I love and have memorized this verse!

A poem or hymn, rather, based on Jude 25 is

    To God, the only wise,

    In every age adored,

Let glory from the Church arise,

    Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    LORD, AT THIS CLOSING HOUR

Thank you Rev. Les for your thoughts on that matter. I must confess that I haven't given much consideration about "dreams" that come to us during sleep. I've always kept them separate from voluntary dreams (imaginations) to those that come to us involuntarily during sleep. But I can see what you're saying: that if our minds are so engaged (in this instance), in vile things while awake, then there could well be a reflection of this during those involuntary occasions. So, thank you for those added thoughts. Blessings.

    I am not sure I agree completely with Chris, and that's okay but here is what I see;

    This word:

    en-oop-nee-ad'-zom-ahee

Middle voice from G1798; to dream: - dream (-er).

    Is the middle voice of:

    en-oop'-nee-on

From G1722 and G5258; something seen in sleep, that is, a dream (vision in a dream): - dream.

So, it can actually be like daydreaming of evil things or actually sleeping and having evil dreams. Jude 8, using the word "Likewise" is referring to verse 7 about the filthy people in Sodom and Gomorrah. It compares these people not only to the Angels who left their first estate, the Jews that were destroyed due to unbelief, but to the sexual sins of Sodom and the surrounding cities.

If we are prone to Unbelief, Self Exaltation, or Dreams of Sexual Sins we must lay it before God and ask him to show us what is the root cause of these things. Confession and the power of the Grace of God can give us victory over these things. The Lord bless you both.

    Hi Paul,

Have you read Romans 8:9 ? This answers that question with 100% certainty. Man's opinion doesn't matter on this, only what God says and God said it clearly through his Word in Romans 8:9.

In a Biblical discussion class I shared that everyone DOES NOT have God's spirit dwelling in them as on of the brothers had earlier mentioned. Now I'm beginning to doubt and wonder because thouhg not having the Spirit of Christ or the Holy Spirit could it be that all have the essence of God's Spirit in them giving that speak of light. So do all have God lvin in the or not?

    God bless you brother Mishael

Thank you for taking the time and effort to respond in detail to what I wrote. Please do not for a moment consider that I think I know more than another brother. That is certainly not what I was in any way implying.

Please provide evidence that Cain is recorded as Adam's firstborn. I have never seen this in the Bible. The genealogy of Adam goes through Seth very clearly. (This is of course because Abel was killed, and because Cain was not Adam's son) Also in Jude 1:14 (And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these...) the Bible would be wrong if Cain was Adam's son because then Enoch would have been the eighth, not seventh.

Please provide evidence that I am fixated on nakedness, wantoness, adultery and covering sex organs. I was simply responding to another brother's question. Nor do I remember having mentioned sex before in any of the 30-odd comments I have been able to make on this Godly discussion board.

You write "The entire Bible is about Jesus: Genesis to the last verse in Revelation". God bless you for knowing that. It is certainly true. Amen. Notice what our Lord said to the Pharisees in John chapter 8: Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. /// Jesus is telling the Pharisees that they are like the children of the serpent seed (Cain's line). The Pharisees reply that they are not born of fornication (No, they are not like the children of the serpent who fornicated with Eve). This is just one example of the many Many MANY references to the serpent seed found throughtout the Bible.

Dear brother, if you would like to grow even more in your loving understanding of our Lord's purpose for us, please do consider reading up about the serpent seed doctrine.

Peace and love in Jesus Christ

    Hello David,

Seeing your post just made me wonder. You know satan was not ever in Heaven? So what do you take of say 2 Peter 2:4 or Jude 1:6? Which are pretty straight forward. About angels sinning. I'll just state this. God our Eternal Father is so much higher than us. As His ways, and thoughts, also are so high above us.

