My sisters son went through much the same... she started going to Church and taking others, she joined a support group... Mostly, she prayed and lil by lil released him, as best she could, into Jesus protective arms... While still loving him... she continued to pour out her finances to rehabs... He has met a nice girl... This was my favorite prayer for him...
