Brother Jerry, I agree that the disciples DID NOT change the Sabbath Day from Saturday to Sunday.

This kind of false doctrine is preached far and wide today.....by "make you feel good pastors" meaning pastors that are more interested in expanding their church membership=more money for them.

The path to heaven is narrow and the gate small....wide is the highway to hell.....don't believe me...read the scripture.

Matthew 7:13

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:"

Matthew 7:14

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Don't depend on men...they will lead you astray...read and understand the Bible scripture for yourself. Pray that the Holy Sprit will help you understand!

Hey Don, if I may add to Chris and Jesse I hope you do not mind, everyone was looking for the Messiah to set up the kingdom then. Even the twelve apostles, no one knew he was going to be crucified even though Jesus told them several times, it was hidden from them, even Satan did not know the purpose of the crucifixion. When Jesus was resurrected the disciples still did not believe until Jesus appeared to them but they still asked Him if He was to set up the kingdom then. Acts 1:6 When they, therefore, were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

If Satan had known he would have stopped the crucifixion because that would have stopped the plan of Satan's demise. 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. The reason was fulfilling prophecy. Mark.4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

They were told the time when the Messiah would come in Daniel 9:25 but their time was up. and the old covenant was to be fulfilled and the new was not yet revealed. Jesus came the first time for the lost sheep of Israel and only the chosen by God was shown Jesus was the Messiah the Christ.

All the others, Matthew 13: 14-16 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

May 1, 2021. Let everyone that knows the Glory of God, get into the word day to day for His Strength, Protection, and Love. For in these days we will surly need it. As our world goes faster and faster we will be rushing and worrying much. But to sit down and see the best in your life now, is a must to survive what this world of evilness will become. Get into Revelation reading. See each warning He showed us. Remember His promises. Never forget them. For no matter how bad it will get, your Heavenly Father will shine His Light upon you. His Son will come down fast with His Angels when we least expect it. He will fight for His children no matter how we had suffered. No matter how we are in that day, we will forget all the pain and suffering we went through as we see it all unfold as in the Word of the Bible comes clear to us at that moment. So now what do you do till that day comes upon us? You keep the Faith. You do good unto others, but most important you show and tell others that feel hopeless, about our awesome God that Loved us so much, He gave His only begotten Son to suffer and shed His blood for us, to be able in those days to come straight to His Father. Now this l just wrote is an awaking from my Father to write today. For our days are numbered. Do you understand now there is no more putting off. Just go after the Word. Learn, and be ready to be a warrior for our God....

I agree the Sabbath for Christians is Saturday, and always has been.....from the creation of this world.

Man cannot add or subtract any of the 10 commandments.

This world is evil, and there are many false religions teaching others to ignore or minimize the commandments of God.

For those out there that believe they can ignore the 4th commandment, what don't you believe in the verse's below that came straight from Christ's mouth:

John 14:21

"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."

Matthew 5:17

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

Matthew 5:18

"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

Most Christians are very aware of the above stated verses....but they minimize them, because reverend so and so said this, or that, and I hear all kinds of excuse's that we can ignore this commandment or that commandment, including because Apostle Paul said this or that. Man can read the bible and twist words to mean anything that might suit their agenda.

We need to believe what Jesus said in the bible, he is speaking the words of "His Father".

John 12:49

"For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak."

John 12:50

"And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak."

Living life today, while respecting God's commandment's my be an inconvenience for all of us - at times.....but we need to strive to follow Christ, just as Christ followed his Fathers Laws. Are we any better than Christ?

If you people don't think that the devil will trick or treat you than you are sadly mistaken because he will that is his job to trick you and to deceive you. This vaccine has a chip in it that has made by Bill Gates it will show your bank account your life history. They will scan it and enter your name and the computer will connect the chip to your government files. So with this being said the devil will deceive you by any means he can. In about three years Biden will issue an order that all Americans get the vaccine. If you refuse to be vaccinated you will not be able to sell are buy with out the chip in your hand are your forehead. This writing of the Apostle Paul is so true of today; women working that which is against nature, and men drawn by their lust toward one another. This is a sign of the end time. Those that in their heart knowing what God has ordained for man they look for ways to please themselves not God, because don't believe in God. Searching out ways to stop the mouths of Christians due to the fact it convicts them of sin and seeking others to run with them and do the will of the flesh and walk into Satan's plan for destruction of man kind who was created in the image of God and for His pleasure. Oh how close the day of the Rapture is for those who are looking for His, (Jesus') appearing. Even so come, Lord Jesus...

