D.J., I agree heartily with your general comment that "faith without works is dead". Yet, it is that seed of believing faith which is what the Lord seeks. Indeed, 'our works do follow us' ( Rev 14:13) & that is important, but 'without faith it is impossible to please God' & to just correct Luke 18:8, "when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find FAITH on Earth?"

The writer's intent of 1 Macc 2:52 would normally be read as: 'Was not Abraham found faithful when (God asked him to offer up his son & he was obedient to perform this act because of his faith)? And though a cursory examination of this reveals no error here, the 'measurement' of his faith was not based on that fact (as good as it might have been), but on his faith in God to provide a substitute sacrifice or not even one at all, since God was One Who could be trusted implicitly even when He acts outside our human understanding & reasoning. It was that faith, even to the killing of his son for a reason known only to God (& for maybe many other examples of this in his life), that warranted Abraham's inclusion into the 'Hall of Faith Heroes'.

So, I agree with you, that it took great faith in what Abraham did, maybe some of us would fail even here, but rather, I see Abraham commended for his faith in God in spite of anything that he could have done which clearly was outside his human understanding, calculations & experience. He must have gone through much emotional anguish & faith testing but his faith overrode his human inclinations.

Our works as a result of faith give visible proof to another person of its validity. But does this fact come under the purview of God or rather, on the 'seed' of our faith alone (i.e. at the 'evidence & germination of that seed)? Anyway, just sharing my understanding of this as I've tried to consider all the relevant Scripture over the years. However, your comments are much appreciated & thanks for your time to consider this important matter.

In 1 Kings 10, when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions. Jesus used her as an example to shame the Jews who were full of unbelief regarding himself as God in the flesh ( 1 Timothy 3:16 ).

Likewise in Luke 4:24-28, Jesus used the example of the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17 and Naaman the Syrian in 2 Kings 5 to show that the prideful Jews who considered the Gentiles as dogs were hindered from the Kingdom by their own unbelief while the despised ones gained acceptance with God by their faith.

In Romans 11, Paul explains that though the Jews were wrong to reject Jesus Christ and demand his crucifixion, God turned their failure into salvation for the Gentiles so that he might have mercy upon all. And he is yet able to save Israel when the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

After the Rapture (Caught Up) the government will forbid Bibles. They will be confiscated. You need to Hide one that hasn't been altered.

Better yet: be ready to meet Jesus in the clouds of heaven. This world will be destroyed after all prophesies are fulfilled.

I choose to avoid websites like Facebook or Twitter. I don't have enough time to peer into madness, daily.

You need to understand 2 Timothy 3:1-5

This what we see everyday. Jesus is returning soon. You have to lose friendship with the World; to PURSUE salvation and friendship with the Son of God.

Spiritual and physical death is forever, in the darkness and separation of eternal hell. People there are tormented by demons. They do not meet up with their BFF's.

Hi Steve B, I don't worship my can of beans or even my Teddy Bear. But I do bow down to hug the teddy bear. And I felt the Lord was offended by this. For I felt like bad luck was coming my way.

No one knows when the end is, not even Jesus, but we are given signs to watch out for. All I can say is the end is closer than it was yesterday and there is a great deception with people believing lies and spreading lies through the media, social media, and beyond.

Prayer is not about what Christians can do but what Almighty God can do in response to prayer. Maybe when Christians learn this lesson, they'll bring corporate prayer back into the church service. Until then, Satan stays the winner of the battle against the Western Church.

Praise God, in acts 10:11 peter said unto Cornelius and his men that God is a respector of no man but if he fear him and worketh righteousness God will accept him. No one is entitled to anything from God but because he's faithful, because he's just, because he's a merciful a gracious father he gives favour unto those who honour him. He's the God of all gods, the beginning and the ending, the great I Am that I am. He holds all in his hands he's in control, when he opens a door for they who fear him and honour him nothing can close that door. We who are so weak, clothed in garment of flesh the Lord find favours in because we honor him. Praise God, all things are for the glory of him, all we do and all we say should be unto him, with that open door whilst its unto us as a gift for our loyalty it's also for his glory so we as his children should bring glory unto his name always. Matthew 5:11-14 we are the salt of the earth and if salt loses its flavour it's tossed out and trampled, it's good for nothing, we are the Light of the earth, a city on a hill cannot be hid. As the salt of the earth and the Light of the world where ever our heavenly father opens the door we must continue to flavour and continue to shine so others might see and glorify our father who art in heaven in Jesus Christ name.

    God bless you my dear

    Matthew 7:15

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves". In the same way, false prophets are no different today. They often come in popular evangelical clothing. They went to prestigious seminaries, use orthodox lingo (like Gospel, Trinity, Kingdom living etc). And even appear godly. They often know scripture well, for even the devil quoted scripture when tempting Jesus Christ (Matthew chapter 4). However, their outward appearance does not match their inward one. They are ferocious wolves who will hurt the flock. ( Jeremiah 23:6).

    Ray,

The 10 Commandments were given by God to guide mankind as a whole and us individually. If we follow them, we will be blessed.

The second Commandment reveals to us that God is a JEALOUS God ( Exodus 20:5).

    Jealous for our love!

If there is a possession or belief you hold higher than your love for your heavenly Father, by all means take the proper steps to change that.

I highly doubt that you are kneeling down and praying to some type of "graven image;" or to anyone other than the Father, and through His only begotten Son.

The 6th Commandment states: Thou shalt not kill ( Exodus 20:13). It means that you cannot "lie in wait" ( Micah 7:2) and murder someone.

