We can't let people take away our sense of judgment. There are things we are to judge. We are to judge rightly. ( Dt 25:2; Jn 7:24) Saints will judge world ( 1 Cor 6:2). Help me with being able to judge rightly without being judgmental.

This is a very significant portion of scripture..It is talking about the door finally being opened to anyone who was not Jew, having opportunity for salvation, through the Apostolic doctrine of Acts 2:38. Peter knew that they had recieved the Holy Spirot because as he preached, the Holy Ghost fell upon them like in Acts 2, and they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance signifying Spirit baptism, which led him to direct them all to Water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins. Neither of these baptisms are optional, but necessary for salvation. The book of the Acts of the Apostles is where the church began, and where we can observe how they applied what Jesus taught them.

LYNN: when I trusted Jesus it was the worst and the best day of my life. I didn't learn much in church when I was young. I heard about God and Jesus, but they didn't speak about the Holy Spirit. After a years of pain and loneliness the day of Salvation came. I received Jesus. The next morning everything looked the same but different. I did things without knowing why. Later I would find out it was the Holy Spirit. He comforted me while showing me how to be free of all the emotional pain I had lived. I started reading the Bible and haven't laid it down since. I have never known a love so deep and wide as God's love. Song of Solomon 2:16, 6:3, 7:10, I was smitten with the deepest feeling of belonging and being loved no matter what! If I made mistakes I was so afraid He'd stop loving me. It was day by day, and learning how to depend on someone to love me no matter what. Receive Jesus and his gift, Holy Spirit. You'll never walk alone again. Open the door of your heart. God cares.

Probably 6, 9, 16, 24, one of them, but I am not sure which, Incidentally, I would say that we can see God's purpose in this chapter.

(third comment): So those early sacrifices were only a shadow of the Perfect, Sinless, Lamb of God (Jesus Christ); i.e. an animal's death could never fully atone as a substitutionary payment for sin - it was only temporary till God's provision of HIS Lamb. (see Heb 9:6-28 for this). So Jesus, the Lamb of God (God's Word) became our substitution in death & our separation from God for all eternity. If Jesus had not come we would all go to hell & deserving of it. But "in due time" ( Rom 5:6), He came to give His Life on our behalf, so for ALL WHO BELIEVE, they would not perish in hell but have everlasting life ( Jn 3:16). But if Jesus remained dead in the tomb, then we would have no worthwhile sacrifice & we would still be guilty of our sins. But we know, that Jesus rose from the dead showing His Victory over the power of death & Satan, & God accepted His payment for our sins & so justified us ( Rom 4:25). Justification = Just as if we had never sinned. This only can come through Jesus.

You may know that in the Old Testament, God's people, the Israelites (Jews), had to perform various sacrifices, along with observance of days & various other instructions (see Book of Exodus & Leviticus). Normally, payment for our sin (any sin) against God is death, but in His Mercy, God instituted these sacrifices and given to remind the people that for their sin, they had to make offerings by sacrificing an unblemished animal (lambs, bulls, sheep, doves, etc.) to God. The priests did this on behalf of the people. God accepted their sacrifice but we know that this system was temporal until the appearing of God's Gift of His Word made human ( Jn 1:14). (see next comment No 3).

I don't know if He dangled the fruit or if the sin is Adam or Adam and eve; but God is the head of man and man the woman, and the man needs the woman as it is not right to live alone; she was made for him, and we must treat her right; which we have often failed to do; but i do know that God had a purpose; and He made man for that purpose, I would say; and it went, I say, as it should have to fulfill that purpose; and I would say, that maybe, it is being fulfilled today and every day as we make our decisions on scripture. It is your decision just as it is mine; and the other thing that i am sure of, is that I love the comments. Great stuff

Felix, so I've given you the meaning of Jesus Christ's Name & His incarnation (i.e. Word of God coming to Earth as a man to give God's Message & to give His Life for man's sins). You ask for more info, but you don't mention specifics. So I'll write further: Many people of different religions understand that Christians believe in three gods because they don't understand (& we ourselves can't fully comprehend the mystery of Almighty God). But in the Bible, God has shown us Himself throughout the ages as only One God ( Isaiah 43-45 often mentions God speaking as being only One). But God has revealed that He brings forth Commands & Words for His people, & He also sends out His Spirit to do His bidding on Earth (e.g. empower the prophets to prophesy, to direct worship to God, to work miracles, etc). So this is ONE God, but revealed to us in His Fullness: God, His Word & His Spirit. If one aspect of God is missing, then God wouldn't be God. (see next comment).

