Dear Suze, I know that the Word of God is called a sword often in the Bible. But in the case of Luke 22:36, I do not believe that Jesus was referring to the Scriptures when he told the disciples that they were to acquire a sword for the next time He was sending them out.
With respect, I do not wish to continue a conversation on this topic, as we disagree, and I am not convinced by your
There is no questioning that I am a Christian first. God has chosen for me to be born in this country, therefore, I am to abide by the constitution on this country. In Luke 22:36 Jesus instructs his disciples to acquire a sword along with a few other things. So, for what purpose would they need a sword except for self defense. Defending oneself from harm or death is not violence in the way you seem to be saying. Whether one uses their body, fists, sword, club, knife, gun, or any other kind of weapon to defend themselves from an attack is sanctioned here by Jesus. This is my interpretation of this verse.
I see you found the account I was seeking in my post, Luke 22:, which is not a parable, by the way. Also, we can read in the O.T. how God told the Israelites to eliminate the inhabitants of the Land promised to Abraham and his descendants when they entered the land after the 40 years in the wilderness. This meant to kill ALL. Not run them off into another area, not enslave and subdue them, and not to co-exist with them in the promised land. Here God sanctioned killing and doing violence to others.
I believe what Sister Suze was saying, Peter and most others, even today, don't UNDERSTAND: the SWORD was the WORD, not a metal blade.
But he was going to show them a miracle by healing the man's ear, and when the Holy Spirit came upon them, they would remember and UNDERSTAND.
THIS IS A PARABLE:
Luke 22:36 And he said unto them, But now (TODAY is the day), he that hath a purse, let him now take it, and like wise his script: and he that hath no SWORD, let him sell his garments, AN BUY ONE.
THIS IS A PARABLE:
Revelation 13:16 And he (the SWORD, the WORD, the Holy Ghost) CAUSED ALL, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark (the SPIRIT of TRUTH) in their fight hand, or in their forehead.
Revelation 3:18 I counsel of thee, TO BUY OF ME .....
Revelation 13:1 And that NO MAN might BUY or SELL (the Kingdom of God), save he had the MARK (CHRIST IN YOU), or the NAME (Christ in You) of the BEAST (the forth kingdom, the kingdom of God: Daniel 7:23), or the number or HIS NAME (Christ in you).
I had a personal encounter with a young lady in the Lord in the late 1980s who gave me a Word about having a certain physical condition that caused me to be "bound up" as it were. There was no way she would have known about it. A Word of Knowledge doesn't seem to have any direct Biblical reference but certainly fits in with the Prophets when addressing David as Nathan did; for instance. Again; as with any other supernatural event; the enemy who works thorough families for generations (and can act as a "familiar spirit" for example) is well aware of our weaknesses; and if we allow any sins to fester; God Himself allows us to be tested. There should be some check in our spirit that the Holy Spirit is communicating with us; or not ( Romans 8:16). It is of course the message not the messenger that is the focus in the case of a true miracle. That being said; someone who is known to be a man or woman of God by their character and lifestyle is usually used-although the message tends to come in the O.T. in rather mysterious delivery and what is considered odd behaviors.
We certainly need to heed the Word so that any false prophets or words of knowledge can be caught. Anyone; for instance saying to someone that God has called them to divorce their wives and marry someone else is from the enemy (using carnal desire as the impetus). The same principle often occurs today with these "prosperity" preachers who just have to have another car; plane; etc. Again; as I stated before a Word often isn't pleasant; an example being Peter being told he would be taken where he didn't want to go ( John 21:19). This came after the preparation when Satan desired to sift him like wheat; the Lord prayed for him; and then the Lord told him of his denial yet gave the hope that when he was "converted" he would strengthen his brethren ( Luke 22:32). Here; we see an ongoing discipling process which should also occur when any word of knowledge is given.
Scripture tells us the unclean spirits/devils knew He was the Son of God, Matt. 8:29Mark 3:11Luke 8:27-28. Scripture tells us Jesus is the Son of God the only begotten of the Father, John 1:14. Scripture tells us Jesus the Son of God was before this world John 17:52 Timothy 1:9. Scripture tells us Jesus the Son of God was the beginning of creation Rev. 3:1. Scripture tells us everything was created through Him Col. 1:16.
