Day 5 of the KingJamesBibleonline reading the Bible through in one year. Had to play a little "catch up" but that is ok. You can clearly see Abram's growing dependence upon God to throughout his life. He wasn't perfect but he was learning to trust the Lord more and more.
  • Daniel Hulse on Proverbs 5 - 8 years ago

  • Dr. Dee! on Joshua 3 - 8 years ago
When I read this chapter, I can hear the message: "Wade In The Water" ~ For God Is Going To Trouble The Waters" meaning regardless if you on the edge of water or find yourself deep down in water if we can Trust Christ, turn it all over to Him, He will trouble the water on our behalf and cause us to pass through our Waters of Trails, Waters of Situations, Waters of Trouble.
  • Ray Jay on James 2 - 8 years ago
All the good works you do and attempt to do are because of your faith.

One thing to remember, when you do those good works 100% of glory should also go to God; which again, a work (testimony) you will do, because of your faith. Amazing!

PS. I Need to be better at what I just preached above.

  • A disciple on Haggai 1 - 8 years ago
"This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built... Consider your ways." NOW in this present time, while we're here; NOW with deceitful and treacherous enemies working against us; NOW is the time to be holy and work and build the House of God. We do not wait till heaven to become holy! If we are not fit for His presence when He comes, we will only have shame.
  • Brianna vs. 1-4 on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
These scriptures reminds us that problems with our fellow man are sure to come. However, it all reminds us of how to deal with "stumbling". It's not wrong to rebuke our brother for the wrong they made have made against us, but if they ask for forgiveness, then we are to sincerely forgive them from the heart. A hard but valuable lesson.
  • Debra Bull on Joshua 2 - 8 years ago
Its all about God's amazing grace, his purpose and plans for our lives, at the appointed time He can and will change our lives, no matter how we started out, if we obey the day we here his voice it does'nt have to end that way, but will end in total victory, our God is sovereign!!!!

  • Brianna vs. 13-14 on Titus 2 - 8 years ago
These verses help us to remember to be patient. Reflecting on vs. 14 will help us to be joyful while we wait. It tells us of the blessings in store for those who keep their integrity. Soon, we will be set free from every form of sin, lawlessness, and suffering.
  • Ann Hering on James 2 - 8 years ago
James is written to the twelve tribes which are scattered. James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. We are not under a works based salvation in the dispensation of the grace of God given to us by the Apostle Paul. Faith and works is only for Israel and will be what is required for salvation during the 7 year Tribulation period.
  • Eunice Mtyhala on Psalms 23 - 8 years ago
Psalm 23 assures me that when the Lord is with me, I shall fear nothing and no one AS He is my ROCK, my SALVATION and my REDEEMER. It tells me that my Shepherd is my everything. Love it with all of my heart and soul.
  • Servant of God on 2 Peter 3 - 8 years ago
The message from Peter is the same as that of Jesus: Watch and pray. Obviously, we can't control the elements, but we can hear into understanding and watch into faith, that God is just and his reward is in his hand. This is certain in my life of devotion to God, the King of kings, the Lord of Lords, who has no partners but many Sons, which are those that remain faithful under all conditions!
  • Hazel on Psalms 97 - 8 years ago
Thank you Lord for your gift of love
  • Mary Robertson on Jeremiah 1 - 8 years ago
God had called many but has chosen some even before natural birth into this world. God already had saw into your future and knew your heart was to love and you never knew the anointing God had place on your life because of rejection etc and GOD knew you would say what HE SAID and take no GLORY . You would be an instrument used only by GOD wholeheartedly withholding nothing.

I read and realize the clear message that even tho one has learned truth at an early age, there must be continuity, if a child cease to eat of the bread of life, he will eventually die, as the nourishment required for good health has either been taken away or at some point he has refused it. Therefore, whatever the physical cause for his demise, is a factor pre determined by God. Hard TRUTH!!
  • Wilda on Romans 9 - 8 years ago
This is certainly not the first time I read this chapter, but as our living circumstances change so the word of God is recognized according to our needs. I find more so in recent times that I come to question the reckless speech, conduct and indulgence of persons who were raised having the privilege to attend Sunday School, people who have been taught the word of God as children.
  • A disciple on Genesis 6 - 8 years ago
"..the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, MY SPIRIT SHALL NOT ALWAYS STRIVE WITH MAN FOR THAT HE ALSO IS FLESH.." What do you hear the most from constantly the backslider who just can't quit sinning? Excusing their sins (which they secretly love) because their flesh is weak! This is the true doctrine.
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Dawn (cont.) This is not something that I am uncertain of or misinformed: Check it out and compare to the way men have despised and rejected the holy faith of God's Anointed, because they don't want to be told what to do, to be clean and holy, and to believe in Jesus! They want the world, the flesh and the devil! What is the point AT ALL if demons bred with women? Its a lie! Angels can't copulate!
  • A disciple on Genesis 6 - 8 years ago
Dawn; Read carefully the whole story in full: there is no reference to demons at all! Its all about the world of men as there was a great chasm dividing the Saints the sons (children) of God, and the descendants of Cain. There is nothing about what demons did; but that men did! They were resisting the conviction of the Spirit, and loving the things of this world; until only Noah was left!
  • Michael Compton on Mark 11 - 8 years ago
I think Mark chose to tell of Gods Love for us in an easy understanding like forgiving if we do not forgive we can't expect God to forgive us
  • Kimberly on Genesis 5 - 8 years ago
Please turn the verse highlighter back on. I really like and need it. Thank You!
  • Christina Marlowe on Hebrews 4 - 8 years ago
By Belief, By Faith...AND By WORKS:

    James 2: 19-26
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect

Amos was obedient, committed and faithful.
  • BSP on Matthew 6 - 8 years ago
Verse 10 shows the subjects we should make a priority in our prayers.
  • BSP on Psalms 19 - 8 years ago
Verse 1: Looking at the physical heavens shows the glory of Jehovah God. It has such detail and it is so vast and beautiful to observe.
  • Harvey on Genesis 15 - 8 years ago
15:6 'And he believed in the LORD and He counted it to him for righteousness.' Abraham had faith in the LORD and because of his faith he is justified. Belief is all you require to be saved. By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. Eph 2:8
Abraham was saved long before the Law was given to Moses. This is a verse that I hope I always remember.
  • BSP on Matthew 3 - 8 years ago
Verse 4: This shows that John the Baptist lived a simple life. His clothing was simple and so was the food that he ate.
  • Servant of God on 2 Peter 2 - 8 years ago
Peter rails against the establishment, calling out the hypocrisy and warning of the dire consequences. He cites the OT and warns those who were once following the teaching about returning to worldly life. Bad stuff, for sure. But this must be taken seriously and without falling back for the stakes are high and eternity is a long time to suffer with the non-believers. God is Spirit. We are too
  • BSP on Luke 1 - 8 years ago
Verse 34: Mary did not have doubt, but she was inquiring how she would become pregnant without having sexual relations. Mary was not ashamed of her virginity.
  • BSP on Mark 11 - 8 years ago
If we want to have forgiveness for our sins, we must forgive one another.