S Spencer, There is no proof in Acts that the disciples changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. The meeting with the disciples in chapter 20 was a one time event. The church was not born there: but the church of God was purchased by the blood of Christ; verse 28. I have not been able to find anywhere in the KJV scripture, the phrase "The Lord's Day" being used to describe the Sabbath Day.

S Spencer...Are we not sojourners and grafted in with the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL ? Maybe some of us are direct descendants. The 10 commandments are eternal creation covenants made by our Creator, which preceded the complete formation of the Nation of Israel, and nothing in the New Testament abolishes any of the 10 commandments. Many of the ordinances, laws, and punishments yes: but NONE of the all encompassing 10 commandments. I have been through many of the same arguments that you give from Paul's writings. If I did agree with you that his writings abolished ANY of the 10 commandments; then I would be listening to man and not God Almighty. So in closing, I will ask you not to judge me in Remembering the weekly sabbath day (the 7th day), and to keep it Holy as instructed by the LORD my God. Additionally, The Messiah Yeshua Hamashiach instructs me in John 14; 15 that if I love Him, I will keep His commandments: and John 15; 10: showing that He always keeps His Father's commandments. Lastly I will no longer recognize pagan holidays such as ishtar/easter, or Nimrod's "christmas". I will do my best to learn and celebrate Biblical Holy Days such as Passover and the Feasts. Yes Chris, and great thoughts indeed! I'm sure everything was all part of God's perfect plan and timing. It still amazes me how when Jesus rode into Jerusalem that the Jews still didn't know that He was their Messiah. Luke mentions the fact that when Jesus rode into Jerusalem and wept over Jerusalem, He told them that "If you had only known this your day, you would not have rejected me."

So if somebody had a calendar going, they would have said "Hey, today is 173,880 day. Messiah is supposed to be here!" But they missed it, and Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the very day God had planned. Yes, we do have to wonder why Jesus couldn't have proved Himself to be their Messiah. We know He had the power to do so. Certain things just can't be answered I guess. Well, it's off to bed for me. Jesus was dead on the Sabbath day. It was on the first day of the week that He came forth from the dead. And when we turn to the resurrection account in the Gospel of Matthew (which was written primarily to Israel), it opens with:

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week. Matthew 28:1.

"At the end of the sabbath" - not just the end of a day, but the end of keeping the Sabbath day - "it began to dawn toward the first day of the week." That is tremendous!

Pentecost - The Church Was Born

Then we turn to the Book of Acts, and there we read that the church was born - and not on a Sabbath day, but on the Lord's Day, the first day of the week. Notice Acts 2:1:

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come.

What does the Bible mean by "fully come"? Does it mean when the sun had come up? No.

It means "When the day of Pentecost [and all of which it spoke] was come." That which Pentecost had symbolized in the Old Testament is now come. It was the first day of the week, the only first day of the week Israel ever observed - for they observed seven Sabbath days after Passover, and then the day following the seventh Sabbath was Pentecost:

On that day the Holy Spirit came!

On that day the church was born!

Proof they worshiped on a Sunday.

Acts 20:7. And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

1 Corinthians 16:2. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

I agree with Adam, we worship all the days of our lives.

Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among " HIS PEOPLE".

Wherefore the ""CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.""shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout ""THEIR""generations, for a perpetual covenant.

Do you noticed he never gave that commandment to the rest of the world?

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

LET NO MAN THEREFORE JUDGE YOU IN MEAT, OR IN DRINK, OR IN RESPECT OF AN HOLYDAY, OR OF THE NEW MOON, OR OF THE SABBATH DAYS:

Hi Jesse. I do agree, as we see in Mark 1:41-45, that the people thronged Him & probably for the wrong reasons & this forced Jesus to withdraw from them & pursue the Father's Will in His Way & His Timing.