So as I believe things between angels and "us" are two different categories. One thing I believe our Father gives all is "free will". I myself would never condemn anyone(person) who was say "touched" by the Lord. Say they repented well and dropped many sinful things of this world. Then say they made a mistake and did something "sinful". Would you say that person is no longer saved? Even if they knew they made a mistake, confessed to the Lord, and tried to learn from it and keep on repenting and living for the Lord?

We are still here in earth. I know there are some people who say they are "perfect" and "sin free" after being saved by the Lord. I myself could never say that. Keeping a humble state of mind. I only see my Lord Jesus Christ, and my Holy Father, as perfect. I try my best to follow in the footsteps of the Lord and live for the Will of our Father. As I don't condemn people this does not mean I say it's ok, or right, to "sin". I guess I just have more "mercy" and "forgiveness" in me than "judgement" or "condemnation".

I know we're all different and have our own views. This is not to start an argument. I just felt to post from the heart.

    God Bless you.

by the way i love how in the catholic churchs when i hear them this way every Sunday , there is a catholic church in my city : that chanting & singing makes me too emotional & feeling that i belong to be next to them .

i'm addicted in reading the bible after seeing the lord jesus as he showed me the salvation from the vision , i woke up smiling & tried to resume sleeping even i'm late for university, i didn't care that day , i had the thirst to see him again and i feel all ready to be a pastor for his glory .

gonna keep studying the bible Philippians 1:11 , i still did not finish GENESIS because i'm analysing everything to finish building my soul in a christian thirst manner Isaiah 6:3 , so i will not ever lose the passion at all in jesus's spirite

    Jude 1:20 .

he is all the way to salvation Ephesians 3:21 and Genesis 49:18

jesus came to me , he may knew my soul that fought against extrimism as a teenager & i been abused for the fights i had & now i'm a grown up man 23yo & i'm sure he been watching me when i was a child and a teenager & came that day 9/11/2020 to glorify me in the vision . John 3:16 & John 14:6

Hello. If you truly care about him. Along with him saying he would listen to you about God. What I would say or start with is: "Why does he worship satan and where did he learn about him from"? As this could have come to him in many ways like music, family, trend, etc. Then just try to tell him the truth that satan does not care about him or anyone but himself. The devil knows he is already damned and just wants to destroy as many lives as he can. Here are a couple Bible verses I looked up showing that satan is the enemy and is already damned.

Matthew 4:1-10 , Jesus being tempted by him in the desert.

John 16:11 , the devil(prince of this world) has already been judged

Revelation 12:7-9 , satan being cast down to earth

Revelation 20:1-15 , satan cast into the lake of fire

Jude 1:6-9 , fallen angels and Michael Archangel contending with devil

John 8:44 , devil is the father of lies

Galatians 5:19-21 , lusts of the flesh(what the devil wants people to do)

Along with the others who responded to you. All else I can really say is be careful. Pray to our Father and Jesus Christ to lead you. Maybe try to read through the Bible with him. Show him that Jesus Christ is the only way. He may turn from satan or you may have to leave him. You will be in my prayers. God Bless.

  • Chris - In Reply on Jude 1:8 - 5 years ago
Jude, in this passage was writing in condemnation of those who perverted the Truths of God & that we Christians should recognize them & to "earnestly contend for our faith". He speaks of the history of the Israelites who were saved from Egypt but many of them sinned later in various ways ( Jude 1:5); of the angels who left their first estate (Heaven), who sinned & are now held in chains awaiting judgement (v 6); of Sodom & Gomorrah who were given to licentious behaviour & homosexuality, now awaiting their doom in hell fire (v 7).

