Then what do you do with the Scripture that says, "He sits on the circle of the earth?" There is no conspiracy to make people think the earth is round; and the silly idea of a flat earth is really a funny thing that anyone should get distracted and upset over. The earth and the other planets revolving around the sun doesn't threaten the truth of Jesus and the Scriptures or our salvation at all!

Psalms 91 save my life, if it had not been for the trust I had in Jesus I would not be here to write this confession. I love the Lord with all my mind, my soul and body.

(continuing) Jesus used the same method in trying to pull some thinking and growth out of His own disciples; asking them questions, not because He didn't know what He was going to do, or even required a suggestion; but to prove them! John had been announcing and teaching and preaching the coming of the Lamb of God, and by the Spirit knew Him when he saw Him. But his disciples were not getting it!

It is sad how easily SO MANY are led away from sound understanding of Scripture, simply because they hear some Pastor saying it! In the actual Sacred Text, Jesus in no way indicates that John had somehow slipped into doubting; but rather praises him as greater AND MORE THAN A PROPHET! Dear Eric; I understand very well your reference Scripture, and how we MUST "receive" Jesus. But I strongly DISAGREE with the ultra popular contemporary notion which directs people to "Accept" Jesus into their darkened and alienated by nature lives, with absolutely NO mention or even a basic teaching about repentance and CONVERSION. We have to follow the Lord's own teaching about what we must do.

Rev 3:20. Accepting Jesus into your heart IS scriptural. Please, everyone, be careful what you claim is scriptural or not. Read John 5:39. Of course we need to repent to have salvation, but sometimes we need Jesus in our hearts to do so. "Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more". First Jesus does not condemn, THEN, tells her to repent.

Genesis 6:3 Excusing one's self for failure because of the weakness of the flesh is disobedience!

What a world of danger and disaster do the ungodly have to endure! Just a glimpse into the kind of world going on all around "God's Friend Abram;" in which his nephew Lot was accidentally caught up in, because he was not as keen on this life of a pilgrim like his uncle was determined to live. Abram and his 318 men chased and destroyed five Nations' armies, and delivered the captives and the spoil!

In comparison to the many, MANY generations and centuries that God has given us life and mercy; few have been the numbers that have really done right according to the opportunity provided, and extremely rare it is that the remnant of God's people have united in fear of Him to DO ALL THAT HE HAS SPOKEN THROUGH HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS! There are those who say the word is no longer relavent, this in 1 john 2 discounts that assumption. We who believe in Jesus Christ as the Word need not that any man teach us. His Spirit teaches us, the sure Word of God, all things must be tested by His Word, if it doesn't meet the test, there is no light in it.

Humans today try to justify their actions by twisting the Lord's holy words to make an excuse for their actions instead of wanting to understand what he is trying to teach us through his scriptures.
