    after the loss of her son is it wrong to ask why it was not her instead of her son and pray for death
  • Steve Moyer you only allow so many words on Acts 7:38 - 6 years ago
    I have alway been confused with this verse in the KJB;

    Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:r

    It reads, "a church in the wilderness!" There were no buildings that people called a "church" when Acts was written. Also, many believe the KJV is the only reliable translation. Do you think our Father's Holy word would have another man's name on it Acts 17:24-25 reads in the KJV, 4 "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

    25 Neither is worshipped with men"

    I sure wish people would seek the LORD'S wisdom in these insane times; then they would realize they've been put under a demonic spell by the media as it repeats over and over the same drivel. No wonder people are falling for whatever they're told to do! Please wake up and seek the truth!

    1 Peter 4:17 "Judgment begins at the house of God","The fields are white and ready for harvest". Satan final days are very near. There is nothing hid that shall not be revealed. Christ calls all people to come and eat of the bread of life, and drink of his body his blood shed for the sins of the world.There is salvation in none other. Eternal life awaits those who believe His word. In the last days God will pour out His spirit upon all flesh. Will you be able to receive it If you are not sure of these things than how will you believe in heavenly things. There is ONE intercessor between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. Read Job. Satan has no power than what is given from above! confess Him

    Praying for you, I too have trouble with anger, it is really hard work on our part, keep your eyes on God and look up scripture on anger and read and reread and pray, pray, pray. I also turn to Charles Stanley Sermons on utube. He is an awesome preacher. He has several sermons on anger and the one I am currently listening to is the struggles of a believer. Awesome message. I take one of his sermons at a time and listen to it for a week twice a day.

    Thanks for those insights into your ministry, Mishael: you are indeed a mighty servant of the Lord and doubtless, much fruit will abound to your account from your labours. Whether in Oklahoma or where I am here in Western Australia, the Word of God will surely be like healing ointment in our dry & thirsty lands. We pray for America - you all are doing it tough; but God is Sovereign and He will empower His people to be "a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish...and to walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering & a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. ( 2 Cor 2:15, Eph 5:2). Every blessing in your endeavours.

  • Chris - In Reply on Tobit 1:2 - 6 years ago
    If God asked me that question without any further qualification, I think He meant:'whether I believed that His Son's Work on the Cross was perfect & final, whether my sins had been forgiven according to the Scripture, & whether I am living the crucified life' I have no doubt in Jesus' Work on the Cross & the forgiveness of my sin through the gift of faith, but I know that living the crucified life is & always will be hard. As a sinner saved by His Grace, I can only live as He wants me to, by dying daily & living victoriously through His Spirit. With bowed head, I fall short - but with raised head, I know He understands & His continual Work continues in my life to make me more like His Son.

    Revelation 20:10 tells us that the Devil, with the beast (anti-christ) & the false prophet will be cast into the Lake of Fire (not hell), and be tormented day & night forever & ever. I understand that Satan & his cohorts will finally be banished into this fiery lake & therefore sin & suffering will no longer be the unholy blots on humanity. In hell now, Satan has a field day bringing the majority of mankind into its burning bowels; but at the time of Jesus' reign on Earth, he too will be suffering eternally with all those who have not bent the knee to Almighty God & made Christ's sacrifice something to be despised.

    I think many people really want to get out of the pews and reach out to the lost, but they're bashful and not sure how to start. We need teachers. Have to study to show thyself approved. Pray for the harvest. Have some uncomplicated tracts. I like non-combative chick tracts. Most everybody likes a gospel comic book. I put my churches location on them. I take Gospel of John Bibles in a backpack and McDonald food coupons. I leave tracts on bus benches. God will surely bless us for expenses. Almost everyone will let us pray for them. I just know Christians are starving for following Jesus in a very public way. The pleasure of sharing Jesus is worth defeating fear of mankind. I think of Paul :)

    With the uncertainty of life & what the next day or hour brings, your pressing enquiry to Christ's salvation offer, comes at the right time. Many people say they believe in God & that is enough. But that is not enough, as even the apostle James reminds us in James 2:19, "Thou believest there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble". And the devil & his demons know that their time is short ( Rev 12:12) and it is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God ( Heb 10:31). You are near to God because you love Him & want to know His Way of Salvation - the devil also knows the way but will never take it & tries his hardest to prevent others doing so. God bless.

    The first time I went evangelizing I was outside of a bar I used to go to. A group came out laughing, making fun. I said y'all are going to fall into hell, let me show you how to ascend into heaven. They said we know we're going to hell and ducked around the corner. I went home so discouraged. Head on the table apologizing to the Lord. He replied almost audibly and tender. He said are you through doing it your way I said yes!!! He showed me how to spend time praying to the Lord of the Harvest and I would pray for Divine appointments. In Tulsa, we'd go in groups of 2. If people would just step over their fears of man and the unknown, they would step into a partnership with Jesus and joy!

