Everything was to be done at the appointed time. Jesus knew they would try to Make him king before the appointed time.
John 6:15. When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. But when the time came he didn't only allow himself to be presented as king he arranged it.
Luke 19:30-31. Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
And then...
Luke 19:37-40. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, ""THE WHOLE MULTITUDE OF THE DISCIPLES"" began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
saying Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Fulfilling Zechariah 9:9. Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
A time the Jews should have known from the many prophesies. And he met all the criteria
Daniel even gave them a time.
Daniel 9:25. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem UNTO THE MESSIAH THE PRINCE SHALL BE SEVEN WEEKS, AND THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
But they couldn't perceive. Matthew 13:14.
as Ron stated.
And it seems they were held accountable in
Luke 19:41-44.
Goodmorning and God bless.
If Satan had known he would have stopped the crucifixion because that would have stopped the plan of Satan's demise. 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. The reason was fulfilling prophecy. Mark.4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
They were told the time when the Messiah would come in Daniel 9:25 but their time was up. and the old covenant was to be fulfilled and the new was not yet revealed. Jesus came the first time for the lost sheep of Israel and only the chosen by God was shown Jesus was the Messiah the Christ.
All the others, Matthew 13: 14-16 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

( Ezekiel 21:12) Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people,...smite therefore upon thy thigh. "smite therefore upon thy thigh" is reference to Jacob wrestling an angel for the birthright he obtained from a hungry Esau, for a bowl of lentil soup. Wrestling the angel permanently injured Jacob's thigh ( Genesis 32:24-25). Seen as our "Jacob's time of trouble"; the great tribulation.
God made both Gog and Esau "small" and "despised "( Obadiah 1:2) Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.
( Daniel 11:23) And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
( Matthew 24:21-22) For then shall be great tribulation....

( Revelation 18) vs 20 ...for in one hour is she made desolate.
( Revelation 18:9-10) ...for in one hour is thy judgment come. ( Ezekiel 18:26)
( Daniel 12:6-7)
Israel (house) is notably attacked [from the south to the north]:
( Ezekiel 21:2-4) And say to the land of Israel (northern kingdom),...therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh [from the south to the north].
( Ezekiel 20:46-47) ....Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree:...and all faces [from the south to the north] shall be burned therein.
( Isaiah 21:1) ....As whirlwinds in [the south pass through]; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land (Gog's land)
( Job 37:9)
( Isaiah 24) "Day of the Lord" aftermath.
( Revelation 9:18) By these three was the third part of men killed...
Gog has 42 months, minus 1 hour of absolute power left. The lead house of Israel was defeated ( Ezekiel 21:12) in the like manner as Babylon ( Isaiah 47). antichrist sets up his beast 'marked' government.
( Daniel 9:25) ...and to build Jerusalem the street shall be built again, and the wall (temple)...
( 2 Thessalonians 2:4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
( Daniel 2:41) And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided...
( Daniel 11:44) But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy...
( Amos 1:6) The Philistines raided Judah under king Joram ( 2 Chronicles 21:16-17). They sold their captives to the archenemy of Israel, the Edomites.
( Obadiah 1:10) For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
( Obadiah 1:8) Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
( Obadiah 6 & 7) All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee....
( Revelation 16:16) ....And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Gog's 42 months of power are coming to a close. His army is feuding to a point where, if allowed to, they would completely destroy the earth. This is the sole reason for the second coming of Jesus Christ: to prevent armies from ending the planet. When they of Revelation 16:16 see Christ's brightness upon Mt Olive, they will come down to the slaughter.
If anyone is wondering about that book that was read at someones funeral. Just scroll through the comments a bit and you'll see numerous answers given to numerous people about the same thing. Also the people that posted that are looking for the book the link to it is right next to your name.
The Apocrypha books were originally in the 1611 KJV Holy Bible. They only began removing them in 1885 as you can read on this page. As there are some things that some people didn't like. Also there are many things that connect directly to the teachings of the rest of the Holy Bible.
Perhaps then, while these times were fulfilled by the Gentiles as mentioned in Romans 11 , there was a period of mercy for the root of Israel to grow branches in the New Covenant and this mercy was and had to be first as Israel was the first born, yet only a remnant came to the New Covenant and filled the branches while many branches were broken off by unbelief. Yet by mercy again in the New Covenant, these broken branches allowed the grafting in of the True believing Gentiles. Together they became one church and one baptism.
