Hi Sacha, By any chance did you read any of my first three posts this morning? It was actually Genesis chapter 22 that inspired these posts. Anyway I hope it is cheery your way today when you look out of the flat! Windy here!!!

    Hello Sacha,

I would like to reply to your question. So going back to Genesis 22 is the story of Abraham offering up his son Isaac. Which I believe is stated to be a test of faith from God to Abraham. Hebrews 11:7, James 2:21-23. To see how deep his faith truly was. Not just faith but faith by works.

As this topic has come up before I will share my beliefs with some Scripture to it. As another stated also, I do not say Jesus Christ is God the Father. I believe as God is eternal that instead of Him being alone why not have a Son whom is perfect in every aspect just as He is. To be in Him and with Him always in His heart and in His bosom John 1:18 for companionship (that actually just came to me today as I was standing outside praising the Lord).

I usually state Jesus Christ as Lord along with thirty other names I know by heart that I call Him while in prayer. I do not call Him God personally. Although He is one with God and I believe He is the Word of God(as it states in Revelation 19:13. Also some titles the Father and Son share are Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, Savior. As in the OT, using only one verse as there are many, that there is no Saviour but the LORD. Isaiah 43:11. Through out the NT God and Jesus Christ are both stated as our Saviour. Just some Titus 1:3, Titus 1:4, Titus 3:4, Titus 3:6.

So as you have your own beliefs, and just as well I have mine, I will stop here as I don't want to quarrel or argue any more about this. I believe Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God is eternal just as the Father and has always been with the Father. Yes His physical life came to this earth being born of Mary. As He had to suffer death for us as a perfect sacrifice or offering for our sins. Which is very honorable and why the Father honors Him higher than any other being. Even the highest Holy angels. Hebrews 1:4.

And about Him being at the Fathers right hand Steven saw this before He was stoned in Acts 7:55-56. So it's not just a metaphor. God Bless

God said Jesus is his Son from heaven and many witnessed it at Jesus baptism.

Why did not God say Jesus is me ?

And why did Jesus not say I'm God ?

The answer is that would be a lie . God does not lie .
  • Truth be known - In Reply on Luke 1 - 5 years ago
Just because three agree fully on something . Does not make them 3 of the same person .

    But 3 in agreement.

If three people fully agree on the Bible that makes them one in belief , not one in person .

The witness of 3 is not 1 person that's not even good logic .

S Spencer, what a great verse, Isaiah 9:6 which speaks of Jesus being the child, and being called among many other things not listed in this verse "The mighty God." I also recall that after Jesus' resurrection, when He appeared to Thomas, and Thomas said to Him, "My Lord, and my God." Notice that Jesus never corrected Thomas for calling Him God?

There are many places in scripture where Jesus claimed to be God. The Jews understood fully well who Jesus was claiming to be. To the Jewish mind, claiming to be the Son of God was the same as being God. Isn't this why they accused Him of blasphemy, making Himself equal to God?

Thank you so much for sharing Isaiah 9:6!!!

Ron, you asked a lot of questions there that seem to sidestep the main question: Do you believe the Bible or not?

Do you believe 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." or not? So, when the Bible says the "three are one" do they mean the three are NOT one? That's what some people in this forum are claiming, which sounds like they believe in the truth of the Bible.

For those who try to discredit this verse, what other verses will they try to discredit and where does it end? Do they only pick the verses they don't like to 'reinterpret' or do they treat all verses equally? Can someone be a Christian who doesn't fully believe the Bible? Have you tried praying and about this? God bless.

  • Setting Things in Order - In Reply on John 19:17 - 5 years ago
Paul left Titus in Crete to lay a foundation for a Christian church planting there. He instructs him in choices of what kind of men to assist him.

Set IN ORDER according to the known Will of God, by Jesus Christ.

I haven't looked up the history of this moment, but you can. Put the BOOK OF TITUS in Google, then type: history after it. Look through the first 5 responses.

There's another story where a king is told, set thine house in order; you're going to die. He repents and lives longer.

So you can put that phrase into this websites: SEARCH BOX. Set in order. All scriptures with that phrase will be fetched by the search engine. It helps us study deeper, God who is a God of order.

Satan is a "god" of CHAOS. Whatever he finds that is in order, he tears at it until it's in sin and disarray. That is his FRUIT. He has many! Get to know all of them. That's how we know he's trying to set our homes, work, friendships, etc, in Chaos. Time to pray and get Church members to pray with us, if need be.

Let's be sensitive to order vs chaos. It's a pattern for success or, chaos. Titus learned that traveling with Paul: as did the Disciples that traveled with Jesus.