Scripture tells us to confess Jesus is the Son of God, 1 John 4:15. Scripture tells us God gave His only begotten Son, John 3:16. Scripture tells us to believe God gave His only begotten Son, 1 John 5:10. Scripture tells us God was made known in the flesh through His only begotten Son same as creation was through His Son 1 Timothy 3:16Col. 1:16.
Scripture tells us we have salvation and eternal life only in Jesus Christ, John 3:36Acts 4:12Eph. 4:121 Thess. 5:91 John 5:13 Scripture tells us we can only come to the Father through Jesus, John 14:61 Timothy 2:5.
Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets and died for our sins, and the only way that could be done is in the flesh, the seed of Abraham, Hebrews 2. He experienced temptation the same as you and me, Luke 4:2Heb 2:18, He had a brain and a will, Luke 22:42 but He was obedient to the Father. We now have a high priest in heaven that lived in this flesh just like us, Hebrews 4:14-16.
Salvation and eternal life only by the grace of God through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ's perfect life in the flesh, His blood shed for us, and His resurrection. We cannot deny the divinity of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God that was before this world, but no creed, doctrine, or statement of faith can be placed above or added to that we must believe to receive salvation and eternal life if scripture does not tell us we must believe. Truth is in the simplicity that is in Christ.

The power of the Holyspirit displayed in Peter "After" conversion!
If we revisit Luke 22:32 "WHEN THOU ART CONVERTED, strengthen thy brethren" Wow! by now you would have thought he was already converted by just going through the motion of just following Jesus. No! An outward expression means nothing unless there's an inward cleansing. You see an example of this in Matthew 23:26 when the Lord rebuked the Pharisees.
But let's look at the difference in Peter after his conversion. We know by the Gospels Peter and the Desciples denied the Lord, fearing death. In John 21:18-19 the Lord tells Peter by which death he should glorify God, then he tells Peter "Follow me" This reminds us of John 13:36-37.
After Peters conversion and when he was strengthened by the Holyspirit Peter preached boldly whilst knowing his fate.
2 Peter 1:14. Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
This ought to be humbling! All you do should be to the Glory of God. When we're born again everything you have or do is supplied by the Holyspirit, Not of yourselves. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 8:7-9
If you don't Love your brother it is because you can't! And you can't because God is not in you!!
There is an interesting contrast when you look at the Greek words for "love" used in John 21:15-17. When Jesus asked Peter, "Do you love me?" in John 21:15-16, He used the Greek word "agape," this Love us immeasurable, it means to be totally given in to! Only the Holyspirit can produce this.
Both times, Peter responded with "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you," using the Greek word phileo, which refers more to a brotherly/friendship type of love.
The third time Jesus asks, "Do you love me?" in John 21:17, He uses the word phileo! The Lord reduced the measure of love to peters and our capability.
Notice Peters reaction "Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, "phileo" thou me?"
The Lord knew Peter couldn't Agape him because the Holyspirit wasn't given to them yet.
I believe he was tasking Peter pointing him back to what he thought he could do on his own strength in Matthew 26:31-35.
It do well to note all the disciples thought they would be willing to die with Christ.
The Lord forewarned Peter in
Luke 22:31-32. And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
In the John account we see two interesting things right before the bold statement from Peter and the disciples,
First
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. Later they showed this was a command they couldn't do on their own.
Second.
The commandment wasn't given until after Judas departed.
John 13:26-30.
All these scriptures suggests all our service we do don't even begin until after the New birth through baptism of the Holyspirit.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13.
Psalm 110:1. The Lord said unto my Lord, Jehovah ladoni, the saying, or decree, that is, I record the saying or decree of Jehohovah to my Lord, that is, to his Son the Messiah, whom I acknowledge as my Lord and God. This decree, made in eternity, was in due time published, and was actually executed when God raised up Christ from the dead, and brought him into his heavenly mansion. David designedly calls the Messiah his Lord, to admonish the whole church, that although he was his Song of Solomon according to the human nature, yet he had a higher nature, and was also his Lord, as being by nature God blessed for ever, and consequently Lord of all things, as he is called Acts 10:36; and by office, as he was God man, the Lord and King of the whole church, and of all the world, for the church's sake. And this was said to prevent that offence which the Holy Ghost foresaw the Jews and others would be ready to take at the meanness of Christ's appearance in the flesh. The Hebrew word adon, is one of God's titles, signifying his power and authority over all things, and therefore is most fitly given to the Messiah, to whom God had delegated all his power in the universe, > Matthew 28:18. Sit thou at my right hand - Thou who hast for so many years been veiled with infirm and mortal flesh, despised, rejected, and trampled upon by men, and persecuted unto death; do thou now take to thyself thy great and just power. Thou hast done thy work upon earth, now take thy rest, and the possession of that sovereign kingdom and glory, which by right belongs to thee; do thou rule with me, with an authority and honour far above all creatures, in earth or heaven. So this phrase is expounded in other places: see Luke 22:69; 1 Corinthians 15:25; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 8:1; Hebrews 10:12-13; Ephesians 1:20
There are several reasons someone asks this question. I'd like to address the core of your question. If you're having situations in your life that seem impossible, please remember GOD can do impossible! He "said" & the entire Galaxy came into existence, Genesis 1, the Bible is full of GOD's miraculous compassion, 2Kings 7, notice there was a horrible time with horrible actions, 4 leperous men, (usually cast out away from other's because of it) they were in a seemingly hopeless situation. Yet GOD had already made provision for all the City.