Hebrews 9:11-12 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Thanks, Carleton your posts are encouraging and uplifting.

Jesus needed to live a normal human existence, identifying in every way with His people, with their sufferings, their joys, hopes, doubts, sicknesses, etc. And He could only do this if He came as a Babe, growing up as a young man & fulfilling the Will of God in life & death. ( Hebrews 2:16-18). And even though the people saw Him only as the son of Joseph & Mary ( Matthew 13:55,56), they should have known the Scriptures that spoke of His coming ( Isaiah 7:14; Daniel 9:24-26; Isaiah chaps 52 & 53; Zechariah 9:9, 12:10; & many others).
To your other questions: "what was Christ's victory over?" Ultimately, He was victorious over death & hell; by implication: over sin's penalty & over Satan's power to all who believed. 2 Timothy 1:10; 1 Corinthians 15:25,26 & Revelation 20:14.
And "how did He achieve this victory?" Only by the Cross. What seemed to the world & to Satan as the final death blow to Jesus to be rid of Him, in fact became the very means of salvation to all who would believe on Him. Jesus' resurrection was God's glorious proclamation of His acceptance that sin's price was now fully paid & that all who put their trust in Him would be cleansed by Jesus' Blood, justified, accepted & glorified ( Romans 8:30).
The 70 weeks of 7= 490 years. 483 years when Jesus was baptized. History places this around 29AD. Jesus' ministry was 3 years by the number of Passovers Jesus went to according to scriptures. We are at 486 years. Stephen's death is recorded around 36AD. This is around the same time Jesus stopped confirming the New Covenant through is Apostils and Peter had his dream and went to Cornelius and the gospel went to the Gentiles.
This prophecy was determined upon Israel and Jerusalem not the world, and these six things were to be fulfilled. See for yourself if these were fulfilled by Jesus. 1 To finish the transgression ( Isaiah 53:5, 8) ( Hebrews 9:15-18) 2. To make an end of sins ( Matthew 1:21) ( Hebrews 10:8-11) ( 1 John 3:5) ( Romans 8:3) 3. To make reconciliation for iniquity ( Colossians 1:20-22) ( Isaiah 53:6) ( Titus 2:14) ( 2 Corinthians 5:18-19) 4. To bring in everlasting righteousness ( Romans 5:17-21) ( 2 Corinthians 5:21) 5. To seal up vision and prophecy ( Daniel 9:23) ( John 6:27) ( Mark 1:14-15) 6. To anoint the most holy ( Hebrews 9:6-14).
The 3 years in Revelation starts when Satan is cast down and gives his power to the beast, not connected with the 70 weeks. If not clear its ok.
God bless Andrew, Ron
Daniel 9:27
King James Version
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
I have received that this is speaking of the covenant Jesus Christ made and confirmed. After his 3.5 yr ministry, Jesus was killed and the veil was rent: causing the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and the Jews havent had a temple since, nor will they until the consummation (of the marriage of the bride) and that which is determined (the wrath of God) will be poured upon the desolate (the ungodly).
So yea, the great tribulation/time of Jacob's trouble will be 3.5 yrs (a time, times, and half a time or 1260 days- as referenced elsewhere in the book of The Revelation). As to the time of the catching up, we can see from Scripture that the Man of sin/son of perdition must be revealed first, as to when in the tribulation I believe is just speculation.
John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Be well
You may ask. How long will the tribulation period last? Is it three and one-half years? Is it seven years? To answer your question I would suggest you study Daniel's 70-week prophecy and if you find what I have found if the 70-week prophecy has been fulfilled it will answer your question. Without the last week, the 7-year rapture theory is false and the pre, mid, or post is irrelevant.
The 70th-week prophecy Daniel 24-27 is Determined on Israel and Jerusalem/The Holy City. This prophecy tells the year the Messiah/Jesus Christ will come the first time, the baptizing by John. They rejected Him. This prophecy also tells when Jesus was crucified.
The seven-year rapture theory is taken from vs 27 and it is said he in this verse is the antichrist and he makes a covenant with Israel and in the middle of this last week, he breaks the covenant, and the great tribulation starts, (short version).