The word 'Rapture' is not a biblical word. It is an extra-biblical word to denote a 'snatching away' of the Bride of Christ. So this event, unheard of in the Old Testament, was mainly spoken of by the apostle Paul (1 Thes 4:13-17; 1 Cor 15:51-53; 2 Thes 2:2 (Day of Christ as opposed to the Day of the Lord); & the Lord spoke of His Coming during His Ministry on Earth, but those mostly referred to His 2nd Coming at the end of the Great Tribulation and dawn of His reign on Earth: Mt 24:30-31; Mk 13:24-37; Lk 17:34-37. To also state, many Christians also understand the Rapture to possibly take place mid way through Anti-Christ's reign, & others, that we will go through the Tribulation & raptured at the end. However, 2 Thes 2:7,8 speaks of the 'one' who prevents the Anti-Christ from appearing now. There is speculation on who/what this 'one' is. I hold that it speaks of the Holy Spirit in believers; that if He, Who restrains the anti-Christ, leaves, then the believers go at that time.

Peter, you're doing well in Genesis. I thought I knew it well too until someone showed me that Adam had dominion over everything except other humans that would be born.

I was shown how "racism" got its start. Probably Satan trying to bring down some joy of Gods creation. It's a hot subject when we aren't dealing with something like covid19. I'm bad about asking God why this, why that. I learned to read slower lol.

Glenda, the reference to Jerusalem ("street of that great City": Rev 11:8) is also made to the wicked city of Sodom ( Gen 13:13) & wicked country of Egypt ( Ezek 23:3; Ex 3:7 ff). This was the state of Jerusalem, for their wickedness not only by the Jewish leaders, but also in the sufferings & death of the Blessed Saviour. Then in Jn 19:17, the reference to Golgotha (place of a skull). Golgotha was in the vicinity of Jerusalem at a skull shaped hill; the Bible also calls this place, Calvary ( Lk 23:33). So there is no difference in these portions of Scripture - it is just the different names given to it & also figuratively refers to Sodom & Egypt.

Hi Lynn, I'm glad that you affirm to the existence of God Almighty; so many don't & wonder why so many distresses come upon them. I don't know your concerns or your spiritual state (when I say that, I mean whether you have repented of sins, turned to God's Son who gave His Life for you & me to bring us salvation, & received His Spirit in what the Bible calls, Re-birth (Read the Gospel of John chapter 3). God does care for each of us intimately but as is often the case, we want to receive good things from Him & not respond to Him as He wants us to (in other words, most people expect God to be like a Santa Claus, a benevolent person: cheerful & giving out gifts). Your 'feelings' could include so many things; but if I could share a thought: if one really desired someone or something or may be carrying emotional pain, to Christians we firstly ask, "what is God telling me in this? To trust Him, to wait, to take the first step, to forgive or reconcile & so on? He does care for you Lynn.

Deason, I would have to say that the devils, more accurately translated demons, they do believe in Jesus. They know exactly who He is. In Matthew 8:28-34 when Jesus healed the two demonics, notice the confession of the demons: They said what do we have to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Art thou come hither to torment us before the time.

They know who Jesus is. They recognize Him, and they confess who He is, Thou Son of God.

Also, you say you don't need to believe the whole bible to be saved. I agree. You don't have to believe any of the bible to be saved. The bible does not save you, Jesus Christ does. A person can still be saved without any knowledge of the bible. What sins are you referring to that a person does not need to repent of?

I think that i love that verse more than any other in Genesis 1 except maybe ver 29, as that tells us, I think, what the healthy foods are. We also done a poor job looking after the rest

Hi Deason, it appears that Jesus and the Bible disagrees with that belief. Previously cited scriptures among others are proof- you still didn't address those. Jesus directly said you need to repent and He said you need to obey Him. It sounds like you're trying to disagree with Jesus. No one is going to win an argument against Jesus. May God bless you.

Gregory, I hope you get other views. My understanding is that we do indeed need to separate ourselves (by involvement) from those who are engaged in things that are opposed to God's Holy requirements for us & godly living. However, 1 Cor:9-11, says that we are "not to keep company (separate) with fornicators, etc. of this world (grave sinners), yet, not altogether..., for then ye must needs go out of the world". So I see, a separation (no union or fellowship) with evil, but still to be in touch (contact) with them, or else where is our witness to them - how will they see the difference between godliness & worldliness? The Church has failed miserably today in presenting a strong witness of the Righteousness of God & call to Repentance. We send out missionaries to distant lands who do great work in the Power of the Spirit, but we remain noticeably quiet when we should stand up against the wickedness of our Govts' satanic policies, & the works of evil running rampant around us.