I also see the oft used phrase, "My hour is not yet come" (as seen in John 2:1-5: Wedding at Cana; John 7:1-9: when urged to present Himself; John 7:25-30 & John 8:20: when about to be arrested). It seems that all Jesus' miracles, His talks, even the places He went to, were directed by His Father according to the Plan laid out for Him. The Plan being, that certain things had to happen (not sooner or later) for the duration of those 33 years He lived on Earth. Even though He was encouraged by His Mother, brethren & disciples to do more miracles or take advantage of the crowds that gathered, Jesus knew that the time appointed to Him would be violated by doing so & that all that was necessary for Him to do during those years were foreordained for a reason. And so He could finally exclaim: "that His hour had come" ( Mark 14:41, John 17:1) when He knew that His Work on Earth was nearing completion, culminating at the Cross.

I wonder whether by making Himself more prominent or proving Himself as the Messiah in a greater more dynamic way, would have thwarted the Plan of God for His Life (from the cradle to the cross) and therefore would fail to bring on the full & proper results as the Father had ordained. Just a few thoughts to add to yours, Jesse.

Genesis 5:4 "And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:"

According to this verse Adam begat multiple sons and daughters. Eventually, one of these daughters met up with Cain and married him.

Isaiah 53:10 "Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand."

According to this verse, it was the Messiah's soul (or life; Hebrew word is nephesh) that was made an offering for sin.

Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

According to this verse, the life (or soul; Hebrew word is nephesh) is in the blood. Therefore, by shedding his blood, the Messiah shed his perfect life (or soul) to atone for the sin of mankind.

Thanks Carleton. Another great story of how the Lord moves in both the unsaved & witnessing Christian to bring about the salvation of the lost. What we might think as of little consequence in sharing our lives or time with another, can reap mighty results in the Hands of God. This story should renew our desire to share whatever we can, however mediocre, for the blessing of others.

Replying to Adam: I agree with most of your statements, but I must agree with Brian that the sabbath day is to be remembered and kept holy; therefore the specific gathering day for corporate worship is extremely important. Otherwise Lord God would not have made it one of the all encompassing 10 commandments. I also agree with Bryan that the sabbath day was changed by Constantine, while trying to unite pagans and Christians. May God bless and keep you and yours.

Why would he kill his brothers?

"the Hope"; v.6 = Do not apply modern definitions and applications concerning hope from the human perspective (e.g. Ac. 27:20; 1Thes. 4:13) to that DIVINE Hope which GOD instills within believers.

Man bases his hope on using his intelligence and personal abilities to manipulate his environmental resources to bring into reality that which he desires based on chance, possibility, and probability (cp. Ac. 16:19; 27:20). Man often attributes "hope" to the vain superstitions of fate or luck.

In contrast, DIVINE Spiritual Hope is a sure, yet future reality for which saints wait with eager anticipation because GOD has promised and guarantees its fulfillment.

Hope includes DIVINE, guaranteed realities such as

+ Righteousness ( Gal. 5:5),

+ Eternal Life ( Tit. 1:2; 3:7),

+ our Resurrection from the dead (Ac. 23:6; 24:15; 1Pet. 1:3),

+ our future home in Heaven ( Col. 1:5), and

+ our expectation of the blessed eschatological event of CHRIST's Second Coming (1Thes. 2:19; Tit. 2:13).

GOD is The SOURCE of the saint's hope for HE is "The GOD of hope" ( Rom. 15:13). LORD JESUS CHRIST personifies hope for HE is

+ "our HOPE" ( 1Tim. 1:1),

+ "the HOPE of Glory" ( Col. 1:27), and

+ "that Blessed HOPE" for WHOM the saints "look for the Glorious Appearing of The Great GOD and our SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST" ( Tit. 2:13).

The expectation of the sure reality of hope fulfilled in and through LORD JESUS CHRIST encourages the saints and Church to patiently persevere with "hope firm unto the end" ( Heb. 3:6; 6:11; 1Pet. 1:13).

A woman in our bible study group asked: whay are the gifts of the Spirit? Who in the Bible show us an example of each gift of the Spirit being used?
