I am encouraged with the writings of Paul because he was a rough character as I am and now I can be happy that there is hope for me too! Being a disciple isn’t easy and because I believe the Lord has picked me out for his gift of Salvation and eternal life I press on. I think we humans are harder on ourselves than we should be, yes sinful nature but God is faithful!

How do we understand verse 5?
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
  • HILLIARD WALKER on Hebrews 1 - 8 years ago
it is exciting to understand the word of God especially in the first two verses of Hebrews chapter 1. it clearly say that before God spoke His word [JESUS] to the prophets instructing them as to what he wanted. Now since Jesus has come as God's only BEGOTTEN son [the voice of God] God no longer instructs because Jesus who is the express image and word of God now speaks. Jesus is the Word of God.

What is interesting that in Russian Orthodox Synod Psalms Psalm 26 accords to Psalm 27 (KJV)
  • Servant of God on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
Who among you is sharp enough to discern what this doctrine is about. It surely is not about political power, abortion reversal, 2nd amendment, presumption of salvation, self-righteousness, ad nauseum. It is about work! And not for personal gain, but secretly, to warrant grace from the Father. He alone can reward or punish, bless or correct. That is what this chapter is about. Give glory!
  • Every knee on Mark 13 - 8 years ago
The Gospel is PUBLISHED on the internet. All nations have the internet. It doesnt say all will hear it or read it.
  • Walter on Genesis 2 - 8 years ago
It is the continuation of chapter 2. God rested on the seventh day. The creation of man was explained in this chapter and Man sole purpose of being on this earth. Also the purpose of the woman was explaining as well. Man takes orders from the Lord himself and the woman assist with the man from the orders that have been given by the Lord himself.
  • Anne on Psalms 125 - 8 years ago
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the Lord forever for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength (Is. 26:3

  • Mild Bill on Psalms 29 - 8 years ago
Servant,God has written that his "word" is a two-edged sword, not his voice.Repent involves more than God's existence, but also the sinner's condition before God.God in his mercy withholds immediate judgement of sin.Only God knows who is reprobate. The Holy Spirit is in this world, therefore, full of evil, is extreme. While we see many without fruit of God, we are often blind to God working in them.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on John 4 - 8 years ago
Dear A disciple {Mr or Mrs.} : Water baptisim was for the Jews of that day only as it belongs in the Old Testament. One of the benefits of our Blessed Lord and Saviors death on the cross was for the forthcoming Day of Pentecost of the pouring out of the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues. Read from the book of Acts through Jude. This is the blueprint for us today.
  • RonT on Psalms 50 - 8 years ago
The entire Bible must be read as a child, in that we must NOT think of God's actions as unjust. If they EVER appear unjust, it is because we are judging by our primitive, incomplete, short sighted systems. That's why God says He will judge. Just do as He commands... including forgiving yourself when you sin and getting immediately back to serving Him. Immerse yourself in praise, prayer and Bible.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on John 4 - 8 years ago
DEAR A DECIPLE : NO ONE CAN EVER GO BEYOND WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN TAUGHT AND THATS A FACT ! NO MAN CAN RECIEVE ANYTHING EXCEPT IT BE GIVEN THEM FROM ABOVE ! YOU SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT A SPECIFIC GIFT CALLING MINISTREY OR OFFICE THEREOF IS ! FOR YOU TO CRITISIZE ME FOR WHAT THE LORD OUR GOD HAD GIVEN ME IN REVELATION TO THIS DISCOVERY WAS GIVEN TO ME AND I BACK HIS WORD AMEN ! SHALOM !

