    S Spencer,

Thank you! You touched on my favorite chapter in the entire Bible, John Chapter 15. Years ago in my Koine Greek class, we studied that chapter and the word abide, MENO in Greek.

MENO is used in several places in scripture and it denotes permanency. We permanently are abiding in Him, and He in us.

Yes, Jesus says without me, you cannot do one thing. I think the best way we can express our submission to Him, is to get up in the morning, ready to face our day, and say "Lord, I can't do it. I can't go through this day without you."

I agree that this love, Agape love is our confirmation that He is in us. He gives us the ability to love, and not Human love which is a different word, PHILEO.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ come first, even before ourselves. We can only have that type of love because the creator of the entire universe lives in us, and He is love!

    Skip,

I was reading through your post again because you shared some beautiful things. Sometimes as I'm reading through things, certain thoughts come to mind.

I've been thinking about Jesus saying my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Something that really stands out for me is "I know them." I might say that I know Christ, but what's most important is that He knows me. He knows me! He knows you! He knows all that belong to him.

By Him saying "I know them," wouldn't that pretty much guarantee our salvation no matter what?

In Matthew 7:21-23, it seems as though many who professed to know Christ, even claiming to do many things in His name, and Jesus says depart from me, I NEVER knew you.

Now if He says "I know them," present condition, referring to His sheep, saved believers who belong to Him, how would He ever be able to one day tell us "Depart from me, I never knew you?" If He knows us now, He would never be able to later on say I never knew you!

Thanks so much for the things you shared. Definitely thought provoking. The Lord is good!

Hi, I had a dream once that Satan inside of a known acquaintance who shared the same two close friends of mine as friends of his. Only I was a Christian. Anyway we were in a laundry mat and I was telling the friends about the Lord when this man put his thumb to my forehead and I instantly fell to the ground. I cried out to Jesus and the dream ended. I think people can somehow harness power that is not of the Lord for their own temporary gain. From my Christian experience I can say the Holy Spirit is gentle.

From a young age, anyone that has ever gone out of their way to do harm to me, or my family, I have hit back with twice the amount of force needed to end the conflict ( Rev 18:6). Know when turning a cheek puts you in grave danger. This is a physical world; put Satan in his place.

    Amen Jesse,

What a beautiful declaration you gave on Agape "A fruit, something we get by being connected to the vine, It's virtue

John 15:4-5. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING. .

This love is our confirmation, " we can know we're in him!!

1 John 3:18-19. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

John has a lot to say about this, look what's contuary to this.

1 John 3:10-15. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

It's Amazing how we stay away from this topic because it manifest who we are and whether we are on the right side of salvation!!

It says the brothern, I don't think in these verses it's from believers to non believers, I think it's the spirit that bonds the unity.

John 13:34-35. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. This is the law he said he would put IN man's heart.

Daniel, may the spirit grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

You are leaving out the perimeters set fourth in the first three verses in Revelation 1-3

    .....which shortly come to pass.....

    ....signified....

    .....the time is at hand....

Revelation 22:10 And he said unto me, SEAL NOT the sayings of the prophecy of this book: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND.

The truths in this book had the same meaning 1900 years ago to those readers as it does to readers today and will have the same meaning to readers in the future.

Daniels words were sealed until the day of the Lord (first time, Christ in the flesh; second time CHRIST IN YOU in a glorified body; to those who look for him, as the Holy Spirit). The Lamb of God who only is worthy to open the seals and declare the MYSTERY of his WORKS which is CHRIST IN YOU. TRUTH, RESURRECTION, and IMMORTALITY.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his SECRETS UNTO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS.

The answers to Revelation are hidden in the words of the prophets.

Revelation 22:19 Is a warning: are your answer coming from the prophets or a secular mind.

( 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

( 1 John 3:1-10 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in Him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
  • S Spencer Hid in Christ No judgment for Believers - In Reply on 1 Peter 4 - 5 years ago
Colossians 3:1-4. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

FOR YE ARE DEAD, AND YOUR LIFE IS "HID" WITH CHRIST IN GOD.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear,

THEN SHALL YE ALSO APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY. "Absent of the body present with the Lord"

CHRIST WAS JUDGED FOR OUR SINS NOT HIS!! AND HE ROSE AGAIN FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION!!

