John 9: 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. Jesus performed many many miracles in front of the Pharisee Jews to verify his ministry, including raising the dead and healing the disabled. He gave sight to a man born blind who saw both physically and spiritually who Jesus was and acknowledged him. Even the blind man knew the miracles of Jesus came from above.

Pharisee Jews saw the miracles and instead of believing in the ministry of Jesus, they choose to discredit him claiming his miracles were from the devil. Physically they could see, spiritually they were blind.

John 10:21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

Because the Pharisees had sight they were sinners already

Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. All men are guilty of this?

Peter and others who were chosen,saw Christ before the day of Pentecost.Peter somehow has settled it in His heart that Christ has forgiven him for his denial,Christ giving Him authority to feed His sheep.Peter was certainly more than humbled by it all!The Jews are relentless towards him and his brothers in Christ. Claiming after they received the holy Ghost they were full of wine.Remember Peter has a temper.The first thing Peter does is convict them of their sin. He proclaims King Davids confession and its fulfillment!The very King David these Jews professed ,who's words have been fulfilled.Peter comes at them not with a sword,but with the word, they realize and confess their sin!The power in Peters words proved that indeed they had received the holy ghost.If your not convicted of sin and u don't have a need for confession, you are in the wrong church!The holy spirit moves and works in us through the word of God , moving us to confess ours sins one to another! She has nothing to fear as far as her salvation goes. In the human sense, a bastard is someone who has been born to parents out of wedlock. She is not at fault. The Jewish leaders even considered Jesus to be a bastard child because Mary was pregnant before the marriage became official. If you remember, Jesus told the religious leaders that "You are of your father the devil." Their response was "we be not born of fornication." You see, they considered Jesus to be an illegitimate child, or bastard. But we know better.

As far as salvation goes, your granddaughter is safe. Spiritually, we cannot be bastard children, because we are born of God's Spirit. We are legitimate children of God, and He does not see us as bastards. We are God's children. He has given us to His Son. And Jesus promised us that all whom the Father has given to Him, He will not lose one, not a single one. That's Christ's promise to us. Your granddaughter needs to know that she is safe in His powerful grip. God bless!

The the Bible meaning and modern meaning of bastard are not the same. Looking into the context will usually clear up the explanation and meaning of the term.

Carol: when you are born again; Jesus took all that generational curses ( Deuteronomy 28) on himself. It's part of the first Covenant. We have a new and better covenant. Jesus as the lamb of God performed the 'walking through the blood' part of a new covenant'.

He shows us in Matthew 12 that it is not sinful to perform work to eat a meal or to stop off on your way to church to get your goat out of ditch.

We are no longer under the law. The law is a school master to teach us what it is/was.

Some may disagree with me but I think if you have to work weekends then you can attend church on a Wednesday. We are told not to forsake ASSEMBLING together. If you attend on a Wednesday, God knows where you are and you are available to encourage other believers.

Jesse Christ was not talking about the food, rather the men who ate the unclean food as in this scriture.

avoiding unclean food is a health thing, not a salvation issue. You would not believe how many diseases pork can transmit to mankind. The diet laws are actually scientifically sound advice and the creator knew what he was doing.

Jesus said in John 6:40, "And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Everybody that the Father draws to Christ will come. And everybody that comes to the Son and receives Him, Jesus will not lose a single one.

For those who receive Christ, what He expects from us is faithfulness. We are to humble ourselves before Him, submit to His will in our lives, and be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Jesus gave us the command deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. ( James 4:7-10, Romans 12:2, Matthew 16:24). Submitting ourselves to God's transformation process, and allowing Him to renew our minds through a continuous study of His word, is the acceptable, and perfect will of God for us. ( Romans 12:2).

my granddaughter which I adopted is trying to understand the meaning of bastard in the kjv her bilogical mother and father were never married. so she wants to know if she is a bastard. In Romans chapters 5 and 6, 1st Corinthians 15 and then in 2nd Corinthians chapter 5, among other passages, we can see that our old sinful nature will be done away with and that we will fully experience our new nature as the born again in Jesus Christ. This new nature (Christ in us) is sinless, free of corruption. We being crucified with Christ have all our sins forgiven, nailed to the cross. Romans chapters 7 and 8 detail the struggle between our old nature and our new nature; we can and still do commit sin on occasion. The victory is in Christ Jesus. The second death has power over those who have rejected Jesus Christ and remain in their unforgiven sins.