So, in like manner (v 8), these "filthy dreamers" (those men of verse 4, "who crept (into their fellowship) unawares"), also preach similar errors, who despise authority & governments & speak evil of things they are ignorant of (v 10). So, "dreamers" are people that have imagined themselves to be persons of great knowledge or reputation & so having a 'godly' authority to bring 'God's message', which of course was not so & contrary to Scriptural Truths. Today, we might tell someone to "dream on", if they come to us with some outlandish statement or belief that something wonderful is going to happen to them. These dreamers (& "filthy" is not in the original text but an adjective to describe their similarity to the other wicked people mentioned), were bringing messages coming from their carnal minds & hearts of pride, rather than Scriptural based.
  • Wendy r on Jude 1:8 - 5 years ago
I am not sure what is meant by 'dreamers.' Is it those who are 'asleep?' Or is it those who are interpreting false dreams and saying they are prophecies? I just don't understand this. If someone could explain this verse, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

  • How To Get The Devils Out Of Your Life - In Reply on Jude 1:9 - 5 years ago
If the attack is against me, I say "In Jesus name, it is written; The Lord rebuke thee. Get thee hence!"

It's good to use the Search Box and type in 'Authority' and hit the arrow. Every scripture on authority is listed. By reading all of them, it gives a clearer picture of what our Authority in Christ is. You can read all, Old Testament only, or New Testament only.

Jesus gave us his NAME. We study how he used his Name to rebuke Satan and his demon operatives.

Having good knowledge of scripture allows us to use it against the devils that know scripture too! If we speak the scripture with Jesus Name, those devils have to cease their attack.

That where binding comes in handy. (The Lords Prayer). Whatever is bound on earth is bound in heaven.

Bind the demons and send them into outer darkness and dry places.

In Jesus name, Loose: angelic help, healing, deliverance, Emotional help.

Only tithing is how we ask for help in finances. We establish trust in Gods plan to help us be blessed financially. When the plan works, we can ask for what we need and receive it. The plan is not meant to be legalized by well meaning preachers. God made a simple principal to follow:

    Minimum= adequate blessings

    Maximum= over and above blessings

The plan operates on trust and obedience; with thanksgiving to God for His Word.

In Matthews 26, we see reasons why we should share what we have, with others who lack everything. Then we honor Jesus's known plea for those who are in need.

    Hello Diane,

Just to give a little, personal, answer to your question. Whenever I hear temptations, or statements not from our Father, I use that exact phase. Or "God Almighty rebukes thee satan" along with others using the name of Jesus Christ to cast the devil away from me.

Most of the time I myself don't even speak these things out of my mouth. It's mostly in my head or spiritual. You may have to repeat it several times. And do it with authority. God purchased you, you are His now. The Lord enjoys us keeping guard. Any bad thing cast it out.

Hope this helps some. God Bless you sister.
  • Diane Smith on Jude 1:9 - 5 years ago
Yes, Jude 1;9 "The Lord Rebuke thee"... as believers we have been given authority; Galatians 1;20-22 we are seated with Christ in heavenly places at the right hand of the Father...to rule and reign with Him, He is the head we are the body Gal 2; 5&6 Also Luke 10;19"Behold, I have given you all authority to tread on serpents and scorpions. I have given you authority over all the powers of the enemy, nothing shall by any means harm you. Also Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because Greater is He THAT IS WITHIN YOU, than he that is in the world. I John 4;4 ...So my question is When is it correct to say "The Lord rebuke thee"? Certainly Michael the archangel is more powerful (authority trumps power) than we are?? SO do we need to say the Lord rebuke thee.

    Hi Linda,

Gen 6:2, 4, Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7, Psalms 29:1, 89:6, Dan 3:25) refer to the expression "sons of God." I believe that this is the Hebrew idiom referring to angels. It is a figure of speech.

I believe that the sons of God left heaven, came down to earth ( Jude 1:6), and took to wife all of whom they chose from the daughters of Adam. The children of these marriages were the giants. The giants were there on earth before the flood, and "also after that" ( Genesis 6:4), meaning that they did indeed survive the flood, and the giants are mentioned throughout the Bible.

Noah is the representative at this time period for the seed line that will bring forth the Messiah.