You see in the old testament in the book of Exodus, you see the blood of the lamb as an atonement to hide them from judgment.

Exodus 12:11-13. And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the "LORD'S PASSOVER."

For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute "JUDGMENT": I am the LORD.

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Christ is our passover, Jews/Gentiles =Church.

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Believers works what they have done will be tried with fire but not for salvation.

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 (KJV) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: "BUT HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED; yet so as by fire.

Romans 8:1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The Holy Scriptures when rightly divided always answers for itself. Therefore being in agreement with responses viewed in regards to Proverbs 24:4-5. The simplicity of scripture reveals in the next book Ecclesiastes 3:7 ", a time to be silent and a time to speak". In one biblical example: Jesus "my Lord and Savior" said nothing to defend the woman who was taken in adultery, "the very act", per her accusers. However, Jesus knew their foolishness was not concerned about the adulterous act. They attempted to invoke the old testament passage, Deut 17:5 which clearly say, "to bring the man and the woman,,,,". So where was the man? Therefore, Christ silence was knowing when not to answer. However, when they began to press him of what He says should be done, Now, they're bringing into light the thoughts of GOD to which Christ being the Word broke his silence to address their foolishness so they could go no further in this by simply saying, "He among you who is without sin, let him first cast a stone at her". The rest of the story is known. It is proper to allow scripture to interpret scripture in that way it's The LORD answering for what we believe to His Word. GOD Bless!

Where have you heard this? The word "spirit" and "ghost" are the same Greek word "pneuma" throughout the NT. As in John 14 the Holy Ghost is referred to as the "Spirit of truth" and the "Comforter". The Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. Just using a different English word "ghost or spirit".

    God Bless.

Steve, May the Spirit grace you with HIS wisdom and His understanding.

John 9 1-3 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

(vs 2) And his disciples ask him, saying, Master, WHO DID SIN, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

(vs 3) Jesus answered, Neither has this man sinned, or his parents: but that THE WORKS OF GOD should be manifest in him.

None of us can completely understand why God does certain thing, but we can believe through the working of the Holy Spirit and stand on his word that the outcome will both bring us into the light and glorify God in the process.

2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy, whereunto you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day (of the Lord)(CHRIST IN YOU) dawn, and the day star arise in you hearts.

Revelation 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.

Revelation 22:16 ...... I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together; and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice (the holy Spirit) saying in heaven (you, where Christ

dwells), Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of God (Christ in you), and the power of his Christ: for the ACCUSER of our brethern is cast down, which ACCUSED them (you) before our God day and night (they have no rest).

COME INTO MY REST AND CEASE FROM YOUR WORKS (your way of thinking)

May the SPIRIT grace you with ears to hear and eyes to see.

    Hello Jack Gutknecht,

I want to just clarify an issue that you pointed out here. This is not an error or typo. The texts are saying that King Solomon has 10 chariot cities with 4000 chariots in each city. Altogether he has 40,000 chariots. Hope this helps. God bless you

    Hello Skip,

No, it's not just you. I often feel the same way. But who are we but broken vessels needing to be mended? I believe that mending (KATARTIDZO) is a lifetime process. God is mending us each and every day. All we have to do is submit to Him and be faithful, as He is faithful in His promises to us.

I'd like to share with you from a biblical Greek perspective what I've learned about loving the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, and mind, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Our English bible makes it sound like the Lord is commanding us to go out and do these things. But how can we? We can't. That word love is the word AGAPE. In the flesh we cannot produce that type of love. Only God's Spirit can produce that love.

In the Greek text, those two "commandments" are not written in the command form. They are written as statements of fact. What it is telling us is that when God's Spirit comes into our lives, we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. And we will love our neighbor as ourselves. It's a statement of fact.