One clue, it was 69 weeks when Jesus came and He was crucified 3 years later, that puts it in the middle of that last week, the 70th week. So who is he? There is also one who we know and scripture backs up, made a covenant. Study to find and be confident in your own heart.
May God bless your study, Ron
You have to take into account that Jesus was crucified before the "high sabbath" (feast of Unleavened bread), which was separate from the weekly sabbath (Friday at sundown through Saturday at sundown).
JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED IN THE MIDST OF THE WEEK = Wednesday ( Daniel 9:27).
The Roman soldiers had to remove His dead body from the cross at sundown, Wednesday, by Jewish law.
Jesus was resurrected Saturday at sundown, at the end of the weekly sabbath, beginning Sunday (Sunday is the 1st day of the week).
Listen to this: "Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils." Mark 16:9
I agree when satan's kicked out of heaven and that initiates the 6th trumpet, 2nd woe, day of the Lord. For reference, here are a few describing the same event from different angles: Isaiah 13, Isaiah 21:1-9, Isaiah 24, Isaiah 47, Ezekiel 21:1-24, Ezekiel 38:1-17, Joel 2:1-11, 2 Thessalonians 2:3, Revelation 18. This battle is over in an hour.
Daniel 9:27 I see what you are saying about the language, the dualism. At this point, I need to examine other evidence surrounding this verse, compared to other scriptures to better pin point what is going on.
Right off the bat, it is well known that the day of the Lord sees Jesus coming like a thief with His northern army to lay the land desolate. God states that anti-Christ's army is His army, Joel 2: 10-11
Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north: Ezekiel 21:1-7 "MY sword will go out of HIS sheath".
Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty, Isaiah 13: 6 This characteristic of the strike is synonymous with the man of sin, spoiler at noonday, anti-Christs.
God furbishes a sword and places it in the slayers (anti-Christ's) hand, Ezekiel 21:9-12 Russia has God-like weaponry, God has blessed Russia's scientists. Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty, Ezekiel 21:12
The 70 weeks is a classic Bible mystery. I will study it again. The way I explained it to you makes sense to me considering the 6th trumpet lasts 42 months. I have no strong convictions towards it, and would evolve my mind if I was presented a sound concept. As it stands, it is a side bar to my love of the Lord and His prophets.
I will be around to reprove.
Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
We also see that the 2 witnesses (The 144,000, The woman/church) are persecuted by by satan for 42 months, Revelation 12:4
These hostilities takes place between the 6th and 7th trumpets, during anti-Christs rule.
There is no such thing as a 7 year great tribulation, satan only gets 42 months.

{ Daniel 9:24} < The context
And he [the Messiah] shall confirm the covenant with many for ONE WEEK: and IN THE MIDST OF THE WEEK (the seventieth) he [Christ] SHALL CAUSE THE SACRIFICE AND THE OBLATION TO CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations (the continued temple sacrifices, after Christ one perfect sacrifice.) he shall makeitdesolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. ("Behold your house has been left unto you desolate.")
{ Daniel 9:27}
Only our Creator can have a covenant with his creation.
7 weeks + 62 weeks + one week = 70 weeks, to anoint the most Holy, and to seal up the vision and the prophecy.
{ Daniel 8:11}
(Here the place of the true sanctuary is being cast down: see Heb 8:1)

{ Daniel 11:31}
--Jesus at his crusifiction caused the sacrifice and the oblation of the daily to cease.
( Daniel 9:27)
And from the time[508 A.D.] thatthe daily (sacrifice)shall be --taken away--H5493, [call back] and the abominationthat maketh desolateset upH5414,there shall be a thousandtwo hundredand ninetydays. ("The time of the end")
{ Daniel 12:11}
(The spurious sanctuary being set up in place of the true sanctuary in heaven, which is what the terminus quem of 1798 A D. gives us.)
This is the antichrist beast of Rome who thinks to change times and laws of God, and who in their own words thinks to reinstate the the literal sacrifices (daily) that Christ caused to cease with his one perfect sacrifice.
And he ['ha moshiach'] shall confirm the covenant ['berit hadashah'] with many for one week: and in the midst of the week [the 70th week] HE SHALL CAUSE THE SACRIFICE AND THE OBLATION TO CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations

The World of Antichrist
APRIL 3, 2020/PREACHERSPOINT
The last two weeks I've written about the signs of Christ's return going on around the world. Worldwide pestilence, earthquakes in divers place, wars and rumors wars, massive locust swarms in Africa, and the list continues.
