That's another tough highly debated topic!
Thank God we are overcomers ( by the blood of Christ ). There is nothing we can take away from it and there's nothing we can add to it.
Often we just look at what we think to be the worst sins and single them out like murder ect.. So we don't carry those acts out, does that make us Perfect, Does that lift the old sin nature, Does that take care of sin where it generates before we carry out the act, which is in the HEART!
If it was up to us we all would loose our salvation. THANK GOD ITS NOT!
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, JUDE 1:24.
Let's take a look at Sardis and their condition.
Revelation 3:1.... I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Some of those in Sardis is in a condition where they have a "name " they are live but they're dead. " Not all"
Man's righteousness is as filthy rags, the spotted garments can also mean your self righteousness, that fits Sardis.
Man is unable to clean himself or stay clean apart from the Holyspirit.
Revelation 3:4-5. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Jesus died for the Whole world, Some suggest that everyone is written in "this" book and their name will remain because they overcame by the blood of the Lamb.
Some only had a name that they liveth but are dead.
Psalms 69:28 (KJV) Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
It appears you're receiving mostly responses that de-emphasize obedience. I do not believe once saved always saved, because of Matthew 12:22-32 and so many other verses. I think if that was true Jesus would not have continually warned his followers (Christians) over and over through parables and stories about obedience and keeping His commandments and avoiding sin. It takes effort. It literally addresses this already in the Bible- saying that people used it as a license to sin and "abuse" grace: Jude 1:4, Hebrews 10:26, James 2:14-26, John 14:15, James 2:19. I fully believe all the verses others shared with you above, but unfortunately it appears most are sharing an imbalanced perspective. The Word speaks for itself and does not say once saved, always saved. Christians can and do turn from the faith, unfortunately, and sometimes a % go in the complete opposite direction and do horrific things, just like any other person can who does evil and follows the world or satan. I'm responding, because I think it's important that you not listen to men, but to the Word and pray and ask God for wisdom that you will know the truth. There are many false prophets and fake news being spread and we know who is behind that. God bless...
Context Summary
Jude 1:5-16 describes the nature, errors, and fate of false teachers plaguing the Christian church. Jude's readers seem to have been acquainted with Israel's history. This passage references Old Testament events to help explain the apostates' sins, the danger they pose, and how the Lord will punish them. Jude references the unbelief of Israel after the Lord delivered them from slavery in Egypt, rebellious angels, the ungodly people of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the dangers of allowing such people to mingle with other believers.
Chapter Context
Jude's brief letter describes men at their worst and God at His best. Believers are already on the victorious side! Those who mock God's truth and who follow their own desires all while claiming to be Christians, are the most dangerous kind of unbelievers. These persons pose a danger to themselves and to any Christians they might influence. In response, Christians need to focus on understanding the truth of God's written Word and submitting to His will.
None of this fits in with Michael the Archangel.

Easter was originally the celebration of Ishtar, the Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility and sex. After Constantine decided to Christianize the Empire, Easter was changed to represent Jesus. But at its roots, Easter (which is how you pronounce Ishtar) is all about celebrating fertility and sex.
Ishtar(ProperNoun) A goddess of fertility, love, sex and war. In the Babylonian pantheon, she was the divine personification of the planet Venus. Assyrian and Babylonian counterpart to the Sumerian Inanna and to the cognate northwest Semitic goddess Astarte.
Pagan goddess of Easter
"Eostre"
But in English-speaking countries, and in Germany, Easter takes its name from a pagan goddess from Anglo-Saxon England who was described in a book by the eighth-century English monk Bede. "Eostre was a goddess of spring or renewal and that's why her feast is attached to the vernal equinox."
Passover is the Christian Holiday we Worship. Has nothing to do with the pagan Holiday of Easter.
The word "Easter" (or its equivalents) appear in the Bible only once in Acts 12:4. This passage refers to Herod killing John, the brother of James. Peter was to be next, so Peter was put in prison until after the pagan holiday of Easter (for Jews & Christians, the Passover). That's the night the Angel of the Lord broke Peter out of prison! Hallelujah!
Mishael
Pardon my redundancy but since this is a dalvation issue allow me to confirm; you have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (and not the titles Father Son and Holy Ghost) for the remission of sins?
Verily what you said that The Father (God), The Word (God) and the Holy Ghost (God) are one. However, if you happen to believe that the word; Word actually means Christ, or Son of God, then unfortunately you have been deceived by rome's sorcerers/ theologians. JOHN 1:1 KJV 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Amen.
The word, Word means written or spoken unit of communication. Just like these words I am writing to you here. They are my word (aside from my Father's word -1 Perer 4:11 :) and they are with me.