Sometimes we have to find out who we are not, & who we don't want to be, before we find out who we are. I've told several people at times before testings & temptation we can say "I'd never" but as Peter under the real pressure gave in, we really don't know how we handle trial & temptation until testing. (We're to pray that God deliver us & lead us not into temptation ' Matthew 6,) Luke 22:31-34, Luke 22:40-62, Matthew 26:75, John 21:17, later Peter became a bold preacher read all the book of Acts to see Peter's boldness afterward. Hello Janelle. I understand you're enquiring about the meaning of Communion, otherwise called, The Lord's Table or Breaking of Bread. As you know, this was first instituted by the Lord Jesus when He shared a meal with His disciples at Passover time, prior to His arrest & crucifixion (called, The Last Supper): Luke 22:14-20.
Then after Jesus' Death & Resurrection, His apostles & the new Church formed under the Holy Spirit's indwelling & direction, also observed this coming together, eating, & remembering of Jesus' Sacrifice ( Acts 2:41-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30). So when Jesus first instituted this at The Last Supper, He wanted to show His disciples very vividly how the bread they had broken & now eating, was a picture of His Own Body being broken (crown of thorns, nails in hands & feet, flesh torn by whipping, & pierced side). And the cup of liquid they drank & shared together, should be a reminder of His Blood that would be shed in death & through it, the New Covenant would be brought in. New Covenant? This is God's Promise that whoever repents & is forgiven, does so because Jesus was made our Sacrifice (our Substitute) & God accepts us on His new Terms. The Old Covenant was under obedience to the Law & Sacrifices, which could never save a person, but it looked forward to when God's Sacrifice (His Son) would fully pay for our sin - for those who truly repent & turn to Him.
So how does Communion work? It is a memorial occasion, where those who are born again of God's Spirit, share together in a meal (today we generally have small tokens of wafer & juice), remembering in a material way, what the cost of our salvation was & a time to praise God together as a Church body, for God's Gift of His Son because of His great Love for us. This meal/token of bread & wine doesn't change into flesh & blood, as some believe, but are given as reminders of the great work at Calvary. It should be a special time when the Church together focusses on Jesus' Death & Resurrection.
The doctrine of election is described as the "total depravity" of man according to the "TULIP" acronym which was credited toward; but not originated with Calvin's set of beliefs on predestination as one of the elements. Simply put; Christ looked down also and saw that there was no man in Isaiah 63:3; thus he renders justice and we are only made right through His sacrifice. If anyone else could have done it; surely Christ wouldn't have to die on the cross; or have to pray that if possible the cup would be spared
( Luke 22:42). It is obvious from scripture that "all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". ( Romans 3:23). There are; of course many other verses in both Testaments on that subject.
We could say that since Revelation indicates the fate of ALL who are NOT written in the Book of Life is to worship Antichrist ( Rev. 13:8) we all are going to turn away as your quoted verse in Psalms indicates. Obviously; some do come to God; but since repentance is a gift according to scripture ( Acts 11:18); and faith is also mentioned as such in Ephesians 2:8; it becomes clear that all good gifts come from above ( James 1:17).
This doesn't absolve our personal responsibility; and part of this mystery of election involves man's response or lack thereof to the same evidence at least with external appearance. The sticking point comes as indicated when Christ said "why do you call me good"? ( Mark 10:18). Seeing Him as God in the flesh only comes through Divine revelation ( Matthew 16:17). Others see Him as a "good teacher; Prophet or something else as the earlier verses in that passage indicate. Those people are not "spiritually discerned" ( 1 Cor. 2:14).
