Dear Richard, Amen!

There is only one Gospel. I truly believe that the infallible rule of interpreting scripture is that scripture interprets itself. All we can do is share our own understanding. We are all fallible human beings capable of misunderstanding. What scares me the most when I share my knowledge with people is that I might mislead someone by what I share, because in the back of my mind, I know I could be wrong. And that is a scary thought knowing that I will be held accountable for everything I share, even if I think "I know."

But you gotta love Paul. He was even bold enough to say that if anyone preached any other gospel than that which I have preached, let him be accursed. How can he make such a bold claim? I believe that it is because he was taught personally by Jesus Christ Himself for three years out in the Arabian Desert. You can't get any better teaching than that. Paul never contradicts what Jesus taught.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I Hope that helps

If the serpent impregnated Eve, the devil would have scolded Jesus Christ about being 'of the devil'. He didn't. There is no mention of this in the Bible. It never happened.

The answer I would give you is that the universal church is not an organization or a specific denomination, The universal church is made up of all believers who have been born of God's Spirit. The purpose of the church is to worship God and serve Him.

Here is what brings me to my conclusion:

Genesis 2:7 from the Septuagint translated into English says, "and the God molded man from the dust of the land and (breathed into) his face the breath of life and man became into a living soul."

Ezekiel 37:9 from the Greek Septuagint says, "and He said to me "Prophesy son of man, prophesy over the Spirit and tell the Spirit "Thus says The Lord, come out of the four spirits and (breathe into) these dead let them live!"

The prepositional phrase EIS is used in both Genesis 2:7 and Ezekiel 37:9.

There is a specific action taking place in both those verses. The preposition EIS is used with the accusative case in both Genesis 2:7 and Ezekiel 37:9. What that means to me is that it points to the object of verbal action. When I see the prepositional phrase EIS with the accusative, I believe it should be translated by using terms such as into, unto, to, toward, etc. A specific action.

But in John 20:22, the prepositional phrase EIS is not used in that verse in the Textus Receptus. That is why I don't believe the English translation is correct when it says He breathed on them. There's nothing in the Greek text to indicate that action was taken. It should read He breathed in. I see it as Jesus taking a deep breath before saying receive ye the Holy Ghost.

But John 20:22 does not tell us that they received the Holy Ghost.

I do agree that the Holy Spirit fell on many in Acts Chapter 2. But I don't see any indication that anyone had received the Holy Spirit before Christ's ascension into heaven. That is what I was getting at. I believe that salvation takes place once God's Spirit (Holy Spirit) enters into a person, not before.

What I was referring to was that while Jesus was here on this earth, I don't believe anyone had received the Holy Spirit yet. In Acts Chapter 2, yes! This would have been after Christ ascended into heaven.

Hi Skip, hope you don't mind, I agree with your "wonder to the angels". I have not read anywhere in scripture that angels will be replaced. In Matt. 25:41 we read the lake of fire was prepared for Satan (devil) and his angels and like everything else, most likely before the foundation of the world, the plan of God. We read in Job1:6 Job 2:1 Satan still has access to heaven, Satan and God are having a conversation about Job. We also see God puts restrictions on Satan.

I Luke.10:18 we read Jesus saw Satan fall as lightning from heaven.

In Revelation 12:10 we read the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down. Satan did not fall in Revelation 12, he was cast out of heaven "neither was their place found any more in heaven". We also see in Revelation 12:11 the reason they were able to cast Satan out. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony"; This shows this is at least after the crucifying of Jesus, more likely in the future. Also, in Revelation 12, it is permanent, they are rejoicing in heaven Satan will no longer have access to heaven. When Satan is cast out down to earth he gives his power to the beast in Revelation 13.

In the Bible, we can read angels left their first estate and their own habitation and are locked in chains of darkness until judgment day. Jude 1:6 and 2Pet.2:4. Some scriptures say there are demons, evil spirits on the earth, and how they got here there is little information in the Bible how. You have to go outside the Bible and compile a bushel of speculations and pick one but be careful.

Some things are not answered by scriptures but do not affect our salvation. The things we do need are in bold print.

