That which is of the flesh is flesh and that which is of the Spirit is spirit made of the True and Genuine Temple Made without Hands which is Christ in you. Anyone can read the Holy Bible backwords and forwords and never recieve anything except it be given him from above beloved. Christ in you is the master key to the Words interpretation via. divine revealation of His Holy Word. Shalom.

This book is the caveat or stepping stone to the book of Romans that runs through to the book of Jude and stops their and not Revelation. Why ? Because we are the church age or gentiles Kingdom of God temporary age of{ Grace-Salvation-Holy Ghost-Nine Manifestations thereof} which is the blueprint Paul set forth us all. This is where we should all be at and doing. HOPE = RESTORATION = ELIJAH.

Jesse, we don't have to wait for that answer Acts 1:25, 26 gives us the biblical account KJV "That he may take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. v26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. Matthias was chosen by the Holy Ghost. Praise God!

Ephesians 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward. Did Apostle Paul say this. DISPENSATION

Acts 1:5 The promise of the Father. 5 For John truly baptized with water but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Act 1:6 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? What the Jews wanted was a physical Kingdom and rein will Jesus, that was fore told by the Prophets.

Hi Ray; If you read carefully the whole portion you refer to; the Lord was telling them to wait for the "Power From On High" the Baptism of the Spirit; which they heard from Him they should receive. For in the same place Jesus also told them that it was not given to them to know the Day, which the Father reserves to His own Authority, for the Restoration of all things; but we need Power till then!

Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. The 11 Apostles were told to stay in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father in heaven. They were waiting for the second coming of Jesus .

"The former treatise have I made O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach" While the Rulers of the Jews were fighting against the name of Jesus Christ, and forbidding any to teach in His name; Luke wrote the full account and wrote it into two books for the express purpose of giving the high priest the complete testimony of Christ's coming in the flesh according to the Scriptures.

While the Disciples were waiting for the Day of Pentecost to fully come, they began to take upon themselves to start their ministry; before the Lord had guided them or told them any such thing to do. MANY in our day also who have not received the full blessing of the Day of Pentecost, have carved out ministries and callings and works, NOT told to them first by the LORD, but out of their own minds.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Acts 1 - 8 years ago
Jesus the Master has gone to His Father in heaven. His disciples need to be endued with the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised. They needed to have a replacement for Judas Iscariot and Matthias had the lot fall on him. Now the 12 is complete and the Apostles are now ready to proceed with the task ahead- spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My thanks to Keith Babcock for his excellent comment concerning those who question origins, authority, and authorship of the book of Acts as well as the rest of scripture.
  • A disciple on Acts 1 - 8 years ago
Hi Keith; this will surely be a tremendous eye-opener to everyone who dares do just that! BELIEVE! And to help us grasp the importance of believing the Acts of the Apostles; think of it in the terms of why Luke wrote it. As in the Gospel bearing his name as well, Acts was written for the express purpose of providing a written testimony to the High Priest Theophilus, in accordance with the Law.
  • Keith Babcock on Acts 1 - 8 years ago
Acts, like the rest of the inspired scriptures, need not go through all of the mental gymnastics so popular in this age, but needs only to be believed as it is written and delivered by inspiration from the Spirit of the Creator.

  • Irene123 on John 6 - 9 years ago
April, I appreciate your testimony; I am not of your Jewish belief, tho'; did you know that the Passover meals Jesus partook of were still in the O.T. dispensation? His New Testament didn't begin until He was glorified, Acts 1:9. Then - 10 days later, in the upper room in Jerusalem, He sent His Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. That's when JESUS church began (not the Roman Cath. ch. of 325a.d.)

    V. 1 - Mount Olivet was so important in Jesus' day - and in O.T. times. It was a central geographical place in God's Word. 2 Sam. 15:30; 1 Kgs. 11:7-8; 2 Kgs. 23:13-14; Eze. 11:22:23; Neh. 8:15; N.T. - Lk. 22:39; Matt. 24:1-51; Lk. 19:28-44; 21:37; 22:39-46; Acts 1:1-12; in the future - Matt. 24:30-31; Zech. 14:4. Just to understand it's importance, these are well worth reading.

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Ray; There is NO Book of the Bible that is "confused." God is Not the Author of confusion. The Book of the Acts of the Apostles is not a "transitional" book. It was written, along with the Evangel Narrative, to give the completed Testimony to the High Priest, Theophilus; according to the Law, that the Testimony of the Sacred Writings be kept with the Priests, on behalf of the children of Israel.
  • Ray321 on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
I find the book of Act's, the most confused books of all times. But is not confusing. What happening in this book is lots of changes. It's a transitional book not a doctrinal book . The big change was when Stephen got stone, Jesus sat back down. It almost happen, the tribulation. Now, we are in the grace age which was kept a secret until Apostle Paul revealed it. Wow, that is awesome.
  • Ray321 on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
A disciple and bruce, for you to understand Apostle Paul's episode, Romans through Philemon, you will have to give up your tradition of religion and follow Paul's episode. I used to be in your shoes guys. I Pray to God to open your eyes and ears for direction. I have no more to say but pray for you guys. Good luck and God bless you.
  • Ray321 on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Men today are caught up in tradition where it is hard to understand Apostle Paul's episode. Matthew 11:10 Jesus said, for this is he , of whom it is written , Behold, I send you my messenger before thy face , which shall prepare thy way before thee. Jesus was telling the Disiples that Apostle Paul will be the messenger for him. Jesus had chosen Paul for Gentiles. It's all there in the Bible. See.
  • A disciple on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Ray; I'm sorry, but you're very mistaken with that. Paul was but a single vessel among many. The Lord gave Paul great wisdom and understanding in the things before not yet revealed; but he was not singled out to be the One we now follow; as if not to any more need the rest! Are all members of the body one member? God has put all the members in the body, to need each and every one, as a whole body.
  • Bruce on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Ray:Many x many years back it was a mystery. You're throwing up a smokescreen on a simple plan of salvation.Sinners knowing they are lost, receiving salvation, at that time they receive the same Spirit, that all The Apostles had, have the same message, same desire, preach to the lost, consume His Word. No more animal sacrifice. That's new. It is no secret what God can do! Ephesians 4:4-6 Call on Him
  • Ray321 on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
    And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Eph 2:11-12
  • Ray321 on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
My friends, mystery means secret. A secret is something new that nobody knows. God (Jesus ) gave Apostle Paul lots of secrets. Nobody in the Bible knew about this but Paul. Now gospel means good news ( Salvation ). Jesus gave Paul the mystery of the Gospel, Ephesians 6:19. It is plain and simple that Paul was a very important man to Jesus. Jesus was using Paul for a new Revelation, Romans 16:25.

Marlene: Yes that is right, when The Father calls John6:44/ we feel the tug in Our Heart we asked forgiveness we're cleansed by The Blood of Lamb, at the same time The Spirit moves in: 2Corinthians 5:17 We will have a new Heart. We will know, We will have to tell others, We will be so happy!
The next Morning heavyweight was going I didn't know I had. Seeing with New Eyes, Unbelievable joy! WOW!!
  • Ray321 on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Marlene, the good news in scriptures is in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Jesus Christ himself had given Apostle Paul a new Revelation of the mystery of a gospel that he calls, my gospel. Yes, Apostle Paul calls the good new his gospel. Romans through Philemon tells us that Paul will show us Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Please read of Paul episode and find out the Truth. God bless you ......