Finally; going back to Noah we have the lack of salvation available for hybrid offspring of the fallen angels; as well as those angels themselves. Therefore; a universal destruction occured; except for Noah "perfect in his generations" ( Gen. 6:9). This indicates pure human seed; not sinless
For me to step on your toe is no sin its an accident, for me to stomp your toe and hurt you is no accident its a sin and a Christian won't stomp your toe. But a Christian may step on your toe by accident. Does it hurt if I step on your toe - YES, could I have avoided it maybe, but I should say i'm sorry and try not to do it again.
Yes Judas was called and chosen ( John 6:70) Judas sold our SAVIOR for $$$ - (went to far no chance to repent), and Peter denied him there are greater sins than others.
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art (converted), strengthen thy brethren. 62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
Thanks for that Suze. I agree with much that you wrote, but rather than deal with each part of it, I would ask, What is the origin of our carnal minds? What was in Paul's mind when he stated, "the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God" Romans 8:7,8: where does this carnal mind/carnal life, lived in the flesh, come from?
Is this something God has given us from our birth, or has another intruded into humanity causing us to sin against God & that sin has been passed on to all generations? ( Romans 5:12; Acts 5:3; 1 Timothy 5:14,15; 2 Corinthians 2:10,11; 1 Thessalonians 2:18; Luke 22:31,32; etc., are a few verses showing Satan's activity, from the first day till the day he is put away, & our ongoing struggle to withstand him & his devices & to live in the power & joy of the Holy Spirit).
Satan is never absent - He is present - He is at work - and working in the hearts & minds of those who choose to live according to the dictates of their flesh & not in the fullness of the Spirit. Such were the gross sins of those kings mentioned earlier - if Ananias & Sapphira could have Satan gripping their heart so as to lie to the Spirit, how much more of Satan's control over those kings & indeed so many rulers/govts of today & their workings against Jesus Christ.
I believe you're looking for Revelation 12, I gave additional Scripture in your question on same subject.
I wanted to add: Jude 1, entire chapter & compare Revelation 12 to Luke 2:1-7, Matthew 2:7-23, John 19:30, 1Corinthians 15:20, John 21:14, Luke 22:69, Mark 16:19, Acts 5:31,
Revelation 12:4 apparently. Also check out Hebrews 12:22; and Matthew 25:41.
Some thoughts: Angels were WITH God at the creation; hence they saw everything. God has NO redemption for them. How much they were aware of the consequences of their rebellion is unclear. Praise God that we do NOT see such things. Praise God that God didn't let Adam go on in his FALLEN state without removing the tree of life which would have sealed him forever in that state-and that He had a redemption plan for man as Genesis 3:15 indicates. Of course we don't have any listing of Adam in the "hall of saints" of Hebrews 11.
We have the apparent corruption of the seed of men mentioned in Genesis 6 and likely that will be repeated with some DNA alteration with the mark of the beast. It would seem; anyway that the demon rising out of the pit (Apollyon) will possess Antichrist; who in turn will decieve ALL those not in the Book of Life with some promise of utopia or eternal existence. My point here is that day and night the devil never sleeps ( Rev. 12:10; and 1 Peter 5:8-9). He uses the minds of natural men and the desires of the world to decieve ( Matt. 16:23). This verse is sobering; because it shows that our natural desire to live must be superceded by dying to self and for Him if necessary. It also reflects what on the surface would seem to e a sympathetic statement by Peter who couldn't concieve of Christ as Lord (which the Spirit apparently revealed to him right before that) having to go through that. His natural mind was like the others who became exceedingly sad and tuned out these hard sayings.
Jesus; mercifully reasurred Peter that after he converted that he would also strengthen his brethren. ( Luke 22:31-32). This probably refers to the state at Pentecost after he was transformed. Jesus alluded to this after asking 3 times if he loved Him (using different terms for love). He thus went where he didn't want to go. We must also walk in the Spirit. Agape.
