So why, in Gen. 3:13, "the serpent beguiled me..." - Strong's Concordance: seduced.

Gen. 3:15, "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between THY SEED and HER SEED....."

Gen. 3:16, "I (GOD speaking to Eve) will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception..."

Adam didn't "know" his wife until Gen. ch.4.

    Eric,

Good for you, reading carefully and asking questions.

Sometimes a great number of people pay dearly for the sin of one or a few. Look what happened when Achan sinned at Jericho and several thousand died at Ai because of Achan.

Keep in mind, this time is under the Old Covenant and we are under the New Covenant. Most of the Old Testament was written TO the people of Israel. However it was written FOR us.

"Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come." 1Co 10:11

Yes, the history of Israel is a cycle repeated many times over:

    Israel serves The LORD,

Israel falls into sin and idolatry,

    Israel is enslaved,

Israel cries out to The LORD,

    God raises up a deliverer,

    Israel is delivered.

Look for it as you read.

    Vince,

"These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground." Gen 2:4-5

If there were just 3 days, why would the text state, "and there was not a man to till the ground." Sometimes its weeks before I get out into my garden to till the ground. Why would it be of significance if no one was there for 3 days?

Furthermore, after observing and naming the animals, that includes observing that all the animals had mates, male and female and observing what the mating process resulted in, it was then that Adam realized that there had not been a mate in all of creation for him. It was after this process that God fashions Eve from Adam's rib. And Adam's response was, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man," where "is now" is has the sense of "now, finally, at last" after all this time observing and naming the animals, I have found a mate. God said "IT IS NOT GOOD FOR THE MAN TO BE ALONE," because it was a significant period of time that he had been alone!

I agree that God planned the whole thing before the foundation of the world. He had cast out Lucifer, and those who agreed with him, to earth and then put man right in Lucifer's crosshairs. The Godhead had already planned redemption for Adam and his race.

Signs of a Gracious Loving God, to redeem enemies of God. That answers the original question.

The persistence of memory. That voice needs to be caged. Once in a while, I will remember a beloved dog I owned, and feel my heart double pump.

I found a scientific solution, you will laugh, but it works: If I gently tap, with my left hand fingers (slap), the top front, left side of my head, a 2" wide x 3" back section from hairline, and lightly tap my head 10 times, the vibration of my skull manipulates the brain waves, freeing me of the thought. The taps stimulate analytical left brain, shutting down right brain creativity. I'll be giving a presentation at the Cleveland Clinic next week.....Ah haha. Don't knock yourself out.
  • Mishael - In Reply on 1 Samuel 4 - 5 years ago
There is a sort of HARMONY amongst the books of Samuel, Chronicles and Kings.

It's very tedious, but read through all 3 ( underline or take notes); one after another.

You'll see where more information to a certain event, adds more information from the other books.

Bibles that have a reference column in the CENTER of each page: you'll see tiny alphabet letters to match it to a center column reference to another passage in the Bible. Those help explain events.

I find that the King James Bibles are most likely to have that kind of referencing system.

The Book of Genesis sort of goes forward and jumps backward. Use of the reference Bibles helps to keep you straight. I don't ask the Lord why that is. I just pay attention more to where it's going. I love mysteries! This keeps me on my toes.

  • Keeping Our Eyes On GodFree Will - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 5 years ago
We have need to always remember that God created us with free will.

There is Gods perfect will towards us; and then there is our human will. As long as we seek the perfect will of God (according to the Word of God), our lives are pleasant and full of peace.

When our eyes and ears stray over to the "voice of this world", is when we get out of step with the Perfect Will of God. We're told to keep our eyes on Him. Only read prophesy in the Bible.

There are so many voices in the world right now that are demanding attention and allegiance to their causes. That's how we are able to perceive that Gods End time purpose is advancing.

There's a scripture that says, "Awake Sleeper.."

The only way to know what is advancing is to study faithfully, Gods Word. Do the things the Lord says to do, to be ready for the next planet-wide event (Caught Up in the Clouds).

Some people try to downplay that reality. Don't be led astray. Read the parable Jesus taught about the TEN VIRGINS. Oil is the joy of the Spirit and Lanterns are the Light of Revelation given to us by Christ. No matter the spins people teach on scripture: you know yourself what it says and means for us today.

Never be afraid to speak up and warn some folk that have heard something different.

Jesus said to Be Looking For Him. Our hope keeps our view upward, like an eagle: instead of pointed at the dirt like prairie chickens. They don't see the Chicken hawk that is about to make a lunch out of them.