Job had a great life until Chaos showed up on the scene. Job had to resist blaming God for it. He learned the blessing of trusting God, despite the mess around him and "friends" that ACCUSED him of some secret sin.

Accuser, is another name of Satan. We all need to pay attention to the signs of his presence. Stay in the Bible and even READ IT OUT LOUD. He doesn't want to hear it. Praise, and sing Jesus Loves Me if that's all you can think of, in the "battle."

When Jesus was facing a battle, He got away from the crowd and Prayed. Always. That's our Example.

    Hope this helped you. Mishael

Hello, for 100% clarity of what you believe, go ahead and share your definition of all the words in the KJV Bible for: Lord, God, Jesus, Christ, Father, and Son, whether all caps or not.
  • Adam - In Reply on John 10:36 - 5 years ago
Amen. People have to do serious mental gymnastics to twist scripture to mean something else. The Bible literally says Jesus is Lord, but some are now claiming Jesus isn't Lord. This sounds awfully familiar, like satan saying Ye shall "not" surely die. The great deceiver always tries to convince people of the opposite, tries to undermine the deity of Christ and tries to diminish, undervalue, erode morals and values. He's busy at work even with Christians and gets them to repeat the lies without even verifying it or praying to God first and asking if that's really the truth. The lies shall be exposed with the bright light of scripture that even young children can understand.

Adam, the doctrine or dogma of the Trinity, debated first at Nicaea AD 325. The trinity today basically is God exists as three persons but is one being, having a single divine nature. The members of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal, one in essence, nature, power, action, and will. Let me know if this is incorrect.

Most Churches I have been to and believe me I have been to many they have said you have to believe in the trinity or you can not be a Christian. Most have a hard time even explaining it.

If the trinity determines being a Christian, does that also say you have no salvation without believing in the trinity?

Are there any scriptures in the Bible that say you have to believe in the trinity for salvation?

Can we believe God would be behind hundreds of thousands of early believers of Jesus to be killed for heresy because of this man-made doctrine?

If Jesus had the same will as the Father how do we explain this, Jesus just before he was arrested. Luke 22:41-42 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." It is very clear they had a different will but the Son was obedient to the Father. Throughout the new testament it was always His Fathers will not His.

Is the Son equal with the Father? Is the Holy Spirit equal to the Father? Why did the Son ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name if all three are equal?

It is said if we deny the trinity, we deny the divinity of Jesus. Can we as mortal man tell someone, what is not clearly said in scripture, you must believe something that was not taught by any of the Apostles or Jesus? We as one can only inspire others to study the Lord is the judge. I believe doctrines and traditions that places burdens, causes divisions, we need to flee.

    In love, Ron

Deuteronomy 6:4 (KJV) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.

God is used here in the plural form.

    "" El-o-heem ""

    Hebrew:

    Transliteration: 'lhym

    Pronunciation: el-o-heem'

Definition: Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural {thus} especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: - {angels} X {exceeding} God (gods) ({-dess} {-ly}) X (very) {great} {judges} X mighty.

    KJV Usage: God(2,346x), god(244x), judge(5x), GOD(1x), goddess(2x), great(2x), mighty(2x), angels(1x), exceeding(1x), God-ward(withH4136)(1x), godly(1x).

    Occurs: 2606.

Jesus me and the father are one.

Jesus said you've seen me you seen the father.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

If the Roman Catholic taught that, I agree with them! because It's in the Bible and need no Interpretation, It's clear.

    And I'm not Catholic.

but we search the scripture to see if these things are so,

    The Holyspirit reveals truth,

Jesus said "I tell you the truth, I lie not.

He's still doing it! you have to go to great lengths to make it say anything else.

    Greetings in Jesus' name, Carla.

    Great question!

    Revelation 12:1

12 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

    Genesis 37:9-10

9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

From this passage of Scripture speaking of Joseph and the dream he was given; we can see that the woman with the 12 stars and the sun and the moon referenced in Revelation 12 is Israel.

The dragon is obviously that old serpent our defeated foe (satan).

And the water represents nations or people that will attack Israel during the time of Jacob's trouble/the great tribulation, but she will flee to the valley in the mountains prophesied in Zechariah 14 (I believe) that God hath prepared for her.

Later John writes about MYSTERY BABYLON MOTHER OF HARLOTS (the roman catholic church) that sits upon many waters. We can see that the roman emperor (the pope) has his "churches" all over the world in just about every nation (many waters).

This is why Christians must come out from her and her "protestant" daughters to be saved ( Rev 18:4).

I hope this helps you Carla.

    Be well in Jesus' name,

    Andrew

    Thank you for the encouragement.