Just as I said, you are ignorant of the Gospel in the King James Bible that is: "Christ Jesus took our place in hell." He said he would be in the heart of the earth ( Matt. 12:40) and greatly feared going there, praying in agony, and sweating blood, not to go there ( Luke 22:42-44). The wicked dead are only in hell. "He made his grave with the wicked" Isaiah 53:9-10 where "his SOUL was made an offering for sin" and Jesus would "be the FIRST that should rise from the DEAD" as Acts 26:23 tells you and "His soul was not left in hell." Acts 2:31 clearly tells you. Jesus did what no man can do; anyone can die on a cross, and anyone can go into hell, but only Jesus came out of hell after 36 hours which no other soul has done. God raise Jesus from the DEAD and unless you believe THAT you cannot be saved. Without someone taking your place in hell you will go there. This is Christianity 101; Why do you not know this? You believe the strong delusional lie that denies that Jesus suffered in hell which saves no one! God made the Gospel so simple; just know that "Christ Jesus took your place in hell" and you HAVE Eternal Life! Where is your brain?
No. 1. (IF) Judas Was (That One Devil) Then (Why On Earth) Did Jesus Call Simon Peter (SATAN)?
As far as the Bible records, there is only one Devil (Satan) & many devils (or, demons/evil spirits). Jesus referred to both Judas & Peter as Devil & Satan. In Luke 22:3 we read, "Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve." Judas didn't turn into the (or, a) Devil but the Devil entered him to cause him to betray Jesus (fulfilling the Scriptures, of course).
In Luke 22:31, Jesus said, "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat" and "But he (Jesus) turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." ( Matthew 16:23). Same thing again: from Peter's almost valiant stand to protect Jesus' Honor & Life, Jesus came back to him, calling him Satan.
Both Judas & Simon acted against Jesus: one an outright betrayal & the other, a refusal to accept Jesus' Mission. When they or anyone believes or works contrary to God's Word, they don't become a Devil, but they are moved by the Devil to act according to his Will & not God's. Jesus saw the work of a living Devil in both these men - both these men eventually realized their errors - one in suicide, the other in the furtherance of the Gospel & building up of Christ's Church. Devils don't repent - but their work in people's hearts is severely obstructed when they have to deal with the Living God in regenerated lives. Peter was forgiven & lived out his life in the Power & Joy of the Holy Spirit. Sadly, Judas chose to end his life, maybe fulfilling Satan's wish for him.
Hi Giannis. I don't agree with that statement. What I read in the NT, is that the believers broke bread together whenever they came together - at least that is the sense I get from Acts 2:42-47. It seems that whenever they came together for fellowship, whether on the Lord's Day or any other day, then during their meal they set a time aside to remember the Lord's Death (even as the Lord did when He first instituted it in Luke 22:1-20). And of course, that meal of bread & drink were representative of His broken Body & shed Blood & did not mystically reconstitute itself into those human substances.
The Church today does not function exactly as the early Church did; if we were to in this regard of the Lord's Table, then when believers meet together anywhere for a fellowship meal, it would be good to set a time aside to remember the Lord, both in discussion, prayer & breaking of bread in memory of the Lord Jesus. If the Church no longer recognizes the Lord's Supper, then they should probably remove water baptism as well, as both these were ordinances laid out by the Lord & given to the Church.
Hi all dear, now you all talk a lot again. When referring to Timothy about the treatment of church members, it does not agree with paying taxes to the Emperor / King / State. Romans 131 Timothy 6:10-12 ALvin Kamberi is right, and all. But The 10 commandments state the importance of what we should worship and honor. God Alone. God must have everything. Colossians 3:12-17 we have no reason to revel and wallow in the riches of the world. Not even Jesus did, though He could fully enjoy all the benefits of the world. He lived soberly and always worshiped God. Gethsemane as described in Luke 22:44 Then He strained so that he sweated blood.
But we must work with our hands
Mark 12:17
Oh, as I wish we Christians could take care of each other, have daily conversations, have daily testimonies, have daily care for each other. Living in a collective. The model was and lives as in the time of the Acts of the Apostles. We have this web then which is a little skin of the real life we should have had :) So I thank you all every day. The apostles sold everything they had and gave to the needy. New members were added daily! Acts 2
:D In English we say woman and man. I hold that all men stand before God in truth as a Spirit with Him.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
This is an important strategist in how we should live. At that time, it was probably not men's work and women's work that we like and talk about today. We did not come to the hospital to give birth. Even then, they were equal. But then of course the evil came! Take care of yourself, and do not accept what is free, it can be dangerous.
Dear "Horace Anderson". Must start with the last first :). We are washed clean: Luke 22:7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
In v 20 we get answers. When we get to Heaven, God's Light will Shine on us. In that light, no sin can manage to be in that :).