The Bible was not originally written in English

The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the New Testament was written in Greek.

A Bible Concordance gives you English definitions for all the Hebrew and Greek words of the Bible. Around $20.

    Keep the Faith!

Ray - do not be stressed, and please stop throwing everything you own out. Just don't worship your can of beans. The Jews were notorious for making Golden Images, statues and such, and bowing down to them. Be thankful for all all the Lord has given you - directly from His hand. The 10 Commandments were give to Moses to be presented to the Israelite's - His Chosen People. (Many people are going to have a hard time with this post, but we are in the Church Age). Read Roman's - we are ALL under sin, and can not overcome, so stop trying of your own strength - we are weak, and He is strong. Which is why Jesus lived a perfect life, was crucified for our sins, and rose from the dead in triumph over our sins. Many people will want to keep you "in captivity" with there posts, but you have been freed from the law by Jesus Christ. Read very carefully - the NT - the Epistles of Paul. You will find a vastness of freedom to bring the Jews to jealousy. Read Romans slowly, and trust what you are reading - with much prayer. Please understand who is being spoken to in each chapter of each book. We can and should learn from it all. Who God is, what He has done, and what He is going to do. Simply Trust in Him, and be at Peace.

22-23 and the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; and the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived

Note: Blessings, given to her by GOD is 100% stripped away from her by the destruction from GOD. All her buying & selling, global commerce or all her imports & exports ceases to exist forever. Millstone sounds are heard when corn and wheat is being ground for food but that day the milestones are silenced forever by destruction. Her light no longer shine thereby attracting nobody because she is now destroyed and in a form of darkness, also it appear the Godly-Joy found in marriage cease to exist. But we must remember, if we are rightly secured by John 3:16-21 or other such verses, the best is yet to come for us /those BORN AGAIN, for example, being at The Marriage Supper Of The LAMB.

Using sorceries or her many evils tricks, she deceived ALL nations.

    Chris,

I generally agree with you concerning the Apocryphal books.

Please do not think that I am trolling you or nitpicking. It is absolutely not my intent at all.

I do, however, believe that it is the righteous works of Abraham that built his faith in God and in turn built God's faith in Abraham. (something like- those to whom much is given, much is expected- I forget the Book / verse.

As Jesus states: "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." ( Matthew 16:27)

When the Lord and Savior returns, He will happily be looking upon the good works of His faithful servants.

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" ( James 2:26), look at Romans 3:31, Galatians 3:12, James 2:18-20, etc.

Our FAITH is plainly seen through our righteous acts (WORKS) by obeying the LAWS of God (which do not apply to

    usonly.when we don't break them).

Have you looked into the Dead Sea Scrolls?

You say, CHILDREN DONT NEED TO READ? Hmmm! If your basically saying, what I think your saying...WRONG...WRONG...WRONG...Children do need to read, I Disagree! I'm not talking about a 5 or 6yr.old, I'm talking here about a 12yr. Old girl that was just Lacking a few months from being 13, ok! The Jewish people started their children reading at a very early age! Didn't like the fact, that little girls were restricted pretty much from the study of the SCRIPTURES & the TALMUD and also other teachings! Point is...children should be taught God's word early! In most Hmes you hardly ever see FAMILY-ALTAR-TIME. In my Home, I started studying around 11yrs.old or earlier! I was considered odd & wierd by family members! I'll stop there! My point already made! People wonder why their kids do the way they do....like Hang themselves in their families front yard, while Mommy and the other siblings are taking a Nap! So don't tell me kids don't need to read, or read the Scriptures...

Comments about that which is BORN of the SPIRIT IS SPIRIT Matthew 13 The children of the kingdom that are gonna be born in US via his seed the Word. She brought forth a manchild that is gonna rule all nations. THE WOMAN IS US, WE ARE GONNA HAVE A BABY, the Child is the H.G. The Child is the Kingdom , the H.G. unless you receive the kingdom as a lil Child ( A BIRTH the H.G.))you will in no wise enter there in. his SEED is the WORD, the same seed that was implanted in Mary is gona be sown in all of US. Who is my Mother he asked ? Them that hear the WORD and keeps it ,Thus we will birth a baby Christ which is the H.G. A SPRITUAL CHILD, THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT ( THE WORD ) IS SPIRIT THATS THE H.G. OUR NEW INNERMAN, tHAT NEW CREATURE . Our fruit unto God as PAUL said, When he was still on the cross he calling for Elijah to come and turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, His children that are gona be born in US. Thats y he said b/c i have spoken these words ( his seeds) sorrows have filled your hearts, SORROWS imply a spritual pregnancy thats when he told em of a woman has sorrrows till the Child comes then her sorrows are turned into joy, then he said i wil see you again he is the Child, th H.G. WHOSOEVER receives one Child in My NAME receives me, in my Name implies he is the father of the Child simply the child is ccnceived by his seed the word,REMEMBER he said the Father wd send the H.G IN MY NAME,THE H.G. being the Child. MEN AND WOMEN ARE GONA BIRTH A BABY CHRIST THAT WAS THE GREAT PROMISE THAT CHRIST WD BE MULTIPIED as the stars of heaven THUS THE BABES AND SUCKLINGS WHICH ARE SPIRITS TH H.G PLURAL AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN.Whoso ever receives one such Child in my NAME receives ME. Thats y the new birth is so important, there is a Child in the new birth. When Isaiah saw the Kingdom coming he says unto us a Child is born unto us a Son is given. thats y he always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN. Thats y Jeremiah saw all men in travail and birth pains
