"And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart." They wink at each other, and have a nice little chuckle and congratulate themselves for distancing themselves from the Saints of Jesus. But God scorns them!

End of Day 7 of Reading the Bible in a Year. God shows mercy to Hagar as she is run off by by Sarah. God is fulfilling part of His promise to Abraham concerning the number and importance of Abraham's "seed" but the culmination and exaltation of the promise will be fulfilled through Isaac.

"And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation." Up until the mid 1960's the remains of the ark could be seen on Mt. Ararat in Southern Turkey/Armenia: a stunning testimony of the fact, that ONE DAY WILL BE THE LAST DAY FOR THIS PRESENT EVIL WORLD! And the Word which God has spoken is what will judge us all!
  • BG on Genesis 20 - 8 years ago
Once again Abraham sinned by trusting the flesh and lying about Sarah his wife to another man. It is a demonstration to us all that we tend to return to the sinful ways of the flesh that are familiar and not trust the God that has proved Himself in these areas in the past.
  • BG on Genesis 19 - 8 years ago
It is very clear that the cities were wicked and a demonstration of that wickedness was the sexual perversions of the men of the city of Sodom. Lot vexed his soul and lost the majority of his family.
  • BG on Genesis 18 - 8 years ago
vs 19 - God's foreknowledge of Abraham's dependence upon God for good works is shown here. Abraham, will by faith, act upon the promises and truth God has given him.

KJV remains the only Bible I have ever read in my 62 years . It is the only Bible needed as God's word is most clear but if ever clarity is needed simply be silent and listen to God with your heart. Not one person is deserving of God's grace but he gave it to us anyway and through Jesus Christ we all have eternal salvation and shall inherit the kingdom of God and dwell in His house
  • Woody on 1 Corinthians 6 - 8 years ago
A very clear declaration that not even one has lived a life that would exclude them from those who shall not inherit the kingdom of God. We are instructed yet again to refrain from judging others. Jesus Christ gave his life for our salvation and through the grace of God we shall inherit the kingdom of God. It’s a promise to us by God. Our loving Father has infinite love for us and all are saved
  • Ren on Genesis 32 - 8 years ago
@Lu2677 then how do you explain Exodus 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. God does not lie this is what he spoke to Moses.
  • A disciple on Hebrews 4 - 8 years ago
AMEN Christina!!! How shall it be known that God hath wrought in us, without the effects? Can the grace of Jesus Christ be in my heart, and my manner of life, spirit and nature reflect His image and likeness? Should we then instead mislead ourselves by stage-playing and flattering talk and love songs to Jesus, and our heart not really be for Him? So faith without WORKS, DEEDS, ACTION, IS DEAD!
  • A disciple on Luke 12 - 8 years ago
Avigayil; You bring up a very important point; which, unfortunately, is too much neglected in the most elementary teaching of Christians. A parable is a short story that uses familiar events to illustrate a religious or ethical point (Collins Dictionary). Jesus said, "Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God..Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?"
  • Timothy Robert Benton on Matthew 7 - 8 years ago

About a thousand years before the flood, Enoch preached about the coming cataclysm of the actual Day of the LORD and the end of the world; to which the prophecy of the deluge was to be a sign for instruction warning those who were about to give themselves over to the devil. The simplicity of building a ship for escape was evidently too much for proud men to accept, so they all perished without it.
  • A disciple on Genesis 6 - 8 years ago
If some want to follow voices of strangers and have itching ears for ridiculous fables that serve absolutely nothing to the advancement of faith, love and virtue in Christ; LET THEM! For the rest of us who seek the Lord Jesus, the message of a hopelessly lost and degenerate world about to be utterly destroyed moves us to move with fear and build the only means of salvation from the doom to come.
  • Rachel on John 2 - 8 years ago
This verse is about obedience then and for us today; "Whatsoever He saith, do it."
This is one of the most profound verses in scripture. It's believed to be the first public statement from His mother's lips in support of His diety. It's not about the wine as much as it is about obedience. Thank you.
  • A disciple on Ezra 6 - 8 years ago
"..the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel.." First, they were of the children of Israel; secondly, they were they who separated themselves from the filth of the heathen to be JOINED UNTO THEM. The Gentiles who believe do not replace Israel!
  • GodIsLove on 1 Samuel 10 - 8 years ago
Very interesting read. So much of the feel of the flow of it reminds me how our Church leaders must struggle today. Especially the Preachers. God called Men and Women who have been called to serve and having to make the choice of whether to act or to hid. Those who decide to act then have the extra burden of those who despise them. Those who rather see failure instead of offering prayer and supp.
  • A disciple on Ezra 6 - 8 years ago
"And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat, and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy." This was their reward after enduring MUCH opposition, and for holy obedience to finishing the work of building the House of God.
  • Servant of God on Luke 1 - 8 years ago
Luke was the best of the biographers of his day, bringing forth progenitors of Jesus and John, who would change the Spiritual landscape of Israel, God sending the High Priests, John and Jesus, being cousins, each having a role to play, each being miraculously born to righteous Jews! For the Jews sought out the Messiah to bring the word of God,to further their understanding of King of Kings, YHWH

Mercy for the weak and healing for the vexed, needed by believers living here in world.Hear the rich man in hell with a new understanding of the scriptures and prophets, although too late for him.Believers are ready to leave this world behind at any time because it is painful/difficult to be here.Forgiveness is only found in Christ having paid for all your sins.Either you have it NOW,or you don't.
  • Mild Bill on Psalms 3 - 8 years ago
The longer we are in this world, the enormity of sin we see and understand/experience the effects of.Our confidence in God has he given to us through exposure to his word."Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing the word of God."Rom.10:17 God will triumph over the tens of thousands of peoples, and we will see it,in his timing,at his pleasure, as his people have blessings unto the remainder of eternity.
  • Arielle on James 2 - 8 years ago
this is a good bible verse
  • Psalm70 on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
The world is wicked as it ever was. There are lots of evils that our Lord hates that are lauded today -- 'gay pride', abortion, pride in general, hatred of God, disobedience to parents, music and movies and games with evil themes. We must resist the spirit of this world, and prepare ourselves for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, He is coming very shortly to judge the living and the dead.

He was using the names of star constellations which were known at that time. Planets or stars within those constellations were, often much later, individually named with the same or similar names. And God is INDEED Great!!! ~

  • Avigayil on Luke 12 - 8 years ago
For me, the verses do contain hidden meaning. They are parables. They weren't meant for everyone to understand. The disciples had to have the words you are reading revealed to them. They had to ask Yeshua what they meant. The Word is "living and active"...we need to ask Him to reveal these hidden treasures to us as well. See Jeremiah 33:3, and then 1 Thess 5:1-9. What times and seasons?
