With all due respect, my authority is the Holy Scriptures specifically the Original African Heritage Edition KJV. (Not excluding other translations). I measure everything else written using this Bible as my truth.

Of course there is much one can learn from other written materials in any field of study but something as serious as the subject we are discussing...adding to or replacing is not something I want to venture into. God our creator preceded all of the writers of the past, present and future. His words are what I stand on and base my life on and through the shedding of the blood of His Son Jesus Christ I have been saved.

If God says it, I have enough faith to believe it. If He didn't say it or it isn't written through Him, I have to question it.

(5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Many false prophets shall come in His name (using the name "Jesus") saying that "I am the Christ"....that is, they come preaching "another Jesus" and state that the Jesus that they are preaching is the true Christ.

They come preaching "another Jesus" stating that their Jesus is the true Christ (I am the Christ) and deceive the many who gladly bear with them.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4 KJV

(3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

(4) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

But the "Jesus" that they preach is not the true Christ but is the "Antichrist"...instead of the true Christ.

Do you ever think about your life in these days? How close we are to losing our life faster then before. As the trees come down we will see more of God's creations die. So what does that mean? The less of God's creations our strength is harder to get. Unless you study and pray for our Heavenly Father to help us. Do not straddle the fence. Do not stop seeing day to day how God can take you away as we take His creations down. The sprays- the pollution..all killing us now slowly..or the silent virus that comes in a wink of an eye to get us. His warriors are struggling as we fight the evilness this world has become. We know now we live day to day. Never knowing without God close we would be gone in a wink of our eye. We most totally rely on our Father. Even our air we breathe. This world has turned way worse then l ever studied in 2012. Lies and deceit everywhere. Our God is our strength. Mankind our enemy. The evilness will show up right away if you have the light for strength around you to see. For everything will be exposed to you. Days going faster now-- have you noticed? Have you slowed down enough to really see the truth of our world now? Well, you should. Our life can end as fast as it began. So reach up to the Heavens always...not the world.

I appreciate your message. I found in my travels another understanding by a woman who wrote a paperback of Psalms 91. She described Gods call to his children in the face of danger as a mother hen. A mother hen will cluck warnings to her chicks and they respond by running to mom's call. Once they reach mom she will lift her feathers so that every last chick jumps in and is covered. Mom will keep that open until every last chick finds safety. I hope that resonates a sense of security as it does for me.

Since the Bible does not use the actual man-made names of the week such as Saturday and Sunday....How can we be sure what day is the first, second or any other day as established by our creator?

The word "seed" in Daniel 2:43 is a very unique Aramaic word, in that, it is only used once in the entire Scriptures. It does not refer to a seed of grain, or a seed for natural birth, ie; a seed for mammal, reptile, or fowl reproduction. This "seed" is unique. Possibly the hidden seed found in DNA. Mixing the DNA of God's creation to make a new creation would be the only abominable sin that would make desolate. Hence, the term "the Abomination that makes desolate" used in Dan 11:31, Dan 12:11. Satan's copy of God's creation. This abominable creation is doomed to hell because it will not be born of water (natural birth) and therefore cannot be "Born Again" it would make it desolate. To Mickey on Matthew 22. I would love to know exactly where in God's Word it talks about being "raptured". You even give a when, where, etc. and what comes after this rapture. I suggest you do prayerful research on this subject, where you'll not find a"rapture" in God's written word. Look up Margaret McDonold. I will. I believe the date was 1844.

Joseph, if I could add to those excellent advice given by Hogan, on spending time with the Lord in prayer & in His Word.

As we walk out into a new day armed with the Word & the richness of a prayer time with your Father, we must seek out opportunities that will allow the Spirit of God to move amongst others. We know that the Holy Spirit moves over many hearts to "reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement" ( Jn 16:8), but He mostly works through us who have experienced forgiveness of sins & have a new hope & new life.

So whether you're at work, doing some shopping, meeting someone on the street, or even offering help to an elderly/infirm/needy person, ask the Spirit of God to use you to show forth the Love & Grace of God & to share the Word of God that you've been studying, to others. As you serve Him, even in a small way, you will know in your heart, by the witness of the Spirit, that the ministry you've just done was only because of Him being in you & working through you, for GOD'S GLORY only. Now, if that isn't a great confirmation of the indwelling Holy Spirit - and you will increase in your faith & can expect greater things from God.

Joan, I think you've missed a very important part of this very sad account. So please don't be in tears about it. What happened in this account was that Ananias & Sapphira had conspired between themselves to declare to the apostles & believers that the money they were bringing as a gift was the full price of the sale of their land. This collection of monies (from Chapter 4:34), was being made for the poor believers in their midst. So people sold some of their possessions & brought in their money. However, Ananias & Sapphira, brought in only a part of their sale price but declared it as the full price - in other words they lied, & as Peter said, that they lied to the Holy Spirit.

So, this type of sin may be a 'human thing', but should never be seen or heard of amongst believers. It was absolutely nothing wrong if they said: "our sincere apologies folks, but we can't donate the full amount of the sale of our land since we need some of it for ourselves, but please accept this portion of that amount". Had they said this, all would have been well for them & the believers would have been blessed for their honesty. But, sadly, they chose to lie, & may have done so to 'save face' & appear to others as being as generous as everyone else.

