    Romans 2:6-7, 10

Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Matthew 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Hi Lauren, the Bible answers the most profound questions about life that science can't answer: Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going when we die? How should we live? Out of the 7 billion people on earth, most people believe the Bible and that it's true, historically and factually, enough so, they base their beliefs and worldview on it. It has transformed billions of lives for the better and countless testimonies, videos, books are written about it. It is the most popular and published book in world history in the billions of copies. It's specific with names, dates, and world events, which historians confirm is accurate. So much so it has the entire genealogy of mankind between Adam & Eve to Abraham to Moses to Jesus, spanning thousands of years. It wasn't just written by one author, but dozens, spanning 1,500 years, and 66 books. It contains profound wisdom, even 'knew' things before science did: Link

How to know the bible is true
  • Adam - In Reply on John 5:4 - 6 years ago
Hello, the Bible refutes that with these 2 verses and more. A Christian who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit clearly isn't forgiven and won't go to heaven, because that's what Jesus said. He warned Christians about this in the Bible: Mark 3:28-30. Hebrews 10:26. How can anyone claim that a Christian who deliberately turns their back on God and permanently denounces Jesus is still saved? It seems that Jesus's own words would have to be ignored to come to such a conclusion. John 14:15. Why would Jesus tell his Christian followers to obey Him if they were already saved and if it made no difference if they obeyed or not? Why does this Matthew 7:21 reference say also to obey if you don't have to? Clearly these verses paint a different picture than the one satan is painting trying to convince Christians that its ok to disobey and sin all you want with no consequence. One of these beliefs is true and the other is false. Satan is the father of lies and may be behind one of them- which is more likely, that satan is deceiving Christians into being unnecessarily obedient, or that he's deceiving Christians into believing it's ok to be disobedient?

What if God did that with us? What if God judged us by our outward appearance? What if He judged us based on where we grew up? Or what we do for a living? Or the mistakes we made when we were young? He wouldn't do that, would He? "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you " ( Matthew 7:1,2-NKJV )

So be careful when you judge. That doesn't mean we shouldn't discern. That does mean we shouldn't pass the verdict. The amount of grace you give is the amount you get. Jesus had another view of the man born blind. Rather than see him as an opportunity for discussion, He saw him as an opportunity for God. Why was he blind? "That the works of God should be revealed in him" ( John 9:3)

We can't let people take away our sense of judgment. There are things we are to judge. We are to judge rightly. ( Dt 25:2; Jn 7:24) Saints will judge world ( 1 Cor 6:2). Help me with being able to judge rightly without being judgmental.

Hi Deason, the reason I think that believing in Jesus isn't enough is that the Bible already says that believing isn't enough. Even satan and demons know the truth and believe in Jesus, so do you think they're saved? James 2:19, if obedience wasn't important, then why did Jesus say it was? He said you don't love Jesus if you don't obey Him. So, for those who disobey Jesus, do you think it's likely that you go to heaven and be rewarded as much as those who spent their life in service and obedience to Him? Romans 2:6 Satan wants to deceive Christians into believing you don't have to be obedient because he's trying to get more people to go to hell. James 2:26. And what about the many verses saying to repent and confess of your sin? Matthew 4:17 If it wasn't necessary then why did Jesus say it was? If obedience wasn't necessary, why would Jesus say it was? The real question is does someone fully believe the Bible and do they truly believe Jesus? Matthew 7:22

If you love Jesus, obey His commandments. John 14:15 If you don't obey His commandments then you don't love Jesus. If you don't love and follow Jesus you won't be with Him in heaven for eternity. It's pretty simple. You were given the freewill to choose and many will not chose the narrow path, but will believe satan's deception that it's ok to do evil, that you don't need to try or make effort to do anything good, etc. Matthew 7:22-23

Deason K. ( James 2:26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. ( James 2:17) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. ( James 2:18) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Read James 2:19-24..I am not trying to work my way to heaven, by my faith I will have good works, faith and works go hand in hand, if you have one without the other than it is not complete..That's why Matthew 7:20 says By their fruits ye shall know them. May God bless you.

Hi Debra, I have decades of experience with the Church of Christ and while I have found many loving and well meaning people, I generally disagree with the positions taken and how they conduct their church. Specifically I feel it is wrong to cast judgment on others Matthew 7:5 even within other Christians in the C of C denomination, and I feel 'works' is overemphasized as if some believe they can earn their way to heaven, and I felt that having relationship with God and Jesus was underemphasized, as well as the holy spirit underemphasized, and saying playing an instrument is a sin even though the Bible said David played a harp, etc. As if it's fine to play for secular music but not to worship God? For anyone who says 'unless you are baptized and attend regularly our specific church you will go to hell' I feel is unbiblical and God will judge them just like everyone else. Some call them a cult, and while some may be, I would not go that far for most. Not everyone who attends that denomination will necessarily believe all those things but many do in my experience. 1 Cor 10.

