The sin of compromise, makes one just as guilty as the perpetrators of sin. It caused the presence of God to depart, even before the ark of God, was taken by the Philistines. Eli seemed only to fear for the ark, and lost the reverential fear for the God of the ark. This possibly was the cause of Eli's sin of compromise. So many times we want God's presence and not want to do His will.

I love this psalms, it always quiet my spirit when I am going through a tough time in my life. God always brings us through if we keep the faith and not give up.

A lot of nice people can identify themselves a with a religious Organization but David in this Psalms says; the Lord is my Shepherd. In the days of David; a Shepherd knew his sheep by name and the sheep knew Shepherd's voice so much that they would run from the voice of a stranger. they were well acquainted with each other thus David boldly declared that the Lord my shepherd. Job may have lost everything but he did not lose his faith in God. In v. 15 he says "Though God slay me I will trust Him".

Folks, be careful not to be mislead here. people take chapters like this, and create so many theories and use it to get followers. For example, is this talking about fallen angels? We don't really know here. "Sons of God" could have simply been Seth's line (people doing God's Will), and the wicked Cain's line. Giants could be big tall people or even dino's, we really don't know. Just be careful

Submitting to God is a daily process. In this great controversy between good and evil a total surrender to the power of God, through a life of devotion and sacrifice, is our only remedy to overcome evil. The more we focus on Jesus and His Righteousness then the things of the world will go strangely dim. I pray that we will all love Jesus more, so that our appetite for sinning will become extinct.

Here I think God our creator is warning us about the worship of false gods and be faithful and believe in him.

How do we apply "idle" to Matthew 12:36 as an example? The definitions are several, such as, useless, worthless, a waste of time etc. It seems quite important that we will be judged by what we say? Some will provide other promises that assure our salvation. We then have conflicts in our understanding. I think of the different computer sites that occupy our time with idle contributions.