So there is no such thing as generational curses

Christians are not bound by the Jewish dietary laws listed in Leviticus Chapter 11. In Acts 10:9-16, Peter was given a vision, and animals of every kind were shown to him, and a voice from heaven saying rise, kill, and eat. Peter thought it was a trick because he believed he still had to abide by the Jewish law, and he couldn't eat anything "unclean." But the voice in Verse 15 says "What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common."

Now if you stop right there, it gives us a hint as to what this message is all about.

If God calls something clean, we don't call it unclean! He is not undoing the dietary laws. He's not even talking about animals here. But please know this, what God has cleansed, we do not call common. Believers are not bound by any of the Jewish Laws. We have been set free by Christ.

However, we have to be careful with that freedom. True freedom is when we are not only free to do things, but free not to do them, if it causes a brother/sister in Christ to stumble.

I would just add that Jesus was brought before Caiaphas to be prosecuted. And once the sentence was passed, He was sent to Pontius Pilate.

Pilate was the Roman governor and head of the entire area for the Roman government. The Roman government was the only official agency that could pronounce the death sentence on someone.

The Jews were not allowed to pass the death sentence, especially crucifixion. So they brought Jesus to Pilate so that Pilate could give the death sentence.

Hebrews 4:10 says "For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His." The writer is going back to creation, and he's saying if you surrender to Christ, you will be doing just what God did. You will cease from your own works, and you will enter into God's rest. In 6 days, God created all things. And on the 7th day, He entered into His rest and finished His work. We are still in that 7th day right now called the Time of the Gentiles. What is interesting in the creation account, it says "and it was evening and morning," for each day except the 7th day. But in Genesis Chapter 2, it never says the 7th day ended. It's because it's still today! Many people don't notice that in Genesis Chapter 2, at the end of the 7th day, it doesn't say evening and morning on the 7th day. It's because the Sabbath rest, in creation, parallels and gives the gospel message that Jesus Christ is our Sabbath rest, spiritually. We enter into His rest at our salvation!

Indeed God has made a way for each of us to prosper despite our condition/s.

Why did Jesus change the names of some (Paul and Peter) because they became apostles?

The Pharisees asked "Are we blind also?" They're expecting a no. They said we are not spiritually blind, we can see. Jesus said, therefore your sin remains because you are blind just like everybody else. Jesus came to give spiritual sight to the spiritual blind. A person who has not received Christ is spiritually blind and spiritually poor! Jesus said "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven." No matter what physical or material condition we are in, a person without Christ is in spiritual poverty. Our spirit is dead in trespasses and sin. That's why when a person is born of the Spirit of Christ, their spirit is made alive, and they are raised from the spiritual dead and are no longer spiritually blind. Jesus is saying that because you say you can see, and that you do not need to be healed, you're still in your sin. But if you can see that you are spiritually blind, and that your sin has cut you off from a relationship with God, Jesus said He can heal that!

The 7th day of the week, or Saturday, is which is when God rested and when Sabbath is. In many languages Sunday - Friday are named after planets, but Saturday is named after the Sabbath, so Italian, Spanish, etc call it Sabado which literally means the Sabbath.

Definitely referring to Christians. It's addressed to the whole world, not Israel specifically as Isaiah 48 is addressed. God gives many promises to the gentiles in this passage, to the point that Zion (a reference to Israel) cries out, "You've forgotten us!" God uses comforting language after Zion's concern is expressed. It reminds me of the prodigal son's brother who can't believe how well his father is treating the prodigal; but the father comforts and reminds him that he still has an inheritance. I read that this is the regathering of Israel in a commentary, but I don't see that anywhere in this passage. A parallel passage is in Revelation 7:15-16; and it's clear that this is a reference to people of all nations, tribes, tongues, people, etc...