Look at Luke 11:13, which further edifies this verse. "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the HOLY SPIRIT to them that ask him" The good things spoken of by Jesus here are SPIRITUAL things. ETERNAL things. Eternal life. Not temporal things. Not fleshly things.

Every time I ever judged anyone; said it, thought it, sneered, smirked, mumbled, the Holy Spirit reeled me in. I finally got cured. He even made me watch The Shack movie 28 times! I got blissfully delivered.
There is too much judging going on in here. We could be learning the FRUITS of the Holy Spirit. Believe me that unrighteous judgment grieves Him. If you don't feel that, then your conscience may be seared like a strip steak.
These 5 scriptures say don't Judge. Repent. Write them down. Matthew 7:1, Luke 6;37, John 7:24, I Corinthians 4: 3-5. BE MERCIFUL
Now check this one out: Ezekiel 2:21

God is going to personally deal with Israel. Pray. Stop accusing. WWJD God bless you.

Calling Jesus by his Hebrew name in scripture should be no cause for contentious debate.
Refer to the Strong's Concordance: Phonetic Spelling: (ee-ay-sooce')
Definition: Jesus or Joshua, the name of the Messiah, etc.
At the Revelation of Jesus Christ he will reveal his 'new' name known by none of us.
We all (including me) need to be careful about straining that nat & swallowing that camel. The Kingdom of God is more than debate. It is unfeigned love of the brethren. Let us not judge in the matters that do not pertain to salvation....but let each of us be convinced in our own hearts. The Holy Spirit will teach each heart.

2 Corinthians Chapter 2: 15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
17 For we are not as many, which CORRUPT corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Using any other name than Jesus contaminates the word of God. Yes Easter is not in the Bible and it was first the Jews in the old testament doing this for SUNrise services in Ezekiel 8:16.
Mark 7:9 And he (Jesus) said unto (The Jews) them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matthew 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Calling Jesus Yeshua or whatever spelling is a denial of the new testament scriptures.

Traditions of man make void the word of yahovah.
the rapture theory, the pagan word easter and even the celebration of yahshua's birth on a pagan holiday
contaminate any holy worship to yahovah. ?

Some have asked what the New Testament says about judging others, etc.
    Matthew 7:1
    Luke 6:37
    John 7:24
    1 Corinthians 4:5
Concerning unforgiveness, whether in the past or the present: If we don't forgive others, God will not listen to our prayers.
It's not a feeling. It's an act of obedience no matter how others hurt us. Some of need to forgive ourselves. That was hardest fo me to learn. A really great DVD to watch on the subject, is The Shack. Might find it at Walmart. I had to watch it 28 times.

Hello, why would you assume the KJV ever said 'skins'? Other translations use that word, but not KJV. KJV has always been 'bottles' and that is proven by looking at a scan of the original printing 400+ years ago which happens to be right here on this site: Link - Usually not a good idea to accuse others of things you haven't fully researched yourself then to ask people you don't know to 'repent' about it already being correct? Have you prayed to God before making these claims? Matthew 7:5

It could be man made. Do not put your trust in man but put your complete hope and trust in Christ Jesus. He is the only way. He is truth and He is Life. You have to enter through the Narrow gate. Matthew 7:14: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Choose this day whom you will serve.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and (do not) the things which I say?
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? verse 22,23, 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
If you will read the book of James it will help.

On Isaiah 60: You are correct Alex. Jesus paid the price for ALL, yet not ALL will be saved. Look at Matthew 7:13 and 14. Then look at Matthew 7: 21, 22, and 23. This describes to me some of these apostate so called evangelists we are seeing today. Ie. Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, and many others who fall into their false " prosperity " teaching. We are to count the cost in following Christ. It's as easy as just asking Him in, yet we have to follow Him and only Him. We all know through life's experiences that it's not all that easy. I fall short each and every day, and all I have to stand on is His grace. Again, He paid the price for ALL, yet ALL will not be saved.

...but tonight, Christ's Father willed for Christ to open up my heart to accept it, and He gave me wisdom through SEEING what He DID...Himself, though I've intellectually known ALL of this since childhood, basically, and it's been the thing God has made KNOWN to me since I was LITERALLY a SMALL child (that I feared God's will of persecution for my personal life). God chose some things for some people that are different than what He chose for the majority around said "some people." Like in Zephaniah 3:12. No matter WHAT a person does, GOD's will is the ONLY will FOR that person! And God doesn't always reveal things, so people WILL "friend of Job" and understandably disobey Matthew 7:1-5

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven. ( 2 Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:) Read ( Matthew 25) its all good not just the verse that makes us feel good.
