I'm not one to argue because I believe we all seek out our own salvation but Luke 6:38 tells me to tithe... Luke 11:42 says you ought to have done. Now, if you don't see it the way I do, then don't do it but you should never tell someone that it's not in the Bible until you see the scripture how it is intended for every single person God created. I have a definite difference in my life since Jesus is the center of my universe and I would give all I have if he told me to. What I get back is between me and my savior because all good i receive, I get from him and obeying him has increased all that I have....and yes, it is deliberate tithing from the joy of my heart.

Hi Joseph we know there were no Book Names, Chapters, Punchuation or small particles; is it as etc it would have been a long read for sure but I do see your point it is why I mostly share more than the verse I'm focusing on others feel its better to soom in on what they feel is the most important part of the Chapter but it still is better to read in Contex as we seek to do.

I like to listen to the narrator read the scriptures out loud, as I read along in my bible. Using both sight and hearing helps me to retain God's holy word better. I did catch a mistake the narrator made in reading Genesis 12:19. His words did not line up with God's words. Humans make mistakes. God does not.

No one is good except for JESUS. He is the only one that never ever sinned. God accepted Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. We live in a fallen world. Bad things happen to everyone. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We all need to be saved from spending eternity in the Lake of Fire. NO sin can stand in the presence of a holy and just God. When we BELIEVE that Jesus died in our place to pay the sin debt that we owe, then we are forgiven of past, present and future sins. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23. Only JESUS is good. He is God the Son.
  • Mark on Job 31 - 6 years ago
verse 36 shows to me, the analogy of Christ our Saviour carrying his cross on his shoulder whilst wearing the crown of thorns. The book written by Jobs' adversaries is to be taken on his shoulder and worn as a crown, just as Christ our Saviour carried the cross and our sins.
I love our Lords book. So many layers and so much wisdom, and I am only just starting my journey to our Lord.

The woman gave all she had and if you're going to use that as the principle of giving them we should do the same. In the passage I posted giving is showing one a faithful steward but only if the giving is from the heart and not grudgingly or of necessity. We give expecting nothing in return. If anyone gives with the intent they will receive in return it's not biblically. I agree giving is a biblical principle but tithing in the new testament isn't. If you choose to call your giving tithing that's up to you. But if we're going to use the biblical principle of tithing then we have a lot of problems. It went well beyond 10% and didn't include money. I guarantee you no one tithes biblically.

Because of the uniqueness of man, many things contend to occupy his soul with the aim of making him loose sight of who he is. Because we naturally tilt toward the physical, we end up loosing touch of the spiritual and the consequences are rebellion, loss of identity, loss of purpose in life, and of power to bring them to bear and eternal death as a result. A process of re acquisition was started and headed by Christ and an ultimate price was paid with his life. Now, the blood is made available so that we can re access our original position with him, the saints, the prophets and the apostles in a brotherhood relationship where he is the anchor leading us to God through the holy spirit. JESUS.

Thank you Chaplain...I know God would not have sacrificed his only begotten son to save us just to watch us die in our sin....Jesus died so we could live....and Jesus would say, go and sin no more...his stripes were our healing from sin...we are loved...not condemned through our precious savior Jesus.

Well said Samantha. Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
    Hebrews 8:12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

When the disciples was in the upper room, did the received the holy ghost twice?
  • Samantha H - In Reply - 6 years ago
God does not seek out people to condemn but he sent his son so that we might be saved. Blaspheming the Holy Ghost is not as easy as it sounds and to commit sin without knowing what you are doing will not condemn you but if you know the Holy Ghost and blaspheme or hate and rebuke the Holy Ghost, then you condemn yourself because you cannot be a child of God and disrespect the third Head of the Trinity, that is a sure way of being condemned....and danger of means don't do it, not do it and never have forgiveness again. That would take away the reason for the cross. God wants to forgive us...all who seek him.