The fall of mankind originated from Adam and Eve disobeying God.

As such, God set the precedence for man to be mortal, and die.

Isaiah 55:11 supports God's character and statutes, but I don't need that to understand what happened between God, Adam & Eve, or the serpent. I take God by his Word.

This holds true for everything God utters.

When we die, where do our souls go to? Do they go straight to Heaven or Hell or they are floating around waiting for the coming of the Lord?

I agree that there were NOT two gospels, one for Jews and another for Gentiles, but ONE gospel encapsulated in 1 Cor 15:3-4.

Acts is not a particularly good place to ground fundamental doctrine, which is where some go to justify, baptismal regeneration and "The Apostles" gospel for instance.

Hello Skip, My next comment for the subject at hand. In the garden, Adam was at rest. Even though the possibility of eating of the forbidden fruit in the knowledge of good and evil existed and that the garden had present the crafty serpent that seemed to only have the power of suggestion and no other power, free choice reigned. Rest was there, peace and goodness was there and it was good.

That's like asking, "Where is the number five?" God does not have a location unless He lowers Himself to take on human form in His creation of space, time and matter, which He did when walking with Adam in the cool of the day. Most likely this was the pre-incarnate Christ.

You've make a significant assumption that the seventh day was a 24 hour day, just as the first six.

1) No evening and morning.

2) "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief." Heb 4:9-11

Just as God ceased His work of creation on day 7, when we enter His rest, it too is unceasing. We are in the seventh day until Christ returns.

3) Although God has ceased His work of creation, He has been WORKING until the return of Christ.

BTW, I agree with you (and have an active post on this) that His plan, before the foundation of the world, was for Lucifer to confront Adam and that Adam would rebel and that God Himself would become a man in order to redeem mankind but not the fallen angels.

As I understand you stating that the true experience, receiving the Holy Ghost, had not happened yet as we see in Acts 2 with the Holy Ghost coming upon them in Jerusalem.

Although I must ask where you have heard "He breathed on them" literally says "He breathed in"? The translation from the Greek is quite accurate. As the Greek word "emphusao" means "to blow or breath upon or to blow at".

I myself believe that is when they did receive the Holy Ghost personally from the Lord. In Acts 2 it states "they were all filled with the Holy Ghost". Having that amazing experience. Not stating that is where they received it. I believe that is the first place that they felt or experienced the power of the Holy Ghost. In my understanding.

I hope my statement only brings us together. As only God knows exactly when the Holy Ghost entered them.

Though I believe many of you on here would agree with me on this. I feel there may be some that are a bit confused on this matter. There is only ONE Gospel of Christ. No matter who preached it or who it was preached to. Christ is not divided.

I understand how some may think Paul had his "own" gospel. Which is not true. Of coarse everyone is unique and special in the Lord in there own way God made them. All are special and unique in the body of Christ.

What I would like to share is the three places Paul states "my gospel". Twice in Romans once in 2 Timothy. When reading these verses in the Textus Receptus all three verses have the same three words that they translate to "my gospel" in English. Which can lead to this confusing I totally understand. The three Greek words are, in English, "the, gospel, of me". "Of" is the expression or indication between things. Paul and the Gospel of Christ he preached.

The comment I'm about to make here is going to be a shock as it was a shock for me too when it was revealed to me after years of careful studying and praying.

Here goes.

In Genesis ch.1, we have GOD. Ch.2 gives us ADAM and EVE which happens to be the only 2 people God ever created (that's another topic). In ch.3, we now have a 4th character, the serpent. Keep in mind that God is putting all His 3 created characters together in a location of His creation, THE GARDEN OF EDEN..

In this garden God said to Adam, "THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL," and "YOU SHALL SURELY DIE." Now look In the book of ISAIAH 55:11, God said, "NO WORD SHALL LEAVE MY MOUTH AND RETURN VOID." The words EVIL and DIE left HIS mouth, and we can see today that those words has been with us from then till now and will be to the end.

The point I'm making is, God created the world good and He puts in it His parameters for learning and understanding. Are you understanding me so far?