In summary, getting back to the original question at hand: yes, the Holy Scriptures clearly show that every time someone received the Gift of the Holy Ghost in the book of Acts, the initial manifestation and evidence of it is that they would speak in an unknown tongue (be it of men or angels) and prophesy and magnify God, Hallelujah! This is not to misconstrue the initial evidence of having received the Gift with the individual 'gift of diverse tongues' or being able to speak in known languages of men without ever having learned them (Paul speaks of this in 1 Corinthians 12).
So yes, in summary, all who receive the gift of the Holy Ghost will speak in an unknown tongue as the Spirit gives them utterance. However not all have the gift of diverse tongues. Covet the best gifts.
I hope this helps you so that you can press in in prayer and praise and receive the Gift, as Jesus said in Luke 11:13 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Amen.
We don't want to boast of a false gift as that would make us like what is spoken of in Proverbs 25:14, & Jude 1:12 if we continue.
Be well
May the Spirit grace us with His truth an understanding.
If there are not two judgments, then how are the saints going to judge the world; because all have to be judged.
1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come (during a persons physical lifetime) that JUDGMEMT must begin at the house of God ( Hebrews 3:6): an if it first begin at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God.
1 Corinthians 11:31-32 For if we would judge ourselves (by the word of God), we should not be judged.
(vs 32) But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord (as children), that we should not be condemned with the world.
1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect (love your enemy), that we may have boldness in the day of judgment (in our lifetime), because as he is (he loves his enemies), so are we in this world.
Jude 1:15 To execute judgement on all, and to convince all (some are convinced in their lifetime some are not)....
2 Thessalonians 1:4-5 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and TRIBULATIONS that you endure:
(vs 5) Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, which you also suffer:
1 Timothy 5:24 Some men's sins are open before hand, going before to judgment; and some men they (judgments) follow after.
There are many more scriptures that confirm two judgments if you look for them; most don't look but are happy to follow the traditions of man.
I Luke.10:18 we read Jesus saw Satan fall as lightning from heaven.
In Revelation 12:10 we read the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down. Satan did not fall in Revelation 12, he was cast out of heaven "neither was their place found any more in heaven". We also see in Revelation 12:11 the reason they were able to cast Satan out. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony"; This shows this is at least after the crucifying of Jesus, more likely in the future. Also, in Revelation 12, it is permanent, they are rejoicing in heaven Satan will no longer have access to heaven. When Satan is cast out down to earth he gives his power to the beast in Revelation 13.
In the Bible, we can read angels left their first estate and their own habitation and are locked in chains of darkness until judgment day. Jude 1:6 and 2Pet.2:4. Some scriptures say there are demons, evil spirits on the earth, and how they got here there is little information in the Bible how. You have to go outside the Bible and compile a bushel of speculations and pick one but be careful.
Some things are not answered by scriptures but do not affect our salvation. The things we do need are in bold print.
Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Thanks Ron
Jude 1:3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
You seem to believe in your own doctrine in that only those who can speak in tongues have received the Holy Ghost. I am sorry to tell you this but you are wrong. Others have posted much Scripture on this that you seem to want to ignore. Nit picking verses like Mark 16 and thinking Jude 1:20 is the same as speaking in tongues. Seeming to have more zeal for different tongues than the teachings of Christ and the Word of God in the Holy Scriptures. God knows when we pray to Him no matter what, of the thousands, of languages it is in. God reads hearts not just an angelic tongue.
. 2 Corinthians 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
Galatians 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
God Bless those who have the gift of speaking in unknown tongues. Like I stated before I see no use for this gift and am not interested in asking for it. My Father and Lord Jesus Christ know when I am speaking/praying to them.
I wish you well on your journey. God Bless.
I will do my best to answer your question of "How do you pray in the Holy Ghost" from Jude 1:20. Others may want to give their view on this also.
In my experience as I have only been saved by the Lord Jesus Christ for just under two years. My life has taken many turns from a power not of my own. Experiencing miracles of healing, repenting from things of this world, and my prayer life that was non existent before being led to the Lord. I will testify that the Holy Spirit has taught me how to pray. As starting out praying I would maybe only say the our Father prayer. The prayer I say now every day takes about one hour and is from my heart. I give all credit to the Holy Ghost expanding my prayer life.
One other thing is that when I pray I usually don't speak out of my mouth. It is in Spirit.
I agree with what S Spencer stated on the most excellent gift of the Holy Ghost being love/charity.
Hope that helps some. God Bless.
When fornication ends, and it will, all our social ills will end. It would be love for others if we would put an end to the sex of S&G. It is hateful to promote it for that is proof we don't care if other suffer.
Where is the husband and wife in Sodom and Gomorrah? Sodom and Gomorrah fornication was going after ""STRANGE"" flesh.
Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after ((((STRANGE flesh)))
Where is the strange flesh in the garden? Satan?
Or is she indirectly describing fornication the way she did in one of her earlier posts when she mentioned the type of sex Job didn't believe in?
She can directly clear this up but that would be uncomfortable,
So let's go back to the source of this topic.
MARILYN TELL US IN WHAT WAY DID ADAM AND EVE COMMIT FORNICATION?
How do you explain the following?
The following verse gives a man and his wife instructions not to sin. "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord" ( Colossians 3:18). This indicates a man and his wife can do what is unfit and the cross reference to "as it is fit in the Lord" refers one to Ephesians 5:3, "But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you." Throughout scripture many verses tell a man and his wife there is a form of sexual behavior they should not engage in.
Fornication is clearly defined in Jude 1:7 as being the sex in Sodom and Gomorrah. "Sodom and Gomorrah giving themselves over to fornicationare set forth for an example." So we can see that God forbids all men and women, including husbands and wives to use their bodies for fornication. This truth is reinforced and made clear in 1 Corinthians 6:13 where it declares, "The body is not made for fornication, but for the Lord.
How can a wife and her husband commit adultery with each other as you tell us they can.?
With God all things are possible!
He is more than able !
Each is ETERNAL ( Rom 16.26, Re 22:13, Heb 9:14)
HOLY (Re 4:8, 15:4, Ac 3:14, 1 John 2:20)
OMNIPRESENT ( Jer 23:24, Eph 1:23, Ps 139:7)
OMNIPOTENT( Ge 17:1, Rev 1:8, Ro 15:19, Jer 32:17, Heb 1:3, Lu 1:35)
ONMISCIENT (Ac 15:18, Joh 21:17, 1 Cor 2:10,11)
CREATOR ( Gen 1:1, Col 1:16, Job 33:4, Ps 148:5, John 1:3, Job 26:13)
SANCTIFIER ( Jude 1:1, Heb 2:11, 1 Pe 1:2)
RESURRECTED CHRIST ( 1 Co 6:14, Joh 2:19, 1 Pe 3:8)
Hope that helps.
Thank you for your reply and I appreciate your comments. I guess we take a different view over what is biblical and what is not... and that's ok, so long as we earnestly contend for THE FAITH that was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3.
The fact that there are children of God and children of the devil is clear wherever I read in the Bible, so that much is Biblical. It's all about predestination: Cain/Able, Jacob/Esau ( Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated) Jesus Christ/Judas Iscariot.
Jesus chose his words carefully in Mat 23:33. He knew precisely to whom he was speaking. Consider also 2Pet2 and Jude 1:10 and think about those brute beasts made to be taken and destroyed. How were they made and why? There are many other examples in the Bible that should prove to the reader the fact of two predestinated groups, one ordained to life, the other, much larger in number, destined for the lake of fire. We have a just and loving God. He is interested only in His own children, the children of the devil have their purpose in time but not in eternity.
Understanding the "mechanics" of how it all came about as part of God's master plan of being a saviour is wonderful to a true child of God. The two "lines" didn't come about by eating apples or any other botanical fruit. No, please read the early chapters of Genesis again... there's more to learn of the truth there.
Why did Satan go bad? Verse 17 tells us that his heart "was lifted up because of his beauty". Not that he always admired himself 'in the mirror', but his heart was lifted up against the Most High, believing that he was as good or better than God. See Isaiah 14:12-15, & particularly, that he was perfect, Ezekiel 28:15 (sinless, as all the other heavenly beings), until his pride took over & he believed he was better than God. But the big question: how was it possible for Satan to sin, & can other heavenly beings likewise sin? It seems that even by being in the Holy Presence of God & finding complete delight in worshipping Him, there can still be that element of choice. For in his pride & estrangement from God, he also gathered to himself other 'defecting' angels (see 2 Peter 2:4; Revelation 12:7-9; Jude 1:6).
We see Jesus in His humanity, though pure & sinless, He was tempted of Satan (Matthew chapter 4). Jesus resisted Satan using God's Word against him. However, Satan was in the presence of God & His Word in Heaven, yet allowed the thought of grandeur to enter in & develop into sin ( James 1:15) & finally a full blown wickedness that saw him banished from God's Presence & ever since, working against God to bring & keep humanity in his solid grip. But the Cross of Jesus brings us release from that grip - if we can only trust Jesus for it.
1. Jesus' ministry ( Jude 1:24)
a. His current ministry ( Jude 1:24a): Preventing us from falling down here.
b. His coming ministry ( Jude 1:24b): Presenting us faultless up there.
2. Jesus' magnificence ( Jude 1:25): "Glory, majesty, power, and authority belong to him, in the beginning, now, and forevermore. Amen."
