Jonah was a man who knew God despite his weaknesses ,he knew God will forgive Nineveh if they repent,because He is.God of mercy...people could have seen him as false prophet after what he proclaimed fails to happens, the last chapter of book of Jonah explain his character well.

Actually it wasn't that God was looking for someone to die for our sins; for He Himself had announced from the beginning that Christ would come in the flesh born of a woman to undo the works of the devil and save us from our sins, by His own bruising Genesis 3:15. Eric; King Solomon in all his wisdom and glory was made to be a type of the glorified Christ reigning over all Israel and the world. It is amazing to me that one of such wisdom could be so foolish. I do not want to speculate on why he did what he did, but it seems evident to me that he was not wise enough to read God's word daily. We hear people at work cheering themselves up with little sayings like "Livin' the dream" and we think "better wake up!" Reflecting upon this "life" altogether, it seems like "it can't be real!"