We often think that God commanded us to go out and love our neighbor. So what do we do? In the flesh, we go out and try to fulfill that love. And then we fail because the flesh cannot produce that type of love. You see, God is not commanding us to go out and love. He's telling us that we will love. It's a statement of fact. It's His Spirit that gives us the capacity to love Him and to love our neighbor.

Yes, Matthew 5:48 says "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." The Greek word for perfect means to function in purpose. You see, Jesus gives the example that God the Father, He makes the rain fall on the just and the unjust. He is no respecter of persons.

So He says that we, under the influence of God's Spirit, should be just like Him, Jesus, because that is what Jesus does. And so He is the representative of God's love.

Thanks for sharing that we are His sheep. Amen!

  • SkipVought - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 5 years ago
    Adam,

I agree with most of what you say. "Shall we continues to sin that grace may abound? God forbid!" And, yes. Progressives want to cherry pick, redefine reality and justify sinful behavior.

Remember, though, that although written by some 40 different authors across 1500 years, there is ONE timeless Author. The Bible CANNOT support opposing views as being true. The writer of Hebrews was addressing Hebrew believers who were being tempted to return to the old sacrificial system. He was arguing that Jesus was better than angels, better hope, better covenant, better promises, better sacrifice.

In Hebrews 6:4, he is warning about Jewish people going back to the old system. There is no sacrifice for sin there. Jesus' sacrifice is better. The ones that did leave and go back were never really saved to begin with. That's why he says in vs 9, although I'm talking like this, in your case I'm confident of better things about your salvation. Gotta read the whole passage.

In Hebrews 10:26, he's again saying that in the old sacrifice systems, "there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins." The Law was an instrument of judgement and death. There's no hope in The Law! Our only hope is in Jesus Christ!

Anyhow, I think that we are in agreement about much more than you think.

Hello fire fighter, thanks for your service.

I would like to comment on your post here. Yes the wine Jesus made (His first miracle), was alcoholic. Grapes preserved over certain time, produces wine alcohol. Do you know that cane juice over time produces rum which is very alcoholic? This is what you call the brewing process.

The difference between biblical use of alcohol and alcohol use today is, in biblical times it was used to preserve and spice food and drinks. But as usual, mankind always find a way to abuse everything. In today's day, the abuse still goes on even though we have refrigerators. We also found other use of alcohol like temperature gauges, fuel consumption, medical sciences and many other uses. And who knows, there might still be more use for it in the future.

My point here is, it's not the alcohol that's the problem, it's us using it inappropriately. Like the Apostle Paul said, a L I T T L E wine is good for the stomach. God bless you

Damien, if you are lost it is because you have fallen into satan's trap question. Hath God said? God's words have been preserved for us. He did this for us in the English language at the appointed time in this dispensation through the KJB. Other translations later using the wisdom of men and copyrighted for money create doubt about what God said and are the work of Satan. Believe God first and he will give you understanding.

Thank you for your love. God will justly lay conviction on our hearts and lives to bring needed changes regarding our needs (my needs). Thankfully it will not be us that has to cherry pick.which weights cloud our relationship with Jesus and interfere with His message to "Come". We just have to be obedient to the Spirit and there will be grace made available. God loves us, enough to cleanse our minds even those minds who are saved while rime remains. That we can be bold to carry these burdens to Him and not let our hearts be overtaken.

Good morning all! How is Sacha this day? I am thinking about looking out from the flat window and what you may see. I do hope you have love ones to help you with this and thats. I have never crossed a sea so far in my life, maybe someday still. I have a Native American by birth spiritual Christian brother who had two visions by dream just ahead of Covid 19 coming the the US. The Angel in his dream said that from across the sea which he could see in the finish by looking through the sea, that two events were to come. Not long after the first event would be another and not long after that may be the end. Perhaps the message was just for the brother. This vision was a year ago in early January. So I wonder, and so my eyes and ears and prayers wonder. Perhaps this brother's dream was only for him. Anyway, looking out of the flat with an enlightened heart their must be souls that are not ready. I am glad for this short time we and I include all, can meet here and discuss our relationships with Jesus to the best of our understandings. My love has increased, so I see the value. Keep the faith. Thank you!

    Carleton