Through various forms of correspondence, I have received the following questions, "Is this the end of the world?" "Is Christ coming back soon?" "Are we in the Tribulation Period?" "Will we see Armageddon in a few months?"
This column will try, on the one hand, to calm people down somewhat; and, on the other hand, give the warning people need to hear.
Let us do the quick answers first.
"Is this the end of the world?" Until the rapture happens, we are at least 1,007 years from the end of this earth.
"Are we in the Tribulation Period?" - No. The Tribulation period begins when the Antichrist makes a seven-year covenant "with many" concerning Israel and the city of Jerusalem ( Daniel 9:27). This event has yet to happen.
The big battle everyone thinks about is Armageddon. Well, two Biblical battles must take place before Armageddon ( Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38-39). Also, Armageddon comes at the end of the seven-year tribulation period that has not yet started (see above).
As far as Christ return - Is it close? The Second Coming is the last event of the Tribulation Period, so, at this point, we have at least seven years before Christ sets foot on this earth again. However, the rapture (Christ appearing in the air and removing believers) could happen at any moment.
At this point, let us fill in some details about the future as Biblical prophecy explains it to us.
There will still be national borders at the time of the Antichrist. The Bible talks of other "kings" on earth with him. He will be running the show and calling the shots as the leaders of the world, will eventually be wrapped a
Thank you,
Doug
I know that the common belief is that Daniel 9:27 warns of a coming anti-christ. I hope you will consider that the one confirming the "covenant" with many is Christ and not anti-christ.
This chapter, Daniel 9, is a prayer for the forgiveness of Israel and that prayer is answered when Gabriel is sent to Daniel with a semi detailed timeline of the arrival of the Lord our Savior. Especially Note that Daniel 9:4 states "... O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the COVENANT and mercy to them that love him...". Isn't this he covenant being spoken of in verse 27?
Daniel 9:25 essentially says that Messiah will appear upon the end of the first 69 weeks. This would coincide with about the time of the beginning of the ministry of Christ.
Daniel 9:26 says that 'after' 69 weeks Messiah will be cut off. Many people believe that Christ's ministry lasted about 3 1/2 years after which He was crucified.
Also notice the similarity between Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many..." and Mat 26:28 and Mar 14:24 where Christ's Words are very similar while He is having the last supper with His disciples. The word "testament" in these verses can also be translated "covenant".
Also, for scholars to suggest that satan confirms covenants is little ridiculous and I don't think that the Bible would support that notion.
I suspect that much of the visions which were given to Daniel are still sealed and will shortly begin to be revealed. I wouldn't put much stock in a "broken seven year covenant between satan and God's 'chosen people'". A belief that is based on an odd reading of Daniel 9:27.
This took place in a Upper Room. A prophesy Peter found about Judas Iscariot is discussed by the disciples. They are about to appoint a new 12th disciple.
I believe the Holy Spirit showed Peter of the prophesies about Judas Iscariot's betrayal. Jesus knew of the prophesy; He's God. It would explain lack of closeness with Judas.
The Commentary Page on this website says the prophesy is about Judas Iscariot.
This is one of those studies that you have to read at a snails pace, all of the center column references to get a clearer picture of prophesy with present circumstances.
I'm going to list the passages and let the scholars in here piece it together with Holy Spirit, our Helper: helping us rightly divide the Word of Truth.
Acts 1: 10:20
John 18:3
Matthew 26:55-56
Psalms 41:9, 55:23 (The Prophesy)
Isaiah 53:7 (Ch 53 all about Jesus)
Daniel 9:26
Lamentations 4:20
Leviticus 25:15
Deuteronomy 16:9
*when you Google on Judas; just use his last name & it'll get you to the right Judas.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
they thought the LAST antichrist was going to arise during their time or the warning would not have gone out at that time in this epistle. They did have their antichrist Caesar Nero which did add up to 666.
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what (what do you think this what is?) withholdeth (holds back) that he (the antichrist) might be revealed in his time.
The Holy Spirit is not a WHAT. I personally think this WHAT is the Holy Spirit's "restraining power". I can't say this 100% for sure but it makes sense. Your thoughts?
On Daniel 9:27, the "he" - do you know what an antecedent is?