Chris, may the Spirit grace you with the intent of my words, none to be taken as condemnation but edifying. The beast in revelation has so been misunderstood by the teaching of the carnal mind and the doctrines of man. May the Holy Spirit grace us with his words. Job 18:3 Wherefore are we (all mankind) counted as beasts (carnal minded), and reputed vile in your eyes. Psalms 49:20 (carnal) Man that is in honour (pride),and understandeth not (the Spirit), is like a beast that perish (goes to the grave). Psalms 73:22 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee (Spirit of God). Proverbs 9:1-2 Wisdom (by the Spirit of God) hath builded her house (us), she hath hewn her seven pillars: (vs) 2 She (wisdom) hath killed her beast (carnal mind).... Ecclesiastes 3:18 I said in my heart (mind) concerning the estate of men, that (the Spirit of) God might manifest (grace) them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. II Peter 2:12 But these (carnal mind) as natural brute beast, made to be taken an destroyed, speak evil of the things they understand not.... Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beast...The only mammal (beast) that buys and sells is a man. Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom (hath killed her beast). Let him (wisdom) that hath understanding (of the Spirit) count the number of the beast: for it (the beast) is the number of a man (all mankind)....The angel told John not to seal the book. Revelation was just as relevant in Johns (To-day is the day) as it is (To-day is the day). The day (one day) of the Lord that was prophesied by the prophets has been going on now for 2000 years. The beast (all mankind) is judged in Christ ( Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire) and the beast was thrown alive into the lake of fire (Christ), All mankind will eventually be judged in Christ. Gods grace be upon us.

Jude verse 3 plainly states that the FAITH was once delivered unto the NT saints , this is the Doctrine of Christ and of the Apostles.

    Nothing more is needed .

    2 Timothy 3 . 16 Confirms this .

My question is where is the Trinity doctrine found in the bible ?

This is the actual teaching and importance to follow the teaching .

Who said it in the Bible .

Yes we know that Jesus is one with the father . As he said he came from God , the Son of God come in the flesh . and never sinned as a man . He was the first of His kind , . That's not my question.

    Thanks I will wait .

Like not going places that cause sin before, not saying hurtful or offensive words etc.

14He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.

5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

the only people that made a covenant with the Lord is Israel

For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

    4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

In verse 2 at the end of the verse it says " the faith was once delivered unto the saints ".

When did this take place ?

Jesus taught the 12 apostles and before and after his crucifixion .

Judas was replaced before Pentecost . The qualifications for the replacement was that He and not she had to witness Jesus from the time of Jesus Baptism by John the Baptist to Seeing Jesus alive from the dead .

These men received the One and only completed faith . The Holy Spirit help in the understanding as Jesus left to be at the Fathers right hand . The Holy Spirit continues to this day to help us understand the written complete faith found in the New Testament . There are no revisions or add ons to the Apostles doctrine found in the books of the Bible .

The doctrine should be very precise not a matter of vague interpretation , of which leads us to many denominations etc and room for heresy to breed .

2 Timothy 3 v 16 , 17 It's all provable in the Bible . Since the apostles passed on evil men have made the faith many things . But the one faith remains in the scriptures , and with the Holy Spirits teaching you can find it and be assured of it ! God bless you as you seek the truth that sets us free from deception .

    Wesley's Notes for 2 Peter 2:4

2:4 Cast them down to hell - The bottomless pit, a place of unknown misery. Delivered them - Like condemned criminals to safe custody, as if bound with the strongest chains in a dungeon of darkness, to be reserved unto the judgment of the great day. Though still those chains do not hinder their often walking up and down seeking whom they may devour.

    People's Bible Notes for 2 Peter 2:4

2Pe 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned. In order to show that judgments on these wicked teachers are sure, Peter cites examples. Even angels when they sinned were subjected to punishment. But cast [them] down to hell. The sinning angels were cast out of heaven. The word rendered "hell" is not Gehenna, but Tartarus, a Greek term used for the place of future punishment. Delivered [them] into chains of darkness. "Pits of darkness" (Revised Version); possibly dungeons of darkness gives the idea. Compare Jude 1:6 Both passages point to a time when angels sinned, fell, and thus became angels of darkness.
