Nothing is difficult for God to do
  • Lucinda Palestrant on 1 Samuel 20 - 10 years ago
David, Genesis 14:14 says Abram armed his trained servants. Another verse that Abram said his eldest servant ruled over everything he owned. I consent to these verses that the word servant can sometimes be a protector or soldier. But, verse 1 Samuel 20:35, etc. does not say "a little lad went with him" was his protector.

This book speaks of the purpose of our King. Jesus came out preaching to repent! Change your way of thinking for the Kingdom of God is here. Not somewhere else in some other place but right here right now. What do you want to go to heaven for? Well Jesus said heaven has come to you....Now believe and Flow!!
  • Lucinda Palestrant on 1 Samuel 20 - 10 years ago
David, Mirriam Webster Dict. does not define "servant" as protector. Jonathan had the bow and arrows why would he need a lad to protect him. You add to God's word. It looks like the lad was there to retrieve and take the arrows to the city.

OOPS. Gina; about Sarah. I meant to say she was Abraham's father's, daughter.
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Genesis 5 - 10 years ago
Gina, Genesis 20:12 tells us that Sarah was Abraham's half sister. She was Abraham's daughter but not the daughter of Abraham's mother.
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Genesis 5 - 10 years ago
Gina, Genesis 4:16-17; It does not say that Cain found his wife after he was exiled. He took his wife with him. His wife was also his sister. There was no other people that existed at the time besides Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel and Adams many other children.
  • David on 1 Samuel 20 - 10 years ago
Lu2677, the arrows were indeed Jonathan's idea, with David's agreement. Re: my labeling the lad as Jonathan's servant (therefore "protector") comes from v.38 "And Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows, and came to his master". I appreciate your clarification, and keeping any comments to be Biblically-based.
  • Lu2677 on 1 Samuel 20 - 10 years ago
David, in 1 Samuel Chapter 20; it does not say that David suggested or shot an arrow. It appears it was Jonathan's idea. It does not say that the lad was appointed to protect Jonathan. He did send him away to the city with the arrows. Some one else said,"the arrows were shot for the drama." I don't see evidence of that. can you give us scripture that proves your ideas? Thanks

Nana Nezi; You asked, " 5-15 is not necessary now that the kingdom of God has come?"
Matthew 10:5, Jesus commands his apostles not to preach to the Gentiles or the Samaritans. Matthew 10:6 "But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 1:15, 3:2, 10:7, 4:17. It should be apparent that 5-15 is necessary. Jesus is speaking.

I believe it says do God's will.
  • Lu2677 on Job 16 - 10 years ago
In Job 15 we learn his friends told him his afflictions were his punishment for his sins: Job knows this is not true in v.17. Job 16:2"I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all." In v. 11 he called them "wicked". It looks like his friends lived close to him. I hope this helps.

Yahuda song of Moses starting end chapter 31 a fact that this is the song that the election will be singing at the 7th trump as you see in Revelation 15 when the true Christ returned an the elect are singing the victory over antichrist who had came as instead of Christ and deceived the whole world then the servants are the election an overcomers who listen to the truth an had eyes to see an WAITED

Imagine to have been one of those shepherds who got to witness a multitude of angels and then be able to go and see the newborn Jesus! I would like to have been one of those shepherds above anyone else in history!
Notice the shepherds were there at the manger but the wise men from the East were not. They followed the star and met Jesus as a young child.

@cassandramorgan Jesus says that one who looks at another with lust in their heart has already committed adultery ( Matthew 5:28).

@jessicahoover your husband is sanctified through you: according to Strongs accordance, that word there means set apart, holy in sight of God

It is amazing that God through wisdom gave the beginning creation in a manner to cover every things beginning and yet there"s room tto go and search for the how to apply your ability to multiply and live. This was the common factor for all things created on the earth (all living plant, animal and man).

Bible fan, you say, "pain and suffering can't be good." Please read Psalm 119:71 "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I might learn thy statutes." Psalm 119:75 "I know O Lord that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me."
  • Lu2677 on 2 Samuel 12 - 10 years ago
I don't see where is says anything like what Gray Hachey claims (discussion for 2 Samuel 12) in 2 Samuel 12:23 or Matthew 1:1.
  • Nana Nezi on Matthew 10 - 10 years ago
According to the KJV, verse 5 says that the kingdom of heaven is at hand (near) please explain your interpretation of the following: 5-15 "This is not necessary now that the kingdom God is come."?

    Thank you for your time.
  • George on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Why in GENESIS 1 we address GOD as GOD. In GENESIS we address GOD as the LORD in some cases and Lord in others. JESUS is also addressed as LORD/Lord. I was trying to find a Bible that address GOD as GOD " GENESIS 1" and JESUS as JESUS or just JESUS our Lord.
  • Forgiven on 2 Samuel 12 - 10 years ago
I have been tempted by fleshly desire, I find strength in this passage. I don't want God to be displeased with me or the object of my desire. It's up to me to keep both of us in good graces with God
  • David on 1 Samuel 20 - 10 years ago
Jane, Dewey, regarding why Jonathan and David used three arrows when both were already in close proximity to each other. Consider the servant lad is appointed by the King to protect Jonathan, therefore for Jonathan to inform David, he could not just tell the servant to leave him, that would have raised suspicion. Instead, the arrows were a ruse to dispatch the servant with no questions raised.

My question is who were the people living around Job when the 16th chapter of Job and the 12th verse was written ?
  • Nan on Psalms 36 - 10 years ago
As I read Ps 36 today my heart was encouraged with faith and hope. Ps 36:7 is one of my favorite Bible
Verses. I'm ever reminded of His Lovingkindness whenever a flock of birds fly (shadow of His wings) over me
As I'm walking or driving. YHWH is the God to be praised, the Creator of heaven and earth!
In Him I put my Trust because of the blood of the Lamb. Ps 63:7, 57:1, 91:1,4; Rev 5:12.
