Elijah as the fiery preacher John the Baptist. How many of us Christians would call people vipers? However, we need to remember that John the Baptist had the Holy Spirit in him while he was in the womb! Wow!!

For the new year this chapter gives us wonderful lessons in trusting the Lord and not being fearful. We need to keep our eyes focusd on Jesus.

Dear Joe; It is sure a test when we have to wait! Jacob wrestled with the Lord, and wouldn't let Him go until He blessed him; even while his thigh was out of joint! Daniel's three friends would not bow down to a heathen idol, even when it meant being thrown alive into a furnace. All the Prophets and Saints of old time died in faith NOT having received the Promise without us! Job waited! Be strong!

"..except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (cont.) Did none of those whose lives were violently cut short have a saving knowledge of the Lord? This is precisely what the Lord Jesus is saying, and the point for everyone us, that while we are here and living, is space granted for us to repent and turn to God. Having another religion or just being good people can't erase the need to repent!

In the examples given, it was a brutal atrocity of terrorism perpetrated by the Governor Pilate himself upon some Jewish worshipers; and an innocent group of bystanders who were killed when a building collapsed. All apparently unsaved!

Its so hard sometimes to have strong faith when everything is going wrong,,,,we pray but get no answer, we wait and no answer,,we cry out and no answer,,,and we listen to preachers say that sometimes Gods answer is No,,,
So what do we do when his answer is justified either way?
I have no answer for you,,,,,,,,,,,If it is His will, you will recieve,,,,,if not you wont,,,but my heart yearns still.

Greetings, centuries before the birth of Moses, the were generations of people who hated God, and today they still hate God. Speaking specially of the God of the Hebrews. (Read Psalms 83) After numerous generations, God (Yahweh) decided to separate a certain seed of people, (see Matthew chapter 1) from all other people upon the face of the earth to carry His Spirit into the future.

"Wisdom is in the action and the doing of what we know is right, according to the convictions and strivings of the Spirit with our conscience." And I should add; next to our moral convictions we also have to train our minds to be bright and attentive to the things we learn, and as Peter wrote in his Second Epistle that we should always have these things ready in remembrance to be able to do them.

Hi Bill; I love what you wrote; "There are no partially saved people!" Yet it is equally true that as long as we are in the world awaiting our Master's return; that we are responsible for the things He's left us in charge of, and that our diligence and wise dealing with His things, will be what He looks for, in our faithfulness as His House Managers. So in that sense our salvation is not yet done.

Debra; There have been attempts to Judaize, and to bring the Disciples into bondage to some outward form of religious tradition or other from the earliest days. But that is not the kingdom of God! Paul wrote"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."

I have been struggling with controlling my tongue so much lately...my living situation is such that for now I am forced to live in close proximity to a couple of unbelievers and I repent and do it again...and its true...it causes so much strife and damage for such a small member...lights huge fires like these verses describe...but praise the Lord I am truly grateful for His chastisement...we learn

Verse 12: we should not hold back from giving praise to Jehovah God.

Verse one brings out that it is a good and pleasant thing to sing praises to Jehovah God.

God knows what He is doing. He created us. We reap what we sow.

Debra God wants every day HOLY not just the Sabbath. and he wants this holiness to come from Christ in us via the new birth, THE new covenant ETC.And that Christ in us cannot sin thus we keep the commandments.