I believe that tithing is a form of faithfulness to the church in which you attend. Jesus told the parable of the woman who gave two mites as giving more that a rich man because it was all she had. Since I began tithing-years ago-I can see the blessings of God in my own life and I think he shows that if you shall give then you shall also receive and what we bind on Earth, we bind in Heaven and what we loose on Earth, we loose in Heaven so I give and I believe that there will be blessings for acknowledging that God gives me all I have and I am thankful by giving back a percentage of what I am given. I love my Father and I am a cheerful giver and I encourage others to do the same.

Lavonne, so sorry for your loss!! I don't know what we would do without the Lord! Thank you for sharing your heart w me. There is a very major burden we are carrying right now. Because of legalities, I cannot share, but it is a major event. We thought it would be resolved yesterday, but it looks like it maybe another week please pray for God to intervene!

I know this from my own experience, when you give your heart and life totally to Jesus, he will make you feel like all that is behind you, is no longer you. The old person dies away and a new person becomes who you are in Christ. He is our peace that passes understanding and God forgives our sin, whether it was actually sin or not, it goes away as far as the east is to the west...yes that is scripture. We do not look back because the past no longer defines the person who we become. It doesn't happen overnight but with prayer, Bible study and a good solid church to attend, we begin to see that light that Jesus is living within us...that is our peace.

if all are so good then why this?
Zephaniah 2:5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the
Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the
Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

Obadiah 1:18 - And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a
flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour
them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath
    spoken it.

I have two problems with the Bible: 1. Chapters and verses have little to do with content. it would have been better if it were divided by event and do away verse numbers. 2. Verses are often removed from content when they are used to prove an unrelated position. I believe that John 3:16 is one of the best examples. What does it mean to you? Read John 3:11-21. This makes a full teaching of Jesus to Nicodemus and extends to us. I am working on a Study of the Sermon on the Mount which will begin with John 3 then Matthew 5-7 and end with John 14. Has anyone seen the need for correction, other than me?

Whosever abideth in him sinneth not, whosever sinneth hath not seen him neither known him. V.#6. He that committeth sin is of the devil for the devil sinneth from the beginning, for this purpose the son of God was manifest, that he might destroy the works of the devil, v#8. Scripture is pretty clear on sin. You sin, you looze!!! You sin, you're a child of Satan!!! You looze!!! You looze now and you pay for your own sins. The wages of sin is death. A Christian is to he a new creature in Christ. No child of God is a sinner! Preposterous! Be ye holy for I am holy. Thus saith the Lord. Those who say they are sinners are enjoying their sinful ways! They're going to hell!!! Don't doubt it!!!

Verses 15-17. Pay great attention to Jesus' questions to Simon Son of John. Two times Jesus asked Simon "Do you love "Agape" me? Each time Simon responded Yes Lord I "Phileo" you. He couldn't understand that Jesus meant agape. The third time Jesus came down down to Simon's low level of understanding of love. Jesus then asked him Do you "phileo" me?
We must listen well in the spirit to understand what God is saying to us.

Thank you Jeffer for sharing your Heart Commitment to the Lord with us. We indeed do have a very Loving and Compassionate Godhead. Our Abba Father gave His All for us yes His much Loved Son Jesus our Lord and Saviour who is One with Him in Spirit and with The Holy Ghost 1Jn5:7 and Jesus our Good Shepherd also chose to die for us even knowing He would be Seperated from His Father because of our Sin, He could have asked to be rescued but He also Loved us Greatly and knew there was no other way for us to be with the Father and be saved.

Big difference between 'For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh' which instead of 'purifying', you said 'cover'. There is a big difference between those two. The same difference as between Forgiveness' and 'Remission'!!! The New Covenant is the Gospel of Remission!!! Good News! Holy To The Lord

Yes Jonny Baptism signifies Christ died on the cross, went into the tomb, then arose & ascended back to God. This tells God you believe this and likewise God will always be there for you, only a prayer away. Offer prayers in Christ's name--that is your "password" to God.

I believe the canaanite women were attractive and that is why Israelite men wanted / married them. sadly many men marry for looks and many women marry for money. that is not a match made in heaven.
