It is very comforting to know that Jesus cares for us so much that he even prepared his disciples for his death and in a way also comforting us by telling us His followers that he will send us another Comforter who shall be with us forever. It is encouraging to know that Jesus has loved us with such great love that he will never leave us nor forsake us. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter not Muhammad as one person commented earlier. John 14:26 is very clear on this. It specifically states so. To argue otherwise would be to contradict the Bible itself. God cannot contradict his own word.

  • Lucinda Palestrant on Psalms 37 - 10 years ago
Elyne, The things that should come to your mind when "wait on the Lord" comes up should be the things written in Psalms 37, not your imaginings of serving him a meal in a cafe. He wants you to learn his commandments and do them. V.34 "Wait on the Lord, and keep his way;" I hope this helps.
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Isaiah 48 - 10 years ago
Romans 10:18 "But I say; Have they not heard? Yes, verily their sound went Into all the earth and their words unto the ends of the world." The "sound" "their words" is telling the gospel of Christ. Some false teachers say everyone has not heard the gospel. God says everyone has heard it.

I enjoy reading all the commentary. Views and opinions are extremely important, however at the end of the day his word is settled we cannot add to it, or takeaway from it.
  • Clayton on Genesis 5 - 10 years ago
If you look at chapte 3 verse 16 when God was giving punishment for eating the apple. He told Eve He would greatly multiply her giving birth..in order to multiply one must have already experienced it. Adam and Eve where not alone in the Garden of Eden. what was birthed in the Garden of Eden was pure and Holy. look at Adams Geneology. Seth is first The first born out of the Garden. Not Cain Or Able

  • Pam on John 14 - 10 years ago
That's food for thought, however, there has to be more to the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega....GOD, Our Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord. The water, the WORD, and the Spirit. Amen

  • Lucinda Palestrant on Isaiah 48 - 10 years ago
Read Isaiah 48:1-19very carefully;can you see that God is telling us;every person"from the beginning" has had the knowledge of the gospel given to him. This knowledge does not have to come from a preacher, or even a book.(a believer is commanded to spread the good news, and read, i do not speak against this.)He has testified of everything he has spoken, since the beginning. We rebelled, did not hear
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Genesis 3 - 10 years ago
Carol, There is no reference that I know of in scripture that says the actual tree of life still stands.
It is no longer needed; Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. John 14:6. When you wonder about such things you are turning to the right and turning to the left. God warns us not to do this.
  • Lucinda Palestrant on John 14 - 10 years ago
John 14:30"Hereafter I will not talk much with you;for the prince of this world cometh, and have nothing in me."(prince of this world=prince of darkness,Satan) (and have nothing in me=he cannot accuse me of any crime/sin) V.31 ";and as the Father gave me commandment"=(God's commandment to his Son was to let them arrest him and go willingly to the cross.) Many scripture tells us Jesus was obedient

  • Norm on John 14 - 10 years ago
Reading scripture does not assure understanding as the enemy is here as well. Ask the Father to hear His voice that you might see His Word and understand. These are gifts given by His Spirit not by ears or eyes of the flesh. 17 Even the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
  • Anne on Esther 7 - 10 years ago

Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, let him that readeth understand, then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
