In 1st Timothy 2-8 Paul wanted men to pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. My question is when we pray are we supposed to hold up our hands at home and or in church? This was an at lengthy topic in our small Wednesday night bible class. I don't recall ever seeing people in the church Christ praying with their hands up.

  • Gladys Adjei-Poku on Psalms 121 - 6 years ago
This psalm has been my support in times of need when I am fasting, asking God for deliverance, guidance and protection from fears and work of the enemy. When I am afraid it has brought me comfort. I have known this psalm from childhood and it continues to be powerful everyday even as I age. Praise be to God for His word that revives, encourages, and reassures. Amen.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. Psalm 48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

You are right--don't believe all you hear, even from me--search for the truth in the Bible. Man has a way of not presenting ALL the word of God.

You are so right. I use the Strong's Concordance and The Companion Bible for all my research and study. No better combination.

The Bible is the sword but you must know how to use it . It's more like figures of speech and a lot of hebrew culture as well as Greek and Roman culture. And not to mention the bad translation and version of people whom did not know what they were doing. So don't think that what you are reading is what you are reading .

Between Genisis 1: 1 and 1:2 God created the heavens and earth is verse 1 and it became void verse 2. Indicating the time when Saten was cast down to earth and all the heavens were shaken There was a vast amount of time between verse 1 and 2. .

I agree with the vine , but I was referring to the message in Roman's 11:17 and Paul being a Jew was speaking how we are grafted in and to read all about Abraham is truly amazing, how God picked him to be the father to all nations, coming from a pagan land as he did and God spoke to him and told him to travel into a land he did not know and he did by faith. Peace be with you God Bless you

Regarding the genealogy. With two records - Luke is obviously copying from another source - and I submit that the Genesis account written about Moses' time, one assumes is also from a much older source. Humans can make copying mistakes. Also note that the language of Jesus' time was Aramaic, not Hebrew. So spellings and pronunciation of names were likely different.

Freedomborn. Did you know the more you go through things in your life-- the more you deal with others trying to make you feel as small as an ant-- it is because God has chosen you to give others understanding of His Word. Remember what Paul went through? I went through most of my life with people using me. And overdoing me because l worked hard in any jobs l did. Just keep Praying for Strength!

Teresa, why not start at the beginning-- Gen 1:1. The starting process always is the beginning. Check Isa 28:10 for how to proceed. Bless you.

The scripture you refer to in Acts is Act 5:39, not 6:39. Act 6: has only 15 verses. The 7:51 is Act 7:51. God bless you for your studying Gods word.

you have to learn to forgive at all time , your heart must not be heavy , and be careful what you do in life because , it will come back and haunt you , let the lord god be the judge of all that's going on , try to live right with god , and remember there's no place for wicked doers .

have you not read the commandment in its entirety?NO graven Image and Nothing in the likeness Of the Heavens or Host there in Neither Of the earth or the Host there in. when Jesus said"If any would come after me Let him first deny his self pick-up his cross and follow me.He did not mean that literally. anything grievous in its nature is not something strung around my neck. remember the millstone..
  • Shane - In Reply - 6 years ago
as a gentile or infidel in the new testament apostles and disciples argued circumcision for non-Jews out of all the burdens to be laid upon the greeks an gentiles, tithes and tithing was not one of them, we pay 1 10 of what we receive "freely" to give back that was so freely given, and that what you sow shall you also reap...Read old Tes. of what Abraham did to Melchisedec. that's what I follow...

We must not try to interpret scripture about Babylon to mean any city or nation that did not exist in Bible times. As for the sins of the nations, you have to look at the long history of the nations and their deeds. Hence look at Rome, it has a long history, especially the Vatican. God will judge all nations and those that have been around the longest have a long list of sins to be judged.
