the point here is not the concubine being a harlot, but the evil in mans heart when he leaves God out of his life and out of his government.Man will always seek what he feels is right .A disobedient and idolatrous people are defeated time and time again without God because of their rebellion.
  • I AM on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
O people: If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD even the CHRIST child; then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful and the plagues of thy seed: even great plagues and of long continuance: and sore sicknesses and of long continuance. The fear of the LORD is wisdom. Be ye wise now.

LORD when I was in despair you heard my cry and rescued me.
LORD you paid the penalty for my sins and forgave me.
LORD when I feel like I'm in my darkest moments you give me a dawning of a new day.
LORD when I was a slave to sin you purchased me with your blood and set me free.
Glory be go GOD my ALL and ALL. My LORD and SAVIOR. AMEN

I just watched the President giving the Congressional Medal of Honor to a man of extraordinary love and courage, who rescued about half of his comrades who had been wounded in a very intense attack in Vietnam. In hearing about what this wonderful man did so selflessly for four days caring for the wounded while he himself was badly wounded and constantly in life danger I have to reflect on my own small existence and the little sphere of influence God has charged me with. No greater love has anyone than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Jesus came down from heaven and exposed Himself to the absolute cruelest hatred and violence and death to rescue us! There have been some very wonderful brothers and sisters who have walked in His steps likewise sacrificing themselves for love and righteousness and truth. May the Lord help us to be like Jesus our Saviour, and like those many brave and honorable Saints who laid down their lives unselfishly for us!

Dear Jonathan; Why do you not spell out the word God? He is not offended or challenged by our unworthiness; but He rather loves us and seeks to save us! ( John 3:16-17) There is a prophecy in Amos about the disobedient Jews at one point being no longer allowed to mention the LORD's Name; but it is not for us who believe and love the Name of our God and Saviour! What are your thoughts? Please write!

Devi (cont.); And He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, by His own authority; and has broken the power of the devil and sin over us who believe in Him. After forty days being seen many many times by His disciples when He was risen, He took them outside the city of Jerusalem to the Mt. of Olives, and ascended to the right hand of God; until He returns as King forever!
  • A disciple on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
Hi Devi; Yes, Jesus did become dead when He was crucified, and gave up His spirit voluntarily to pay for the world's guilt of sin, and open the way for us to be healed and forgiven and restored to God as He originally meant for us. Read Genesis chapter 3, especially verse 15, and you will see why Jesus had to come, to undo the disaster caused by the devil that ruined the Man and Woman.

Lisa; Thank you for the very informed post! The meaning of the word Shekinah is actually: Presence, as Dwelling or Abiding; and the feminine ending in the Hebrew does not necessarily indicate female as we understand it in English. But you are correct about the word not actually being in the King James Bible; although its meaning is alluded to in several places as His Transforming Spirit and Glory.
  • Penni Carter on Matthew 11 - 8 years ago
Jesus is so clear about our walk in trusting him, but He is also very clear in His stance regarding judgment. We have it easier because Jesus came to the earth in the form of a man to show us how to live. Is it really any wonder that our judgment will be much harder considering we had the truth as a living example. I pray for mercy and grace for our souls. Our world needs to repent.
  • A disciple on Revelation 17 - 8 years ago
Once again; Satan is not male or female! Angels are spirits that do not die nor have they the capacity to reproduce! Male and female is for the flesh on earth: man, beasts, birds, fish, insects, things ordained to multiply! We cannot count on man's imagination for understanding truth, nor has God given us His Word for us to have to guess at what it means; but He gives understanding to the simple.
  • A disciple on Song of Solomon 4 - 8 years ago
Joshua; the Song of Solomon is a spiritual Book, inspired by the Spirit. Many have stumbled because of their own carnal minds, just as they do over the Book of Ecclesiastes, and so many other Scriptures; because they try to force the Word into their own human understanding, instead of seeking God aright and learning how to wait for Him to give the understanding.
  • Bud on Revelation 17 - 8 years ago
Truthseeker: I did agree with you on female. Read Isaiah 14:12. 2 Corinthians 11:14, Revelation 12:9. Altho each reads the bible in his own way.
  • Joshua McAdow on Song of Solomon 4 - 8 years ago
It takes two to tango. God allowed this to happen as a sign to us that romantic love is exciting so much so a whole book is dedicated to it. That does not nullify the fact that it is wrong when not viewed from a place of passion rather a commitment. We all have desires but unless they submit to God it will never prosper.
  • Isabel Rockwell on Psalms 51 - 8 years ago
This is a awesome Psalm 51 when I was doing prison ministry prison send it to me. He is already gone with the Lord. I still read it everyday. Amazing we need his strength and peace everyday. I thank God for all his blessings.
  • TruthSeeker on Revelation 17 - 8 years ago
Who is Mystery Babylon the Great? Why does God use a feminine image? there is a good reason for that; Because the feminine archetype comes from LUCIFER.

Remember God is not the author of confusion, meaning in this context, God does not choose such an image for merely no reason. Lucifer is FEMALE, not male.

  • Lisa on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
Shekhinah is not in the KJV Bible. Know that Shekhinah means the feminine aspect of divinity and does not represent Gods Glory. God is not feminine. Be Bereans whenever you hear anything that represents The Holy God. Also know the Hebrew Roots movement people uses this word all the time and that is another discussion altogether....Hebrew Roots teaches bondage by putting us back under the Law. Be very careful today too many words and false teachings out there about God and Jesus. God tells us to test the spirits.........
  • Devi Jenkins on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
I believe that he means when he said he "was dead" that when he got crucified and then raised from the dead and reigns in heaven forever.
  • Mary on Ephesians 6 - 8 years ago
Paul was in prison when he wrote Ephesians. Tychicus was there with him, and it is a blessing that he was. Paul told us how to fight against the evil spirits and he even gave us instructions on how to dress. Putting on the whole armour, it is all there verses 11 through 18. I love it. If we follow this advice we cannot miss.
  • Jeff Berry on Matthew 6 - 8 years ago
Ana d, no doubt every time someone reads your post they will say a prayer for you! We should all be as burdened as you are. In fact, your burden makes me think that you are going to be okay. Blessings my friend!
  • Chinyere on Joshua 1 - 8 years ago
Joshua is great inpiration to me as a child of God. His dedication and unwavering support to Moses earned him the choice of God to lead God's people into the promised land after the death of Moses.