The way world governments and world politics are leaning, linking up, taking away our freedoms; forcing us to pay taxes for their ridiculous programs; is a thermometer to keep your eye on. Don't be fooled. Be ready to go WITH JESUS.

Don't trust national news. Branch out: Epoch Times, Jerusalem Post. Check stories against scripture. Don't be lied to by media groups.

    Be wise.

    Mishael

    Lisa,

If God wrote a "tell all book" revealing every mystery, it would draw the same response as the KJV. The majority of people would go their own way, and the minority would seek the Lord with all their heart.

Isaiah 24:4-5 Describes the conditions of the earth after the beast has taken Babylon, and 3 nations of his own confederacy. Look further down, it is devastating. Isaiah 24:19-20

Ephesians 6:12 This is true. We fight against powerful rulers of darkness: Governments, Bavarian Illuminati, Freemasons, Jesuits and all of their ghastly traditions.

The media outlets are owned by 5 Ashkenazi Jews, they are inherently sinister, practice sorceries. They script fake news we live by.

"The bible is a puzzle due to the deception of adding & removing words since the roman council nicea of 325 AD" You have to carefully read the Bible and use other like scriptures to assess the story. However altered, it's what we got.

The 2nd stick in Ezekiel 37:16 "Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:"

Depicts both houses of Israel coming together ever since the Salomon split, and in a new heaven, earth. This is after the 1,000 year reign of Christ, because ONLY the house of Israel are resurrected as 1st fruits of Christ. Let the Mormon church use the story.

Daniel 12:4 The Holy Spirit increases knowledge in conjunction with the time line. 200 years ago you couldn't discern the prophets like we can today. The 5-6-7th trumpets, which are separate from the first four, and made for this generation.

I had skipped this chapter by accident. I thought God or Christ said Eli and his household will pay for their sin and not the 34,000 men who died in battle. Sounds like one chapter talks about Israel doing evil then the other back to God's grace. This is hard to follow sometimes.

I'm glad you admit that your statement is your belief and really it is. I like to keep my postings shot so as not to bore the reader/s.

Can you please look again and see that God told Adam to name the animals so as to put him to sleep in order to remove Adam's rib to make Eve. Also, the Bible states that everything, including Adam and Eve, were created in six (6) days. It was 6 evenings and mornings to show a 24 hour period.

God said "IT IS NOT GOOD FOR THE MAN TO BE ALONE." So Adam was never alone for a whole day. The whole story shows that God arranged the whole thing to go exactly the way it went. Where was God when the whole conversation between Eve and the serpent was taking place?

I'll wait for your answer in your next post so we can share our understanding of this very important topic in which there are so many misunderstandings. Please reply. God bless you

Darren ,yes you are correct about memories ,i think this is one of the reasons faith is sooo important ,we have to belive 100 per cent that our sins are forgiven ,if we dont we can drive ourselves crazy with guilt ,i havent murdered anyone but before i was baptized i did a few things im very ashamed of ,knowing that i have been forgiven helps me not to torture myself over them ,also we remember all the times others have sinned against us ,i find its usually quite easy to forgive but the memory of the hurt some one has caused me can still be painfull even after ive forgiven them ,i have to make a conscieous effort to put past sins out of my mind ,those that i have commited and those that were done to me ,ive been forgiven and i have forgiven but sometimes the scars still sting a bit !

    Vince,

You asserted, "There is no way Adam could have had full knowledge of death because he was just 3 days old."

You cannot support this absurd allegation. Adam had 1) observed ALL the animals God had created and then he 2) named EACH animal according to the observations he had made.

I Believe this was most likely YEARS after his creation. He would have seen carnivorous animals, seen death both natural death and death by attack. When God said to him, in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die, Adam knew what that meant after he spent time with God's creation.

This was a test. Didn't matter if Adam knew of the Tree of Life. He had ONE prohibition that he failed to keep over a relatively short period of time. So they both disregarded God's instructions and the world plunged into chaos.

But God already had a plan to save mankind.

Furthermore, Paul declared that such prohibitions directly insulted GOD WHO considered all HIS creatures "good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is Sanctified by the Word of GOD and prayer" (vv. 4-5).