    Diana, I'm not sure what you are referring to with Philip. Acts chapter 8 gives the account of Philip's ministry in Samaria & his meeting with the Ethiopian eunuch on the way to Jerusalem. Philip was not restricted in where he could baptize. Could you elaborate as to what Scripture you saw about this, or your understanding
  • Chris - In Reply on Exodus 20:23 - 6 years ago
    Brooke, this is even difficult for mature Christians to fully understand, as God presents Himself in a way that is beyond the realm of our human understanding & experience. We believe that God is One God, but He, in His Power, sent forth His Word to Earth to fulfil His Will. This Word was made a man, Jesus, (see Jn 1:1-14) for the sole purpose to present God's Word to His people & to give His Life for them. Jesus would pay the price of their sin through death & resurrection, so by believing, the people would not have to be cast in hell as punishment. And, those who believed had help to live this new life, so were given God's Spirit. This is God's Fullness:Father, Son & Spirit: ONE God only.

    Satan, the god of this World, has blinded the minds of them which believe not ( 2 Cor 4:4), & he has been helped by ungodly parents & governments who have done away with Scripture teaching in homes & schools that might alert these young hearts from hearing the Truth & considering the Love & Mercy of God. A sad state of affairs that leads us down the path of Sodom & Gomorrah:"and God saw that her cry was great & because her sin was very grievous"( Gen 18:20). How long will He be able to withhold His Anger Except for 2 Pet 3:9, we know that God's long suffering towards us is that He waits for others to come to repentance. Also, I thought that the U.S. had largely legalized same sex marriage.

    Mishael, I'm generally happy if someone prefers to use Yahweh instead of God, only if they remain true to using the other Names attributed to God in Scripture. We only use God & LORD, which misses out on the real usage of His Name. Interesting to note that you did street evangelism. I was part of the Open Air Campaigners in my younger days when I used to take a group from our Fellowship for street singing, preaching & tract distribution. Invariably, we were despised & spat upon, but of course the Spirit moves in the hearts He has prepared to receive the Word & come to salvation. The nursing home ministry would be so vital, but even here so many remain hard-hearted & resistant to His pleas.

    What a great psalm to read and pray daily. Keeps you in perspective of who God is vs those who are trying to destroy our way of life. Verse 15 gives me the victory I need daily and right this second. Was today's word on line. (4/14/2020).

    Mr.Bodi, You will see the word "sanctification" in the scripture, and there is nothing wrong with your memory. In the process of sanctification, there is a cleansing process taking place in you. Romans 6:5+6, teach you what is happening to your body. Every time you read the scripture ,the holy spirit is directing you into truth and is teaching you what is most needful. read the parables that Christ teaches.Christ will use nature to describe himself and who He is.The gospel are the first 4 books and the most needful.There is nothing wrong with your memory.Understand that you have been born into sin, and your flesh is opposed to anything that is of God, including His words. always eyes on HIM!

    Jerusalem was never identified as Babylon; spiritually she was called Sodom and Egypt, but never Babylon. Rome, however, was identified as Babylon; it was a code name for that "Great City". Roman Catholicism is not the true Bride of Christ; it is a counterfeit of Christianity, thus identified as a whore.

  • Fred Scanlan - In Reply on Psalms 50 - 6 years ago
    Read The gospel of John Chapter 3! These words you ask are Nicodemus exact words "what must I do to be saved". The gift of salvation is given to us in Jesus Christ. When you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you your sins. Baptism is a sign to the world that you have given yourself to HIM! Repentance is the beginning of your journey, into a everlasting life in Him! Your love for His word is all you need, Her does the rest! . Baptism doth now save us. Your confession is what He wants. You can be baptized in your bathtub! A fellow believer can baptize u using these words. "I baptize you in the name of the Father ,the Son. and Holy Spirit". God Bless You on your journey!

    I remember as a new convert, in Christ when my spirit was trouble and I ask the Lord to show me what it was, once it was reveal to me I didn't know what to do, but call on the only one who could help me, the Lord comfort me in one of my drakes hour. He lead me where I needed to go and provided for me like know other.

    we must remember we are never alone God is always watching over us and always will, I thank the Lord for never given up on me, May will be nine years of never looking back, we need to look forward and let the Lord lead the way Amen.

    Jesus allowed Lazarus to die to show His power. He has also healed and delivered others from death during his ministry. Not one of those raised from the dead were given a glorified body...Jesus was the first, and an example for us all. Remember His burden was to redeem mankind from sin and death through His blood.