Glory to God, for I can take no credit as I am nothing, but all is due to the Holy Spirit that reveals all things by His word.

I can see that our Father is leading you into all truth as well.

Yea we can only speak as the oracles of God, and let the chips fall where they may; so to speak. Jesus never debated or strove with anyone, even saying to his 12 disciples; will you leave too? After the multitude departed from the 'hard' saying that they must eat of his flesh (the word) and drink his blood (his Spirit) in order to have life eternal.

Be encouraged and blessed as you abide in the words and doctrine of the Master Jesus Christ,

    Andrew

Hi Sacha If there's nothing wrong with you holding on with what you believe in it shouldn't bother you if others feel the same way! Listening to your recent posts you're critical on people debating their differences but you join the debate and you presents yourself the same way in this Post when you say I'm quoting you. "you know it's nasty", and "you know it sounds spiteful," You've said before you "struggle"with Loving the brethern, it was something you have to work on", You've said "you slip out a curse word every now and then", end quote. No one is perfect, our flesh provokes us to do these things, but it's something the Spirit convict us of, ""ITS NOT A TESTIMONY " No one has defeated the flesh. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. Romans 8:11-12. That same Spirit teaches us all things, Including patience and Longsuffering, And he opens our eyes to the Scriptures. And he causes us to Love the brethren, "We are to hold one another accountable to provide truth in the scripture"

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for REPROOF, for CORRECTION, for instruction in righteousness: Iron sharpens Iron! No one should get upset over the truth! We grow by the "Sincere" milk of the word.

We preach the cross and the cross means nothing if we don't believe in who the Lord say he is,

Revelation 1:8 (KJV) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY. We're not ashamed of that!

The cross is an offense to those who don't believe!!

I Pray you examine yourself, May the Lord be with you.

    Luke 10:21

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

It's the same spirit of the pharisees, the mystery of iniquity, that rejects truth and cleaves to the teachings of men. This is why Jesus said:

    Mark 4:9

And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Praise the Lord for ears to hear and eyes to see o/!

I have a brother who often says: if someone grew up on a deserted island and all they had was a kjv bible, they would never come up with the heretical idea of a "trinity" of gods.

Be encouraged Sacha, and pay no mind to the gainsayers/theologians. They must be born again of the seed (the word of God- 1 Peter 1:23) to see the truth, and only God can do that.

I pray that you are well this day, in Jesus' name.

    Hello Gregg,

As I can only tell you how "witnessing" came about with me. As God has different plans and functions for every member in the body of Christ.

I have found that keeping focused on reading the Word in the Holy Bible will help you in witnessing to others. It seems , to me, that just reading the Word over and over, taking notes of verses, marking verses and pages, book marks, in your Bible to help you find the ones that touch your heart.

Then it seems to just come naturally, by the Holy Ghost, as when maybe just talking with someone. They may say something that corrects directly to the Bible, a verse you know, and now you have a chance to bring that up that it is in the Word of God and not just made up or whatnot. As you are able to plant some seeds or water a little for the Lord.

I hope that will help you a little. May the Lord Bless you on your journey in spreading the Word of God.

    Sacha,

I just read Deuteronomy 6:4. Would I be misreading it if I believe it is referring to God as Lord? Also, Does God alone have all authority over heaven and earth?
  • Jesse - In Reply on John 8:6 - 5 years ago
    Gregg,

The way we conduct ourselves as believers is a witness and testimony in and of itself. Others should be able to see Christ through us. Now that doesn't relieve us of any responsibility to witness Christ and His gospel message to others.

But here are my thoughts on witnessing:

When God first saves us, it is in that infant stage of our salvation that we are "On fire" for the Lord. We want to get out there immediately and witness right away so others can experience and have what we have.

The problem with that is we're not ready to witness to others yet. We have to first be mended by God through His word before we get out there. It's like you mentioned, it can be overwhelming.

I can tell you from my own personal experience when I first received Christ, I wasted no time telling others and trying to convince them that they needed Christ. But when they asked tough questions, and trust me, questions will be asked, I was not ready to answer all those questions. I had not been taught yet.

We all should desire to be witnesses for Jesus Christ. But we have to first be taught before we can get out there and share with others.

One other thing I've learned over the years is that we should never go out and witness because we feel obligated to do so, or out of our own human ambition. We should witness Christ only when He leads us to do so. In other words, if His Spirit is persuading me to go, then I will go.

God is not going to bless anything I do that He is not a part of. It has to be Him leading me to witness. If He doesn't lead me, I stay put!