In summation, the Apostles including Apostle Paul, were in complete agreement over the reality that nothing was inherently unclean for dietary consumption. The only prohibition was consuming the animal's blood described in the expression, "we (the apostles) write unto them, that they abstain from things strangled, and from blood" (Ac. 15:20 & 29). Eating an animal killed by strangulation meant no blood was shed during the killing and the preparation process for eating which permitted the blood to coagulate within the blood vessels.
  • Philip Christian Parks on Romans 14 - 5 years ago
there is nothing unclean of itself; v.14 = The adjective "unclean" is the same word as "common" in Peter's protest to The LORD: "I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean" (Ac. 10:14). Review the full footnote under verse two.

Yet, Paul fully knew that believers came to their own conclusions based simply on their erroneous individual assumptions and personal preferences rather than on in-depth doctrinal comprehension and wisdom.

Paul may well have been familiar with The LORD's discourse with the scribes and Pharisees over the trivial matter of eating without first washing their hands before handling their food. To this criticism, The LORD replied they hypocritically adhered to false "commandments of men" and enforced them as "doctrines" ( Mt. 15:9).

Here ( Rom. 14:14), the adjective "unclean" describes anything Jewish converts to Christianity might deem ceremonially defiled, thus prohibiting its ceremonial use or consumption. This "uncleanness" included not only the unclean animals prohibited in the Mosaic Laws, but also any meat sold in the markets that idolators previously dedicated to pagan idol deities.

Paul, through DIVINE Inspiration, instructed Christian believers not to consider this meat unclean for dietary consumption. To avoid needless personal concern regarding the meat's prior history, Paul simply instructed, "Whatsoever is sold in the shambles {meat markets}, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake" ( 1Cor. 10:25).

Additionally, in the context of First Timothy Chapter Four (vv. 1-5), Paul condemned any false religion which enforced man-made commandments "to abstain from meats, which GOD hath created to be received with thanksgiving (v.3). Such prohibitions were based on demonic "seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (v.1).

Dr. Wade, first I'm sure you will hear several answers on the daughters, from me would be speculation.

When Jesus came, He came for only the lost sheep of Israel to fulfill the first covenant and confirm the new covenant. Matthew 15:24.Jesus was fulfilling the old covenant so they obeyed the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the seventh day and man does not have the authority to change it. If we worship on a Sunday we still can not call it the Sabbath. Some call it the Lords Day for resurrection day. We are to worship in Spirit John 4:24, any day of the week or all. The Sabbath is also in the law.

Rom. 14:4-6 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth, not and giveth God.

The division started with Constantine's Sunday law and the penalties came down at Laodicea. The two reasons I am aware of, the Roman and Greek pagan religion festivals and worship were on Sunday and they used these days to introduce Christian holidays. The other, many Christians were meeting on the Sabbath along with the Jews and they did not want them to.

Gal.3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

If said the commandments of God is the Law, including the 10, if we try to be justified by them we are "a debtor to do the whole law". We are to be obedient in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. May God bless, Ron

    Sacha,

Good choice. Unless you're a scholar in Hebrew, and I am surely NOT, having the Hebrew is of little value.

I occasionally read stuff that refers to Hebrew characters' numeric value and so on those rare occasions, I'll open my Hebrew to see those characters or words. BTW, a Strongs Concordance, also in my eSword app, can help a lot!

Here are a few instances that I've found interesting and inspiring.

Abram and Sarai-God changed each of their names by adding the Hebrew character Heh (think breath). He breathed into each of them.

Rahab tells the spies to hide 3 days, helps them escape using a rope (word connoting sorrow) and arranges to identify her family with a scarlet cord (word connoting hope). Christ died and rise the third day ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES.

Solomon's laver, 10 cubits across and 30 cubits around, ratio is 3 vs 3.14159. 1Ki 7:23; 2Cr 4:2. The Hebrew word fir circumference is spelled two different ways and the numerical difference in the Hebrew characters gives a solution that is correct to 3 decimal places compared to using pi.
  • SkipVought - In Reply on Psalms 138 - 5 years ago
Actually there was no single book call The Bible until around 300 AD.

Adam, Abraham, Moses, David all lived before Christ, BC, when much of the writings were on scrolls. Moses wrote 5 scrolls: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

As time went on, the holy men, the priests and Levites, identifies writings that seemed like they might be classified as Holy Scripture, and put them aside to test them. And here's the test they gave these writings.

"And the LORD said unto me [Moses],

'They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.'"Deu 18:17-22

The priests and Levites considered that the writings of Enoch and many other writings that today are referred to as the Apocrypha, did NOT pass the test that God gave to Moses. Consequently, they are not in The Bible, the canon of Sacred Inspired writings.

"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2Pe 1:21
