1 Kings 16:31 31He not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, but he also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal and worship him. He above is Ahab. Don't listen to a Jezebel. She will steer thee wrong.

Antipas is the "faithful martyr" of Pergamos, one of the seven churches of the Apocalypse. Antipas was the bishop of Pergamos during the reign of Emperor Domitian in 83.

Nicolaitans. The doctrine of the Nicolaitans appears to have been a form of antinomianism, which makes the fatal mistake that man can freely partake in sin because the Law of God is no longer binding. It held the truth on the gratuitous reckoning of righteousness but supposed that a mere intellectual "belief" in this truth had a saving power.

During AM Bible Study I did a word search for "Nicolaitanes" through your website which said the word wasn't found. This word can be found in Revelation 2:6 2:15

Revelation 2:9 says there are people on earth who say they are Jews and are not but are liars. We know there are people in Israel who call themselves Jews. So if they are not the Jews then who are? Remember the Israelites were scattered all over the earth and I'm a so called African American and was brought here on ships. What's your take on this

I ve been a alcoholic for 40 years until I came to the knowledge Of The Message of the Cross! Even though I got saved at the age of 24 years old, I am now 69 years old and been free from alcoholism for for nine years! I ve tried everything until I learned Jesus already took care of it all on the cross, so now my Faith is completely and totally in Jesus Christ and him crucified.

The Bible as well as the book of Revelation serves as a book of victory and encouragement to true believers. Like today churches are full of people that are saved, unsaved and people that are self deceived or just plain evil. The letters to the churches were also written in a time of heavy persecution. These passages serve as assurance that God will reward Christians that persevere in trials.

Christ is still here walking in the churches, it is not wise for them to make excuses for sin, their duty is to the love of God, his truth, you do not cover the candle. They must repent.

  • James Gregory on Revelation 2 - 7 years ago
These people has left their first love , think of the first person that you loved , you wanted to be with them all the time and say and do the things that pleased them, all you could think about.it seems they had gotten busy with their own lives and wasn't as concerned with the things of God. They still loved God but had relaxed their beliefs.

Old St. Nick should not have taken over Jesus Birthday and His deity Jesus is the reason for the season. And not man according to Rev. 2:6-But for this thou hate the deed of Nicholas which the Lord hates. Note: commercialization the Christ. A male child was born to rule the nation with a Rod of iron in righteousness, this Child was the Christ, cough up to God and His Throne. So All gifts comes God

Anna (cont.); In the case of the Ephesians, it was apparently not love of the world or the things of the world that drew their hearts away; but maybe it was all the things that the Lord had blessed them with in their great victory and success and being without fault as to their religion? Daniel was also found perfect in everything pertaining to God; but he maintained the sacred inner life of love.

Hi Anna; Thank you for your thoughtful reply. The matter with the Ephesian Assembly was very important to have been named first in the warnings to the Christians against the imminent crisis set to bring about the completion of this age. In those who were by all measures first and leaders and exercising all piety among the Saints, "losing sight of and desire for our First Love" is inexcusable!
  • Anna on Revelation 2 - 8 years ago
A disciple: "How could their hearts have grown cold towards Jesus?" We can stop to study ourselves. The love of this world does this doesn't it. But what does that mean? How can we study ourselves in this matter? We must be awakened to this sin. We often seek thanks and awe from the world, we seek monetary and material riches, pride, garment ourselves in latest fashions and jewels.....

Annwashi1955; Hebrews 12:2 LOOKING UNTO JESUS! We are taught by the Lord, and all His servants, that we are set to encounter tribulation, temptations, opposition and contradiction, from the world, the flesh, and the devil. The only way for us to walk in constant victory and a good conscience toward God, is by an earnest contending through the Spirit, out of a deeply established heart for Jesus.
  • A disciple on Revelation 2 - 8 years ago
To Irene from 3 months ago, Jeremiah 6; All of the churches were "salvageable" otherwise the Lord wouldn't have sent to speak to them to repent! Ephesus was in danger of being removed altogether of her place even as a Lampstand for the Lord because they forgot their first love! So what good then will be all their activities? Laodicea was rich in this world, luke warm, stupid and blind spiritually.
  • A disciple on Revelation 2 - 8 years ago
We have no real comparison today to the Church in Ephesus, as far as importance and leadership among the Churches. It looks like they were just perfect in their religious activities, and nothing to be blamed, but the Lord points to their fault as so serious, that He is about to remove them from being His light bearers in the world. How could their hearts have grown cold toward Jesus?

The white stone is not the stone of the Christian church. The foundation of the Christian church is, Jesus is savior. This white stone has the name of the Son of Man, not the son of God, written as savior = religion of Israel. They call the son of their God, their false bloodline christ, a killer, the rod of iron is a rifle. Jesus does not kill, he never breaks GODs law not to kill.