Does this happen today? Of course, lies are prolific for all sorts of reasons, but to appear as someone better than others (i.e. to be admired or taken notice of), is this Christ's Spirit working in us or are we behaving in the 'flesh' & doing the works of Satan? I have heard, even from so-called Christians, that it is okay to tell a 'white lie' if it will help in some way. I'm sure you won't agree with this, as unbelievers, right from the top echelons of government to the lowliest impoverished street sleeper, freely engage in all manner of lying. The Lord sees & hears every word that we speak & knows every intent of the heart. For purity sake, Ananias & Sapphira were punished that the Church might learn the hard way.

Teboho, if I may offer my understanding on these words. I see these as two distinct types of ministry in the Church just as the other verses that speak of those who encourage others or show mercy are also very useful in the building up of God's people. So, the Gk. word for 'Ministry' (v 7) is 'diakonia', otherwise translated as deaconship or service. So, the work of a deacon would come under the meaning of this word as well as others fulfilling this type of service, which must also include the sisters in a fellowship, who wonderfully serve in many other ways. I see Paul in this chapter trying to point out that whatever gift is given to us by the Spirit, we must use it diligently & cheerfully, for the blessing of the Church & not for our profit or elevation. Sorry, that's just the way I talk & write: trying to compress as much of my thoughts into a rich use of words & sentences & so avoid unnecessary circumlocution & verbosity. And it's for good, smart folk like you that I write, so that I might get some good insight & feedback on this important issue. And, by the way, I did see excerpts of that sad account of the young girl who suicided. Very sad indeed, yet we don't know her full story.

Spending time in the Word of God is spending time with Christ. He is the Word (see John 1:1). For me, I experience his presence which leads to prayer. I gather scriptures that I desire to pray to him about because I know he honors his Word and I know that I'm praying his will. I recommend reading the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Afterwards Read Acts chapter 1 and 2. Do this every day, devote quite time with him, listen for him. In this reading you will come to know about Jesus Christ, his passion, his heart, and feel his love. Get ready to enjoy reading the Word of God, enjoying his presence and experiencing intimacy with him. You're on the right path of desiring an intense relationship with him for the Word promises if you seek him, you will find him! God bless you and I'm so happy for you. Elizabeth, there have been & will be a lot of comments thrown about on this subject. I don't want to buy into it, but to ask you three questions:

1. have you ever seen a tall ship coming in from the (flat) horizon? You can use a pair of binoculars to get a better view, but what do you see? First the upper part of the ship appears (i.e. the funnel, mast or bridge), then the lower part appears (i.e. the hull). Why is this? Now, if the Earth was flat, we should see the whole ship as soon as it comes into view, shouldn't we, & not parts of it?

2. have you actually seen a Lunar Eclipse, i.e. when the Earth comes between the Sun & the Moon & casts its shadow on the Moon. Again those binoculars will come in handy if you want to see one clearly, but when you look at the progression of a full lunar eclipse, what is the shape of the Earth's shadow on the moon? Is it straight line? Or does it reveal a slight curve, depicting a small portion of the circumference of the Earth?

3. and in reference to Isa 11:12: "four corners of the Earth". It has already been explained that this is just an expression to denote the 'full expanse of the Earth'. But why I mention this now is because of what you just wrote: "I have found there is deception in every area of man's knowledge". Now, we all know that "area" is a lineal measurement & it would be difficult to ascribe that measurement to man's knowledge, since knowledge is stored in groups of neurons in the brain & difficult to measure in lineal terms. So, to be true to English usage in this regard, we must admit that maybe, just maybe, the 'four corners of the Earth' are not literal corners, just as 'every area of man's brain' is not a literal measurement.

My eyes especially. Your faith makes me not feel isolated.

For so long, I had to hear from my niece and her mother how damaged my great nephew is. Negativity drags me down. So I started praying for their whole family! They have 2 other sons with various problems. I try to help my sister to have an improved spiritual life but she refuses to give up self imposed diseases (demonic) and the suitcase of pills; she's a pharmacist without a degree. I can't help her but I can love her and pray for them all.

I have this sense about you: that Jesus loves you so very much. You know lots. That is Jesus enjoying your company.

Sometimes too much activity cuts in on the time we spend in His Presence: just sitting and listening for Holy Spirits voice. Hearing a song the Holy Spirit sings.

Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb of God. Without spots or impurity. He was perfect. He was to be humankind's sacrifice.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

When Jesus was walking up, John spoke the Prophesy that Jesus was the Lamb of God. This was a prophesy fulfilled. On the day Jesus was crucified over a 100 prophesies were Fulfilled.

The things preceding; the day of the trial; the crucifixion; and after. It was all prophesied many years before. The odds of Him doing that probably exceed the number of stars in the sky.

Get that list off Google. It gives you great appreciation for the office of Prophet.

Only God could do that.

Incidentally Evolution that man develops from apes, is junk and foolishness. Evolution that the mind comes from the brain is foolishness. Universities that teach such things are dubious.
