Matthew ch-7 verse 6 says to me; Don't give away your salvation to hang with the unholy, for this would be giving away your most valued treasure. These unholy people will/can drag you to hell with them if you don't put God first.

I believe the fruit referred to in Song of Solomon 7:13 may be the same as the treasures referred to in Matthew 13:52. Jesus said that scribe who becomes a disciple of the Kingdom is like one who brings out of his storehouses treasures he has laid up, both new and old. The maiden, likened unto the Bride of Christ tells her beloved she has laid up for him fruits new and old. Therefore, we, as the Bride of Christ and the disciples of the Kingdom must lay up fruit, both new and old, for our Beloved. What is this fruit that we must lay up, then ? Quite a few references to spiritual fruit can be found ( Galatians 5:22-23; John 15:1-17; Matthew 7:15-20...). However, I think the mystery lies in the new and the old. Jesus wants us to seek it out, to decipher the parable for ourselves. What is the new fruit and what is the old fruit ? When we have dug deep we will discover the answer and can lay up all manner of those pleasant fruits for our Master.

Matthew 7:21. What that place is telling us is that, we should not be hypocrite, we should do the work of our father which is in heaven with the whole of our mind.

I am responding to the verse 14, Tobi's questions. It is not saying that the husband or wife will be saved or go to heaven because the other one obeyed the gospel/is saved. It means that the unbeliever might be won over by as the believer's exemplification of living a godly life. The other might be made holy (santified--Greek translation means, hagiasmos...holiness. As each person is responsible for his or her own soul. If the he or she choose not to obey God's teaching, they won't be and cannot be saved.
Babies/children are not capable of sinning so they will go to heaven. A person have to be able to be accountable for their sins, able to understand.

" Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven {will enter. Just because a person obeyed the gospel, it doesn't" mean they are going to heaven. One has to obey and live their life according to the God's word. If someone goes back into the world and start doing the same thing they did before put on Christ in baptism, they will not make it to heaven. Repenting is a change of heart/lifestyle. God's does not leave or turn his back on us....ever. We are the ones who leaves him. Romans 8:35-39. I hope this helped.

What Jesus meant to say in Mat. 7:6 was: Do not reveal your holy secrets to the wicked (whoever they are) least they will trample them under their feet, and turn again and rent you."

    Ask it shall be given
seek it shall be found and
knock and it shall be opened unto you.
Here we should ask which is well pleased to our Lord
    Seek the kingdom of god first and then every thing required to us in his will, will be given;
knock the door of Gods kingdom then it will be opened is the meaning of Mathew 7;7

I think the main issue here is that people are confusing discernment with judgment. We really need to understand there is also scripture that says to put these things away from you with a malice, how if you do not discern the evil or sin in these things can you put them away from you. How can you not entertain evil or sin or wickedness if you do not call it by its name? How is it that everyone is afraid to say the truth. I believe the scripture we are discussing reads: judge not, lest ye be judged for with what manner you judge you will be judged. so if your trying to be ugly or hateful then it doesn't really matter if your judging or not because you've already crossed the line. but if you see a friend headed into trouble and you say (with love) this is not what God wants you to do then judging has taken on a totally different aspect.

I pray, for a beautiful wife, and a home to have , before I found out how many grandkids , I would have to take to church. I also prayed for the Lord, to make it harder on me and not my friends and family, which he did , but know I await my wife, even though I may know whom she is I await to see, what and where she may find me or I may find her. It is terrible, that it seeems as if everyone knows but me, excwept for I know, my faith will not let me down, nor will my Lord, because of the Blood of his begotten, Son, Our SAVIOR OF THE wORLD, tHANK yOU jESUS FOR ALL THAT yOU HAVE DONE FOR us.

    Sylvis's Matthew Chapter 7 comment about verse 7 on 11/21/2013, 12:57pm...

I am seeking the will of God for my life. I was given this scripture for such a time as this. Pray for me as I follow through this journey.

    -------------
I prayed for you just now. God bless you, I doubt you'll see this, but I felt physically more energetic, better immediately after praying for you--the prayer came easily too (indicating, I think, at least, that it was The Holy Spirit, or Father God's words--b/c it flowed quickly), also I hope things work out well for you (I mean you asked for prayer on your journey). Please pray for me as well, that I obediently follow God's word, and that He delivers on the promises that I am standing on (some of Jesus's words from the book of Matthew) this week. I think this is dependent on my obedience though (I mean for this specific situation--b/c God CERTAINLY blesses those who have NOT obeyed Him, even, like right after they've disobeyed Him--IDK if it's after a remorseful spirit--or/and it's JUST Him being merciful to those who aren't necessarily spiritually/mentally where He wants them [us] to be.

Matthew 7:22-23 says:Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
    23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

People do you see just how important it is to choose to Love rather than to hate; Forgive rather than to hold a grudge; You can see from Matthew 7:22-23 that even the church, who actually have the power & gifts of God will be cast into Hell, and this chapter shows why. So we see that you can be anointed and still be in danger off hell fire, or rather still not have a relationship with God because your heart never learned how to truly Love. So I say to everyone; match this chapter up to you. Your salvation depends on it. For the Saints: this chapter shows us that we only have part of God, and Matthew 7:22-23 shows us that part of God is not good enough.

Those who do the will of my Father are who do the works of God. God doesnt expect us to be obedient but to believe in the one whom He sent ( John 6:28-29)

the false prophets are people like the guy on topix posting himself as Prophet of Jesus Christ. This is just one example of people to watch out for. Once Saved Always Saved, Regular Church Attendance and membership,Alter Calls, Tithes, anything that someone makes you do to get to heaven is or should be considered a false prophet.

  • Fred neal on John 7:24 - 12 years ago
Even though we are not firemen, we can not sit by and let our neighbours house burn down without trying to help. As Christians, we need to help our brothers in Christ if and when we see their walk is weak or even wrong. We have to remember the sin in our own lives, repent from them, clean them up with the blood of Christ before we reprove or rebuke another brother, or sister. When Jesus said to not try and remove the mote from thy brothrers eye ( Matthew 7:5 ) before we remove the beam from our on eyes, He said "Then we can see clearly to remove the mote from thy brothers eye". Many people miss the last part of that verse. It is not that we judge not, but that we make sure there are no greater sins in our own lives before we judge another. Apostle paul said, He that is spiritual judgeth all things. We can not be Christians and not judge. We can not be THE judge and we dare not judge someones salvation. Thus, Judge not according to appearence, but judge righteous judgement

It is only God who knows whose ways are pleasing to Him. We cannot use our human knowledge to make conclusions about. The person we should really be judging is ourselves using the light of the word of God. If we judge others we may also be calling judgement upon ourselves as "with the same measure u use it shall be measured back to u...".
  • Andrew on Matthew 7:13 - 12 years ago
Listen to what the verse is saying. Understand that you can't go the way you choose but only one way. God's way is the only way and people get confused by all these so called bibles out there. I believe in the KJV only because men laid down their lives for the word of God. What other bible out in the world today can say that? All the money these bible companies make and yet our missionaries are going with out. God made it very clear in Revelations 22 :18-19 about other translations and yet hardly anybody cares. Always remember this, man has many gospels but God has only one gospel.

Yes I love this verse because it gives us hope faith and strength to know that, when we pray and believe; God is faithful to his word, all that we ask will come to pass. We need more patients because we sometimes fill that God is on our time but we fell to realize we are on his, yes we will reap the benefits and the harvest if we stand and faint not.