Thank you Jesus for your great patience with us, Your Beloved. Soon You are here and we will come to You. Stay blessed in His Holy Name Jesus Christ, love u all. John chapter 11 and 12
The Passover and how it was to be done you will find in Exodus 12:3-11, read all of Exodus 12. The Passover day is on the 14th of Nisan the day Jesus was crucified; this day is also a preparation day for the 15th the first day of 7 days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Jewish people on Passover, gather together for a ceremonial meal called a seder and telling of the story of the Exodus from Egypt.
Some Christians celebrate passion week and Easter Sunday, the day Jesus resurrected, and some just Easter Sunday. It is easy to get lost in traditions, there comfortable and many have reunions on these holidays.
You say you are concerned; Passover is one of the feasts that Israelites were required to return to Jerusalem. Many combine the Passover and the Unleavened Bread feast into 8 days and call it the feast of Passover or the Feast of Unleavened bread, they did that in the time of Jesus, Matthew 26:17Luke 22:1.
By following traditions we can overlook what Jesus fulfilled, He rode in on the 10th of Nisan, the Passover day on the 14th of Nisan, the day He was crucified, the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world, the Tamid, the first and the last, the feast of Unleavened Bread with His perfect life, the feast of First Fruits, the day He was resurrected, He ascended the same time as the priest waved the Omer, John 20:17 He is the First Fruits of those who slept, 1 Corinthians 15:20, that we now call Easter.
1Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
My understanding is Passover is a sacrifice that Jesus fulfilled; and no other blood sacrifice is needed, if done in faith, how you remember or honor it is up to you.
1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
God Bless YOU.
8:29 Mark 3:11 Luke 8:27-28. Scripture tells us Jesus is the Son of God the only begotten of the Father, John 1:14. Scripture tells us Jesus the Son of God was before this world John 17:5 2 Timothy 1:9.
Scripture tells us God was made known in the flesh through His only begotten Son same as creation was through His Son 1 Timothy 3:16 Col. 1:16.
Scripture tells us we have salvation and eternal life only in Jesus Christ, John 3:36 Acts 4:12 Eph. 4:12 1 Thess. 5:9 1 John 5:13 Scripture tells us we can only come to the Father through Jesus, John 14:6 1 Timothy 2:5.
Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets and died for our sins, and the only way that could be done is in the flesh, the seed of Abraham, Hebrews 2. He experienced temptation the same as you and me, Luke 4:2 Heb 2:18, He had a brain and a will, Luke 22:42 but He was obedient to the Father.
I love this site and the brothers and sisters on it.

More on the command to Love in part 6.

I wanted to add: Jude 1, entire chapter & compare Revelation 12 to Luke 2:1-7, Matthew 2:7-23, John 19:30, 1Corinthians 15:20, John 21:14, Luke 22:69, Mark 16:19, Acts 5:31,

Agape.
To your questions Linda:
No.

I am aware of these Scriptures. I leave it up to Jesus to determine what this will entail. But for me, I don't dwell on ruling over
anyone, but instead seek to follow Christ's example and words from Luke 22:25-27; John 13:1-17 and elsewhere where our
Lord instructs His followers to be servants, not rulers and to follow His example (washing their feet) and that those who wish to
be great in the kingdom must be the servant of all. So, I do not glory in the designation of believers being "kings and priests of
the Most High" as the King of Kings was humble and a willing servant. That is what I want my attitude to do.
I just think that those who desire to rule over angels and others have an unhealthy and devilish attitude.
God bless you and Amen to all who have responded with great truth!!
Tina reminded me of something I would like to add.
In Luke 22:31-32. Jesus tells peter Satan desires to sift him like wheat.
Then in Luke 22:34. Jesus said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
The Lord stands outside of time looking in. He knew what sins we would commit before we committed them and he knew who would come to him.
What's wonderful about that is we can't disappoint him.
We are saved according to his mercy Titus 3:5. by grace through faith. Ephesians 2:8-9.
God bless you.
Take care of yourself, and do not accept what is free, it can be dangerous.
ohh the space again :D, Jesus loves u all.
Revelation chapter 22
Many combine the Passover and the Unleavened Bread feast into 8 days and call it the feast of Passover or the Feast of Unleavened bread, they did that in the time of Jesus, Matthew 26:17 Luke 22:1.
God bless