  • April on 2 Samuel 6 - 8 years ago
Wowsers!,I hope I don't put my body where it doesn't belong,it's interesting to think back then there wasn't JESUS,so sin was handled differently, when I would read God kindled his anger, then some consequence would occur, death of some sort usually,I was wondering is it really saying he was upset then let go and instant consequences?or like he didn't just stew n being upset with whoever?just curious
  • April on 2 Samuel 4 - 8 years ago
Chell, ALL, I was thinking and I've read many comments throughout some of these chapters, and I got to thinking,David was ANOINTED as well,he as well was chosen by GOD through SAMUEL,so intrestingly enough,Saul at one point didn't know David had been annointed,4 it was done in secrecy,Saul feared for his life, later Saul figured out GOD Was n fact with David,so why would he try to KILL HIM? W/B/L.
  • Samuel on Romans 12 - 8 years ago
1 We should rejoice always in Christ our hope ,regardless of our situation. 2 We who are the redeemed go through the tribulation. 3 We the chosen of God are not to faint but be in prayer always.
  • Lou on Genesis 9 - 8 years ago
Bruce, it wasn't only Noah, almost all the pre-flood men lived very long. Adam was made to live forever, sin changed that, but, it took generations, for sin to wear down on our lives, and shorten them, not because God hates us, but, because sin itself is the root cause of sorrows, and death. Only one man was ever immune to death, and He gave His life away, so that we might live as God had planned.
  • Lou - 8 years ago
After God killed the first animals to make clothes for Adam and Eve, God also allowed Adam to kill, and eat meat, it was not what was originally intended, but God knew it would happen, sin brought death to our world, and all animals, and men will die. Because of Jesus, there is a way to eternal life, because He thinks you, and I are to die for!..even though we are condemned sinners..He made a way.
  • Will on Isaiah 49 - 8 years ago
Verses 1-7 A wonderful expose of our Lord and Saviour, his work, his mission, his life, his sufferings. The Fathers work of Salvation in sending his word in the form of Jesus his son ( John 1). Verses 8-26 The gathering of his people in the end times out of the nations, and the reestablishment of his covenant with his people which you see spoken of throughout the testimonies of the prophets.
  • Lou - 8 years ago
Tiki, To Hebrews, and other ancient peoples the day started at sunset. Even in Jesus' time on earth Jews were required to bury their dead the same day they died, that meant before the sun set, as that would start a new day. Jesus was buried the day he was murdered on a cross, before sunset, and rose 3 days later "early in the day", (that would mean any time after the sun set, to start a new day)
  • Lou on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
Tiki, verses 29 and 30 are from a time before Adam's fall, a time when nothing died. Things changed when Adam sinned, and killing and eating meat became the way of the world, it was God who killed the first animals to make clothing from skins, for Adam, and Eve, when they realized they were naked, ......before that sin, no man, or animal had to die, and no one ate meat. Adam's sin changed things.
  • Tawanda on Judges 4 - 8 years ago
    great word i love it.
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Bro. Steve (cont.) The time will come when men will not receive the Word at all; but all the while thinking, and willing to kill anyone who questions them; that they are in fact following the Bible; but they in truth have not the Spirit and do not know the Word; even though they will quote Scriptures to fight against us! Very sad! Like I said, I don't know if the Lord wants me doing this for long.
  • A disciple on Isaiah 49 - 8 years ago
Jaydee; BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS! I don't listen to those self aggrandizing spirits that come up to you saying, "Oh, You have a special revelation and are the holy Messenger of God!" Try the spirits whether they are of God! The first proof of the Holy Spirit's work in us is TRUTH, and the TRUTH acknowledged must always have the effect of showing us that we are good for nothing of ourselves.
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Tiki (cont.) If you're only comfortable as a vegetarian or vegan; or if you have no problem eating meat; the important thing is that we do so with a good conscience toward God, and for love's sake not cause our brother or sister to be offended. When we eat meat and drink wine or beer, and our brother or sister can't for conscience' sake; then we should not grieve them by food, but deny ourselves!
  • A disciple on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
Tiki; If you keep reading you'll see that Abel offered sacrifices to God; which means he would have eaten from the meat. Also in Ch. 9 the LORD said that ALL ANIMALS could be eaten. In the Christian Doctrine it is allowed for us to eat according to conscience and not be judged by these things; for the kingdom of heaven is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 1 - 8 years ago
Brandie; It is so glaringly apparent that the Churches are teaching FALSE DOCTRINE! God was not more severe to the people of old time under the first covenant, than to the people from the time of Christ's first coming; but for Jesus' sake He waits for the fullness of the Nations to come in.
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Randy (cont.) And with regards to Christians imitating Christ; WOULD TO GOD IT WERE EVER SO! Jesus said, "I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE, THAT YOU SHOULD DO AS I HAVE DONE TO YOU." What exactly do you suppose is the meaning in being called "CHRISTIAN" if its not CHRIST-LIKE? The disciple is NOT above his Master, nor the servant greater than his Lord; if they have done these things to Jesus; so to us!