    Just my thoughts!
  • Richard in Christ on Proverbs 26:4 - 5 years ago
First I will post about someone saying "God doesn't have hands". We all Know God is Spirit. For someone to say He doesn't have hands is absurd. God can have, and be, anything He wants. Here is some Scriptures to consider for the one who stated this:

In Genesis 3:8 the Lord was "walking" in the garden of Eden. In Exodus 33:20 He said no man shall see my "face" and live. Exudus 33:23 speaks of His "hand" and "back parts". The vision of Daniel 7:9 seeing the Ancient of Days(God) "sitting" on His throne wearing a "garment" and having "hair". Many other details in Revelation of one who "sat" upon the throne.

Did God not make us in His image?

Just because we in this physical body cannot see the spirit realm, unless God chooses to send someone a revelation or vision etc, does not mean it is not there.

    God Bless.

    Gunner,

This battle will take place in the Valley of Megiddo. It's HAR-MEGIDDON. HAR is valley. The Valley of Megiddo is what Armageddon means.

And we see that in Zechariah 14:2-3, and Ezekiel Chapters 38 and 39. It talks about this battle known as Armageddon or the valley of Megiddo.

Right now, Satan going through all this trouble to bring about a one-world government, one-world religious system, and one world economic system.

It's so he can unify everybody under his control so that at the second coming of Christ, he will be in control of them to get them over to the valley of Megiddo and fight against the Lord at His second coming.

This is a very brief, but simple explanation, as you asked.

I hope this answers your question.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Luke 1 - 5 years ago
    Thanks, Richard,

God gives us one gift, His Spirit. I agree with you in that "God shall choose what gifts to bloom through His Holy Ghost in all His different members of the body of Christ. By His Will."

It's through His Spirit who has the ability and capacity to do all these things through us that we call "gifts." And yes indeed, I fully agree that it is by His will, not ours!

I am looking at 1 Corinthians 12:1 that says But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

I can see where the confusion comes in. We look at that and we think that we are supposed to seek for and ask God to give us the best gifts/s. But God only gives us one gift, His Spirit. I mean if God sovereignly gives according to His will, it doesn't make any difference what we ask for, right? He does what He wants. And that's the emphasis!

The last phrase, "And yet I shew I unto you a more excellent way."

Paul has already talked about the ministry of the one Spirit of God who He Himself has all the abilities and capacities. And God sovereignly ministers to me and through me, by His one Spirit, through various expressions of grace according to His will.

It's very simple until we start getting into the teachings that twist things like that last verse. People will say that God wants you to come and ask for the "best gifts" for yourself. But that's not what it's making reference to!

    Dear Sacha,

If you're a Christian and don't believe Jesus is Lord then that is mystifying. If you don't believe in the many scriptures in the Bible that say not only Jesus is the son of God, but is God, then that is mystifying. You are in the minority who believe that. Many think saying such things as what you just said is a heresy, but I wouldn't go so far- I think it's just misunderstanding in the same way the other person did. Much of it involves falsely assuming a format like this: "Jesus has one title, therefore he can't (with my own human interpretation) have other titles, because my personal reasons." You suggested that Jesus is not Lord, but that's a foundational belief in Christianity and is throughout the Bible. It's sad that someone has to also assume false motives of another Christian too. Did you pray to God the Father about this before posting such controversy?

Examples of Jesus is Lord: Link

    Romans 10:9

    Romans 6:23

    Philippians 2:10-11

    Luke 6:46

    Isaiah 44:6

    John 13:13

    1 Thessalonians 4:16

    2 Timothy 1:8

    Acts 16:31

    1 Corinthians 12:3-5

Did you reach each of the above?

Romans 10:9 for example says: ""That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."" - some translations word it as "...if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord..."

Deut 6:4, Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

This verse is similar to: 1 John 5:7-8, John 10:30, and John 1:1, John 1:14, and so many others that say Jesus is God. This doesn't mean Jesus is God the Father, but Jesus is God the Son.

When it says "we are one" that does not mean they are separate. It means they are one. So, when a man says they can't be one, or Jesus is separate somehow, because it says they are 'one' that idea self-contradicts itself. I believe the Bible as it is written.

S Spencer, may the Spirit grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Isaiah 9:6 ..... HIS NAME shall be called

Christ bears the NAME of his Father just as we bear the name of our earthly father; but the Father (through Jesus) gives us a new name. We will bear the name of our true Father.

Revelation 2:17 .... To him that overcometh .......I (the Father) will give him (the overcomer) a white stone (the cornerstone, Christ) and in the (new) stone (us) A NEW NAME written, which no man knoweth SAVING HE THAT RECEIVED IT.

I Know HIS wisdom and HIS understanding will grace you with the answer.

    Romans 8:29

    Revelation 22:13

    Ephesians 2:15
